this post by @footburn inspired me in that 'you must type this out before you can do anything else' way so here. this was literally from brain to computer in about 20 minutes.
rated m this is literally just the softest and sweetest fluff, with some implied sexual content discussed

"Eds."
"Hm?"
Eddie's sleepy voice whispered against Steve's ear, his breath sending a shiver down his spine.
Steve turned his head as his hand reached over to cup the back of Eddie's head, his fingers gently gripping the frizzy strands of hair sticking out.
"Gotta get up," Steve mumbled.
The alarm clock would be going off in two minutes, a stark reminder that the real world was just outside of their bedroom and unfortunately required putting on clothes and going to work.
If he could, he'd stay like this all day, every day, for the rest of their lives.
Next to Eddie, on top of Eddie, under Eddie, any way he could possibly have him. As long as the sunlight kept streaming through the window and the warmth of Eddie's soft, sleepy smile was in view, Steve would be happy.
"Mm-mm," Eddie shook his head once, nuzzling closer so his next exhale made Steve's eyes flutter closed.
"I have to open today."
Eddie's hand settled on his shoulder, squeezing once before falling away again.
"Stupid."
"What is, baby?" Steve smirked as he watched Eddie's brows furrow as he finally started to wake up.
"Work."
Eddie's eyes fluttered open.
The alarm clock switched to 7:29.
"Call out," Eddie's eyes blinked slowly.
"I can't. It's just me today. Robs would kill me."
"But it'll kill me to watch you get out of bed," Eddie pouted.
Steve sat up, leaning on his elbow, and looked down at Eddie.
Eddie looked back up at him with those wide eyes, bottom lip out like it would actually convince Steve to stay.
The alarm clock showed 7:30.
Steve reached over to shut off the alarm as soon as it started beeping.
He leaned down to kiss his head, then his heart tattoo, then the scar on his side.
"Pleeeease?" Eddie whined. "I have today off. We could sleep and not sleep."
Steve rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but want to give in.
They had so few days like this: where one of them didn't wake up screaming or crying from a nightmare, where they weren't in pain the moment their eyes opened, where someone wasn't needing them the moment the sun rose.
It was tempting to take advantage of this moment, of this day, see where it would lead if Steve just settled back down in bed, see if they were able to sleep for another couple of hours.
Maybe wake up with lips against skin, or hands against chests or thighs.
Maybe eat breakfast in bed and make more than one type of mess.
Maybe only get up to take a shower together, scrub off the stickiness of syrup and body fluids.
Or maybe they'd get a call in 15 minutes from Dustin, who should know better than to call before ten in the morning on weekends, but does anyway because he won't admit that he misses them.
Maybe Robin would show up to shove Steve out the door for the shift he's supposed to work, pissed that he'd even try to get out of it.
Maybe Wayne would finally remember to bring that cake recipe he found in an old family cookbook and insist on helping him make it since he knows the secret.
Or maybe Steve would kiss Eddie's lips once before getting up and doing the thing he doesn't want to do today so they can enjoy their peace tomorrow.
Maybe Steve can look at the alarm clock that now reads 7:31 and think about how sometimes love is getting out of a cozy bed and going to work so you have money to pay for those concert tickets that are gonna be the best birthday present he's ever gotten.
"Love you so much, Eds," Steve whispers as he pulls away from Eddie's mouth, already longing for another kiss.
"Love you too, sweetheart. Bring ya lunch?" Eddie's eyes were getting heavy again as he turned his head into the sheets, breathing in the scent of Steve, of them.
"See you then."
At 7:32, Steve managed to go into the bathroom to shower and get ready for his day.
At 7:56, Steve kissed Eddie's forehead as he slept, careful not to wake him.
At 8:02, Steve left a note for Eddie on his way out the door, the same note he wrote for him every morning, left on his favorite mug so he wouldn't miss it when he made his coffee.
Love you, miss you, want you - your Stevie

Happy Mothers Day!!
HBO!Ellie Williams X MotherFigure!Reader
THIS CHARACTER IS UNDER 18 SO THIS FIC IS STRICTLY PLATONIC!!!!!!!
Summary: The first mothers day Ellie has ever celebrated and she's going to make sure that it's amazing.
Contents: tooth rotting fluff, happiness, extreme cuteness
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pancakes were supposed to be simple. Key word supposed.
Ellie woke up at the ass crack of dawn that morning, she had set her alarm clock for 6m and had switched yours off- discreetly forcing you into sleeping over time. She'd gathered all the ingredients the recipe had told her. Said recipe having been ripped out of the book they were originally in and found laying near a library a little outside of Jackson.
Ellie had squeezed fresh apple juice as she waited for the first pancake to cook through. A bad habit of Ellie's was losing track of time, she got carried away, squeezing the apple juice lead to her finding cutlery which lead to her cleaning said cutlery which lead to finding the right tray to put the silverware on. Ending up with the smell of burning flooding the kitchen.
She slammed the kitchens door, attempting to stop the smoke from wafting through the house alerting you of her antics and waking you up. She opened the window, the chilly air ventilating out the smell of smoke before she turned off the stove.
To say the pancake was a little crisp would be a bit of an understatement.
Shit. She only had enough for two, one for you, one for her. Oh well... She'll have the burnt one, today's about you anyways.
Take two was a little more successful a bit crisp on the edges but it'll do. She flopped them onto the two blue and white china plates- covering yours in fruit and hers in chocolate, balancing them on a wooden tray with the two glasses of juice before she took to the stairs.
She nudged open the door with her foot as she walked into the dark room, curtains closed and blocking out the ever insistent sunrise from seeping into your bedroom.
Cautiously, she placed the tray on your bedside table quietly before tiptoeing over to you window and drawing the curtains apart- the warm glow of the morning lightening the space.
Ellie watched as your eyes fluttered open. "Fuck kiddo. What time is it?" You grunted rolling over to look at your alarm clock 7:45am. 1 hour and 30 minutes late for patrol. Before you opened your mouth the soft voice of your daughter interrupted you.
"Don't worry Mom... I talked to Maria and she cancelled your patrol today" her hand gestured towards the tray of overlooked pancakes, before she whispered a shy "Happy mothers day mama..."
"Oh sweet girl come here" you opened your eyes as a blur of brown hair launched itself at you, her arms wrapping around you and giggling when you pecked her forehead lovingly.
"I tried to make you breakfast. It's not the best but-"
"It looks amazing kiddo. Thank you so much_ you smiled into her hair, before scooching up the bed- your back meeting the headboard as you move the tray onto your lap.
You took a bite of the fruit covered pancake, and honestly you couldn't tell whether or not Ellie was a culinary genius or you were just a smitten mother. Because fuck it tasted good.
Ellie's doe eyes looked up at you expectantly and with worry and anticipation. "Well done Ellie. This tastes so so so so good. You gotta cook for me more often now kid." You hummed, she seemed content with your answer.
"oh wait I got you something else" the girl said darting off your bed and out of the room before swiftly returning with what looked like... A sketch book? "I uh didn't really know what to get you and I thought you would enjoy something personal... So..." She shoved the sketch book into your hands "here."
