#but Hunter is definitely not the mentor he is Confused

At some point I want to write a whole thing about how Hunter is a complete deconstruction of the Mentor Figure. I often think about how he's definitely set up like one initially and then proceeds to teach Omega essentially jack shit because he never had any idea what's going on. Hunter cannot mentor he doesn't know how that works, he confronts every issue with the sullen weight of someone that needs an adultier adult but knows that there isn't one available.

"The Entropy Effect" review
Tumblr media
Novel from 1981, by Vonda N. McIntyre (same author of the novelizations for the Star Trek movies II, III and IV). This is also the first TOS novel of the Pocket Book line, not counting the novelization for TMP. Even though the Bantam books have some nice stories (in particular, those by the Haldeman brothers are pretty decent), they all seem more like episodes of the series. This is the first time I had the impression of reading a proper novel, and the leap in quality is evident. I really, really liked this novel. It's also veeeery sad; it even made me shed some tears. Of course the reader knows this is Star Trek, and everything will turn out fine in the end, but the sense of despair the author conveys is quite effective nonetheless.
The characters are given much depth, and even the bunch of new additions receive proper attention, and their own side-stories and aspirations. The relations between the triumvirate are pretty much flawless (with echoes from "The Tholian Web"; Spock and McCoy are the real protagonists here). And surprisingly, Sulu has his own subplot and a romance story.
I can't really think of many downsides. Maybe it's a bit slow at the beginning, specially since it needs to introduce the new cast. But as I found the original characters interesting and likeable, it wasn't a major issue for me. Also, the story involves time-travel, so expect the usual head-scratching moments. Though as far as I noticed, there were no plot holes.
Some spoilers below the cut:
Spock is investigating an unusual black hole, and his observations make him reach the disturbing conclusion that entropy is rapidly accelerating, and the universe may have little more than 100 years to disappear. He's about to confirm his suspicions, when the Enterprise is suddenly diverted to the Aleph Prime station by a maximum priority message, so Spock has to leave his work half-finished.
In the station, they're greeted by prosecutor Ian Braithewaite, who is confused at first, since he didn't send any urgent message. Nonetheless, he had asked for a ship to help him bring a prisoner to a rehabilitation colony, so Kirk accepts, once he learns the identity of such prisoner. He's an old physics professor of Spock: George Mordreaux, and Spock is sure he can prove his mentor's innocence, for the charges of murder and unethical experimentation. But when he tries to learn more about the case, he finds all info and details have been erased, so there's something definitely fishy about it all. In the station, Kirk also reunites with Captain Hunter, an old girlfriend, and has serious doubts about his decision to break up with her. He even considers the option of leaving the Enterprise and giving another chance at their relationship. For his part, Sulu has fallen in love with the new security chief: Mandala Flynn. But leaves her, and the Enterprise, to join Hunter's crew, in the hope that this will further his career.
Thus the Enterprise, minus Sulu, starts the trip to the rehab colony, with Modreaux and Braithewaite aboard. Spock insists the professor isn't dangerous, and places minimal security on him. Everything goes awry when the professor appears inexplicably on the bridge, and shoots Kirk and Mandala with a spiderweb gun. This spiderweb has really gruesome effects: it creates some sort of metallic web inside a body, which expands quickly through all organs, even covering the eyes. However, Mordreaux doesn't seem to have left his cell at all, and no intruder or imposter is found aboard. Soon thereafter, Mandala is dead. While McCoy completely breaks down, and insists on keeping Kirk artificially "alive" through machines (though deep down, he knows Kirk is dead for real). In the end, Spock convinces McCoy to disconnect the machines. And there's a gut-wrenching scene, in clinical detail, where McCoy starts turning off all the life systems on him.
After Kirk's death, Spock and McCoy are left in a similar situation as in "The Tholian Web". Though in the episode Kirk had simply disappeared, so there was still hope. Here things are far more depressing. McCoy can't accept Kirk's death, and pressures Spock to try time-travel to save him. Spock refuses to play like that with the space-time continuum. However, while interrogating the professor in his cell, Spock learns that the real reason he's convicted, is because he's been tampering with time travel through a new device. This disruption may be behind the entropy effects Spock had previously discovered. And it's also behind the murder of Kirk, at the hands of a future, insane version of Mordreaux. Since all these events are the results of time alterations, Spock needs, in fact, to travel back in time, and restore things to their original order.
With the help of the (still sane) professor, Spock initiates a series of failed attempts at fixing things in the past. While gradually deteriorating through each time travel. And McCoy has a hard time, being left in charge of the ship and covering up for Spock (they can't tell anyone else about the device, in fear of being arrested for it, just as Mordreaux). Meanwhile, Braithewaite is being a pain in the ass, and gets paranoid about Spock and McCoy having conspired to murder Kirk. He even manages to make Scotty suspicious of them, so things get even more complicated.
