I honestly expected We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal to be the final blow, but instead our queen anthem and the song Yoongi has now deemed a 'zombie that will never die' did that! I've heard Spring Day more times than I can count and I've never cried harder at the boys singing "보고 싶다" to ARMY more than in this moment.
This entire concert was amazing! Not only did we get beautiful (and comedic gold *cough cough* NamGi) performances of the three legendary subunit songs "Jamais Vu", "Respect", and "Friends", but we also got a sneak peek into the set list for the actual MoTS: Tour with 2 of the best songs from MoTS: 7, "UGH!" and "00:00"! Plus the fact that everyone looked so happy and excited to be performing again made my heart feel the exact same!
Thank you BTS for this enormous outpouring of love, laughter, and, of course, if you're like me, some inevitable tears. You guys didn't have to go through all of this time, work, and effort to put on a concert like this, but you knew how much ARMY and BTS missed each other and how much we all needed this right now 😭😭😭
I 💜 you all!
보라해!
And now for a few of my favorite moments:
▪Throwback songs! "Dope", "Boyz With Fun", "Like", etc.
This opening was 💯!!!
▪Hobi's bracelets, you know the ones he hand-made on VLive and expressed doubts about his boys wearing them, and then cut to this absolutely precious moment of their loving reactions and huge smiles receiving them!
Tumblr media
Also this adorable tidbit 😭😵
Tumblr media Tumblr media
▪Joon's "Happy Birthday BTS" lyric change in Just One Day broke me.
▪Every. Single. Sub. Unit. Song.
Jamais Vu:
The VOCALS + set and those fits. JanJanKook, the perfect trio we all needed!
Tumblr media
Respect:
The fits, the choreo, the 80's club theme, Joon's laugh and Yoong's gummy smile. This was so freaking adorable! NamGi superior!
Tumblr media
Also, the LGBTQ+ color rep here (intentionally or not 🤷‍♂️) was perfect for Pride month 😭😭😭💜🏳️‍🌈
Friends:
They wore their actual school uniforms, the pinky fingers, the Dumpling skit, and they held hands and wouldn't let go.
"You are my Soulmate"
VMin really said all other friendships are invalid.
Tumblr media
▪The Umbrella Remix of BWL feat. ARMY BOMBS!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
▪Anpanman + the giant ARMY BOMB hero hanging above the boys
And finally...
▪SPRING DAY ENCORE
This is a song that is all about missing someone so bad that your heart can't help but to hurt, yet despite that pain, you still find yourself holding out hope regardless knowing that a better day will eventually come and the time you get to see that special person again will be just around the corner.
This is BTS's ending promise to ARMY, that no matter the circumstances or whatever obstacles this world tries to throw in our path, there will always be 7 angels waiting for us on the other side.
We are family and that will never change.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🐳
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In case any of the moments listed above didn't make you emotional enough, I'll leave you with possibly the most precious, heartwarming moment I've ever seen from our boys. Watch and cry with me, they love us so much!
THANK YOU
KIM NAMJOON
MIN YOONGI
KIM SEOKJIN
JUNG HOSEOK
PARK JIMIN
KIM TAEHYUNG
JEON JUNGKOOK
BTS
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

You know what I'd love, though it'll never happen, is if BTS performed an online concert of just their older songs. The songs could be the original version or remixed, like with a live band or acappella. I would love to hear the songs now that the boys are older & their voices have strengthened. (Side note: what are some older songs you'd want to see them perform again?)
Oh my god, anon, saaaaaame 😭 That’s the problem when the group you stan just has so many bops, like none of the songs from their old albums is weird to listen to. If anything, 2 Cool 4 Skool still gets me going like no other.
They honestly do a pretty good job already of giving us some throwback songs during their concert medleys but damn, I’d kill to get some Dark&Wild songs performed live.
Can you imagine? Danger? Let me know?? War of Hormone (we all simp for this song, don’t even lie)??? Also, let’s all take a moment to imagine rap line performing the Cyphers again... the power that mental image holds...
Also, it hasn’t been that long but it feels like we haven’t seen I Need U performed in recent years? I’d also lowkey kill to have a proper live performance of House of Cards...

BTS Love Yourself In Seoul Film Review
(Hello fellow ARMYs! I wrote a review for the Love Yourself In Seoul film in my blog originally, but thought I’d also share it here! After listening to V’s song, Scenery, I was inspired to express myself more in the way I know how, which is in writing. So thank you, 감사합니다, Taehyung! for sharing your gorgeous song with us.)
So show me, I'll show you...
Last Saturday on January 26, 2019, movie theaters across the globe created a one-day movie event for International K-Pop group, BTS' World Tour: Love Yourself In Seoul as a concert movie. Many, many fans, including myself, all came together to watch a group, who one day we all hope to see live in person. From what I've read, concert tickets were high up there, so seeing this concert movie felt like the closest thing to going to an actual concert. Little did I know that the film would actually feel exactly just that.
If you were to see BTS in concert, it would be an experience to remember. Besides countless views of watching my favorite bands/groups from their tour DVDs (British Pop-Rock band, McFLY, for example puts on a fantastic show), I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like BTS'. The fact that they kept the microphone echoing effect in the film (rather than it sounding like just a recording event), made it felt as though we, the audience full of ARMY (Adorable Representative MC for Youth), were actually there at the venue with them. The feel of the concert was definitely there, though to the extent that since it was a movie, excessive screaming and disruptive behavior would ruin the enjoyment of the film (That is not to say there was no screaming allowed during the showing; with squeals whenever the next song plays, or anything cute and exciting things that happened, it didn't bother me at all. It just made the experience much more entertaining).
