Okay you know what, the Breaking Bad writers actually kind of wrote themselves into a corner with Gus because I’m sorry, there is no reason Walt should’ve beaten him. Gus had Walt completely figured out SO fast and he knew how to play to Walt’s ego perfectly, not to mention Gus had been succeeding for so long before Walt ever came along.

OH i also dont have to say it but tonights stream was really ingenious. hype up a sequel to 2020s biggest fandom of all time with a fakeout of a different reenactment of a classic tv show, only to follow that up with another fakeout announcing that a Real Sequel to the funny scientist show from 2020 is a reality. like, fuck, the only time ive ever seen a creator with that big of an audience fuck with their audience so much was when hideo kojima was advertising mgs2 as "the next gen solid snake experience"

I just realized another parallel of season 3 episode 11 - in the beginning we have the throwback of Jane, talking about the painting of the door and how it was O’Keeffe’s home and she wanted to make that feeling last (“To me, it’s about making that feeling last”) and later when Jesse makes out with Andrea, trying to sell her the blue meth, he describes the effect of the meth and says “Man, I wish I could make this feeling last” and no I’m not okay

the black and white way people view Jesse’s whole scheme to sell to people in recovery makes me mad sometimes. It wasn’t out of character at all for him to do that. All of season 3 is about Jesse becoming the “bad guy” he thinks he is. It’s about him actualizing his self-hatred. Jesse often puts his need to punish himself and wallow in guilt over the well-being of others. (Self-hatred and how it totally destroys a person’s life is a theme with pretty much all of the characters in brba but that’s a post for another time). He is determined to hurt himself even if it hurts other people.
At the same time this doesn’t change that he’s a kind person. Good people do bad things. One of the central parts of Jesse’s character and the show in general is that “good” and “bad” people aren’t always what you expect them to be. It was an awful, greedy, and exploitative thing to do, you can’t deny that. But you also can’t deny that despite everything that he’s done and everything that’s happened to him he’s a good guy who was forced to be something he isn’t. Something something the gentleness that comes not from the absence of violence but despite the abundance of it blah blah

Decided that I hate anyone that hates Skyler and defends Walt.