In summary, the stakes are pretty high, and the story gets really exciting (and sometimes frustrating for poor Spock and McCoy).
McSpirk Meter: 10/10. I usually only rate the Kirk/Spock material, since is far more common, and ranges wildly from one novel to another (with some of them being borderline slash). But in this occasion is impossible to separate the members of the triumvirate, as the love goes in all three directions.
For starters, there's Spock casting aside all his reservations about hand touching, when Kirk is shot with the spiderweb (maybe this is the first time it's explicitly stated that Vulcans avoid touching hands?). He tries to mind-meld with Kirk while he's dying, perhaps to die himself instead, but Kirk pushes him away to save him.
Then there's the absolutely devastating effect that Kirk's death has on McCoy. He gets totally drunk, breaks down among sobs, and finally passes out. Spock carries him in his arms and puts him to bed; then keeps watch while he sleeps. Later, McCoy starts crying again while viewing Kirk's last will. But once he learns it's possible to bring him back, he's all sunshine once more. Still, the mere reliving of his death is enough to bring him to tears, even while on the bridge. McCoy's pain for losing Kirk is also compared to that of Hunter (who was Kirk's lover), and Sulu's grief for Mandala (also a lover). When Hunter asks McCoy what he has to gain by helping Spock in his mysterious plans, he answers "everything".
Spock deals with the loss of his Captain in a far more subdued, Vulcan way, but it's evident he's falling apart too. He doesn't want to stay in the Enterprise anymore, and once he completes his duties aboard, he's probably going to leave Starfleet altogether.
McCoy has also some tender moments with Spock while treating his wounds, and choosing civilian clothes for him (which he says that enhance Spock's eyes).
Once everything's been solved, Spock lies in bed while recovering, and Kirk and McCoy take turns watching him. Only Spock remembers the events of the altered timeline (for everyone else it feels just like a nightmare). And Spock's reaction upon waking up and seeing Kirk alive has to be read to believe it. Let's say, a mixture of "this simple feeling", and his smile at the end of "Amok Time".

I am desperate to know more about the Darius’ OC found family that all die tragically and horribly, even just the spark notes on his relations to them would be so cool to see.
HOO BOY.
okay i can give you the sparknotes of what i'd developed for the prequel. maybe someday i'll write all this in full. but in the meantime, these are the basics. (if anyone here is a fan of wwaitsoatl and wants Extended Darius Backstory.... come get ya juice)
i still need to flesh out more of the ensemble cast but the three most plot-relevant OCs are talia, daphne, and cayden. haven't figured out last names, none have any direct relation to canon toh cast members bc i do Not want to weave a bunch of confusing family trees.
the shape of the arc is what's described in chapter 9 of wwaitsoatl. darius's mentor -- whose name was hunter, but i'll call him GG here for the sake of clarity -- was involved with wild magic and wild witches.
this started out as a way for him to channel his own power without being dependent upon belos & the empire's technology. it turned into a much more involved double life rebelling against the coven system and trying to get belos to relax the empire's grip on the isles.
knowing what you do about belos, the natural response to this is. uh-oh!!
darius wanders into all of this by accident when he catches GG and cayden tattooing n enchanting Very Clearly Fake coven sigils on a couple 'new recruits.'
cayden is a witch about GG's age, maybe a little older, who Supposedly belongs to the bard coven but..... doesn't, really. he's been working on making passable fake sigils for a while.
GG swears darius to secrecy, darius wants to find out more, darius ends up meeting other witches who are important to GG.
uh oh this is getting long. meet daphne and talia under the cut.
cayden is one of GG's lovers/partners, daphne is the other, because i'm polyamorys georg and i do what i want. daphne is a wild witch who's never joined a coven.
at this point in the empire, joining the coven system is Strongly Encouraged but has not yet been fascistly enforced. most younger people have joined one, but not all. there's definite messaging about how your magic is Incomplete without a coven and you're betraying your peers and denying your selfhood by not joining one.
daphne's main talents lie in plant and oracle magic. she's been working on restoring and protecting groves of palistrom wood -- even at that point, the environmentally-conscious witches can tell that Something's going wrong with the trees.
i'd say that she has some similarities to willow, at least in terms of What She Cares About. but she's also much more ready to brawl at any given moment, much less nice, and much worse at putting on a brave face under pressure.
