Nice little trip to Natural Bridges this morning. Lots of little kelp and shore crabs running around. Holding out for that dude with the one claw, though, and hoping he stays safe. The birds were definitely flying around the area. Also, some college students were kind enough to let me check out the amazing Opalescent nudibranchs they had found. Got one to pose on a piece of kelp for a better look.

Rode approximately 200km today. Weather was wonderful for a blat in the countryside so i took the scenic route to Rakaia via Leeston (had meant to go to Southbridge but *shrugs*). Then took the other scenic route via Hororata and Darfield back to Chch. Ended up missing a turn and had to do a chunk of the ride on gravel roads (slowly because gravel under road tyre scares me). Bugs seemed to be very attacted to my visor.

Have determined Darfield Bakery has a better tasting pie than the Sheffield Pie Shop. Also picked up a massive lemon and berry tart to spend the weekend snacking on.

I suppose the next goal is to reach the Fairlie Bakehouse (approx 380km round trip).

In the meantime, feeling pretty dead. Today was my longest ever trip and I did have to contend with a bit of crosswind on the return leg so most of my limbs are wobbly.

If you're twisting my arm.......... I'd say American Trilogy. The last minute of his 'Aloha' rendition of it never fails to give me chills. There really is no word to describe it other than EPIC.
