man while i'm on my felix kick it fucking sucks that they keep not knowing what the FUCK to do with this character when he's actually very strongly characterized. i went off about this last night but like, underutilized aspect of felix: he's like, a really good leader?? and i'm not talking an uber-inspiring protagonist-type leader like the PC; i'm talking an extremely functional organizer of people that you especially need in a military context. it's kind of hard to clock at first if you're not paying attention, especially because you're introduced to him while he's desperately trying to stave off a mutiny; but considering he's on a shithole iceball with a group of restless 18-to-25-year-old recruits who, as far as they're concerned, are trying to kill an immortal enemy, the fact that only one of them winds up ultimately raising a hand against him is impressive. he boosts morale, he makes good tactical calls on his own while not being too proud to take assistance, he metes out swift discipline without being needlessly punitive. and when the squad splits up, people keep in touch with him!!!

like, felix is extremely good at his job, and that aspect of him kind of deepens the tragedy of his permanent stagnation in rank when you compare him to other soldier comps like Rusk or even early-game Jorgan. i'm not a fan of fictional or real militaries but this character's skillset as an officer has been a repeatedly underutilized resource narratively & it makes me want to eat glass

Since we’re confirmed for season two, and it’s therefore likely already being recorded, I’m not too scared of the monkey’s paw being brought into this:

Who do y’all think will end up voicing Lilith?

Like, there’s built in expectations there — this is Charlie’s mom, Lucifer’s wife, and a woman whose singing was so powerful and moving that the legions of sinners in Hell flocked to her and rapidly increased her power base. Music was the basis of all power Lilith gained in Hell, aside from the simple fact she was the first sinner and therefore had seniority.

Plus, with what little we know of her character, I’d expect range. Presumably we’ll get at least one flashback to her and Lucifer first meeting and getting together/when they fell to Hell, which would be a younger, more optimistic and hopeful tone. Even if that post-credits was a mislead, they’ll drag it out long enough for the Queen of Hell to get at least one villain song. Presumably we’d get a more maternal role with her singing with Charlie at some point — maybe another reprise of More Than Anything? No matter how that goes, I expect it’d be a gut-wrencher.

Point being, Lilith’s gonna be a big, demanding, and versatile role song-wise, and the actress playing her would have to rise to that challenge. And with Christian Borle and Jeremy Jordan and all the other veritable Broadway royalty already on cast…whether or not it comes true, I feel comfortable dreaming big. I think Sutton Foster or Bonnie Milligan would be my ideal picks, but it’s not like this is a fantasy football draft.

So with the reveal in the short that Millie also doesn't like the musicals, I now want Stolas and Moxxie to become friends. Stolas really gives me the vibe that he'd enjoy musicals, because he's like a Disney princess and because we've seen Stolas multiple times now sing his heart out so beautifully.

Plus Bryce Pinkham (Stolas' VA) is a Broadway star, and said this once "I did musicals growing up as a kid, and it was always a dream to be in a Broadway musical, to play the lead in a Tony-winning musical.", so it'd make perfect sense that the character he voices would love musicals. It just strikes me as a common activity they both probably would enjoy, and with Stolas both of them would most likely actually enjoy the musicals, instead of Blitz or Millie pretending that they actually enjoy the musicals.

Besides wanting to show off, Vivziepop hired many Broadway actors to voice her characters in Hazbin Hotel because she's obsessed with them and desperately wants to be part of their world.

Hazbin Hotel is a musical because she wants to have her own Broadway show and have actors perform in it. Vivziepop had always planned to abandon the pilot VAs and replace them with Broadway actors to fulfill this dream in a way.

She's kissing Broadway actors' asses because she believes she can use them as she has with previous people. After all, when Vivziepop wants something from you, she'll do anything to get on your good side and keep you around.