You set your food aside, opting to open up the leather bound pad of paper instead. The first page read.
To Mom.
I know how much you like my drawings so I decided to put something together for you. Happy Mothers day.
Love Ellie.
You flipped to the next page and there was a beautiful sketch of you, sitting a the barstool of your kitchen island, glasses resting on the bridge of your nose as you read a new recipe
The next one was of you and Ellie. She had sketched out and traced the photo you both took in the malls arcade.
The next one was of a cartoon giraffe wearing a space suit on the moon.
It went on and on and on for 80 pages, sketches of you, her favourite things, her favourite hobbies, her favourite people it was so so so beautiful.
A single tear dripped down your cheek, "come over here baby" you sniffles hugging your girl tightly "my baby's so talented..." You hummed hands playing with her hair as she smiled joyfully.
"Thank you so much kiddo.."

KONIG RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS
ft. GN!reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: none
debated actually asking you out in his head for about 30 minutes, he managed eventually but was incredibly nervous to come off as weird or creepy
would probably take you to a nice breakfast place, pretty damn nervous he fumbles his sentences sometimes especially if he's talking to you in english
he doesn't stutter when he's nervous but he does ramble
foots the bill on the date, he asked and would feel like a dick if he didn't treat you when he asked you out
asks you to go on a walk after, and man he has them long strides you might have to ask him to slow down but its nice either way. ends up taking you down this nature path, kind of more of a hike
turns out he likes bird watching, he has bird facts
ask him his bird facts.
but seriously he has a journal with pictures he's taken, he'll show you. just don't expect to be able to read his notes
his hand writing is atrocious
if you end up joining him, guy is in heaven really. just you, him in a quiet corner of the park listening to the song birds
later in the relationship you'll probably see how much Konig likes doing little things for you, washing dishes when its your day, making you coffee or tea in the morning, he just really likes being useful to you
loves cooking for you too, and frankly hes incredible at it
probably ends up making you a lot of traditional austrian food, might call up his grandmother if he can't remember a recipe
makes breakfast in bed for you just because he can, no special occasion he just likes letting you know you're loved and cared for
always a bit iffy with pda don't get me wrong he has no problem with hugging, holding your hand, or putting an arm over your shoulder but anything more than a small peck is alot for him
that being said very much enjoys cuddling in private, he likes to feel as close as possible to you when he's free from his missions its not exactly an easy job so he really does enjoy the domesticity at home
while he always tries his best to be considerate he can end up being pretty messy, its not uncommon to see alot of his clothes piled up beside the hamper inside of in it
and his shoes are just everywhere?? like one is by the couch but one is also in under the bed
no he does not know how it got there either

[ID: A sandwich on a ciabatta roll; a plate of tomato sliced and a glass of mint lemonade are in the background. End ID]
Tofu sandwich with garlic-lemon sauce
A sweet, savory, and well-spiced glaze clinging to fried, crispy tofu. The zest and brightness of garlic-lemon mayonnaise complement the depth of the glaze. A great breakfast sandwich or weekend lunch option when eaten with your choice of bread and toppings.
Recipe under the cut!
Patreon | Tip jar
Ingredients:
For the sandwiches:
4 ciabatta rolls, or other bread
Bean sprouts or other greens
For the tofu:
1 block (350g) extra firm tofu
2-3 Tbsp potato starch, or cornstarch
Oil to fry
For the tofu slurry:
2 scallions, sliced (optional)
2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil, or olive oil
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp light soy sauce
1/2 Tbsp light brown sugar
1 tsp sriracha or chili garlic sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp Sichuan pepper
Pinch ground fennel
Pinch ground sumac
Pinch ground cubeb pepper (Piper cubeba; kabab chini; كبابة صينى)
Pinch smoked paprika
1 Tbsp cornstarch
Cubeb berries may be found in the spice section of a south Asian grocery store, where they will be labelled "kabab chini." They are sometimes mistaken for allspice, but cubeb berries are smaller and more consistent in size, are darker in color, and have a slightly 'wrinkled' appearance. They have a pungent, camphorous, and sharp aroma. If you don't have any, you may replace them with equal parts black pepper and allspice; or a pinch of ground Indian black cardamom.
For the garlic mayo:
1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
1 large clove garlic, grated
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp table salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Water, if necessary
Instructions:
For the garlic mayo:
1. Mix all ingredients except water in a small mixing bowl. Add water or lemon juice until desired consistency is achieved. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
For the marinade:
1. Pulverise scallion with salt in a mortar and pestle, and mix with other ingredients; or add all ingredients to a blender and combine.
For the tofu:
1. Drain tofu, wrap in a kitchen towel, and press under a flat, heavy object for 20-30 minutes.
2. If your block of tofu is particularly thick, slice it into two thinner slabs; then halve it widthwise to make four pieces. The tofu in the photo has only been halved widthwise to make two, thicker pieces.
3. Coat tofu in potato starch or cornstarch.
4. Heat 1/2" (1cm) of a neutral oil in a skillet on medium. Fry tofu slices, flipping once, until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Set aside.
5. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat (or remove the oil from the one you used earlier). Add tofu and marinade and cook, pushing the marinade onto the tofu slices and flipping occasionally, until marinade is clinging to the tofu.
To assemble:
1. Add cooked tofu to sandwiches along with greens, tomatoes, avocado, or sliced onion as desired. Top with garlic mayo.

How Good the RvB Main Cast is at Cooking, Ranked from Best to Worst
1. Donut
Donut gives off the vibe of one of those gay men with a baking channel on YouTube. This man's out here rolling up to the red team monthly dinner club with frenched rack of lamb with a pistachio mint crust and wine accompaniment, then earl grey souffle with creme anglaise for dessert. He spends hours experimenting with new and interesting ingredients. Remy Ratatouille, send-you-back-to-rural-France ass man. Donut's food fucks hard and everyone knows it.
2. Grif
You really think my man Grif loves food as much as he does and doesn't know how to make it? C'mon. He doesn't, like, relish the act of cooking as much as he does having a good plate of food at the end of it. And he's not typically much for sharing. But my guy makes a damn good short rib and bechamel lasagna. Give him the day to let something slow cook, and god damn.
3. Wash
Wash has been living off of MREs for probably his entire adult life, but I feel like he's got a few dishes he can whip out for a date night, or if he's feeling fancy. He knows how to read a recipe, and he has a pretty good idea of what flavors go together to make something good. He probably has a really nice papardelle with vinho verde sauce that he has sitting around in the back of his head for special occasions.
4. Tucker
Okay, Tucker isn't a bad cook by any means, ok? He's great with breakfast food specifically. It's just that he isn't especially fancy about it. He was probably, like, a line cook at Denny's in high school, so all his food tastes like food you would get at Denny's. Which isn't a bad thing! You would just never call Denny's "fine dining". He has his niche, and he does it well, and he never feels even a little bit inclined to do anything different or better.
