Hi I hope I am not bothering you I wanted to ask if you had a recommended beginners reading guide for Tim Drake I got recommendations for other bat-family members but everyone seems to have a different take on Time I have seen a few that says don't read red robin 2009 before you are familiar with the his character but I didn't really find anywhere else to start either if you know would you please help me with that

also i know you've been reccomended htmlerror's reading list of the authority and while i use that amongst the lists i use for reading apollo and midnighter as well as the rest of the authority, i use these lists too:

first link is really a reading list master list so it's more like 4+ reading lists (including the one you were already sent). last link is a timeline of wildstorm authority stuff from wikipedia. not one reading list has all their comics so i have used all of these to read through, alongside htmlerror's reading list.

if you're keen on reading every apollo and midnighter appearance, the caard will really help, though i can't say it's particularly worth it reading every appearance outside of being able to say you've read every appearance of them and know which ones have been good to the authority characterization and story-wise.

anyways here is a list of my personal favorite headcanons:

first off, I hc that he's great with small children or babies, cause he used to take care of his sister when she was very young

He squeezes himself into fuckass crevices or sleeps in trees when he has to camp out and the hunt or mission took longer than he anticipated and there's no inn near (that being said, he would probably kind of suck at making campfires the normal mortal way cause why go through all that effort when you can just blast qi to light up the branches + he never needed to ever since he cultivated a core)

can smoke or grill some banger meat, he sometimes shares it with his disciples and they love it

secretly is a little vain, afterall someone put that braid there and having a long piece of hair dangling in front of ur face isn't very practical for certain situations

probably cuddles with cheng luan, need I say more?

him and his sister look very similar (except for height) so they can usually get away with swapping identities

he looks like he stands on his tiptoes most of the time (based on the eng novel art, Ik that's prolly just for dynamic posing sake but this is such an awkward stance for a normal human being lmfao)

probably autistic, i can feel it in my bones

he can crawl on all fours really efficiently for no reason, sometimes uses this skill to scare/test his disciples

giggly typa drunk, i just think it's cute

mf is stacked so he often overestimates the monetary value of items, great for the seller, excruciating for whoever was assigned to accompany monitor him

views food as another testament to his physical will, loves spicy food (but also really likes sweets)

in a modern au, he would be so untech savy it would make your 90 yo grandpa look like a NASA engineer

his closet is one of those cartoon ones where its the exact same fit across the board

Read the first two chapters of your fic. Going to explode. It's so good!!!

Your writing style is very expressive and (though I'm familiar with neither setting's slang) the way you handled the slang felt super smooth and natural? I have trouble trying to use 30s slang for Noir without it coming off as a Joke, but all of it felt right for Hobie Noir and Pav. The chemistry between all of them!! The dialogue! Also the way the story seems to pace itself well between memorably different settings makes it very readable.

Final note, I'm eating the "Carries a switchblade to cut his webbing because organic-based-web doesn't have a release mechanism" headcanon. Because that's metal as hell. Best.

headcanon 3: evil and heart-breaking why would you do this;

since tim's biggest supporter for going into gymnastics to be like dick grayson was janet, i picture that she always made a massive deal when she was in town about the progress he made.

his parents have taken him out to dinner to celebrate some of his achievements in gymnastics and karate, always to a malt shop because jack wants to 'show his boy how he used to celebrate his athletic achievements'.

one night of being robin when nightwing is in town after a case together, dick randomly suggests finishing the night with a quick bite at the closest malt shop.

it was the one tim always went to with his parents.

he orders his usual and tells dick he's gonna order extra food, one serving of what his mom usually ordered and one serving of what his dad usually ordered (jack is still in a coma at the time).

he just wished his mom could see he's doing gymnastics just like dick grayson now, alongside dick grayson.

it is with great pleasure that i bestow upon you my highly-biased decision to assign you the american state of...

here's some fun facts! -michigan is the only us state that has two parts, a lower peninsula (where most of the population resides) and an upper peninsula (who everyone affectionately refers to as "yoopers"). you'd think this would result in a rivalry with the state that's connected to the UP, but actually, most people fucking hate ohio, one of the states directly underneath us.