To add to the experience, the seven-piece K-Pop group (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) were so born to perform. It was evident to see how much they each pour their hearts out with such effort, passion, and energy in each of their performances through their raw voices and intense dance routines. The concert consisted of a mix of group and solo performances, one with the vocal line (members who mostly sing; Jungkook, Jin, Jimin, and V), and the rap line (one with the members who mostly rap; RM, Suga, and J-Hope); almost all of the songs they performed were from their Love Yourself albums. Throughout the movie there have been many instances where I couldn't stop dancing. Remembering that it was a movie, you'd expect people would be bothered by singing along or dancing, but in this case, it wasn't; almost everyone at my showing were doing everything I was doing. As previously mentioned, since it was a concert movie, there was bound to be some lively interactions.
It was a very pleasant surprise to see that they performed an eclectic song selection for their concert. While most of the songs performed throughout the concert were from their latest release, Love Yourself: Answer, one of my favorite performances I enjoyed was the throwback medley, which were songs that were from their earlier albums (Boyz with Fun, Attack on Bangtan, Fire, Bapsae/Silver Spoon, and Dope), which as a fan of three months, I have to admit, the two songs I am most familiar with was Fire and Dope. If I am honest, though, I haven't listened much to their earlier albums as much as I have with their recent ones. But upon seeing them perform these songs live made me want to re-listen to their entire discography again (future post, perhaps?). The medley as a whole was entertaining to watch, most especially with the audience's excitement to Bapsae.
Here are a few more highlights from the show:
It was also a real treat to have solo performances from each of the members during the concert. Each one stood out on their own, but one of the solos I enjoyed that I must mention was Jimin's solo performance for Serendipity. I was enthralled by his sweet voice, his flowy choreography, and at some point during the performance, I shrank into my seat to cover the burning sensation from my cheeks (and it also caused a spread of giggles among the audience). It was surprisingly something I was not expecting to see from him, but the important thing is_ I couldn't look away_.
(On that note, you'd expect at this point that Jimin is my bias--in K-Pop terms it means whoever is your favorite, even though that word means something entirely different), but in case you were wondering, it is actually RM.)
The Truth Untold, which is performed by the vocal line (and features Steve Aoki, though he makes no appearance), was a song I was anticipating to see performed live. It was one of the songs I listen to frequently. The four members, Jin, Jungkook, Jimin, and V all sung beautifully while in their fairy-like flowery outfits (which I actually loved). I wasn't expecting it, but because of the way they sang, the flowery attire, and remembering the lyrics behind the song, it left me in tears. They sung it even better live.
Lastly, seeing all the members sing Magic Shop towards the crowd was very touching and heartfelt. It was a song written for the fans for whenever there are days that are challenging and are in need of comfort. (It is also influenced by Into The Magic Shop by James R. Doty) This performance showed that special connection BTS have with ARMY and how much they want to give back to them with their music. Since learning the meaning behind this song, it has also become one of my favorite songs to listen to.
Despite the concert film running for about two hours, it still wasn't long enough. Just like any ARMY in the theater and everyone else who had seen it, I wish there was more. Collectively, the entire theater felt the same. After the credits rolled with the end note from BTS on the screen, "SPECIAL THANKS TO THE BIGGEST LOVE, ARMY", the sea of ARMY began to pour out in the theater, either crying and giggling with their friends, yearning for more from the group, or even stuck around hoping for another replay from whoever was in charge of the projector.
But for me, I was left with a giant smile on my face. With BTS--Bangtan Sonyeondan, Beyond The Scene...or just Bangtan to me--anything can happen with them; they are a type of K-Pop group who would never disappoint, and somehow take their music and  performances a level higher than before. They aren't doing any of this for the fame or for money; they do it all for their fans.
And speaking of fans, while they started piling into the theater and getting settled into their seats, one kind ARMY in particular, went through each aisle and handed each person random photo cards of BTS members. It was such a sweet gesture of her to even do such a thing. It goes to show that Bangtan are good influences for ARMY by their own kindness and mannerisms!
That seems to be the case of why they brought this concert to theaters: to give their fans who have never seen them live just about the same concert experience. Needless to say, the movie gave that experience for me, and I'm sure that if I ever manage to go to one of their concerts in the future, it's going to be something I won't ever forget.

BTS World Tour: Love Yourself - fan account
I saw BTS perform at the O2 arena in London on Tuesday 9th October 2018, and it was simply amazing. I’ll do my best to tell you all about it.
Before the show (the boring bit in which I try not to misrepresent the realities of the standing experience - potentially useful if you’ll be attending a show with standing tickets)
The truth is that the day of the show… had its challenges. My group of friends and I had standing tickets and we chose to commit ourselves to getting to the O2 by 5 am (which involved waking up at 2.30 am lol - it was like getting up to go to the airport) to be in with a chance of being somewhere near the front of the pit. Queuing had its ups and downs (trying to avoid giving too much detail on this as I don’t want to give room for negativity), but ultimately, for me, a lot of excitement built up and it was an opportunity to practise our fan chants, even if it was a pretty tiring experience.
Once the doors opened at 5 pm and we were admitted into the arena, we were over the moon at managing to get a spot in the fourth row from the front, right near the middle stage (diamond-shaped), which is pretty much exactly where we’d hoped to end up. Unfortunately, although perhaps inevitably, it did later become clear that there was going to be a lot of pushing from the back of the pit. One of my friends sadly got completely separated from the rest of us for the duration of the concert, ending up in about the tenth row back. The rest of us got separated from one another too, though we were lucky enough to be able to somewhat maintain our position nearer the front.
I’ve got to admit that in spite of the level of pushing (and, at times, elbowing) that occurred, there maybe actually was something to be gained from the intensity and vigour of the crowd. It was at least made clear that Bangtan are incredibly loved, that all of UK ARMY want to be close with them, and there was something unifying in that.
Showtime
I’ve wasted time making excuses when all I really want to say is that I had the best time of my life and loved every second of the concert from the moment it started to the moment BTS left the stage.