5. Church (Alpha)
Church isn't much of a foodie right off the bat, but someone's got to pack Caboose's lunch, and he ends up learning how to cook fairly well after that. After a certain point, he figures out how to make things from scratch--mostly things like chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, pancakes.
6. Simmons
I feel like Simmons mostly lives off of shit like green smoothies and homemade granola. Like, hardcore, low carb, vegan, all organic, high protein diet. And, like, it doesn't taste BAD. But it definitely isn't the kind of thing you bring to the red team dinner club. He does make a really nice sunbutter brownie that he has to hide from Grif.
7. Caboose
Caboose has been banned from using any objects in the kitchen that involve a heat source--which isn't HIS fault! How was he supposed to know that you're supposed to take the spoon OUT of the mac and cheese before putting it in the microwave? That's just a recipe for a cold spoon! Anyways, he manages just fine without the microwave, thank you very much. He can make ants on a log like it's nobody's business. Cleaning up afterwards is another matter entirely.
8. Carolina
Carolina is one of the most competent individuals you will ever meet. She could kill you in under a minute, in 30 different ways, and that's just with her bare hands. The fourth time Sarge tries to recruit her into red team is by inviting her to the monthly dinner club. She shows up empty handed, and when Donut very politely asks what she brought, she replies that it's very interesting that they expected the only woman on the team to go all out with cooking. They move on. Carolina spent 5 hours in the kitchen this afternoon trying to figure out how to use the oven. But they don't need to know that.
9. Tex
Now, listen. Tex can't be called a bad cook, precisely, because that would require she cook for herself or others. Which is something she does not do. That's what Church is for, isn't it?
10. Sarge
Sarge refuses to step foot in a kitchen after the fifth shouting match about how flamethrowers are not a universally recognized kitchen appliance.
11. Church (Epsilon)
One time, while blue team is shooting the wind, Caboose asks Epsilon what his favorite breakfast food is. Instead of calling Caboose a dumbass, as per usual, he instead goes into extensive detail about how he eats computer keys like cereal. Caboose tries it. It isn't very good.

My first sourdough in about a year—jalapeño cheddar pepperoni bread! The flavor was sooooo good, and the crust texture was absolutely addictive. Great with soup and with good Irish butter. The crumb could use a little work but still, yum. Recipe here, extra notes under the cut.
I used about 80g shredded cheese, 2 large pickled jalapeños (votes were split on whether it could use 3), and all the pepperoni we had, so this kinda proportion:
Tumblr media
This dough can be very wet and sticky so I dusted it with quite a lot of flour. I used to just mix the fillings into the dough after autolyzing, but this time, I was successful in flattening the dough, sprinkling the fillings on top, and then gently wrapping it into a ball for the stretch and folds.
I did 6 stretch & folds, then ended up letting it rest 5 hours instead of the prescribed 3 (had too much fun at a New Year’s party) before shaping, so it may have overproofed, but then again, New England winter! Things take time.
I preheated the oven to 500F/260C with the Dutch oven inside, letting it heat maybe 20-30 minutes. I then added the dough and baked it covered for 20 minutes, then lowered the temp to 450F/230C, uncovered it, and baked another 10-15.
What else. Gosh, I think this would make a great breakfast, or a side for tomato soup. My brother would like me to add polenta, like with this bread. The pepperoni added a ton of flavor, especially considering how little I put in. Definitely worth working on this recipe!

Cruising to new life - part 6
As we rose on the third day of the cruise, we managed to catch the sunrise. Just sitting on our room balcony, watching the sky get lighter and lighter was magical. I sat with Jodie hand in hand, snuggled up in our dressing gowns just relaxing and enjoying the moment.
“You know what we didn’t do?” Jodie broke the silence.
“Whats that?” I answered.
“We didn’t book my spa appointment, with everything that happened the other day.”
With that, we resolved that we would sort that out today – likelihood is that with essentially spa appointments free of charge, we may have been too late and missed the boat (I know, sorry, bad choice of words) on it… but we kept our fingers crossed.
As we retreated back into the room to get dressed for the day, Jodie settled on a bikini and a cover up, announcing that today was going to be all about warming her bump under the sun and drinking as many fake ass margaritas as she could handle.
I laughed at her announcement. We had noticed that the bars actually seemed to have a healthy stock of non-alcoholic cocktail recipes on board. We weren’t sure if we could find a margarita exactly, but we were sure we could find something slushy that could do in a pinch.
I settled on a tee shirt and shorts, and with that, we set off for breakfast, already having been awake for a couple of hours, we were both starving. Breakfast itself was quiet – it was still early, and we were thankful we had beaten the rush. As much as were looking forward to meeting our little munchkin that was growing inside my wife’s belly, we had learned long ago that big groups of families with lots of small kids all yelling and screaming in unison was not really something we enjoyed. I’m dreading this little kiddie’s future birthday parties!
We made quick work of our breakfast, and continued up to the family pool area. We had around an hour before the spa opened, so settled back into a sun lounger and caught the morning sun as it rose higher and higher in the sky. Just as I thought I was dozing off, I heard a buzzing next to me. Jodie grabbed her phone and tapped on the screen. “Time to go!” she announced. I realised that she had actually set a timer to get us to the spa as early as possible – she was certainly a woman on a mission.
After giving her a hand up, we left a towel on the lounger in hopes that it would deter anyone from using them by the time we got back – we had found some very nice spots – and headed back down to deck 5. A member of the spa staff greeted us at the door, holding it open as we walked in. The reception area was nicely decorated, plenty of wood and plants – I suppose it was the norm for this sort of thing – celebrating nature, life and all that type of jazz.
Jodie asked about a possibility of a massage, and the receptionist looked through, advising her that all appointments had been booked for this week so far, and she could get a spot next week. She looked a bit dejected, but accepted that at least she was going to get her massage – just had to hope that she hadn’t given birth before then!
The staff were all smiles as they said that they could easily convert a maternity massage to a sports massage if I wanted to take your place should that happen. I honestly think that Jodie’s eyes were staring daggers at the lady as she announced that little titbit of information.
Suddenly the phone rang. The lady excused herself and picked up the phone. After a series of discussions, she announced that one of the other guests had actually cancelled for a session which was due to start in 30 minutes, so she could take that one instead.
I had never seen my wife smile so much. She was elated when she saw the pregnancy test, when she saw the baby for the first time on the ultrasound, and hell, even when we got married, but I seriously think that her smile could have gone from ear to ear at that announcement.
We were booked in, and filled in the questionnaire they handed us about any issues that she may have been having, that sort of thing. We said our goodbyes as she went off for her massage, but as she waddled off down the corridor to meet her massage therapist, I spotted something out of the corner of my eye.
“Is that available for after her massage by any chance?” I asked, pointing at an entry on the board of the spa area. A quick tap on the computer had confirmed that indeed it was – so I booked a 30 minute slot for myself and Jodie for after her massage.
The receptionist beamed “please come here a few minutes ahead of schedule sir and we will send your wife straight over after she is done with her massage.” I thanked the lady and headed back to deck 10 to enjoy the rising sun.
