Chat what are you supposed to do when a 100+ year old heartless- thing?? That took over your body and almost killed everything you know and love is asking you to go eat at that one nice place in Clove bc you made a master-servant contract with them?
Anyways,
Afialtis everyone, say hi (this isn't their actual from tho they are a blob of darkness and really don't have a shape)
Hey I know u probably haven’t thought about it in a while, but your Box Au for Mao Mao still comes to mind from time to time, and I was wondering wat happens when Mao Mao’s family finally realizes he’s alive, and comes for him?
Oh man it's been a hot minute since I've thought about the mmhoph Box AU. I'm surprised anyone has remembered that AU existing.
In the story, Contacts is the one who originally goes to seek him out knowing Mao Mao is alive somewhere out there according to her visions, but none of the other sisters believe her (and if anything it has caused lots of infighting among the sisters whenever Contacts brings up Mao possibly being alive)
On her journey, Contacts meets Tanya Keys, who joins her in her quest to find her brother with the promise of a hefty reward when they find him (but the two would have developed to become friends at the very least)
Contact's journey to find Little Mao would have been like the side plot of the AU, the main meat of the story would have been about Mao Mao's life in Pure heart Valley and wanting to be a force for good (versus Badgerclops who has been running from town to town to escape the cops lmao)
Mao would learn to trust again, and find a sister in Adorabat (and the occasional "kidnapping" by King Snugglemange cause Little Mao Mao is so tiny and cute gjsjadaj) and the other typical shenanigans that happen in MMHOPH.
Because Pureheart is so hard to find, it takes a couple years before Contacts can even have any clue to WHERE he is.
When she does find him, he does not want to go "home" with her. He doesn't remember much of his family back then, but what he can recall are very sad and painful memories. No matter how hard Contact's tries to convince him, he won't go with her.
There is the attempt to just straight up take him back by force, as suggested by Tanya, but BC and Eugene (he was suppose to show up at some point) end up stopping them.
There's nothing, come Hell or high water, that Contacts or anyone else could do to convince Mao Mao to come back to the Clan.
I finally caved, and drew @burrotello 's Boxer AU! Please checkout her art! She's such an amazing artist! Truly Truly amazing!!!

I had such a blast drawing dynamic poses like those! It's great practice and I have to admit that Jax and Ragatha look even more stunning in this version ♡
haven't posted art in a while, September has been busy lol
been feeling such a big mood to actually shade a drawing and stuff (and not in a big mood for refs) so I ended up getting inspiration from a doodle a while ago and drew this
they dont have a name yet so I've just been calling them Box Au lmao
something about going ham on shading and stuff is always fun and I haven't really been finding ideas that let me lately
i do have more colour palette doodles that I'll likely post sometime soon, cause those are fun even if I cant exactly shade them much
The leg is because of Quackity, actually. Because b!Quackity isn't coming in under Sam's jurisdiction (and is, uh, kind of doing all of this specifically to spite Sam) he's got a lot. Fewer restrictions. Than what would otherwise exist in canon.
b!Sam hates this, but he doesn't really have a leg up here. He's trying to figure out how to wrangle the prison (and Dream) back under his control, but he also...doesn't want to go too far against Quackity, who is his old business partner, as long as things are stable enough. And they do seem stable, on the surface. Quackity is visiting daily. Dream and Sam remain in the prison. Yes, Sam isn't allowed free rein over the entire premises and yes, the Warden's keycards are with Quackity now, but it's similar enough to the way things Were to make Sam hesitate to take sudden action.
(After all, this Sam was on the opposite side of Quackity's knife. He's not eager to return there.)
So Sam is allowed into the cell to take care of Dream for thirty minutes after each session. Dream begs for him to do something. Sam promises that he is (he's still planning, he swears, there are things to set up and the prison to fix and he has to approach this carefully if he wants to avoid any major damage or casualties and wants to regain control...) and fixes up Dream enough so that he won't bleed out and then is forced to leave. Rinse, repeat. Dream is missing fingers one day--okay, that happened before too, Sam expected this. Especially after what he did to Quackity. So he swallows down bile and takes care of the wounds and leaves.
Then a few weeks later Dream begs him to help him, do anything, Quackity showed him a corkscrew he said he was going to take his eye, please Warden, he can't. He can't. And Sam shushes him and bandages up the wreck that Quackity has made of his back and tells him to hold on, he's strong. He's going to be alright. When he finds Dream sobbing in the corner the next day with his face covered in blood, well, he's not really surprised either.
The next day, though, Quackity tosses him a dark look over his shoulder as he leaves and says that he has an hour to tend to Dream today, instead of the usual 30 minutes. He finds Dream half-dead in the middle of the cell, his right leg in pieces.
Dream doesn't die, but it's a very near thing.
(Quackity, on the other hand, gets killed before he even gets around to cleaning off Dream's blood.)