I’d seen Bangtan before (at KCON Paris in 2016), but had kinda forgotten what it’s like to be there in the same room with them, to look at them and see them with your own two eyes, no cameras or computer screens intervening. As one of my friends said to me on the tube home, they look exactly as they do in their pictures and videos, completely beautiful, but the difference is that they became real. All of that masculinity, attitude and (forgive me) sex appeal that gets dampened by the process of recording and broadcasting became tangible, and it was kinda electrifying.
Songs (with commentary)
The setlist for the night was setlist B, so the songs were:
Idol (The first song!!!! They launched straight into it and did their introductions afterwards.)
Save Me (It became apparent that people really know the words of their songs, and there was even fan chanting going on, not even just singing along. It was so fun to be part of the ARMY ocean with everybody. Namjoon’s part was super popular.)
I’m Fine (I was NOT fine.)
Magic Shop (JK introduced his song for ARMY, giving me the chance to tell BTS that I promise to give me the best of me. Thank you BTS. Such a beautiful moment of my life.)
Trivia: Just Dance (Solo stages!!!! And Hobi, you sexy. How can you go from ‘I’m your hope, you’re my hope’ to this??? That elevated stage dance though - you must’ve been scared… and you didn’t lose your footing or get out of breathe? Wizard)
Euphoria (JK sang from his chair, which probably killed him inside but it was just very moving and somehow didn’t detract from the performance at all, such is the level of his vocals. Being with JK together in that song, well, for me, it was utopia.)
I Need U (I think this is when I almost fainted lol)
Run (Yeah still fainting - oh dear)
Serendipity (‘GEUNYANG GEUNYANG!!!!!’ HOLY SHIT JIMINNNNNNNNN. He freakin played us ALL. Like I was never a fan of excessive floor humping dance moves until this day. Now I am, like 3000% a fan.)
Trivia: Love (So this is one of my favourite of their new songs and I’d heard it wasn’t that popular in concert but our crowd went wild for it. We were all right there with the PQRST, it was mad. I hope Namjoon felt our love.)
DNA (Yoongi’s part and then V’s made us lose our shit.)
Boyz with Fun (Medley time! And I mean, who can resist a bit of ‘heungtan sonyeondan’? Such a lovely throwback to Paris, I was filled with memories of me and my bestie. Love this song so much because of that.)
Attack on Bangtan (A lot of water was being handed out at this point to keep us hydrated. My memories are blurry.)
Fire (They didn’t do the choreo until 3.33, then they hella did the choreo.)
Silver Spoon (THEY DID BAEPSAE!!! Weren’t we lucky?! Namjoon came right up to the edge of the stage and attacked with some… select parts of the choreo 😂 - I was LIVING.)
Dope (This was so clearly an audience favourite. I think maybe because a lot of people got into Bangtan for the first time because of this song? At least that was the case for me. ‘Eoseo wa bangtaneun cheoeumiji?’ NEEEEEEE)
Airplane Pt. 2 (Finally, BTS can say ‘London to Paris’ and really mean it. JK sitting in his chair actually worked well for this one, he did a lot of upper body wiggling and it was great.)
Singularity (V was a solo artist with this - unreal levels of artistry, individuality and professionalism.)
Fake Love (I had the realisation that this is like my favourite BTS stage ever. The choreo in real life was just mind-blowing, the movements were so unbelievable and fluid. It was only just really sad that Jungkookie couldn’t be a part of it, I’m sure he wanted to. The fan chants were mad with this one btw - I think there are ‘FAKE LOVE’-shaped holes in my eardrums.)
Trivia: Seesaw (Aren’t we all Yoongi stans when this song plays? That voice was pure velvet. Yoongi, we all know it now - you can really sing.)
Epiphany (Okay, I’ll admit something I’m slightly ashamed of, which is that i didn’t known Jin could be this good. And I feel bad for not expecting it to the extent I did, but he ruled the stage so hard, it was beyond expectation, definitely one of the best stages of the night. Madhyung’s voice was so strong and beautiful. What a singer.)
The Truth Untold (There was a moment of such utterly perfect harmony between JiKook, the crowd loved it.)
Outro: Tear (Yoongi loves his job, he was just so very clearly so happy to be there and was loving every second of it. The amount of stage presence and… sheer happiness that radiated rom him, it was so so lovely to see.)
Mic Drop (This was mad, we were singing along like it was the last thing we’d do, even the raps, even though it was the Korean version. And freakin ‘mic mic bungee’ was everything.)
Part of me had hoped for setlist C as Boy in Luv is one of my favourites, and there was a moment when Jimin (or was it V?) said ‘make some noise’ in the exact same way that I’ve seen them sometimes doing right before launching into ‘doegopa / neoui oppa,’ and so my heart completely leapt out of my chest. But honestly, no regrets. All the setlists are amazing and I feel SO lucky to have seen Baepsae!!
For the encore, we had the standard:
So What (‘I don’t wanna die right now, I don’t wanna fight right now, I don’t like worries, Life is long… I wanna live right now’ - thank you Namjoon 💖.)
Anpanman (Of course the crowd loved it, though I found out after the show that Jungkook apparently broke down in tears at this point. He must have been so frustrated not to be able to give it his all. ☹️)
Answer: Love Myself (‘You’ve shown me, I have reasons, I should love myself’ - the perfect ending, resolution.)
Jimin
Jimin, my bias. Thank you, Jimin. He spent so much time on our part of the stage, I was immensely grateful, especially as I’d been sad that he hadn’t seemed to come over to our part of the stage so much in Paris. Beautiful, blonde, with a such a pretty tummy (we saw flashes during Baepsae). Charismatic but rude, he was giving all kinds of eye contact to the crowd, so much fan service, in fact they all made a point of doing this and it was so kind, the way they made sure to make us feel seen and heard. Though their gazes (mostly) weren’t soft at all, so hard and piercing. I feel blessed but also somehow humiliated by having been present in their line of sight.