Jodie entered the treatment room to find a seat and a bed. The seat was a little unusual though – it was intended that you would straddle it – there was a hole for the belly and the head – it was so your back could be exposed without needing to lie down. The therapist explained that she would be in that for the first 30 minutes, getting her back and shoulders done, then she would move to the bed for a more traditional maternity massage, lying on her side with a pillow to support her bump.
After a quick check if she would need to be naked – indeed she would need to be – the therapist left the room so she could undress. She bundled up the coverup, and her bikini top and bottoms into the corner of the room, and looked at the chair. It had a paper cover at the bottom where you sat on for hygiene purposes, so she swung her legs over and pulling her weight over on a positioned grab rail next to the chair, slotted her belly into the hole on the padded rest. She tentatively leaned forward so her head was resting in the hole designed for it, the cushioned padding feeling warm to the touch. Between the hole in the back of the chair for her bump, and the slightly tilted forward position it left her head, she was surprised how comfortable it was – her breasts weren’t squashed up against the back of the chair or anything.
There was a knock at the door and a few moments later the therapist entered, smiling that Jodie had managed to get herself situated on the chair by herself. The therapist put on some relaxing music, poured oils onto her hands and told Jodie to relax, as she started moving her hands up and down her back, finding knots and tense areas all the way down her spine as Jodie could do nothing else but groan in appreciation.
For the next 30 minutes, Jodie was lost in her own little trance. The massage therapist moved up and down her back, squeezing and massaging her shoulders and the back of her neck, and then returning to her back once again. Jodie may have even fell asleep at one point, as she felt as soon as she had started, the 30 minutes were up, and the massage therapist was asking her to move over to the bed.
Jodie groaned – partly through enjoying the service so far, and partly as she really didn’t want to move from the comfortable position she was in, but taking the massage therapists hands, she managed to swing her leg back over the chair and wobbly stand on her own 2 feet. Steadying herself for a second, she waddled over to the bed across the room.
The massage therapist advised that she should lay down on the side of her choice, and she would need to move over to the other side after a few minutes – no lying on her back with a bump by all accounts. She chose to lay facing right at first, with the massage therapist laying a blanket over her and tucking it into place so she was fully covered with her head exposed.
The therapist moved over and sat down so she was at eye level with Jodie as she started to massage her face and temple. Jodie admitted it felt strange getting only half of her face massaged, but appreciated the fact that she would have had to lie with her belly to her side – she knew fine well how uncomfortable it was having the full weight of her baby pressing straight down on her insides if she was lying directly on her back.
The therapist moved down to massage her arm and hand on the exposed side, digging her thumbs in the appropriate places on Jodie’s palms to once more have her elicit a groan of appreciation.
Next to be massaged was her belly, though the therapist only used a light touch and didn’t apply any significant pressure, but it was clear that the baby within was enjoying it as much as the mother was, as bumps and pokes continued for minutes after the therapist had left the area, much to the amusement of both ladies.
Finally she moved down to Jodie’s hips and legs, as she massaged her thighs, once more using both hands to press her thumbs into Jodie’s skin, and whilst it was painful for a fraction of a second, the aches soon melted away under the expert touch of the masseuse.
As she moved further down the legs to Jodie’s ankles she managed to ask if that was safe – she’d heard things about ankle massage promoting the onset of labour. The masseuse gave a small laugh but reassured her that it was indeed safe, though once she was actually in labour, it had been suggested that massaging the feet and ankles helped relieve pain during contractions – so to perhaps keep that in mind when the time came.
Jodie managed a quick word of thanks as the ministrations of the masseuse send her lulling back into a blissful doze, thumbs of the masseuse digging into the soles of her feet and rubbing around her heels and ankles – the natural swelling in those areas deserving a lot more attention to relieve the aches and pains of carrying all the additional baby weight.
She was asked to sit up and re-position herself on her other side where it started all over again – face, arms, hands, belly, hips, legs and finally feet. At the end Jodie didn’t even know which way was up and down.
Jodie was given a hand up by the masseuse, who grabbed a clean dressing gown from the shelf next to her and wrapped it around Jodie in order to preserve her modesty as she sat back down again on the bed.
“Now drink plenty of water” she advised Jodie who nodded in turn, managing a dozy sounding confirmation by way of response. She was drifting on cloud nine right now, her entire body feeling ache free and loose. “I understand your husband has arranged a special surprise for you after your massage was finished, so if you’re OK with that, I’ll lead you to where he is waiting rather than to reception?”
Jodie’s attention jumped at that news. She wondered what was planned. Taking a tentative step up from the bed, she grabbed her clothes and followed the masseuse out of the treatment room and down the corridor. As they came to a door, Jodie noticed a sign saying ‘Rasul’ on the door. The masseuse keyed in a code and the two of them walked into a changing room of sorts, evidence of 1 set of clothing was hung up on the pegs, which Jodie recognised as being what I had been wearing earlier in the day – all of what I had been wearing.
The masseuse picked up the loose threads that were going through Jodie’s mind. “Please, when you are ready, you may lay your clothing down here, and take off your robe. Feel free to join your husband in the next room. I will lock the door behind me. Enjoy.” She smiled as she turned and walked out, the door lock clicking into place.
Jodie laid the bundle of clothes she was carrying down onto a seat in the corner of the room and opened the robe, hanging it up on a peg next to my own clothes. Taking sight of the door into the next room, she turned the handle and opened it to find me sitting there, stark naked.
“Come in babe.” I offered with a beaming smile on my face, my gorgeous wife silhouetted by the doorway. I stood up and walked over, cock swaying as I stepped across the room, watching her eyes home in on it and the smile light up on her face.
I took her hand and lead her over to the area I was sitting in – a long multi person bench which was covered in the same ceramic tiles as the rest of the room was decorated in. On top of this bench area were several cushions which were wrapped in a plastic or fake leather style covering which kept them waterproof and easy to wipe down.
“I know you shouldn’t be spending too long on your feet after having your entire body massaged to extreme levels, so please take a seat.” She did as I asked and settled herself down onto the cushion. “I read something about these being offered on the brochure and I knew we had to try it… a mud rasul. Basically what we do is cover each other in these pots of mud…” she noticed the pots now that I was pointing to “… and from there we have fun whilst it dries and moisturises your skin. Then we wash it off.”
“Oh really. What sort of fun do we have whilst its drying?” she asked, her mind already working to consider what I could offer.
“What sort of fun do you think 2 adults could have in the privacy of a locked room and 30 minutes to ourselves?” I answered, my own voice sounding mischievous.
“I can think of a few things you are really good at doing…” she purred at this point, relaxing into the seat as I grabbed the pot of mud and scooped out a large handful, smearing it on her belly. We took it in turns grabbing handfuls of mud from the pot and smearing it over each other’s body, our hands becoming a slippy mess as we smeared ourselves head to toe – well at least Jodie was smeared head to toe – I had to make do with whatever she could reach from her sitting position, but I had plenty of it covered in key spots – including 2 rather interesting hand prints on my butt as she slapped and grabbed.
