Okay so i realised im a fucking idiot and that i’ve been sending you shit through “?” And i have no idea where those messages go through so whoopdy doo ig but in my defence i wasnt able to send anything any other way bc.. uhh.. yeah my email wasn’t confirmed n all that. Anyways i only now finished reading svs because i’ve been putting it off in favour of reading different fics (works from other fandoms and… ooc soukoku fics. Listen i hate mischaracterisation as much as the next guy but i find them very entertaining okay) and AAAUURGGHH WHAT A BANGER. The way you write is immaculate if svs was a food it’d have a savoury taste like i’d be liking my fingers n shit. I found out about it when you posted on twitter you updated it (it was the smut chapter, by the way) and i was like “huh” and decided to read it and my god am i glad I didn’t skip over that tweet.

Idk if this was on purpose or not but verlaine is kinda cringefail in your fic and i love it. I am a firm believer that as badass as verlaine is he is undeniably embarrassing and i need MORE of that.

My one criticism for svs is that we needed more adam scenes. He should have been added like really, unnecessarily early on in the fic and act as a third wheel in the fic. But like a third wheel soukoku did not want or ask for but he’s just kinda there they can’t really get rid of him. Chuuya and dazai in their divorce arc arguing and adam is in the background thinking “i could crack a really funny joke from this” (on that note i added the lines “Adam’s blabbering makes more sense now, so they act as if nothing has happened. “When I lift this veil, you will seal the deal with a kiss.” He can’t stop himself from laughing, “I hope you enjoyed that joke too.” “We didn’t,” Verlaine says from across the shrine. “Paul be quiet.”” In my “collection of fanfic lines I chuckled at” in my notes. He’s so silly i love him. I love how he laughs at his own jokes he just like me fr.)

Anyways here are like two extra svs doodles. I keep thinking about how you said that chuu can fluctuate between genders (literally) and its so… zamn.

And reading the scene where verlaine is brushing chuuya’s hair inspired me to draw this

I have no idea how long chuuya’s hair is supposed to be like idk if it’s “yeah his hair is a little longer than it is in canon haha” or “yeah mf got some LONG ass hair looking like rapunzel”. Also I don’t remember if his lil ribbon was red or blue but.. i jus went with blue and i didn’t know if the pearls were supposed to be like on his head or woven into his braid so i just went with the latter. And again ALSO i know he was barefoot but i’m not drawing his fucking dogs okay.

Actually i take back what i said in my previous ask. I feel like dazai would not take it seriously until after a while where he’s like “😁 waiitt a damn minute what if he’s fr not coming back 😟” and at that moment starts to panic. He figured out chuuya probably melted in the shell so it’s all fine and dandy in the end.

ALSO i can imagine a younger chuuya constantly breaking his sword.. whoever is in charge of teaching him how to fight becomes annoyed and is like “bro you’re wasting resources stop 💀” like my guy has broken more swords than he has shattered his own body.

HE WOULD. He would be too strong for a while and break a lot of shit that he can't control, especially when he's young. But listen to thins. What if he and Dazai were born at the same time...like they navigate that together while being this miracle pair of gems who work flawlessly together. dazai would probably creep people out a little because he's so intelligent, but chuuya is freakishly strong. I think chuuya would still be super short though I can't erase that from him. He's small so everyone's like...huh is this tiny gem gonna beat me and then his handshake cracks your entire body. the first time he does shatter, it's BRUTAL.

Ue ue uee… dazai willingly going to the moon… and knowing how he struggled being a gem he’d possibly start wanting to be a lunarian too… and breaking himself on purpose but you have to think, is he now breaking himself because he wants to experience death, or because he wants to be a lunarian? I feel like the answer should be obvious but then again once you get far into reading the manga only then you could start questioning that.

I feel like dazai would do dangerous things on purpose, like going into the sea without permission and then everyone has to look for his ass because he’s been missing for a WHILE.

