Magus in the style of Queen (Deltarune)

Definitely a messier one, and a drop in quality. Really just the result of me wanting to have a fun figure I did on the side for a series I'm obsessed with. Commentary under cut.

For practice figures, literally what I will do is just go through the Games Workshop store, see a figure and then realize "holy crap... I could paint this like [_____] from a series I like!", or in other words, how every Warhammer fan over 40 paints their Tyranids as the xenomorphs. It ends up being the equivalent of a mini-painting "doodle" or "warmup" in between working on the "real" army. I don't really think about or worry over making a larger "thematically connected" army.

What's kinda sad is that, with Queen in particular, I actually did buy another Genestealer Cultist figure with the intent to paint them as a Deltarune character. I have a primed Abominant that I was planning to paint as Lancer and the King.

Even separately from that, I considered having Lancer on his bike as an Atalan Jackal. But you'd have to get a full set of five, and honestly I just want the one popping a wheelie.

Not to mention, goddammit, that now I actually have Green Stuff. I shouldn't have primed them! I could have connected the hammer to his stomach and made the spade... at the very least, I should have given them their coneheads. Damn.

Anyways, Queen. Not a lot to say, you can see paint going over the lines and somehow only the wineglass-turned-staff is the only good looking part. I didn't busy myself too much with details and I think this was unfinished; I don't remember what state I considered this to be in when I last touched it a year ago. I might give some shade to the gown and the head, and boots and cowl deserve an edge highlight or two. Apologies to trypophobes when it comes to whatever the fuck my primer did to the inside of her thigh...

It's also to kinda say fixing her up is not my top priority. I finally have enough figures in my actual army to play the game (this took LITERALLY three years) so that's where my focus is going to be. That's not to say no forever, but it is to say TTFN.

What I was really hyped about was the base. I took a copy of Fairly Oddparents: Breakin' Da Rules for Game Boy Advance, an absolutely awful Megaman clone that will not be missed. and then sanded it down until it was just small enough to be based. I drew with a marker the relative circumference I had to get it to. I suppose I could have freehanded the wires but I'm sick of my bases being dirt and debris, I wanted something nice. Only problem was the glue gun definitely made a big ol' gap between the base and the basing.

I think most of the fun of this one was daydreaming about how this fits in the 40K universe. Her standing on a microchip is probably impossible, that's only a factor of her being the size of one in real life, but who knows. I imagine that she's from a Genestealer Cult that had infected a Forgeworld, specifically. I think there are gameplay mechanics to venerate a bug version of the Omnissiah? Don't know for sure.

It's very humbling; I really don't think these are very good and I think any goodwill is based on who they are rather than any ability/talent rendering those people. The next few posts are going to be my actual army and the lore I wrote up for them, but that doesn't mean that's the end of the "[Warhammer Character] in the style of [Thing From Franchise]" posts. I have three that are started and unfinished, and I might do touchups or even outright re-dos of the previous ones I've posted. Thank you for your support. The door to the basement slammed closed behind him, and Oscar wasn’t expecting a hit to land across his cheek as he stepped out into the hall.

It wasn’t a hard one, nothing compared to the backhands from Snyder or da, but enough to send his head sideways at the unexpected nature of it, enough for it to sting.

Immediately on guard out of the corner of his eye he caught movement again and caught the wrist in a harsh grip before the second hit could land.

When he looked at her, Katherine Pulitzer didn’t look back. Her gaze instead fixed on his bruising red knuckles circling her arm.

“What did you do to him?” She asked and her voice was hard, all sharp edges, and she didn’t seem afraid of Oscar either, not in the way she should be, and the realisation felt like pin pricks in his skin still buzzing from the adrenaline of beating on Kelly. So he tightened his grip, working against the logical part of his brain that told him it wasn’t in his best interests to rough up Joseph Pulitzer’s daughter and jerked her arm to the side forcing her forward.

“Only what your father paid us to.”

“Clearly money matters to you more than your morals.”

“Yeah, I can’t imagine money is anythin’ that you’ve ever had to worry about.”

It was only at the vitriol in his voice that she attempted to pull her arm away from him. Instead he tightened his fingers, his knuckles aching at the movement.

He could feel Morris at his side, feel his stare, something akin to a glare but nothing enough to make him stop yet.

“There are other ways to gain it than being fists for hire, then beating on kids that are only trying’ to make a living-“

“Okay” Oscar relented. “Maybe there is. But maybe breakin’ Kelly’s hand is more satisfying’.”

He enjoyed the way her eyes widened, the way her jaw tensed with worry.

“You’re both bas-“

He cut over the top of her, loud and sharp and blunt. “-being paid by your father. Who told us we can treat him as we see fit.”

She was biting her tongue. He could tell. She tried to pull away again and he had to stop himself from laughing, almost had to admire her confidence.

“And we ain’t nothin’ next to what Snyder’s gonna do to’him. You gonna go start a fight with him too? Think you can win that one?”