As soon as we were covered in mud, we moved into rubbing each other and kissing, my hands finding her breasts, making patterns in the mud and playing with her nipples as she begged me to use my hands elsewhere. I did as I was asked, washing the mud off my hands with the jet of water available to one side as she parted her legs, her pussy lips a bright pink spot in the middle of a sea of brown mud.
My two fingers slipped in effortlessly, she was wet and waiting for me. I was grinning as I inserted them, offering “I didn’t know that the massage was that good.” She didn’t respond, just moaned loud as my fingers pushed in deeper, suddenly stopping and hooking them up to rub against her insides, dangerously close to her arousal zone. She was pleading at me with her eyes as I twitched my fingers back and forth, her head lolling backwards as she could do nothing else but moan again in obvious appreciation.
I spent a few minutes teasing the area as her hands roamed my body, eventually jump-grabbing her hands to my hair and pulling hard as her orgasm took over. She was quivering in my hands as I moved my fingers slowly back and forth, each movement setting her off again. She managed to tell me not to stop as I kept on doing the same for a good 30 seconds, she was eventually a panting wreck, managing a weak call for me to stop as she couldn’t take it anymore.
I hadn’t had my fill though. I got her to hold her legs back in a pseudo pushing pose, as I wrapped my arms around behind her breasts, grasping my hands together behind her, tipping her back as I supported her. She was hesitant at first, her only contact with the seat at this point was her ass and she was very concerned with slipping off, but as I thrust into her, her eyes rolled back into her head and any anxiety about moving was lost as I pressed her deeper and deeper into the seat with each thrust.
She pulled on her knees as she felt the next orgasm build, separating her legs more and giving me another fraction of an inch to go deeper, our mud-covered bodies slapping together with slick, gloopy sounds as I trusted back and forth. We had the idea that we were in a semi-public place in the back of our minds, even though the door was locked, but that made it all the more thrilling in the moment. She lost any inhibition as she approached her second orgasm of the session, her breathy moans changing to vocal yells as the feelings inside her reached higher and higher peaks of excitement. Jodie’s enjoyment fuelled me as I reached my climax, my own gasping moans joining hers as she felt the surge of liquid shoot from me and my twitching cock move inside her as it deposited spurt after spurt.
I let her lower her legs down and helped keep her upright as she managed to shakily put them on the ground, both of our breaths coming in panting gasps, exertion from the recent surge of activity enough to leave us out of breath. My own hands were shaky and my arms aching as I grabbed the shower head to the side and suggested we should get cleaned up.
I’d dare say we had as much fun washing off the mud as we had putting it on. The water was warmed to body temperature so it wasn’t unnecessarily too hot or cold, just our hands rubbing against each other. We finished with moving back into the changing room next door, into the shower in the changing room, where we finally found one on the ship which could accommodate both of us and the bump comfortably. Keeping an eye on the clock – 25 minutes of our 30 minute session had passed – we spent the next few minutes towelling each other down, enjoying the soft feel of the exquisite towels that were provided against our skins. I gave Jodie a hand to get back into her bikini and cover up, taking a moment to pull on my own shorts and tee shirt as I pushed the robe she had entered the room with into the wash basket. As we unlocked the door and caught sight of one of the ladies from the spa, she smiled.
“I hope you’re both nice and relaxed now, and I really hope you enjoyed our rasul room. Its unusual to have on a ship, but Mr LeGrand was very insistent that it should be included when the ship was designed.”
“If I see him, ill tell him thanks, it was wonderful.” I replied, my hand gravitating towards Jodie’s back as we waved goodbye to the staff, left the room and headed back up to the pool deck.
We were fully expecting that our reserved beds would have been taken by others since the day was now getting close to lunchtime, but to our surprise, both beds were free. Jodie settled down and sent me off to get her a water – all the exertion taking it out of her, along with the recommendation form the masseuse fresh in her mind. By the time I got back, she was asleep on the sun lounger.

Oyster Omelet 蚵仔煎
Tumblr media
You'll see oysters incorporated in a lot of Taiwanese cuisine: pancakes, soups, noodle dishes and more. It is an island after all. Oyster omelet is a classic dish in Taiwan, and I prefer sweeter Pacific oysters for this. Traditionally, some sort of starch is incorporated into the egg batter so you get this mochi-like texture. To be honest, I get grossed out when it's too "stretchy" or sticky, especially in an egg dish, because it tastes like it is under-cooked. Ugh.
For 1-2 servings:
6 oysters
2 large eggs
1 green onion, sliced
1 tbsp. sweet potato starch
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/8 tsp. ground white pepper
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. water
1/2 c. chrysanthemum greens, lightly packed
Shuck and remove oysters from the shell. Set aside. In a small mixing bowl, mix together eggs, green onion slices, sweet potato starch, salt and ground white pepper (1/8th is really just a few cranks on the ol' pepper grinder but for those who like to be precise).
Heat vegetable oil in a nonstick pan over medium-low heat. Add egg mixture and cook until the bottom is partially set. Transfer oyster meat on top, let it cook for about a minute. Add chrysanthemum greens on top and flip the omelet. Let it sit for about 30-seconds or until the egg is cooked. Serve as a shared breakfast dish or keep it to yourself.
I purposefully did not include toppings in the recipe because I feel like people are picky with the way they eat their eggs? It's probably my own personal thing. I like topping it with a Taiwanese chili sauce and some green onions. Even spicy ketchup will do.

Anyone who wants to know how to make the perfect traditional Japanese breakfast should definitely check this post out.
Today, I’m going to show you how to cook the perfect traditional Japanese breakfast.
Freshly steamed rice and miso soup are the staples to Japanese everyday meal. Japanese rice is short-grain rice.
Unlike long-grain rice, it is moist + a little sticky and tastes sweeter.
I recommend to choose Japanese rice, but it is relatively expensive outside of Japan.
The best alternative is medium-grain rice like California rice.
You can choose brown rice or white rice with multi-grain.
Miso soup is another important factor of our meal.
Miso is basically a fermented soy bean paste which has a beautiful aroma and plenty of health benefits.
Miso soup warms up your body and boosts your immune system immediately after eating.
In addition to miso soup and rice, one or two side dishes are prepared to balance out the nutrition.
Tamagoyaki is an all-time favorite. I don’t know why, but I’ve never gotten tired of it!
Hiyayakko (cold tofu) is the perfect source of protein for anyone.
Obviously, Japanese breakfast is much healthier than cereal and milk. It takes time, but it's totally worth it in a long run.
If you like the usual breakfast, you can follow the recipes for each dish that's a part of this breakfast that I prepared for myself.
Tumblr media
First, let's start with the preparation of rice.
Tips to cook perfect rice (in a pot)
Measure and Rinse: Measure the rice and rinse thoroughly under cold water.
Soak: Place the rinsed rice in a pot and add water using the 1:1.2 ratio. Let the rice soak for 30 minutes to an hour. Soaking helps the rice cook more evenly.
