Okay okay the get down fandom is dead. I know. But listen, when mylene may have lost basically everything and blames herself for her father’s death, she sings she “may have nothing at all”, but the “voice” that “lifts her up again” and inspires her return to music despite it all, is a song that she writes together with drag queens and queers and just strange people not accepted for some reason. And we know that the bi lighting in toy box was intentional on some of the creator’s part, so mylene isn’t just being supported by drag queens and queers when she needs it, she’s finding her community. Her blood family, at least some of them, can’t give her the love she deserves, so she’s finding other people like her and they’re welcoming her with open arms. She’s building a new family where she can truly be herself. She’s learning she can prioritize herself as number one. Because she deserves it. And these people love her fully! They support her voice! Her unique beautiful lovable voice! No, seriously, listen—

“You Doin’ okay EP?”

The young girl asked him. He asked her to slow dance a moment ago, but he seemed uncharacteristically stiff. We’re talking about Elvis the pelvis here. She’s seen the man roll around on stage howling to pools of screaming fans. But here she was. Him holding onto her tightly, with his eyes a little droopy, shivering with nerves was not what she expected to say the least.

“Why wouldn’t I be, baby?”

He gave Mylene a classic charming Elvis smile.

“Look at yourself. You’re shaking.”

He gets out a shy laugh.

“It looks like it”

He looks down like a shy little boy.

“It must be you, MyMy. You makin me nervous and all.”

MyMy. That was the nickname he gave her. He’d whistle it when she’d walk onto the stage for rehearsals. “My oh my there’s MyMy.”

He was a bit different here shaking in front of her than shaking in front of a huge crowd every night.

She didn’t know how he did it. He was “on “ all the time. Mylene truly wondered if the man ever really slept at all. She made sure to pray for him every night before she went to bed.

“I’m sorry EP.”

She offers

“Don’t be sorry, doll.”

She clicks her teeth.

“You can call me all those cute little pet names but you can’t even dance with me.”

“Stay here won’t you.” He had an easy smile on his face but he wasn’t listening to what Mylene was saying.

He winks.

He walks over to Jerry.

“You wanna dance or not EP!”

She calls over to Elvis and his bodyguard.

The jumpsuit wearing man shot her a look and gave an exaggerated frown.

The girl sighed and crossed her arms.

“I’m going up to my room now.”

E rushed over and dashed in front of her.

“Don’t leave me honey.”

He cradled her elbows. His touch was light and tender.

“I’ll stay if we dance the right way okay?”

“Promise?”

“I promise.”

He holds her again in a slow dance position. His hands shaking a little less now.

“There you go, EP. Don’t be nervous.”

He blushes and can’t stop giggling like a little kid.

They keep a slow pace but he’s finally dancing with her. He kept asking if she was ok. She always responded yes. But his extra care was endearing to her. It was just like those times when her dad would ask her to dance at their church functions. He wouldn’t let her dance with boys her age.

It was awkward at first, yes, but it made her look at her father in a new light. He didn’t know how to do everything, he was just a man. A man trying his best. That’s exactly how she felt about Elvis Presley at this very moment.

Speaking of which, she's one to talk. She had to be literally carried away by Ghost to force her to eat. Once Soap's mother came down from Scotland, her and Mini took turn in nagging Riot. And Ghost.

Mini (@sofasoap) is quite busy at base, as medical personnel, so she tries to stay with her brother as much as possible, but sometimes she can't. Once Mam MacTavish arrives, Petra manages to give her some free days

Before setting off to her own mission, Petra (@siilvan) visits Soap as much as she can too. Some days, the floor nurses complain that the room is a circus, with so many people in there, keeping each other company.
