Canon Gay Pairings vs Fanon (or formerly canon) Pairings

Hell yeah, some drawings from tonight!!!

1. @phosphoricbomb has been working on a Gem AU for Spop. She asked me to make a Catrapta fusion!!! I think Catrapta would be a bit of a mess, especially early on - fusions emphasise the overlapping components of their parts, so Catrapta is a wild child who likes to toy with her opponents and blow things up with a Detachable Spiderbot Morningstar, but she also deals badly with rejection, even by... yknow... the people she is toying with. She's misguidedly trying to impress them. I think that Catra and Entrapta's intentions have only limited control over the decisions of this fusion, like Sugilite (or Gotenks), even if they have a clear plan it doesn't go past the fusion stage.

2. This shining star is the Bowdora fusion!! Kim has a LOT of thoughts on Gem Bow specifically, ill hold back from saying much on him, but I think if Bow and Adora fused, their overlapping traits would also be emphasised... and Bowdora would be a super hero!!! I may even add a moustache in, this character is literally like 80's Bow and She-ra, a standard cat-saving superhero who takes advantage of their enormous powerset to take down enemies. I think Bowdora is a mostly stable fusion, but can start panicking when they're failing to protect their friends, especially if Glimmer or anyone close gets hurt!!!

I had this incredible concept for a terrifyingly string Glimscorp fusion but I need to work on her design before I can share.

3. Sleepy pal trio! Well, sleepy Entrapta and Catra. I cant tell if Scorpia is happy or if she feels stung and left out, like Marcy Wu. I think Scorpia would feel like shes doing something wrong if her friends came back from space and were more comfortable around each other than with her.

4. On a similar note, it would be hilarious and tragically fitting if Emily was the one character who couldn't forgive Catra. Like, i think of everyone, Emily may have seen the worst consequences of Catra's behaviour. She lost one friend, and watched another suffer, and was threatened with destruction just for being who she is. Also i may have been reading too much sweary shera.

It really is always "let fans explore," with the aromantic characters.

I will never forget some other explorations that were deemed homophobic and absolutely unacceptable by fans of media where, in the dialogue/text/narrative of the literal shows, the characters never say with their own mouths, "I'm gay." Oh but it's fine with an aromantic characters that the VA and indirectly the creator have said is aromantic.

Hello, my friends! I was thinking about how there are some not so nice people on this little website and came up with some tips to help avoid them and to just have a better experience in general. I thought others might be able to benefit from what I have to say so please read on if you are interested.

1)Turn off the option for people to send Anon asks. From what I understand the reason so many out there don't think twice of slipping into someone's askbox and spewing hate is because there is little to no consequence for doing so since you are unable to discern who they are. By disabling this feature they are either less likely to be confrontational or you know the name of their blog and are able to block it.

2)If someone does act aggressively do not retaliate in any way. It is highly tempting to defend yourself, but it is highly unlikely that anything you say or do will sway them. You do not owe anyone an explanation and the best solution is just to block whoever it is and continue on with your day. Believe me, you will most definitely be happier for it.

3)Remember that the block button and tag filters exist for a reason. It is perfectly okay to make use of them in order to avoid things that make you uncomfortable. Do this and your Tumblr experience will be 1000x better.

Bow and Adora's Majors in an AU

When entering the college, if not an artist major, Adora could aply to something that would make her capable of drawing/writing comics or even, idk... create a fantastic reboot of a show.

(She'd be Noelle basically)

And Bow would still have that misunderstandment with his dads that they want him to be a historian. But instead of being an archer, he just wanted to get his major in something else.

I was thinking something like Fisicist or Arquitect.

And a funny point is: everybody but their closests friends whould think they swap their courses.

autistic bow anon here! here’s some stuff expanding on my lil hc, but it’s a bunch of hcs rather than an actual analysis of bow in canon, as i’ll have to go back over the eps and refresh my memory, but regardless, enjoy!

Bow and Adora bond over not being “visibly autistic”

Bow’s whole crop top thing is partially about sensory issues w a whole shirt.

Whenever he puts on a whole shirt the feeling is like that one itch that you can’t scratch that you’re very aware of at the back of your mind

Before he told his dads’ about his involvement in the rebellion, he wore full shirts because one of his brothers made a deadpan remark about crop tops not being something a respectable historian would wear and Bow took him literally.

His SpIns are inventing tech and archery, ofc.

He tends to take a bunch of stuff literally, esp when a convo is being held in a one on one situation without anyone else to gauge reactions off.

When Bow was younger he spent a lot of time staring at people’s faces wondering what they were thinking, what that wrinkle on their brow meant, etc.

He didn’t know about being autistic until late in his early teens and when he realised that most neuro typicals didn’t spend their early childhood working hard at learning how to be good at friendships he was like :O

Bow works best in socialisng when there’s someone else to watch reacting to what’s being said, and uses that as cue for his own response

Bow and Adora have a habit of taking one funny story/joke they heard that day, and spending the week telling anybody and anyone the latest funny thing. They accidentally create feedback loops w each other.

Bow likes repeating certain words, phrases, stuff said in a “cool tone” He does it on his head for the most part, but occasionally he’ll repeat the interesting whatever he heard out loud.

Every time he tries a new food he likes, that’s gonna be his samefood for like a month or so.