Also also.. if chuuya is one of the strongest (if not the most) gem i feel like he’d feel very responsible for whatever gem gets taken to the moon, especially if it happens while he’s patrolling with them or something. Like that “i could have prevented this” type of mentality. But he won’t admit he feels like that out loud. 🤭

YESSSSSS BOYCACA!!!!!!! I agree. I think he would long for something one way or another and try to get there. Oda would never be able to return from the moon, idk why yet, but he wouldn’t okay. And that cements death for Dazai. (The rest is me not knowing anything past what I’ve watched so) Him going to the moon would be this incredible development because he’s smart enough to convince the lunarians to work with him maybe or something along those lines and then when he returns he’s really different?

Chuuya would feel incredibly played by his partner for leaving like that because they would have been the pair. Like Dazai’s strategy afforded them constant wins. Whenever they were there, until Oda was taken, not a single gem would be forfeited to the lunarians. In general though, he would take a lot of responsibility for the other gems. After Dazai leaves they suffer a lot of loss and he internalizes it. He wants to fix it without feeling helpless :(

FIRST OF ALL in hindsight I probably should have labeled those svs doodles better… they were made with svs in mind but you know what maybe in canon bsd dazai DID pull chuuya by throwing a harpoon at him… maybe chuuya DOES rage at tetris… maybe chuuyas morning routine consists of him swimming with sharks or something…. I don’t like drawing (detailed with effort put into it) fanart for fanfics because i feel like i’ll draw something different from the author’s imagination but yeah i drew those with svs in mind 🥲

SECOND OF ALL this has got nothing to do with svs but csm au is still on my mind. I like imagining a scene where atsushi gets introduced to chuuya by dazai and arahabaki keeps annoying chuuya and chuu just fucking snaps at him but arahabaki is only visible to chuuya so atsushi is just standing there thinking “wow what a FREAK” while dazai is just laughing. Chuuya has two options you either have to listen to arahabaki 24/7 or you embarrass yourself by yelling at him. He can never win.

Also i keep thinking about how you said you didn’t want akutagawa to be the clothes devil…. Yknow i also would have probably thought of aku being the shadow devil or something but now that you said something about the clothe devil i like that option more now. Imagine meeting the most intimidating and unapproachable guy ever who’s resting face makes him look like he’s looking at everything he’s ever hated in life 24/7 only to find out his devil power is something as goofy as the CLOTHES DEVIL. Jokes aside rashomon (or however you spell it) is a pretty powerful ability so the shadow devil would work pretty well.

And kunikida i keep thinking about him i feel like he would be contracted with a devil (unwillingly, he also doesn’t like devils methinks) but WHAT WOULD IT BE???

They twinked a lot of characters because bones decided to animate it differently than they had other mangas at that point. Usually, they were super good with staying on point with the style of the manga like noragami or vanitas or fma but GODDAMN THEY DROPPED THE BALL INTO ACID OR SOMETHING WITH BSD. harukawas style is so fluid and beautiful so maybe it would be harder for them to animate, but the extreme body changing I just hate. It's not only dazai ofc there's several other characters that got nerfed but dazai they sillified and twinkified and that has made me so sad.

I also just want to see them all lined up with their body types and SPIKE SPIEGEL FITS DAZAI SO WELL?? COWBOY BEBOP IS ONE OF MY ULT FAVS AND DAZAI AND SPIKE ARE WEIRDLY SIMILAR YOU GET IT!!!!!!!!!! The body type is broader shoulders and a slimmer waist (which tbh is just more of a masculine body type ik) is what dazai has but bones makes them look so...sick and skinny. I'm the world's biggest hater for them taking away the broad shoulders. like I think dazai has a natural classic beauty to him that makes him pleasant to look at because he's got an easy-to-digest face, but he is ultimately handsome. I have a few artists that have drawn him perfectly in my mind and it fits with his description of being a tall, lean, handsome man [look up @byuntaman on twt their dazai and chuu is perfect] I don't see him as very weak because there really is no basis to it when you are comparing him to chuuya. Chuuya's job was to bring the brawn and he was expected of that from the time of being with the Sheep, so naturally, when he's in the mafia he's going to keep up his reputation of being THE STRONG DUDE. It's unfair to compare Dazai to him tbh. Also, the pm trains their members, I'm guessing Dazai would go through that because Mori is not going to be willing to lose him from lack of prep. Yes, dazai is smart, but smarts don't get you out of a chokehold T_T.

