5 & 8 for Wyn, 3 & 12 for Mori, and 16 & 20 for Tritchet!!!
Weeeeee, thank you!! 💜
Wyn
5. What’s one hill your OC will die on (anything from a guiding moral position to a strong opinion about combining mint and chocolate)?
Apparently, the hill that she's going to die on is the fact that she has a guiding moral principle against causing death that is drawn out or causes undue suffering. 🙄 Wyn's covenant with the god that touched her and her brother in their worst hours came because her experiences with them lead her to believe strongly in their domain, which was that death comes always, but that it should come with as minimal suffering as can possibly be imagined, and that it was her task as their cleric to do the labor required to minimize that suffering.
In a moment of incredible stress, Wyn said as much to Strahd, and apparently the Countess is taking Wyn's oath to a principle that isn't HER very personally. SIGH.
8. What’s something that your OC owns that means the world to them? What’s something they own that they don’t like, but can’t bring themself to part with?
This is such a good question for Wyn in particular, because the answer to both questions is the same thing: the book on gods of life and death that she found in her brother's study when he was dying, which she used to call him back, and which she has continued to use ever since to develop her skills as a cleric for the very same god that did the calling. The book is a reminder of her failure, and of her brother's abandonment, and of her love for him, and of everything that she has ever struggled to learn in her chosen trade. She has literally been using the blank pages in the back as a spellbook at this point. It's her most cherished possession, and sometimes she wants to throw it right into Lake Zarovich.
Mori
3. What is their stance on religion? Are they a devout believer, against the idea of gods, or somewhere in between? Do they make their practice or their opinions public, or keep it private?
I like to think that the experiences that Mori has had in her time in the Necropolis has made her keen on the spiritual aspect of religion - because much of the duties of the Watch have a cadence of the religious - but that the organized religions that she is familiar with are...not really her thing. She thinks they can be a wonderful tool for people! She thinks they also can be a terrible one! But her own personal attachment is exclusively to the covenants with the dead made by the Watchers of old, and she finds that there isn't much room for anything else.
12. What does their bed and/or desk look like? Tidy or cluttered - are they both the same, or is one neat and the other messy?
The thing about Mori is that she has never really had much in the way of possessions. You know how in the beginning of Veilguard, you get to kinda lay out all of your Stuff and it's like four things that you slap onto a table somewhere? That's basically how Mori has lived for her entire life. She just doesn't have Stuff, and her experience with the Watch bred a certain obsession with having Duties to carry out, which has manifested as a very meticulously maintained living space. That has eased SLIGHTLY with time away from the endless chore list of her home, but not...much....
Harding's suggestion of adding plant life to her room at the Lighthouse HAS eased some of the more spartan aspect of Mori's room, though! They are decorations that come with A Job, and given some time, I'm certain that they will help Mori will take on some of the absolute bomb-went-off mess that I know is buried deep inside her LMAO
Tritchet
16. Point assign D&D ability scores to your OC (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA; out of 27).
STR: 11
DEX: 15
CON: 13
INT: 9
WIS: 12
CHA: 13
Tritchet is MAX DEXTERITY, decent Constitution and Charisma, and dump stats for everything else. The only reason her Strength breaks ten is because she brute-forced physical training when she was a lancer, and kept it up during her brief stint as a dark knight.
This skill array probably also explains why she mysteriously disappears whenever the gang goes to Sharlayan. You won't catch HER in a library, given literally any alternative!
20. What kind of clothing do they feel most comfortable in? What kind of clothing do they wear most often?
Depends on the scenario! In battle, Tritchet tends towards armor simply by dint of being a melee-and-tank girlie, but she prefers stuff that she can still reasonably move well in, and will prioritize that over armor coverage if need be. Her armor sets tend to be heavily covered on the upper half with her arms and legs free, since they need full range of motion to do her Dragoon Bullshit. It's why she wears a lot of shorts. (Also because she looks cute in them, which is equally important for her.)
Day to day wear tends towards this trend too. She wears a lot of shorts with jackets or long-sleeved coats, and tends to eschew skirts or dresses because they are just NOT practical for being as active as Tritchet Pock is!

