Approved a denied names?? Is that like, a cultural thing? The government limiting names to keep the ones related to culture and the local native language prominent? Ive heard of governments doing similar things in places where the native language is endangered.

its somewhat of a culture and nationalism thing for sure but i think also a beurocracy thing lol they dont wanna deal w keighleigh i guess. they also dont allow unisex names bc homophobia then its not clear whether a child is a boy or a girl :( also they only allow hungarian citizens to have names that correspond to the way we write stuff. thats why we now have names like dzsennifer (jennifer) or a new one kjokó (kyoko). ájlá from turkish ayla (i assume is the original spelling maybe im wrong. also its funny, parents r so into turkish dramas now they wanna name their kids turkish stuff. i love the new turkish names. they approved nazir!) so its not that much a nationalism thing since they keep approving more and more foreign names. english, turkish/arabic and slavic names r commonly requested from what i can see.

also from what i understand its not rare to have this, i think the US is more the exception where parents can just name their child anything w any spelling ever. i think most european countries limit what u can name ur kid. basically the legal side is "only phonetic spelling, only girl names for girls and boy names for boys" and the rest is for the first name committee to decide. im sure one of their things is like, dont name ur kid smth they will get bullied over. but thats very subjective.

they also usually deny shit thats "too unique" or like... when the parents get too creative. but sometimes thats sooo unfair. katamari as a name FUCKS its so good. double names r always the trend, kata mari is two names slammed together. as is narabella (denied) nara bella, or bodzaróza (denied) bodza róza. idk why. those r such good names. sorry if im incoherent im outside w the doggies

also they keep requesting random object and food names. i just saw an article titled "you still cant name your son sausage" like bro yea please deny that😭😭 also some ppl try shit like saintstephen?? as a name? SOMEONE TRIED MARIATEREZA. jesus and lucifer of course, every single year. parents r crazy😭

also they keep requesting animal and flower names, i think they just approved kikerics (autumn crocus) and lile (plover). anyway i dont think its a bad system at all i just haaaaate the phonetic spelling rule. they wont even allow maya bro. but i guess maja is one of the nicest phonetic spellings there is, i love that name.

He’s not the brightest fluffer on the block, but he does his best! Sure, so he might be a henchcat for an evil cat gang, but you do what you gotta do when you have a younger sibling to feed. His greatest achievement in life is convincing said sibling that his manx tail is short because it got bitten off by a penguin.

He’s just happy to be included!

Teasel

She/her

The kind of cat you see and think "a cat", and then completely forget about it. No special features; black mackerel tabby with warmer tones (more brownish then greyish), washed yellow eyes. She's large and has bigger than average paws but not conspicuously so.

She's grumpy, she's moody, she's often unpleasant - a delight to be around. Lonely type, likes to do her business (namely hunting and lying in the sun - she is a cat after all) alone. She's really only attached to her sister, Hibiscus, and nobody else; at least until Hibiscus has kits and then soon dies.

Storytime: i had cat ocs since i could think up characters, but Teasel (Mácsonya), Hibiscus (Hibiszkusz) and Elder (Bodza - it's a normal name in hungarian ok) are one of the most reliably consistent ones. I had them for half of my life. They are the originals, but soon joined by Gingko, Hibiscus's "husband", the father of her kits. Teasel is a stray, Elder is a housecat, Hibiscus and Gingo are nightmeldas. Nightmeldas are a very important part of this setting, they are a spiritual order of cats.

Much later i got into warriors. Naturally i started to think about warrior cats aus and then i thought about my old ocs, and slapped them together. So now my au is about two runaway warriors who start a knew clan somewhere with Teasel, Elder and a cat called Batman (Elder's friend). Hibiscus is already dead, Gingko can't be around the clan cats for special melda reasons (but he likes them and visits often). The first part of their story would be about bringing up Hibiscus's kits: everyone around them has very different ideas about what their life should look like. Teasel is in the clan only for the kits' sake (since Elder is here, and she is the one nursing them), she wants to leave as soon as the kits can be considered grown up. The clan cats want them to be warriors, Gingko wouldn't mind if at least one of them became a nightmelda. And there are a lot of emotional trouble too: Teasel basically projects herself and her dead sister on two of the kits, and leave the other two entirely to Elder. This of course makes all four kits quite miserable. (Teasel's arc would culminate in a painful fight with the kit she sees as herself about this, if I ever write this story).

I tried to film my dog, Bodza, doing her trick. The sound you hear is me stomping, because I taught her that when she hears that, she sits down and gives her paw. I had to do it several times to get her attention (she can be quite stubborn sometimes😄)