Jimin maintained a cool facade for much of the concert (I mean, he is the coolest after all), but occasionally that true, sweet smile would break through (like at the end of Serendipity, probs cause he knew we needed something to recover) or when speaking to the members (playing with / comforting Jungkook, bothering Namjoon).
Not meaning to be rude or anything, because it’s something I totally love about him, but Jimin is massively attention hogging on stage and you can totally see why the other members like to (semi-pretend) complain about him, yet admire him so much for his stage presence and performance ability. He was always present just seemingly everywhere on stage, and so commanding. Born to perform, I swear. And stealing everyone else’s moments too, especially Namjoon, whose choreographed high kicks he matched at one point, before adding one extra (extra high) kick of his own, then going on to pinch Namjoon’s cheeks and poke his dimples during Namjoon’s ment. At one point, he came up behind Namjoon so suddenly that Namjoon didn’t know he was there and accidentally hit him in the face. Jimin pretended to be stunned and touched his face as if to confirm it had happened before moving on - it was just so cuteee.
Ending ments
BTS closed the show with their ending ments. The members taking the time to speak to us as individuals and at length was so special, it was maybe even my favourite part of the whole entire thing. To be able to experience Bangtan live, member by member, just as we know them to be, just as they are… it was just so special.
Something I haven’t mentioned yet (although I’m sure anybody reading this who cares to know will already know) is that Jungkook was injured. We got an announcement at about ten minutes before the concert was due to start explaining that Jungkook had collided with furniture while doing some light stretches not two hours before the show started, and so although it wasn’t a serious injury, he had been told that it would be against medical advice to perform choreography that night. Throughout the concert, he was therefore sat in a chair and not able to participate in the dances or come to the front of the stage. During his ending ment, Jungkookie explained (through the translator) that he had originally prepared something to say in English but chose to speak in Korean so that he could speak to us sincerely from his heart. He apologised for not being able to perform and promised that now he had experienced it, being here with us, he would make sure that it never happened again. Of course, we shouted that it wasn’t his fault, which Namjoon also told him (‘Jungkook, it’s not your fault,’ clear and simple), and we shouted that we loved him. A chant of Jeon Jungkook broke out and Jungkook just bent over with head down so that all we could see was the back of his neck growing red as he cried. Jimin in his ment teased that Jungkook would go back and cry all night after this, and counted us in to ‘tell Jungkook you love him.’ I’m sad he cried but I’m glad we managed to show him how much we love him, that our words reached him. In spite of being injured, Jungkookie was clearly just so done with sitting by the end and did get up and walk around a bit at the front of the stage to try and properly say goodbye (this was during Answer: Love Myself, I think). Jungkookie, I hope you won’t be hurt for long and that you will be back to doing what you love in no time. Get better soon and thank you for everything.
Jungkookie wasn’t the only member to cry. I’m pretty sure Jin and V also teared up at the end. So you know, they were feeling it too. And Jimin’s ment had me crying also, I literally took one look at him as his turn came to speak and started bawling. It was quite embarrassing having to shout ‘we love you’ and ‘you’re my hero’ with a voice full of tears but I did it anyway and I hope he realised how much we love him.
BTS in London
I never expected that they’d come here until they did. I didn’t think we’d be able to get tickets until we did. Namjoon said that London is a place they’ve always wanted to come to. Jimin said that it was his first time in London. Namjoon promised that they will come back next year, which was just the most wonderful thing to hear. Jimin said they were supposed to come last year but couldn’t. Someone, maybe Yoongi or maybe V, said that London was a beautiful place, but we (ARMY) were the most beautiful thing about it. It was definitely Yoongi who said, in classic Yoongi style, that they would need a bigger stadium next time. What a total burn to the O2 arena, clearly not big enough to accommodate the size of Yoongi’s ambition. 😂
Overall
Bangtan’s is a position of immense privilege, but they hold it with such grace. They demonstrate such professionalism and kindness, yet at the same time are goddam sexy and frankly brutal in their stage personas. I am so grateful to know them and to be their fan. We were so lucky to get tickets to see their show, to get the chance to say thank you and show them our love. Bangtan, you’re my inspiration; Jimin, you’re my hero. When I need to love myself, you take me there and show me how. When I need to work on myself, you show me how to do that too. Thank you for being together with me always in your music, and making an ‘us’ together with ARMY: ‘Thank you, uri ga dwae jwoseo.’
Moments
Yoongi sprayed water on us first, and rather aggressively too. Then J-Hope did it too. Thank you for showering me (with your love). 😂
Jimin pushed back V’s hair back when he was wearing his bandana during the encore. So cuteee
Jimin took out Jungkook’s earpiece and whispered into his ear, saying something that caused him to smile.
Taehyung did finger guns with that classic boxy smile face right near us - it’s seared into my memory.

[Fan Account] 20170401 - BTS WINGS Tour in Anaheim, CA
So you guys may or may not know but I was in Anaheim last night to see Bangtan. If you'd like to find out about my experience, just keep on reading!