“Let go of me.”

“You hit me first.” He turned to Morris, his too casual grip far too strong for the harsh way she tried to yank herself away again and failed. “What d’you think Morris. Brave little girl reporter ain’t so brave no more.”

“I am not, a little girl.”

“Oh. Course’ not.”

The mocking in his tone was enough to make her expression shift again from worried to angry before it stuck something firmly in the middle.

Oscar didn’t really abide by the whole, you can’t hit girls rule, not that it was something that he’d actually done, but he always thought if someone, anyone, swung first he was going to hit back twice as hard. But Katherine was different, laying a hand on Miss Pulitzer in any way that could leave a bruise all but guaranteed their return to the refuge, if not actual jail.

“Thought you was meant to be smart,” he said, and he just sounded tired. “We can stand here arguing and Kelly can hear every word. You wanna make him worried bout you too on top’ve everything else?”

For a second Katherine was quiet, gaze flicking between the two of them and Oscar wondered what she was seeing. The Delancey brothers, made of the same blood and flesh who shared the same crease in their brows they got from their da. Snyder’s mutt’s from the refuge raised to bite and bare teeth. Oscar and Morris, side by side and back to back, putting money in their pockets and restless with the constant casual background hum of anger.

“You both could’ve helped.” She said eventually, and she pulled her arm from Morris, he let her go, shoving his hands back in his pocket before he came up with a cigarette. “You could’ve helped them.”

And the words felt familiar to Oscar, something similar spat at him one morning. He was right then, and he was right now too.

“Yeah? I help the guy who puts money in my pockets.”

He tightened his grip, only for a couple seconds, only until she winced, the expression near imperceptible, and then he let go. Swallowing down the rest of the anger, restless and pulsing through his blood and his limbs. He needed a drink, or a fight, or to turn around and beat on Kelly a little more.

Instead Morris shoved his shoulder toward the hall door.

He paused before he started walking though, sending once last look at Katherine as she held her arm to her chest and stared after them, frustration and something almost like fear written across her face, but not of them, not for herself.

“When Kelly fucks up his choices you ain’t gonna want to be at the rally Pulitzer,” He said, “Snyder’s men ain’t gonna be as nice as we are, not gonna have no qualms about hittin’ a girl.”

(well i mean nu probably does but what about the fop games?) do they do crimes or are they just silly goobers? if timothy meets jimbo nutronio again would he like him or not interestted? (follow up to the cindy thing) idk if ive asked this before but does timmy like trixie after the memory wipe? would crocker remember timmy with fairies? what does timbo think of thy gurl tootie? would he remember THE SONGS!? (like icky vicky, my shiny teeth and me, etc.) how much coffee does each member take? was the last question unexpected? sorry theres way more asks than what i entended to ask about. i got carried away 🥲

Memory backup? They already tried doing that, but an error message would always show up during the process. Timmy theorizes that fairy magic is interfering, but Jimmy's having none of that, insisted there's another way around, and proceeded to wrack his brain for more possible solutions. Timmy, already resolved to follow through to his fate anyway, had to force Jimmy to stop who was spiralling down to madness for every second that passes as he repeat his fruitless attempts.

Did the FOP Games happen before memory wipe? I'm gonna confess: idk jackshit about them. 😅 But do they actually determine Timmy's future though? Let's assume for now that any games released before Poof's era (when the series's quality declined) happend. 👌

Are the blorbos criminals or goobers? They do crimes in the eyes of the Syndicate, but otherwise they're just silly goobers. :)

Will Timmy like Jimmy again? Honey I'm a sucker for characters who lost memory of one another yet learned to love each other again the same way they used to, of course JimmyTimmy's real 😤

Does Timmy still like Trixie? I'm pretty sure he would still admire her whether CosWan's around or not, so yeah he does :,D

Does Crocker remember Timmy's fairies? GOOD QUESTION!! Crocker would still theorize that Timmy had Fairy Godparents, but he isn't as passionate about it as he used to since his memories of the fairies in particular had gotten fuzzier after the memory wipe. Though he still hates him for it 😅

What does Timmy think of Tootie? Let's assume Tootie matured by then and doesn't chase Timmy as much as she used to, giving him more space to see her in a new light, that she's more than just "a girl with cooties" and an actual person who has other interests, hobbies, and friends. Despite this, he still can't help but feel iffy around her and try to avoid any interaction as much as he can.

Does Timmy remember the songs? HMMMM let's say he remembers singing them, but he doesn't remember the lines that CosWan would sing their hearts out. Hence he doesn't memorize the whole music. 🥲

How much coffee do the blorbos take? Do not get me started on Danny. Jimmy's main caffeine intake is Purple Flurp, but would ocassionally drink coffee if he needed less of a boost. Timmy refuses to drink coffee with no sweetness in it, it always has to be latte or he'll spit his drink out. If you don't want him to set something on fire, do not let SpongeBob go near the coffee machine.
