any au with diomedes hanging out on ithaca during the events of the odyssey is already perfect but it becomes even better when you remember theoclymenus (that guy telemachus offers a ride to in book 15). does telemachus give him a tour like “alright theoclymenus, welcome to ithaca. heres my house, its currently being squatted in by 108 guys that wanna fuck my mom. also this is diomedes, your former king, legendary member of the epigoni, sacker of thebes and troy, he lives here now. hes not here to challenge my dads throne or anything though just to farm.” do they make awkward small talk. do they talk about theoclymenus’ two cousins that diomedes sacked thebes with. are they just the passing cars meme. the comedic potential here is endless

i've realised my approach to writing or thinking about most IDW cybertronians can be best described as 'schrodinger's aromantic': that is, i do not know if i am considering them as aromantic or not until i reach a point of disambiguation in my current train of thought as to whether i'm including any ships for them etc. (this obviously excludes the characters explicitly shown as being in romantic relationships.) reason being, on the one hand i ship a lot of ships and enjoy that stuff immensely, but on the other hand IDW canonically states that romance is normal-but-rare and i have always taken this to mean a significant proportion of the population is aromantic. this has proven to be the easiest way for me to have my cake and eat it. but it also means that i very rarely talk about characters as aromantic because the negative tends to crop up less often, if you see what i mean. anyway, all this is to say that OTPs aside i still think aromantic roddy is my favourite reading in the comic itself, partly because it's very very funny to imagine him watching his quest devolve into a statistical anomaly of more romantic drama than the entire species has seen in like a century like 'what the fuck'

Day #4 of my valentines art challenge!
Ohhhh goodness, unpopular opinion time, I unashamedly like Brookji/Kenlynn. I could write an essay on why, but no one cares so I won’t :)))) I’ll just sit over here alone and cry that content is mostly nonexistent and make my own ;0;
But let's focus on the important things here: 1) I can’t draw backgrounds to save my life and (2) I feel robbed that we only got to know Kenji’s pink shirt for half an episode…….

You said something about Hades AU and all I can think about of emotionally constipated Hades!Caleb and full of life and joy Persephone!Molly kahxbagd
!! Oh this is so sweet ; ; The image of Tealeaf as both a denizen of the underworld and god of spring after being resurrected amidst all the Wildmother’s flowers and greenery—spring as rebirth, life after death. The way Yasha described Molly as color and life in the midst of a barren wasteland where nothing grew—oh I love this for him, it warms my whole heart.
And Caleb who’s always had a longing to reach out to those he lost, always tried to turn back time and bring his loved ones back—always being kind to the dead. Caleb listening attentively to every shade he meets, trying to make them comfortable and give them peace. A safe place to rest. Caleb knowing better than anyone that the dead can never truly escape the Underworld, but…a part of him is still young and foolish, still hopes—
And the reason Persephone leaves home in the first game still breaks my whole heart. And as for what would drive Molly to leave—I don’t know that he’d intend to stay away forever, but. If Molly/King started to recover fleeting memories of his last life, I think at a certain point he’d try to make it to the world above.
Like how Kingsley needed a bit of distance at first, needed to rediscover himself before he was truly ready to let himself be vulnerable and open with his family. King finally working up the courage to face his past, “Finally reads that book, and goes to visit. And learn.”
Tealeaf starting to wake from too many nightmares and familiar dreams. Stumbling across Beau’s journal and can’t help being curious, needing to know more. Realizing he wants to reconcile with the past. Tealeaf trying to run away and steal a ship upriver to the surface, telling himself it’s not forever. Caleb never once trying to stop him, ready to let go if that’s what his Circus Man needs—but also knowing that death has claimed him too many times already, that the Matron’s threads can’t be undone.
Caleb still writing Molly letters for when he finally comes home. Holding onto his old coat. Keeping a spare room in the Tower always ready for him. Waiting for reunion—

Post 1:
I am super into Napoleon. *SHRUG* He was kinda weird-looking and charismatic and running at about 200% drama all the time, exactly my type. (Also, his relationships with some of his marshals and generals, unf. Napoleon/Ney in 1814 is a slap-slap-kiss obsessive romance and you can't tell me otherwise.)
Post 2:
Bourbon Restoration: Ney, we know you were Napoleon's main guy and we're not really sure that's over. Are you still into him?
Ney: No way! I broke up with Napoleon. We're through. I definitely do not want to go back to Napoleon, no sir. I will never let Napoleon seduce me again! We are so done—
Napoleon, seductively escaping from exile: Hey there, Michel~
Ney: FUCK.

Watching the music video for Everest and it really reminds me of the music videos for Frontiers (I think it's the warehouse setting, mostly, but also the sharpness and, like, seriousness. Lack of smiling) and 100degrees (similarly black and white, similarly sharp and serious, no smiling, etc).
It really does feel like a revisiting who they were at the start, the vibes and essence of the Rampage originally, but bringing it forward and matching it to the more experienced, more sure of themselves as individuals and as a group Rampage now.