So my day started very early on Saturday morning. I woke up around 7AM. Since this past week was my spring break, I was accustomed to waking up at 1PM and going to bed at 4AM, so needless to say, I had trouble both falling asleep and waking up in the morning. I caught a bus from outside my dorm around 9:30AM and rode it for about an hour and a half up to Oceanside. From there, I took the train around 12PM to Anaheim and I got there around 1:30PM. Fast forward past some details no one probably cares about, I came back to the Honda center (it's right across the street from Anaheim station) around 3:30PM. Since I had an assigned seat, I didn't have to worry about lining up or anything. By that time, most of the merch was gone though, so I didn't get anything ;A; I guess it's a good that 'cause that stuff is really expensive. Anyway, after hours of sitting on the curb and waiting in line, I got in around 7PM. I was in section 204 so once I was inside, I went straight through the doors into the actual stadium. Since I was in row P, my view was a little further away but I was not complaining one bit. When I sat down, a lady gave us an orange and green bag to cover lightsticks for specific songs but I didn't get to use them since I didn't buy a lightstick. For the next hour or so, they were playing Bangtan MVs on the monitors, and y'all. Why y'all got scream... at a MV? I was amused but I expected it since at SMTOWN way back in 2011, I was one of those people who screamed at the videos playing before the show (and was judged by my dad). Anyway I was sitting there amused at the audience but also watching the screen (and screaming at Jas AKA @jeons-jalebi via text and snap). As I was sitting there, watching, it hit me and I was trembling in both nervousness and excitement, which didn't subside until deep into the actual performance. I noticed the MVs were somewhat being played in chronological order but after Spring Day, I was ready for Not Today... the MV... that's not what I got. The lights cut and the intro VCR started playing. Everyone got to their feet, screaming and waving their lightsticks. I was no exception this time (minus the lightstick, obviously). Guess what they performed first. Yup, that's right, Not Today. The rose up from the back portion of the stage and it felt like my heart stopped for a moment. Yes, I video taped it but I did NOT for one moment actually look at what I was filming cuz I wanted to focus on it with my actual eyes. Even though I held my phone very close to my chest, the footage is very shaky. Yes, it's because my body was still trembling uncontrollably. I don't think I need to tell you guys how they perform because I'm sure most of you are under the impression that they're great performers, and you'd be absolutely correct. I think after was the first ment (I say I think because I don't remember how many there were or when they happened). Everyone screamed their asses off as expected and they all introduced themselves in English and all that jazz. I was expecting this but I was not prepared. Goddamn Min YOONGI (that autocorrected to all caps and obviously, I have made zero attempt to change it) did the thing where he takes his earpiece out, closes his eyes and cups his ear. Naturally, I screamed at the top of my lungs, as did others (except the girl next to me; she was texting during half the concert lol). After that they performed Am I Wrong, 뱁새, and (I think) BS&T. I'm not sure the order but I'm pretty sure BS&T was in that mix because I know they performed it around the beginning but I don't quite remember when (I jotted the setlist during the breaks, but I had forgotten by then... I guess I was just that stunned). Yo... those motherfucking hip thrusts in 뱁새... I couldn't breathe, holy shit. Honestly, no amount of preparation can prepare you to see them and I learned that many times in the course of two and a half hours. So far, the award of hype goes to Not Today and 뱁새, which is saying something because usually I'm very reserved in public and I was by myself too. After a break, Begin started and I knew there was going to be choreography for it since Jas told me . I thought I could prepare myself for it… but I was not prepared at all. Begin is one of my favorite tracks and pairing it with dancing ruined me. I was on the verge of tears. And then Lie is performed, and in that moment, it was all over. The choreography was absolutely amazing. It was sensual and well put together. Even though it was Jimin paired with sexy dancing, that style of dancing appeals to me anyway so I was just immersed. It felt a little bit theatrical too, and the red lighting was also appealing to my aesthetic. Anyone who knows me knows much I love the color red (just like Jungkook, heh). Right after, the universe decided it was going to seal the package of that round of performances with my bias. Yes, that’s right, the first round of solos was my bias list, ending off with my ultimate. Yoongi started by sitting in the middle in front of a piano and there were two strings players sitting at each side. I could hear the emotion in his voice, honestly. He kept walking closer, down the stage and delivered the verses with closed eyes. At this point, I was just watching and crying (literally). In that moment, I all of a sudden felt so thankful that I was standing there, able to see him (and them) perform in person. I’m from Florida, so needless to say, they’ve never come anywhere near my hometown. I don’t remember which ment this was in but since I mentioned that I don’t remember which ment went where and what happened in each specific one except the beginning and end one, I’ll insert this story here. So Hoseok was going to each side, getting them/us to scream. Of course the left side would still scream when he went to the right side and vice versa, but that’s beyond the point. Yoongi, after Hoseok finished both sides, growled, and I mean GROWLED like a tiger when he said, “LOUDER!” Usually the speakers in a large concert made the pitch higher, but when Yoongi growled, his voice was the deepest I had heard from him. It sent shivers down my spine (and still does at this very moment as I think back to it) and everyone went absolutely crazy. I am no exception. Every time Yoongi prompted us to be louder, lowkey highkey, I put more effort for obvious reasons. The next set of performances were in the front part of the stage, so I got a better view of it. The vocal line started with Lost. I was really impressed by how much they’ve improved their vocals. There a lot more stable now. Lost isn’t one of my favorites but I enjoyed it (as I enjoyed the performance for every song that isn’t that high up for me). Oh, I’d like to mention that by then, I’m pretty sure my body’s trembling had subsided. I think it stopped when there was a break. After Lost was Save Me, and I Need U. The choreography for