I could rant about this all day long, but I think people just live with silly dazai too much and forget he's a capable person who can also defend himself and not just by manipulating the situation. ANOTHER THING ABOUT WHAT I KEEP THINKING ABOUT CSM AU DAZAI. When it comes to makima she’s pretty much.. emotionless i guess you could say. There’s a debate that during the scene where denji and her are watching the final movie she cries and people are split between her crying because she wants to kinda communicate to denji that all she wants is a genuine connection with somebody while the other half debates that she did it purely to manipulate denji by relating to him in some way. I feel like it’s a mix of both.. i think she does want a genuine connection withs someone but will never achieve it, but in the end she cried only to imitate denji’s own emotions.

Dazai however? I don’t think csm au dazai would be a makima copy where he’s also emotionless. Would he be like makima where she was raised (i think? I don’t remember very well) by the government? Because i think that would be interesting. I feel like he’d THINK he’s emotionless because he’s a devil but in reality that’s far from the truth. He acts like a silly guy in front of others and thinks it’s his way of acting more human to fit in with the others. He refuses to see the human parts of himself because he’s a devil AND because he believes they’re all just an act that has gone too far and now he’s convinced himself that he experiences human emotions like everyone else.. but noo… he DOES truly feel the things he feels.. ue ue uee..🤕🤕

Listen i get that in bsd arahabaki is just pure power. He’s no god or anything but in csm he would be a demon with it’s own thoughts and that’s just horrible.

He would just be like a lil permanent devil on chuuya’s shoulder that he just can’t get rid of. Instead of being like a little brother like yoru seems to sort of act like a little sister to asa he is just an asshole that chuuya can hear. The idea of arahabaki having a mind of it’s own and having his own conscience sounds terrible and i pity chuuya in this lil au idea.

I get that arahabaki is a feral freak bc he literally just doesn’t even have a mind of his own but even if he did I imagine him still being a freaky lil fucker. He takes control of chuuya’s body sometimes just to mess things up. A DISPLEASURE to be around. But chuuya kinda learned to tune him out. Do you think at some point chuuya would get attached to him? Kinda like how denji kept saying to himself “yeah i could never be friends with her” when referring to power but still ended up loving her despite her having like.. basically no genuinely good traits.

WAIT I HAD A THOUGHT BOYCACA!! If we're going with the idea that arahabaki would be the actual incarnate of the god or whatever it is in canon then would that in turn make Chuuya for the destruction/annihilation devil? Like catastrophe, unexpected death, razing everything to the ground type insurmountable devastation. Then arahabaki could really do some damage to him mentally that way.

And yes I think Chuuya would or could grow attached to him if so. Like if he was taken by arahabaki (maybe he names him that) it would be like that relationship we see in venom maybe with th give and take for both sides. Maybe arahabki needed his body to survive. In turn, arahabaki would have saved Chuuya's life and that's a debt he feels he can never repay, one that he will forever owe the devil, so he would get attached to it much quicker than arahabaki would to him. I just think he would be less willing to admit it until something really really bad happens.

ARGHHH ACTUALLY I JUST THOUGHT OF ANOTHER THING. I dont know if this will make sense or how to properly word this but yknow how bsd has the ada, pm, doa and the guild but csm only has devil hunters??? So technically wouldn’t they all have to work together in some way instead of them all being enemies? Unless some of them are separated as different groups like the guild being devil hunters located in america and doa being a whole separate villainous group or whatever then I don’t see why the ada and pm couldn’t be combined.. because if they’re all devil hunters then why are they against each other. 😭