-the fun thing about the shape of michigan is if anyone ever asks you to specify the location of somewhere within the state, you can simply hold up your hand to mimic the shape of it and point. everyone does this and it's very cute and efficient every time.

-michigan is called the Wolverine State even tho it hasn't had a confirmed stable population of the creatures since French fur trappers first started killing wildlife to sell for hats and coats ~200 years ago. we do got a FUCK ton of white tail deer though, and deer hunting season is a big enough deal here that in more rural areas, the first day of hunting season can be an excused absence from school.

-if you haven't heard of the great lakes before i highly recommend reading at least the wikipedia article about them. they are the second largest group of freshwater lakes on the whole planet and contain 21% of all of earth's freshwater. so when the inevitable water wars come, we're like, so set.

-you must root for the detroit lions. everyone roots for the detroit lions. when the detroit lions lose, everyone mourns. the detroit lions suffer for our sins, and we both resent and love them for their strife.

-detroit isn't scary. people will say it's crime-ridden but they're just racist and hate homeless folks. be very defensive of detroit at all times.

-michigan's three largest indigenous tribes are the Ojibwe, the Ottowa, and the Potawatomi. michigan is chock full of native names and it rules. say em with me: Tecumseh. Mackinaw. Okemos. Kalamazoo. Ypsilanti is a fun one too but named after a greek dude so i don't count that one

-i do regret to inform you that people up here get real defensive about three very unimportant things: calling it "pop" and not "soda", the assertion that our potholes are the worst in the country, and the application of ranch dressing on pizza. i leave it up to you which side of each fence you choose to lie upon.

F/o's fashion 👒: ngl ive been a sucker for suits for a long time. . so no big surprise there that he got love. normally i HATE wearing the formal stuff, theres too many freaking rules and it was so often uncomfortable, but once i found out i can do what i want sometimes and not all formal dress is uncomfy, i rather like to wear things like him. but even if i didnt, he looks very good in them. love a man in a suit.

AND HE HAS A CAPE. who doesnt love those. no one. thats right. one of my favorite things is that his cape wasnt ever actually red, i guess people just assumed it was or it was like. . "changed" later because it was in black and white, perhaps it more had something to do with the later, also popular adaptations rubbing off on him when people thought about him later. his cape was actually white on the inside!! and very big, i would think it was heavy or im remembering a descriptor of so from the lugosi website that so beautifully archives everything to do with him and bela lugosi. loved that website, i was on it for HOURS. i should go back. .

also his medallion and its lore are so cool. no one knows what that thing exactly is, just that bela lugosi /sometimes/ wore it. they guess probably a family heirloom tho. other times, it mysteriously disappeared from the scene 👀 if you watch it youll notice the medallion is not always present. i would send you gifs, or. . yknow. . you could watch my f/o in all his glory and love him too 👀 but the funny thing is, i am almost 100% certain that thing is a sun. whatever it is, s/i 1 loves to play with it and s/i 2 is just as fascinated to hold it. they also kind of reference it on vonna too, if you look at his sash. or that was coincidence, but i choose not to think so because he was based on lugosi's dracula in his debut lore.

off the medallion rail, the ONE TIME he wears a top hat and cane is very cute.

off the usual outfit rail entirely, i have the comic where he's given the face of dracula, and his ARMOR WAS ALSO COOL, THE MAN HAS ARMOR. never once in all my years of going "yeah he might have low-key been based on vlad the impaler who i headcanon myself that he basically was in the story-" i never realized "that means he probably had armor." he was in wars. he did alchemy. he did weapon stuff. he has some crazy things somewhere in his castle from MEDIEVAL TIMES. i love this guy. he's so cool. s/i 2 especially loves the weapons of the era :))