Save Me was… I can’t even describe. Obviously I’m familiar with it, but seeing it in person was so good. I could definitely tell I Need U was a favorite for many because it got even louder somehow (if you didn’t know, I tend to vibe more with the tracks that are more hip-hop infused). The next set of performances were solos again and it started with Reflection. Namjoon is one of those people whom I’ve grown to admire a lot in the past four years and seeing him perform was a reiteration of that. There’s just something about the way his voice fills the stadium… that or I’m crazy. After that was Stigma, and guys, we need to talk about Taehyung’s voice. I was so accustomed to his deep singing voice. Yes, I was aware of the high notes in Stigma, but hearing it live? This probably doesn’t mean much since I was shook to the core the whole time, but I was S H O O K. Hoseok performed Mama after, and I must say, I have a newfound love for him. The choreography was very jazzy and lively, and his smile just gave me energy. That whole performance was like a vitamin. Also I had a hard time keeping my eyes on him ‘cause the main monitor behind him and a slideshow of his baby photos and babies are my weakness. After Hobi, Jin performed, and again, so impressed with those vocals. The next set of performances… this is when shit got very real for me, and this is why: the fucking CYPHER happened. Yo, I mentioned that it’s hard to hype me that much if I’m solo and in public, but you better believe I was vibing hardcore with that shit. My mannerisms were like Yoongi’s. I was too into it to notice but when I looked back at the little snapchat video I took of the beginning of his verse, I noticed we’re similar. I also do some of the dance moves Hoseok was doing (and I’m sure some of you know the origin those dances). I’m dancing while sitting at my desk typing this up, that’s how much that performance hyped me. Right after was Fire, and of course the hype did not subside (for most people, Fire is a hype song but not my favorite - dear Lord, how many times am I going to say a variation of “hype”). They had us cover our lightsticks with either a yellow bag or an orange one for it. Following was a medley of throwbacks starting from N.O. Then they did No More Dream (I was so hyped for the former two), Boy in Luv, Danger, and Run. They only did choreography for Boy in Luv out of the older songs. They did 21st Century Girl, and then it seemed like it’d be over but after lots of screaming, chanting BTS, and changing the bags on the lightsticks to create a rainbow, they came back on, starting with Hoseok dancing to Intro: Boy Meets Evil (no, he didn’t rap too). They did BS&T again and talked to us more after. Last, they performed Interlude: Wings, 2!3!, and ended with Spring Day. Most people including me didn’t leave until the VERY end, after the ending video played on the monitor and the boys bowed with everyone. As I walked out, I was a little dizzy, still dazed, but also my ears were so blocked and my throat was very hoarse. I didn’t buy merch earlier but I bought a WINGS shirt with the tour dates on the back (which I’m wearing now)... it was $10! People just went around selling them! Jas told me to look out for stuff like that. The concert was about two and a half hours but i didn’t leave until around 11:30PM because I needed an uber to go back to the Airbnb and when I first got out, they were $45, and I was like hell no because it was $14 to get to the Honda Center. I kept refreshing but the price went up to $75. Eventually I got it at $32 though. The amount of people I screamed to about it when I was lying in bed… yeah I still have post concert shock. I came back to the dorm this morning and since Anaheim Station is close to the Honda Center, I got to meet @perpetually-jungshook :’) We didn’t hang for long; I had a crowded as fuck train to catch… but yeah, that’s it. I wanna turn back time, but the moment has passed so I’ll just pray they’ll come back soon.

my personal highlights from bts wings chicago
warning: LONG POST AHEAD + SPOILER ALERT
not today was LIIIT
taehyung was seriously born to wear a headband wow
it’s obvious the boys worked so hard on their english and they’ve gotteN SO GOOD?!
their pronunciation is so much more accurate and impressive
so during the opening greeting ppl screamed so loudly for each member
but ESPECIALLY FOR JIN?? LIKE IM SO HAPPY?!
then yoongi did his whole “i can’t heaaaaar you” gesture that pUNK
i never knew i needed to hear hobi’s “I’M YOUR HOPE, YOU'RE MY ANGEL” irl but BOY DID THAT CHANGE MY LIFE
jungkook’s footwork for Begin - I’M SPEECHLESS. THAT BOY IS SO TALENTED WTF
then we have jimin performing Lie
oh my goodness
slap me across the face and call me dummy bc THAT LITERALLY MURDERED ME
his voice is so sweet and beautiful in person like imma need that honey for my sore throat from screaming like a mad woman for him
yoongi’s performance of First Love had me so emotional
like i didn’t even scream or cheer during his performance
there was just so much emotion in his voice and eyes and you could really tell he was giving his all
and that the song meant so much to him
idk it was just one of those times that i just silently appreciated instead of losing my ish
it was seriously spine chilling
THEN LOST BY VOCAL LINE
I WISH THEY’D PUT OUT AN OFFICIAL DANCE VER OF IT MAN
but hold up- then SAVE ME all of a sudden comes on and we’re like
OHHHHH SHHHHH-
but wait, it gets better
freakin I NEED U comes on and we’re seriously all dying at this point
talk about a THROWBACK
then namjoon performs Reflection
and when he says “I wish I could love myself” we all shouted back “WE LOVE YOU”
and i can’t even describe how beautiful this interaction was b/t us and him
i really really hope he heard us loud and clear <3
then he freakin steps into this telephone booth covered in enigmatic words and phrases
tO MAKE A PHONE CALL TO GUESS WHO
that’s right
tae freakin shows up all gorgeous being filmed in a b&w filter and
LEMME TELL YOU
THE HONEY VOCALS ARE SOSO REAL
HE KILLED THOSE HIGH NOTES ALONG WITH MY POOR BROKEN SOUL
plus it was hilarious hearing all 847289 of us trying to hit the note with him
then on the screen there are these bursts of color
like LOTS of psychedelic rorschach blobs of color
and suddenly BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL HOBI comes on the screen
and the video cuts and he shows up on stage sitting in a chair
the best part of him performing MAMA is the fact that this sunshine boy was grinning during his ENTIRE performance
i was literally squealing like
HE LOOKED SO GENUINELY HAPPY TO BE PERFORMING HIS SONG AND HEARING US SING ALONG AND JAM WITH HIM
HE WAS SO SUNSHINE GUYS I THINK I WENT BLIND FROM IT ALL
and at one point the music cut and he grabbed the mic stand
and sang the bridge with no music and WE DIED
JUNG HOSEOK NEEDS TO SING MORE OFTEN PERIOD.
