just look at the condition of these victims. I can't imagine what they feel, and what a terrible pain it is.

unfortunately, the world leaders, who once guaranteed Ukraine complete protection, are trying to turn a blind eye to the fact that the russians are once again violating all international human and environmental laws.

I don't get tired of reminding and asking each of you not to stop supporting Ukrainians, spreading information about the russian war in Ukraine and not tolerating everything russian to show criminal russia and world leaders that you do not tolerate russian terrorism, its culture and products!

Last week the International Olympic Committee announced that it will allow the participation of Russia and Belorussian athletes in the 2024 Olympics.

They would not be allowed to represent their country, though how that even works in the Olympics is weird and not much of a restriction since everyone will actually know who these athletes represent.

I don't much care about the Olympics, but the world does and no matter what some people try to claim, the Olympics are the most political sport event there is and so yes, it does matter and no, baring members of the country from competing is no where near anything resembling a "punishment of average Russian people who are also victims".

That's not how the Olympics work in Russia. Technically Russia wasn't allowed to participate last time either. Their athletes were credited to the Russian Olympic Committee rather than Russia. The reason was doping. But as you might imagine, that's a pathetic attempt at any punishment. Everyone knew who they were.

The idea that they may not be able to propagandize directly while participating changes nothing to how Russia will spin it locally or what they will do when they get back. I don't care if they're being told what to do and say. If that's the case, then there's even more reason not to enable Russian abuse of their people by not allowing them to use them in this way.

Fact is that Olympics play a huge part in Russian sense of national pride. Not allowing their athletes to display Russian symbols will only be framed as another source of Russia as victims. It will not finish their nationalistic ferver or gloating for any event they do well in. I'm sure they will also complain any time their athletes don't do well as a biased result.

And if their athletes do well, they will be representing their state on that pedestal, which has directly led to the death of almost 200 Ukrainian Athletes. Ukranian athletes are on the front lines or refugees or risk death just by existing in Ukraine right now. And the IOC is saying this is ok, as long as the athletes of the country doing this to ours aren't allowed to wave their flag at the event. It's a slap in the face and another case of global powers letting Russia get away with it.

Daily there are Russian attacks and losses of Ukranian lives.

Today they shelled Kherson. Massive damage reported. This is a photo from one of the hospital's hit.

In case people have forgotten or gotten used to it, Russia continues to shell civilian areas and infrastructure, including great distances from any front lines. This is against every law and rule of engagement. As in, Russia commits war crimes DAILY.

Casualties also reported in a city in Donetsk oblast, at least 3 civilians killed known so far.

And the IOC says that those who live through this every day should stand next to those who represent the country doing this and shake hands and show good sportsmanship and compete to entertain the world?

From Chechnya to Georgia to Ukraine.

I can't imagine placing Ukrainian athletes in the same space as Russian ones and their teams. Nearly every Ukranian has been touched by the war through profound loss. Every time Russia is allowed to participate alongside Ukraine it normalizes and diminishes Russian aggression and Ukrainian suffering to the global community.

Recent events at the Australian open which has allowed Russian participation, is just a taste of what letting Russia compete in 2024 will be like.

Pro-War Russians will bring their signs and slogans if their athletes can't. And when they can't do so in the venue they will do so outside them.

I wish I believed people would do something like a boycott but I've lost faith in the world sometime ago.

But maybe some will. Anything will help. You can try to reach out to your local OC in your country to urge them to stand up against Russian participation, but I don't know how much that will do anything as there is so much money and sponsorships wrapped up in it all.

I will try to post any activities or actions going on that others can help support. For now, there's a change.org petition. I know it won't do much, but I refuse to do absolutely nothing. So sign of you can and pass it on please.

Yeah I’d go as far as to say Thomas Bach is a Russian-paid puppet. This shit is ridiculous and disgusting. “Sports and politics should be separate” ok what’s political about dead Ukranians?? The world has given them too many chances, the Olympic committee specifically have given them WAY too many chances considering their state run doping. They continuously take advantage of their chances. They keep getting away with a weak slap on the wrist, why do you think they never change? A neutral flag isn’t good enough. All Russian and Belarusian athletes need to be completely banned. And if not, when Ukraine boycotts, so should every other country. Make them feel the world’s opposition to their governments evilness and suffer in it.

Ukraine ends boycott of competitions with neutral Russian, Belarusian athletes

Ukrainian athletes will be able to compete alongside Belarusians and Russians if they maintain a neutral status, Sports Minister Vadym Gutzeit announced on July 26.

The ministry’s order still prohibits Ukrainian athletes from participating in competitions “where athletes representing the Russian Federation and/or the Republic of Belarus compete under their national flags."

If there is any sign of breach of the neutral status, the order states that the national team has to terminate its participation in an event.

In March 2023, Ukrainian officials announced the decision to boycott joint competitions with athletes from Russia and Belarus.

Gutzeit said on TV last week that he cannot give the green light for tournaments or competitions involving Russians and Belarusians. As a result of this policy, Ukrainian grandmaster Vasyl Ivanchuk was not allowed leave the country for the 2023 Chess World Cup.

A day ago, the International Olympic Committee announced that it did not invite Russia and Belarus to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. It has not made a decision about Russian and Belarusian athletes with a neutral status.

please boycott and don't spread russian music, literature, movies, series, art and russian artists! don't use trending russian music on Instagram or TikTok, don't popularize the culture of a terrorist country!

and please be sure to point it out to other social media users. this is the minimum you can do to avoid unnecessary trauma to the victims of russian aggression. the victims should not see the tolerance of the culture of the state that kills and tortures them every day, that destroys entire cities and creates environmental disasters killing hundreds of people!