(cayden, on the other hand, is excellent at remaining calm and keeping the peace. both in the triad and in high-pressure political situations. everything about social camouflage that darius didn't learn from GG himself, he learned from cayden.)
the worst interpersonal conflict in the story happens between daphne and GG, around the middle of the story. eventually GG's stalling and diversion tactics stop working & belos orders him to requisition daphne's groves for the empire.
this is not an order that GG can say no to.
he's never told daphne exactly what belos does with the palismen. but she has oracle and plant magic and she's been hyperfocused on the palistrom trees for years. She Knows.
daphne is not going to let belos have this magic.
she sets fire to every single one of her trees.
which. is. fucking devastating.
the ensuing fight between her and GG in the ashes is so vicious that it probably could've ended with one of them dead,
if not for talia.
talia is an older witch, in her late fifties. keep in mind that the empire has only existed for 20 years at this point. talia was well into middle age when the empire fully unified the isles, and she'd been fighting it tooth and nail prior to that. she remembers pre-empire life and she believes it's achievable again.
if daphne parallels willow, then talia most closely parallels eda. except that she's actually much more relaxed and LESS likely to brawl and has a much healthier social life. talia believes that individual resistance isn't nearly as strong as a network of people all sharing their resources together.
she's the closest thing to a mother that GG has. she's the one who helped darius learn complex sewing skills (he could at least patch things up on his own, prior). she is Determined not to let the empire take any of these kids from her, directly or indirectly. so she intervenes in daphne and GG's fight before either of them can get hurt.
darius spends some time working with talia and cayden on strengthening his own magic. largely behind GG's back, bc GG does not want darius taking on any unnecessary risks. talia and cayden aren't exactly malicious, but they Do let darius push himself further than he really should.
eventually talia is arrested -- the exact mechanics don't matter. what matters is that belos knows that she's close to GG, even though she isn't saying a word. so he calls GG and darius into the throne room, shuts the doors, and tells GG to carry out her sentence of petrification.
it is Very Clear that this is a test. it is Very Clear that any protest or argument will be taken as treason.
GG does what he's told. darius watches.
after it's over, belos asks to speak with darius alone. i've actually written this scene in full. GG very nearly blows his cover, darius convinces him to keep his shit together. belos does not hurt darius, just playacts the oh-so-concerned uncle. extremely threatening about it. you'd tell me if he was in trouble, wouldn't you??
darius leaves the chamber with GG, who immediately goes out looking for cayden.
cayden is gone. his door's been kicked in. the house is a mess.
GG has a panic attack. 'he knows, he knows we were in here.' horrible echoes of that scene in hollow mind. darius hugs him through it. GG asks him if he's been practicing all the dangerous magic bullshit that GG told him not to. then begs darius to use said dangerous magic bullshit to go warn daphne and the others in their network.
GG promises that he's going to finish all of this, one way or the other. he says he should have finished it back before petrifying talia. or hell, back when everything happened with the palistrom groves. it is very clear that he intends to kill belos.
daphne and the rest of the ensemble cast are already gone by the time darius reaches their usual hideouts.
GG is already gone by the time darius gets back to the palace.
belos announces that his nephew was murdered by wild witches. and that he has the traitors in custody.
cayden and daphne and the others in the ensemble are petrified for GG's murder.
darius is the only one left who knows the truth about what happened. darius is the only one who knows that this is all a political sham being stirred up to make coven conscription mandatory, stamp out all remaining wild witchery, and enact a slew of new fascist laws.
and darius is the only one left who knows exactly how cayden faked coven sigils. the only one who can pass on that knowledge. and the only one who can secure a position in which fake coven sigils won't come under too much scrutiny.
there's only so much he can do to honor the others' memories. if he stands against the empire alone, he'll be killed. belos is already SO suspicious of him.
he does what he can very, very quietly instead.

A funny idea about H:SR Kaeya that I have jokingly introduced and then it has fucked me over for the past hours:
The concept of ''people'' important to the faction of the Enigmata being literally not people, per se- but, instead, akin to Gallagher, only ''beings'' made of traits they acquire from multiple existences.
The very definition of them and what they used to be is an enigma itself, fitting of the Path that these entities decided to follow until their very existence has been shrouded in mystery. Only some people remember them- while others are completely unaware of their existance. Despite the entity being mere feet away from them, the person will legitimately be confused if we name them, like the scene where Gallagher himself is standing very close to a minion of the Family, but they don't know him at all.
Considering that Kaeya will 100% take on @daybreakrising's Gallagher as his mentor and familiar figure, there's the possiblity that the latter has taught him how to discard who Kaeya was for a multitude of reasons.
The fact that Kaeya has been on multiple planets and altered multiple memories related to the Great Catastrophe, thus disrupting the work of the Remembrance and Preservation in the worst possible way, and there still hasn't been a wanted poster with his face, name and bounty on it like with the Stellaron Hunters is suspicious in itself. If somebody was to try and trace his identity back to when he was a younger person, they'd find his existence void and null. There used to be a young man who had witnessed the destruction of his planet due to it's greed-
Now, there's only a cobalt-haired young man that seems to strike the chord of resemblance to a certaint someone that we know- that is ''Kaeya''.