then things slow down with jinnie peforming Awake
which BTW
HIS VOCALS LIVE ARE SO AMAZING TOO DON’T SLEEP ON THIS MAN HE’S SO TALENTED
and apparently there was a plan to scream “YOU CAN FLY” after he’d sing “Maybe I-I can never fly”
but @infireation and i were the only ones to scream it
OH WELL I HOPE HE HEARD US AND OUR UNDYING LOVE
ok and freakin when they performed Fire
I THOUGHT WE WERE GONNA BURN THE ENTIRE STADIUM DOWN
like 3:33 is the most outrageous thing to see live
then this guy behind me was like
“damn how are all these fans so good at following along to every word of the song”
and im like THAT’S RIGHT SON
FI-YUHHHHHHH HAH HAH HA HA
then we got super emosh because they decided to have us go on a feel trip with a BTS HISTORY MEDLEY
with N.O, No More Dream, Boy in Luv, Run, and others
guys my memory’s already fading i’m definitely forgetting other songs as;dlkfaf but anywho
then hobi KILLS Intro: Boy Meets Evil
only to pull a plot twist as it bleeds into BLOOD SWEAT TEARS
and again we’re like OH SHHHIIII DID NOT SEE THAT COMING
okay and although Outro: Wings is one of my fave jams
i didn’t think it was that popular or that they’d sing it
BUT MAN
IM SORRY I EVER DOUBTED ARMY OR THIS SONG BC WE WERE JUMPING AND SCREAMIN AND LOSING OUR MINDS
SPREAD SPREAD SPREAD MY WIIIIIIINGS
and hobi’s wearing his little whale hat he bought at the Shedd Aquarium during the song
and even says in english that he bought it when namjoon teased him about it and it was so cute omg
then they do an closing ment and everyone says one comment each
and jimin starts and shoots an arrow into my heart with his english
and in korean he’s like “thank you so much, we hope to come back soon”
and im all YOU BETTER COME BACK TO ME HUBBY IMMA DIE WITHOUT YOU
yoongi’s starts off in english but then is like “uh, can i speak in korean?”
and ofc bc he could obviously hear me, i scream back “NEHHHH”
but then he’s just like “chicago, saranghaeyo.” and im crackin up like
brehh everyone knows at least that
jin freakin says he feels like he was born again during this concert
and then he’s kissing his palm over and over again saying to us “this is you and me"
tHIS GUY ASD;LKFJAF
then namjoons talking about how they really enjoyed their time in chicago
THEY WENT TO THE WATER TOWER PLACE AND BASICALLY WERE JUST MILES AWAY FROM ME THESE PAST FEW DAYS IM NOT OK
and then he ends me and @infireation when he says
"yeah if i were to live in america, i’d live in chicago”
THAT JUST DID IT FOR US WE DIED
then tae goes and he pulls his cap down and his voice starts to crack
and we think hes crying only for him to start smiling
THAT FAKER WAS FAKING IT THAT LITTLE A;SLDFJAFJL HE’S SO CUTE
and he’s all “i love you. no, i really love you."
*dies for the 75284th time*
hobi’s all smiles and when the cheering dies down a little
my body acts on its own and all of a sudden im screaming
JHOOOOOOOOOOPE (for you @hobisoo)
no regrets
then he says "you are our wings. let’s all fly higher together” with the most beautiful pronunciation
then jungkook’s like “i hope to see you guys again soon. even though we’re far away, we’re always together” in his amazing english
and namjoon butts in and is like
“i saw him memorizing his ment a thousand times backstage before this”
HOW FRUCKIN CUTE IS THAT THIS GOLDEN BOY WORKS SO HARD
then with the gorgeous rainbow sea of ARMY Bombs
they sing the fan song 2,3 and at this point if i wasn’t so dehydrated i would’ve started crying
it was just so beautiful and surreal for me to be in that moment, singing that song, reminiscing how long i’ve been their fan and journeying with them from the start to here
and how i was actually seeing them in the flesh, finally
i can’t even explain the feeling. i’m just so stinkin proud and filled to the brim with emotions
then they perform spring day and i capture that yoonmin moment during yoongi’s rap
and i will keep that picture forever MY LIFE HAS BEEN MADE
WHERE MY YOONMIN SHIPPERS AT
then the spring day bgm keeps rolling in the back as they’re bowing and what not
and yes, at the very end, i did wave my arms like a crazy person at namjoon who came to our side
and since we were at the edge he saw us
@infireation blew a ksis at him
and he blew one back
literally
dead
but then they leave and it hits me that it’s actually over
it seriously went by in the blink of an eye but now i really see what people mean when they say bts really knows how to put on a show
it was seriously so much fun, with so much dancing and uninhibited enjoyment
and they looked so genuinely happy to just be there and perform for us
i will never ever forget this night and how lucky i am to be a fan of one of the greatest, most humble, hardworking and down to earth groups known to man
thank you for being OUR wings, bts
let’s fly together <3

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards were a teary affair: performers at the Staples Center took the stage below the retired jerseys of Kobe Bryant, who was killed in a helicopter crash earlier in the day. But the night also included triumphs for first-time Grammy winners like Lizzo, who kicked off the show with a jubilant performance, and Billie Eilish, who swept the big four categories for the first time since Christopher Cross in 1981. Here are the best and worst moments of the night.
Best: Alicia Keys’ capable hosting
Tumblr media

Hosting awards shows is a risky and thankless business—and despite all that’s gone wrong for Oscar hosts over the past few years, the Grammys are perhaps the hardest gig of them all. Given the behind-the-scenes chaos that has engulfed the Recording Academy, so many things could have gone wrong for host Alicia Keys. An overeager exuberance could have felt alienating to the portion of the music business calling for more diversity and accountability, while skepticism could have weighed down the entire night (see: this year’s Golden Globes). And that’s all before the news of Kobe Bryant’s death broke on Sunday afternoon, sending the Staples Center into a stunned sense of collective mourning.
But Keys rose to the occasion, handling an extremely awkward situation with flexibility and poise. Her impromptu a capella performance of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” with Boyz II Men was a cathartic moment, and a perfect way to handle a tribute that could have dissolved into insincere treacle. (The performance also continued the song’s powerful legacy as a tribute anthem: Barrio Boyzz played it after Selena’s death, and Usher performed it for Aaliyah).
Keys was equally comfortable commanding the stage as she was doing crowd work; she also nailed a conversational performance of her new song, “Underdog.” After her successful second stint, she’s quickly becoming to the Grammys what Billy Crystal was to the Oscars.