Cook: Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Once it's boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Rest: Remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for another 10 minutes to allow the rice to steam and achieve the perfect texture.
Tips to cook perfect rice (in a rice cooker)
Measure and Rinse: Measure the desired amount of rice and rinse it under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming too sticky.
Add Water: Place the rinsed rice in the rice cooker and add water. The general ratio is 1:1.2 (1 cup of rice to 1.2 cups of water). Adjust the water amount based on your preference for softer or firmer rice.
Cook: Close the lid and select the appropriate cooking setting. Modern rice cookers often have a specific setting for cooking short-grain rice.
Rest: Once the rice cooker signals that cooking is complete, let the rice sit for about 10 minutes with the lid closed. This allows the rice to finish steaming and results in a better texture.
Tips to cook perfect rice (in a pressure cooker)
Measure and Rinse: Measure the rice and rinse it under cold water.
Add Water: Place the rinsed rice in the pressure cooker with water, using a slightly lower ratio of 1:1.1 due to the efficient steam cooking.
Cook: Close the lid and set the pressure cooker to high pressure. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, then let the pressure release naturally.
Rest: After releasing the pressure, let the rice sit in the pressure cooker for an additional 5-10 minutes with the lid on.
Final tips
Consistency: Keep track of your water-to-rice ratio and cooking times. Consistency is key to achieving your preferred rice texture.
Personal Preference: Adjust water levels and cooking times based on whether you like your rice softer or firmer.
Storage: Store leftover rice in an airtight container and refrigerate. Reheat it by steaming or microwaving with a damp cloth to maintain moisture.
By following these steps, you can enjoy perfectly cooked rice every time, tailored to your taste. Whether you prefer using a rice cooker, pot, or pressure cooker, mastering these techniques will elevate your Japanese meals.
The second step for making a perfect breakfast like mine is the preparation of wakame miso soup.
Ingredients you'll need for wakame miso soup
Wakame seaweed
Tofu
Scallions
Miso paste
Dashi powder
Instructions
Chop scallions.
Cut tofu into cubes. Put dried wakame seaweed and tofu in a saucepan.
Add dashi powder.
Add water.
Bring to a boil on medium heat.
Lower the heat and simmer for one minute.
Turn off the heat and add miso using a miso measuring whisk (if you have it.)
Stir gently until it dissolves.
Add chopped scallions.
That’s it! Miso soup is best enjoyed when it’s hot, so serve it immediately!
The third step for making a perfect breakfast like mine is the preparation of seared/grilled salmon.
Ingredients you'll need for seared/grilled salmon
1 Sockeye salmon fillet
Salt (I use Diamond Crystal kosher salt)
Sake to clean the fish
Instructions
Marinate the salmon with sake and let rest for 10 minutes. Before salting, you want to make sure to pat the salmon surface dry with paper towels. Then, sprinkle salt liberally on all sides, especially on the skin. The salting process not only helps to remove any fishy taste but also plays a role in enhancing umami and firming up the flesh of salmon. We will then wrap the fillet in a few layers in an air-tight container before keeping it chilled in the refrigerator for at least 2 days.
After 2 days, wrap the fillet in plastic and store it in the freezer.
Broil the salmon in the oven, or it can be pan-seared or grilled. The salmon will come out tender with a flavorful crispy skin.
The fourth step for making a perfect breakfast like mine is the preparation of tamagoyaki.
Ingredients you'll need for tamagoyaki
3 eggs
Salt
Soy milk
Oil
Instructions
Blend eggs with salt and soy milk, and strain the mixture through a sieve.
Heat a tamagoyaki pan over medium heat and spread the oil.
Pour 1/3 of the egg mixture into the entire pan (1st layer.)
Roll the egg from the front to the end of the pan and move to the front.
Pour half of the egg mixture (2nd layer.) Lift the egg and move the mixture under it.
Roll the egg and pour the rest of the egg mixture (3rd layer.) Repeat the rolling process.
Transfer tamagoyaki to a plate and tweak the shape with a paper towel (or sushi mat if you have one.) The fluffy, thick tamagoyaki rolls are ready!
The fifth step for making a perfect breakfast like mine is the preparation of nukazuke.
Ingredients you'll need for nukazuke
Nukadoko
1 carrot
2 cucumbers
Daikon
Instructions
Peel and cut vegetables.
Transfer the ready-made nukadoko into an airtight container, then add water to prepare it.
Put the vegetables in the nukadoko and store the container in the fridge to pickle.
Take out the nukazuke and rinse the bran off.
Slice the pickled vegetables and savor the authentic taste of Japan with this nukazuke – the classic Japanese side dish!
The sixth step for making a perfect breakfast like mine is the preparation of spinach goma-ae.
Ingredients you'll need for spinach goma-ae
Spinach
Ground white sesame seeds
Sugar
Soy sauce
Instructions
Place a steamer basket on a pot, pour 1 cup of water, place the spinach, cover, and steam on medium heat for 1-2 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, and ground white sesame seeds, to make the sesame sauce. Mix well.
Put the spinach in a small bowl and add the sesame sauce.
Toss until properly blended.
The seventh (and final) step for making a perfect breakfast like mine is the preparation of hiyayakko.
Ingredients you'll need for hiyayakko
Chilled extra firm tofu
Soy sauce to taste
Scallions
Instructions
Take the tofu out of your refrigerator and place it on a plate.
Wash the scallions and finely chop them into small pieces.
Place the scallions on the tofu and pour soy sauce.
If you like a little fruit with the usual breakfast, you can follow the recipes for every dish that's a part of this breakfast that I prepared for Ayaka.
Tumblr media
If you have leftover rice stored in the fridge, pour water a cup of water into your rice cooker (or pot/pressure cooker) and reheat it.
If you don't, then cook a fresh serving of rice.
If you made extra wakame miso soup, pour it into a bowl and serve while it's still warm.
If you didn't, simply make some again.
The third step for making a perfect breakfast like Ayaka's is the preparation of broiled teriyaki salmon.
Ingredients you'll need for broiled teriyaki salmon
2 sockeye salmon fillets with the skin on, thinly-cut
2 tsps. teriyaki sauce
Lemon slices, for garnish
Yuzu shichimi (mixture of 7 spices)
Instructions
Preheat the broiler and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Wash and dry the salmon, and remove any remaining bones. Place the salmon on foil, skin side down.
Broil the salmon about 4 inches from heat for about 5 to 7 minutes until almost cooked. Remove the salmon from broiler and pour teriyaki sauce evenly over the filets. Return to broiler and cook for another minute or so until fish is cooked through.
Transfer the salmon to a plate, removing the skin if you like, and garnish with lemon slices.
Sprinkle yuzu shichimi onto the salmon.
The fourth step for making a perfect breakfast like Ayaka's is the preparation of bonito flakes with onions and ponzu sauce.
Ingredients you'll need for bonito flakes with onions and ponzu sauce
1 packet bonito flakes
1 onion
2 tsps. ponzu sauce
Instructions
Take the bonito flakes out of their packaging and wash them.
