do you enjoy other wildlife as much as you do bugs? like, are you as fascinated by watching documentaries about like birds and things, or is it something about the little crawlies that captures your attention, that vertebrates lack? asking because i found a really cool youtube channel about birds and idk if you'd be interested lol

I like most of the critters. crevice tier of beings is

bugs (arthropods) & birds — the best forms of life.

bugs (non arthropod inverts) — wonderful beings. ponder the simplicity of worm. admire the sponge

reptiles, amphibians, plants, fungi — these all are great. but essentially bugs as well

fish — nice to look at. not my domain

I love nature documentaries though regardless of what the focus is on! even mammals are pretty cool sometimes. I’ll watch any critter/plant/fungus/lifeform documentary so long as it isn’t that awful American style of Extreme Nature With Huge Teeth! Presented By Obnoxious White Male Narrator

Hot 4am take but I feel like if we want to get people more interested in making their yards a more habitable space for wildlife like insects, we have to acknowledge that ‘Don’t want bugs in your house’ is still a 100% fair and valid point of view. ‘Loves nature’ and ‘doesn’t want roaches spiders and mosquitoes in the house’ aren’t opposites.

And with that in mind, when we propose to people that spraying pesticides around houses is Not A Good Idea, Actually, I feel like we need to give an alternative asides from ‘deal with it.’

I really love the pictures and videos you post. I love centipedes so much, they are probably my favorite animal, but I do not currently and probably will never have the means to take care of them properly. It makes me very happy to be able to see such high-quality images and videos of them, and all your other critters. Wishing joy and health to you!

I don’t think that keeping an animal is requisite to like them! I think many reptiles & snakes are beautiful and intriguing and have 0 desire to have them in my home. centipedes make really rather boring pets, anyway—the videos I get are of rare interactions; most of ‘pede keeping is checking on an apparently lifeless box of dirt to see if there’s anything to clean.

I would be perfectly content with nobody getting inspired to keep bug pets from my account. they can do a lot for people, educationally and ecologically, from their place in the wild, which is where most species belong. it sort of makes me upset when there’s a picture of a beautiful animal and all of the comments on it are how they want it for a pet. they’re worth so much more to the world than that!

if you’ve got the capability and responsibility to keep bugs, support captive breeding, and can love animals that really don’t do anything most of the time, then certain invertebrates do make for fascinating pets.

The criticism that I've seen that Gwiles/Ghostflower receives that they "are only so connected bc they're both spiders" is silly cuz idk how to break it to ya but that's the whole point.

The point of the first movie and the reason why Spider Gang got so attached to each other so quickly is cuz they thought they were going through all of their struggles alone until they've met. They repeat this several times in the movie.

Because what they're doing is hard and they feel like no one understands them, not really, because no one in their universes has the same powers and backstories, until they found out that there are others who went through basically the same things they were going through. And it is what brought the whole team closer, and Miles and Gwen as love interests. It's not that they're only attracted to each other because of that - Miles and Gwen even started getting along before they knew about each other's powers - but that was exactly what made them (I'm talking about the whole team now as well as M and G as a potential couple) so considerate of each other from the start.

That's the plot (or one of many plots) of the movie.