Best: Tyler the Creator’s fiery performance
Tumblr media

Grammy performances often skew staid, with rising stars asked to sandpaper over their rough edges and modulate their aesthetic toward that of a much older one-time collaborator. But Tyler the Creator refused to do so, forcing the telecast to go along with his much more alienating and iconoclastic vision.
Instead of moving onto Boyz II Men’s throwback turf, Tyler let them sing the rich harmonies on “Earfquake” and then put them on top of a terrifying, burning set of houses while he gasped and wheezed through “New Magic Wand,” one of the best songs on his album Igor. His spastic dancing, the glitching camera work, his gravelly sweet-sour singing and the terrifying set, perhaps a nod to the devastating fires in both Los Angeles and Australia—all reinforced the idea that he’s not just one of the world’s best rappers and producers but one of his generation’s sharpest auteurs.
He also gave two memorable speeches following his win for Best Rap Album—one onstage, in which he admonished the crowd for clapping too much and confidently steamrolled over the incidental music—and one backstage, in which he expressed frustration about the Grammys’ ghettoization of hip-hop. “Half of me feels like the rap nomination was a backhanded compliment—like oh, my little cousin wants to play the game, let’s give him the unplugged controller so he can shut up and feel good about it,” he said. It was a pointed and all-too-accurate rejoinder.

Best: Ariana Grande’s powerhouse medley
Tumblr media
Getty Images for The Recording A—2020 The Recording AcademyAriana Grande (C) performs onstage during the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards at STAPLES Center on January 26, 2020 in Los Angeles, California.
After disparaging the Grammys last year, Ariana Grande showed the Academy what they were missing by delivering a versatile powerhouse performance of cuts from her album Thank U, Next. She glided through her pink monochrome set with a cheeky ease, pairing old-school demure glamour with bombastic twerking and graceful full-throated vocal runs with effortless rapid-fire trap cadences.
Best: Redemption narratives
Tumblr media
Getty Images for The Recording A—2020 The Recording AcademyBrandi Carlile and Tanya Tucker perform onstage during the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards at STAPLES Center on January 26, 2020 in Los Angeles, California.
The Grammys love a good comeback story, and they gave the stage to two heartfelt and mesmerizing ones this year: Tanya Tucker and Demi Lovato. Tucker, a country recluse who was first nominated in 1973 and last nominated in 1994, looked a bit shellshocked to be on the Grammy stage, but handled her performance of “Bring My Flowers Now” with a steely grit.
An hour later, Lovato brought down the house with the debut of “Anyone,” written after several years of struggle with bulimia, addiction and bipolar disorder and an overdose in 2018. Lovato stumbled out of the gate, asking her pianist to restart the song after a few bars. But the slip-up—after which a single tear rolled down her right cheek—only reinforced the song’s startling emotional nakedness, which she delivered with mounting force. “A hundred million stories / And a hundred million songs / I feel stupid when I sing / Nobody’s listening to me,” she sang. She couldn’t have been more wrong.
Worst: The incessant bleeping
Tumblr media
FilmMagic—2020 Jeff KravitzSteven Tyler of Aerosmith (C) with Darryl McDaniels and Joseph Simmons of Run-DMC perform during the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards on January 26, 2020 in Los Angeles, California.
And the Grammy for most frequent performer at this year’s show goes to… whoever controls the bleeping. It seemed like during every other performance or speech, the broadcast fell silent altogether, completely halting momentum and goodwill. To kick off the night, Lizzo was bleeped; so were Ariana Grande, Nas, Aerosmith, Gary Clark Jr. and Billie Eilish, and then Eilish again. I know we’re on CBS. But could they not have worked out substitutions, or like, sent out a memo about profanity before the show?
Worst: So many no-shows
In practically every award category, there was a conspicuous static portrait filling one fifth (or one eighth) of the screen. No Lady Gaga, no Taylor Swift, no Dave Chappelle, no Young Thug, no Beyoncé, no Bon Iver. Their no-shows just reinforced the idea that many of the most important people in music don’t really care about the show anymore.
It’s hard to tell whether any of the acts declined to show in support of fired ex-president Deborah Dugan—but whatever the reason, these no-shows just reinforced the idea that the Grammys’ relevance has waned.
Worst: Crowd Diversity
If the Grammys wants to show its increased commitment to representation, it could start with maybe finding some people of color to put in the mosh pit. When YG came out to pay tribute to Nipsey Hussle and explore the relationship of Crips and Bloods and the plight of gang violence in Los Angeles, he was met by a too-enthusiastic almost-all-white crowd. And when Gary Clark Jr. delivered a bitter and scathing performance of “This Land”—in which his declaration “F-ck you I’m America’s son” was bleeped—he was also greeted with a volley of white hands.
Best: “Old Town Road”
Tumblr media
Getty Images for The Recording A—2020 The Recording AcademyLil Nas X and BTS perform onstage during the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards at STAPLES Center on January 26, 2020 in Los Angeles, California.
While this year’s Grammys clearly needed to include the biggest song of all time, the song presented something of a logistical challenge. How could one stage hold so many distinct personalities, from Lil Nas to BTS to Mason Ramsey, and fold them into one cohesive whole?
The answer was obvious in retrospect: a spinning a lazy susan that allowed Lil Nas to strut through several sets, each containing a different aesthetic and set of performers, before combining them all into one room. BTS brought a shaggy charisma with their seated dancing; Billy Ray Cyrus evoked the best Clint Eastwood movies with his stoic delivery of his unimpeachable verse. But Lil Nas saved the biggest surprise for last: the original Nas himself, who sounded invigorated over the ominous beat of “Rodeo.” Nas’ appearance effectively passed his torch to a much younger rapper, whose center of gravity and communal spirit throughout the performance showed his potential as far more than a one-hit-wonder.