Put the bonito flakes in a pot with water and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Finely chop an onion into several small pieces
Put the bonito flakes in a bowl. Garnish with onions and add ponzu sauce.
The fifth step for making a perfect breakfast like Ayaka's is the preparation of spicy daikon and refreshing cucumber pickle.
Ingredients you'll need for spicy daikon and refreshing cucumber pickle
Daikon
2 cucumbers
Pickling mixture (made from balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, and water)
Chili powder
Instructions
Cut the daikon and cucumbers.
Put the sliced daikon and cucumbers in the pickling mixture. Store in a container in your refrigerator to pickle.
Take the pickled daikon and cucumbers. Serve in a bowl and sprinkle chili powder.
The sixth (and final) step for making a perfect breakfast like Ayaka's is the preparation of fresh strawberries with honey.
Ingredients you'll need for fresh strawberries with honey
6 fresh strawberries
1 tbsp. honey
Instructions
Take 6 fresh strawberries out of your refrigerator and wash them.
Put them in a bowl and serve with honey.
Follow these recipes to make the perfect traditional Japanese breakfast suited to your taste.

[TL] At your service, Master!
Tumblr media
Character(s): Chiaki, Tori
Summary: With Yuzuru away with work, Tori is struggling to look after himself. Luckily, Chiaki is eager to offer his services.
Season: Summer
Location: Studio
Tumblr media
Chiaki: (Hm~. It’s time for work, but Himemiya hasn’t shown up yet. Has something troubling happened?)
(...This reminds me of how I used to wait around when I was a part of Rain-bows.)
(But that was because of a lack of communication… Maybe I should double check with the staff just to make sure.)
Tori: Excuse me~! Sorry for being late!
Chiaki: Oh, you’re finally here? I’ve been waiting for you! Himemiya is usually on time, I was worried something had come up.
Tori: Nn~... Something did. In the present tense, I mean.
To be honest, Yuzuru has been away working for a while. Until he comes home, I have to take care of everything myself.
I’ve only just moved into the dorms, and Yuzuru does basically everything for me so I don't know how to do it myself.
If I go home, the servants will take care of it. If everytime Yuzuru is gone I go home, I won’t grow at all.
I don’t know what to do! When I try to iron out the wrinkles in my clothes, the opposite happens and they get creased instead! Why is that?
Uuugh. There’s still 3 more days left. What now…
Chiaki: Fumu, I understand what you’re going through.
If that’s how it is, I’ll stand in for Fushimi…☆
Tumblr media
Tori: You? Then, do you have any experience as a servant?
Chiaki: Fuhaha! I have none, of course!
But as a defender of justice, I can’t ignore a person in trouble!
Tori: Huh? Hnn, you said that with confidence, so I’d have high expectations for you~.
Chiaki: No need to worry! Don’t hold back, and leave it to me ☆
Tori: Where is this confidence coming from… Hnng, what should I dooo? I don’t know if I can depend on you, but I can’t do this all alone…
...Fine then. You start tomorrow, ‘kay?
Time: The next morning
Location: Tori and Yuzuru's room
Tumblr media
Chiaki: Are you awake, Himemiya? I’m coming in ☆
What a refreshing morning! It’s gonna be a good day!
Tori: Snnrk, snnrk…
Mimimi, mimimi… I can’t eat another bite, Eichi-sama~...♪
Chiaki: Oh. Despite what time he promised he’d be up, he’s still sleeping.
This might be a little painful, but what else can I do… Taaakeee this—!
Tumblr media
GooOOOD MORNINNNGGGG ☆
Tori: Hyaaaaah!?
Chiaki: Umu, that worked well! Morning Himemiya ☆
Tori: Uu, I was having a good dream. Lemme sleep some more~...
Chiaki: Don’t hide under the covers. Come out, Himemiya. Getting your body moving will help you wake up!
It’s “Unrivaled ☆ Meteorangers” time[1]! Keep up with me!
Time: 4 minutes and 30 seconds later
Tumblr media
Chiaki: …~ ♪
You were able to keep up by copying me! As expected of Himemiya!
Tori: Haa, haa…You made me do the dance for the entire song…
Chiaki: But you’re wide awake now, right? I’m feeling great too ☆
Tori: How are you so lively so early in the morning?
Yeah, I don’t feel like going back to sleep now.
I guess I’ll be grateful. Thank you for waking me up, Morisawa-senpai.
Um, could you leave so I can get changed and wash my face? It’s hard to do that with you watching.
Chiaki: Sure thing! Then, I’ll get started on breakfast!
Location: Kitchen
Tumblr media
Chiaki: (White rice, miso soup, some grilled fish…♪)
(Alrightie, this is going good so far! It’s because I happened to find some super-quick recipes for beginners ☆)
(Final part is the tamagoyaki[2]. Now I gotta pour the whisked eggs into the pan…[3])
Tumblr media
(Once it’s solidified, I have to roll it up… I have to be careful so I don’t mess up the shape.)
(I think the trick is to not fry it for very long. I’ve got to be quick.)
Tori: …Oh, you’re making Japanese food. Is this the kind of food you like, Morisawa-senpai?
Chiaki: Hello, Himemiya. It’s not about what I like, it’s about what you like.
I’m sure Fushimi makes balanced meals for you, right?
Tori: Uu, yeah that’s true. I want to eat normal food when Yuzuru’s not around.
Chiaki: Fuffuffu. This isn’t all you’ve got, y’know? Open the microwave.
Tori: Microwave?
…Oh, fried potato ♪
Chiaki: It’s hard to say what group potatoes belong to, but these fine vegetables are from the Takamine grocery store.
So these vegetables are super good for you! Make sure you eat them!
Tumblr media
Tori: Uwaa ♪. If Yuzuru could see this he’d be frowning, but it doesn’t bother me~.
Chiaki: I’m glad you’re happy. It was worth all this preparation…♪
Speaking of preparation, are you ready to go to school?
Tori: Yup. Because you woke me up, I wasn’t in a hurry.
Chiaki: I see, I see! Don’t forget this as well.
Tori: Nn, you made me a bento? But I was planning on eating in the cafeteria.
I wonder what other things you’ve put in here… Waah.
I know what this is. You’ve made them into cute shapes, right?[4]
Chiaki: Ah. When I was deciding on what sort of bento to make, an old memory came back to me.
When I was a kid, my parents would make this kind of bento for me. It made me really happy, so I thought I’d try to do the same for you.
I haven’t the same skill, and the kinshitamago[5] is burnt, but the fact that it’s misshapen gives it more charm ☆
Tori: ...
…I’m not a kid anymore.
But thank you for doing this for me, Morisawa-senpai.
Chiaki: Fuhaha! Don’t mention it! Eat lots and you’ll get big and strong.
Then, dig in. Since every good day starts with breakfast…☆
like, as in the ryuuseitai song...
japanese rolled omelettes
he’s using a tamagoyakinabi, which is a square pan used specifically to make these egg rolls
he says kyaraben, which is a bento with food decorated to look like cute characters
thin omelette sliced into thin strips

Thought this one would be a breeze, but it was a bit annoying. Took longer than expected for a raw veggie platter with dip.