In Vue.js, scoped styles are a feature that allows you to apply styles to a specific component without affecting the styles of other components. This is achieved by adding the scoped attribute to the <style> tag within a Vue component file. Here's how you can use scoped styles in Vue.js

I'm white, so I have limited stock in the conversation about the ending of the lilo and stitch remake. Predominantly, the movie was imperialist propaganda supporting and normalizing indigenous children being taken from their families, young women being emotionally divorced from their families, and indigenous people moving to mainland america to pursue an idyllic future.
But the specific situation makes me feel really shitty and sorry for myself, because my mom left me in the care of someone else to go to college, and it was NOT a good decision in the long term.
My mom left my brother and I with our grandparents until we were 7 to pursue college education. She didn't want to; she did it because it was the only way to get a career to support us. And she really only did it because our grandparents bullied her into "pulling herself up by her bootstraps" instead of getting her inpatient for some stuff she was going through at the time. Without kids to worry about, she was able to graduate in a few years, and my brother and I moved in with her again... and she got so fucking sick of us that all she ever did was threaten to send us to "grandparent boarding school." She had her own life, and having 2 young kids cramped her style so much that our entire family dynamic was critically messed up. My brother and I were neglected, and our only adult figure didn't have any interest in us.
Having no kids and going to college made her worse for us. It emotionally separated us so much that after only 3 years of having us, she couldn't care less. She got remarried when I was 11. My brother and I went to stay with our grandparents "just for the summer, just so they got a really good honeymoon period." And then we never moved back in with our mom. She came to visit about as much as she did when she was in college. She whinged about how she's our Mother and she wasn't the one raising her children. But she never really made any effort to get us back.
Nani didn't get Lilo in the remake. She wasn't the sole supportive understanding force Lilo had in the original. I mean, characterization-wise, it makes total sense Nani went to college and used a portal gun just to visit Lilo instead of the other way around. Again, the imperialist propaganda cannot be understated in this movie, but on a less serious note, it also just feels like they're trying to absolve mothers who don't love their kids.

i'm not seeing any posts about it here yet, but they solved the silas birchtree riddle on reddit and there's some pretty juicy lore! first, entering "paranoid" backwards nets this conspiracy board:
Tumblr media
then, from the black letters in the corners of some of the pages people pieced together the code "connect the dots", backwards again, gets a whopping 12 page chapter about the ciphertology cult! it's...something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so in summary, bill puppeted a guy's corpse, became a cult leader, seemingly married over a hundred people, mass-possessed his followers, tried to get them to build his portal. his lone dissenter was a spinster who made anti-bill chick tracts and started a fire. a waco-style shootout ensued, killing silas' already-rotting corpse a second time in a disturbingly detailed manner. at some point he made some of his followers drink the kool-aid too.
entering the lady's name, emmaline butternubbins, into the computer finally gets you the reward for solving all the riddles: hd wallpapers of various graphics from the book of bill. but frankly this is more interesting and fucked up to me.

"Have you ever heard of Orchard Lake, Kansas? Chances are you haven't. It was erased from every map, book, and historical record, and the US Government's official position on it is "stop calling us or we'll send a drone to your house." (I learned this the hard way.) But if you drive to the exact latitude and longitude of you'll see bullet casings, faded billboards, and bow ties strewn across the desert sands.
That's because Orchard Lake had another name before it was wiped off the record: BillVille.
CHAPTER 3: BillVille
The First Cult In History That Was Right
FIG A: A tumbillweced
As a historian of esoteric religions, I thought I'd discovered the strangest sects America had yct to offer (see "Chapter 3: Kevin's Gate") but that all changed when I found the following items tucked away in an old trunk in an estate sale on the out- skirts of Bootstrap, Missouri."]
