Thanks for the ask, friend! 💜💜 I'm supposed to be grading essays, but this is more fun 😉😊

7. What is your favorite scene you've written so far? The fic I'm working on "Mr. President Elect", based on an unaired scene I recently discovered. The whole fic takes place in Jed's old office in New Hampshire. This might be cheating, but my favorite scene isn't actually mine, but it's the original scene that I'm using as a basis for the fic. It's got everything, Jed saying "what's next" seven times in twenty seconds, Abbey looking great in her red suit and Josh and Toby acting like silly twelve-year-olds they are. 😅😅 Jed and Abbey are the parents and Josh and Toby are the unruly kids.

8. What is the last scene you've written? This one is mine lol! Jed and Abbey are alone in his office and Jed's going through a crisis, but Abbey is there to support him. There's some mandatory Bartlet banter, gratuitous nerdiness (references to ex presidents and founding fathers abound, and there's a reference to Rudyard Kipling) but there's also softness and gentleness between them. I also managed to mention the unnamed general without making it sound silly 😂😂

9. What is your favorite dialogue written so far?

“If you’re President Elect, does that make me First Lady Elect?” she asked. That got Jed’s attention. He turned to face her and lifted her hand to his lips, kissing her knuckles.  “Yeah… No one elected you, boo boo.” “You’re saying the red dress I wore to that fundraiser in New York didn’t help one bit? Or the visit to the children’s hospital in Pittsburgh? If they wanted a first lady who would only talk about carpets and wallpaper in the Red Room, they shouldn't have voted for you.” Jed laughed. “Why do I have a feeling we’ll be having this conversation many times in the next four years, Susan B. Anthony?” “Because we are,” Abbey cooed.  “Yeah,” Jed agreed. 

There are also some other bits of dialogue that I really enjoyed writing, but they're not quite finished yet.

Hey everyone!! Reblog to spread the word to anyone who might be interested and to remind those who have already expressed interest in participating.

As stated in a previous post, we’ll try to do a rewatch August 11-13 and live-tweet, using the hashtag #TheGetDown and a new one, #OneYearOfTGD.

You can most definitely watch Part 2 if you have the time, but if not, just focus on watching Part 1.

You can liveblog here too if you like, to try to get it to trend here, but the goal is either to get #TheGetDown and #OneYearOfTGD trending on Twitter where it’ll be most noticeable, or to at least generate enough tweets so that the cast and crew will see.

In addition to this, tweet any and all positive things you have to say about The Get Down! And again, when discussing specific characters and moments, tag cast and crew members so they can see!

You can also tag Netflix if you have anything specific that you want them to see, a point that you need to make or to just boost our chances of them acknowledging us and The Get Down in some way.

I also encourage you to post any TGD fanart here, on Twitter (and tagged so the cast and crew can see) and on Instagram as well.

It can be new or old fanart (or other fanworks like fanvids, clothes, poetry, music, etc., just stuff inspired by TGD that you’ve made) just make sure to post it and use the above hashtags and #FanartFriday if you decide to post on that day. If not, anytime throughout the weekend is great.