Tumblr media
Heating heavy cream with garlic, and anchovies in oil and butter seperately. Simply combine them once the anchovies dissolve in the oil and the cream is reduced by half, then blend...
Tumblr media
What. The fuck.
This looks like shit! Right beside the recipe in his book, Tony has this photo.
Tumblr media
This leads me to believe that the dip should be creamy and a little loose. Not seperated, beige and hidden under a ton of oil!! (also, it was so, SO salty)
So I heated up some more cream until steaming, and slowly added it to the gross looking dip while blending.
Tumblr media
Much better! The salt level was perfect and it was no longer seperated, so I was happy. Served it with the veg and baguette slices I prepped. He said to use breakfast radishes, but I haven't seen them in stores in ages.
Tumblr media
Then later in the night, I get curious and google "bàgna cauda"...
Tumblr media
And this is what I fucking see! It was totally supposed to look gross and separated. I realized his photo must have been just the garlic cream spilled on the floor and not the dip in its finished state.
For fucks sake.
After scrolling for a bit on google, I did find a few pictures of bàgna cauda that were creamy, but they were few and far between. So, I still think this still counts, but I definitely took some liberties.
| Bàgna Cauda with Crudités |
Taste is a 3.5 out of 5. Pretty good for a dip.
Difficulty is a 2 out of 5. But I made it a 3 with my confusion, and liberties.
Time was 30-45 minutes. Great for catering parties, like Tony suggests.
I think even if I did it again, I would still add the extra cream. It's more visually appealing, and the salt level is less insane. The oily beige version does intrigue me a bit though...

day started off as horribly as possible and ended pretty well.
i woke up at about 5:30-5:40ish, about an hour before intended. i felt intense cramps "down there." i got up, went to the bathroom, tried getting back into bed, but was in so much pain i had to go back to the bathroom. for context, i sometimes get stressed-induced ibs flare-ups and i'd been having a mild one this week. that coinciding with the first day of my period was a recipe for extreme pain. worst menstrual cramps i'd had in a decade. only things just as bad in recent memory were a terrible sinus infection i had at the end of 2022 and a pinched nerve at the base of my skull in 2018. i had to stay on my hands and knees on the floor because it was the only tolerable position, like some women do instinctually in childbirth. i thankfully didn't puke, though i thought i might. i cried and screamed a little, not loudly because i live in an apartment building, and i laughed at myself for being dramatic, which helped a bit. it all passed in under an hour. then i went back into bed and used a heating pad and got comfortable with a lot of blankets and let myself sleep for about 45 minutes.
i woke up feeling pretty good, took it slow but was able to have breakfast and go to work close to on time. made it through working day, got some things done. didn't have much trouble. taking magnesium seemed to help. i felt like the lord was testing me because i gave up chocolate for lent and i really felt like chocolate would help but i didn't give in. didn't do much at home, just some more work and dinner and a lot of sitting around on tumblr. took a late night walk, my usual route around the neighborhood. thought overall the day hadn't been so bad. came home to find that my cat had regurgitated in two places and started feeling not so great again. so not an amazing day lol. but i got through it. ready to read until i doze off.

[ID: A sandwich on an English muffin with cheese, a sausage patty, bacon, egg, Hollandaise sauce, and chopped chives. End ID]
Vegan 'sausage' and 'egg' breakfast sandwiches
Soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and fresh herbs and spices give savor, depth, and sweetness to these TVP-based sausage patties. A combination of rice flour, all-purpose flour, and coconut milk, inspired by Vietnamese bánh xèo, makes the batter for the egg patties; they are subtly flavored with kala namak, fenugreek, and white pepper to form a perfect complement for the sausage.
A slow cook in an egg ring followed by a quick fry makes the 'eggs' fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside—a superior solution to tofu, which never quite has the right texture.
This is a delicious, filling option for a weekend breakfast or breakfast-for-dinner; or, make the TVP patties and 'egg' batter the night before and fry them in the morning for a quick breakfast option.
Recipe under the cut!

1-2 Tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
1/2 tsp liquid smoke
2 Tbsp ground flaxseed
1/4 cup (30g) chickpea flour (or all-purpose flour)
2 Tbsp potato starch (if needed)
1 Tbsp cooking oil, to fry
You could also make these patties with Impossible or Beyond ground beef. Use 2 cups (350g) ground beef; omit the water and stock concentrate; halve the soy sauce, oyster sauce, burnt sugar, and liquid smoke.
For the egg patties:
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp (60g) white rice flour
3 Tbsp (22.5g) all-purpose flour (substitute more rice flour for a gluten-free version)
1 tsp ground turmeric
About 1 1/4 cup (295mL) coconut milk (canned or boxed; the kind for cooking, not drinking)
1/4 tsp kala namak (black salt), or substitute table salt
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds, toasted and ground (optional)
1/4 tsp white peppercorns, toasted and ground (optional)
Cooking oil, to fry
Instructions:
For the egg patties:
1. Whisk all ingredients except coconut milk together in a medium mixing bowl.
2. Add coconut milk while stirring until a batter forms, about the consistency of pancake batter. It should be thin enough to flow, but thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
3. Cover and allow to rest at room temperature while you prepare the TVP patties.
For the TVP patties:
1. If using whole spices: toast each spice for a few minutes in a dry skillet on medium heat until very fragrant. Remove skillet from heat and toast ground spices, stirring constantly, for 30 seconds. Grind all spices in a mortar and pestle or in a spice mill.
2. Whisk 1 tsp of vegetarian beef stock concentrate with 1 cup of just-boiled water in a large bowl until just combined. Add spices, soy sauce, oyster sauce, maple syrup, burnt sugar, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and TVP and mix well. Allow TVP to rehydrate for about 10 minutes.
3. Stir in herbs, flaxseed, and flour and mix until well-combined. Add breadcrumbs 1/4 cup at a time until patties hold together.
4. Form TVP mixture into patties about 4" in diameter (or as desired) and place on a plate. Refrigerate for about 10 minutes to allow to set.
To cook:
1. Heat a cast-iron or nonstick pan on medium-high with a couple teaspoons of oil. Place egg rings (or mason jar rings) in the pan, and pour enough batter in each one to make a patty about 1/2" (1cm) thick. Allow to brown for a minute or two.
2. Turn the heat down to low and continue cooking until the top of the egg patties have mostly solidified and are a shade darker.
3. Carefully flip each patty and remove the egg ring. Pour another couple teaspoons of oil in the pan and return the heat to medium-high. Fry, flipping if necessary, until each side of the patty is golden-brown and crispy.
4. Meanwhile, heat a Tbsp of oil in another large skillet on medium-low. Place patties in the skillet and flatten gently with the back of a spatula. Allow to cook for about 5 minutes on each side, until browned, crispy, and cooked through.
5. Assemble breakfast sandwiches with TVP patties, egg patties, and vegetables and sauces of your choice. Serve warm.