And, underneath those traits, there's only a ''being''.
You know someone that has ceased to exist. You have talked with someone who has, by now, eluded reality itself. The person that you love, that you had tea with, that you put a bandaid on, that you have talked to, smiled to and touched has never existed.
This could be ''Kaeya''.

ok nvm i'll elaborate right now
i think one of the many weird choices in the finale was to make belos possess raine out of all people. one, because it really comes out of the blue. when has belos ever shown any interest of raine? like, i'm sure he must be aware of raine's record of plotting against the establishment, but he never deals with them himself. instead he sends a plethora of other people to do it for him (darius, eberwolf, kikimora, terra). if anything, it is terra that has a bone to pick with them. and in a parallel work where raine got more to do, i believe terra and raine's dynamic would've been something really interesting to explore. kinda like the relationship between atreus and odin in GOW ragnarok, like this "okay i know you hate me and all that i stand for, but i see potential in you so i'll take you under my wing and prove to you that i am worth of your time and loyalty" kinda thing, which is a banger dynamic btw.
but the second part is that there are two way more attractive options. the first one, immediately on demand, is darius. ofc it would take some canon time of developing that dynamic between belos and darius (it pains me that it doesn't exist), but it would make sense that belos would keep a close eye on darius. after all, he was mentored and was a good friend of the previous golden guard, and it's implied in various scenes (mostly ASIAS) that he knows enough about hunter's "ancestors" to praise him when he doesn't follow orders, and ultimately play the long-con to betray belos. he may even be aware in some sense of belos killing the previous golden guard, or even the existence of the grimwalkers. in that case, it would make sense that belos would have built some resentment towards him that ultimately shows in the choice to possess, corrupt and kill his puppeteer-ed body. but then, there's an even better option here, and a character that belos has hide a long-time resentment against: lilith.
look, if belos remembers luz from all those years ago, then he abso-fucking-lutely remembers lilith as well. and in a sense you can interpret the actions in canon as him trying to exert his personal vendetta against her: keep her close in the emperor's coven, trying to get her sister to join and get branded with a sigil with the promise that he'll cure her from her curse, all this while knowing that she would eventually betray him and join luz's side. we know belos kept her close for a reason and he knows the extent of her abilities, her history and relationship with eda, and her weaknesses as well. belos possessing lilith, then, would not only be the definitive "fuck you" to her, but could've also been an effective way to provoke eda emotionally and lead her to abandon her hideout to confront him. and honestly, from the way belos acts in that scene in FTF, his reaction to finding the best candidate to possess would make so much more sense if it was lilith and not raine.
but like, aren't lilith and raine just... insanely similar characters in the show's narrative? both are figures of eda's past, who loved each other sincerely back in simpler times, and through plot-related actions (raine's reason is much better narratively though, IMO) abandoned eda and joined the opposing side, climbing the ranks through their powerful abilities until becoming important figures in the coven circle. trying to think about the things i'd change in canon to make raeda a better couple involve making them go through similar plot beats that eda and lilith have gone through: an emotional, powerful moment where raine has to choose between their position of power and eda's wellbeing, actual tension between them (resentment and guilt from eda's side, frustration and confusion from raine's side), situations where they are forced to colaborate and their chemistry can still come through but still their dynamic is permeated by those lingering wounds... like, all of those things are stuff that already happened in canon, between eda and lilith. there's even that moment in king's tide where eda has the same somber moment with raine and lilith before executing their sabotage:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to me, it event seems like lilith got a lot of attention and development with eda in S1 and early S2 and then her character got sidelined when raine started to appear, and simultaneously: how raine's backstory and conflict of interest with eda are pretty much an afterthought but they still get to be a key player in the plot through late S2 and S3. i'm really sorry that economic character construction has to work this way, but that's how it is: you don't get to give eda a sister and a significant other and then make those two characters the same one. you have to commit to just one and integrate all aspects onto them.

Hi hey just stumbled upon your toh switch au posts and got instantly hooked on the idea, could you give me a rundown of it? I don't have time to look through all the posts but I'm super curious about it ;-;
Lol there’s not that many posts tbh and It definitely helps the explanation to have visual context but I don’t mind explaining. Cant give a full explanation because I’ve been working on a comic! Glad you’re curious! It’s a real fun AU to work on.
Luz and Hunter are born around 1600 in early America. They meet when she is around 7 and he is around 9. They are not blood related but do end up being adopted brother and sister. After they both become orphans they end up in Gravesfeild and stay there permanently for a few years. Luz and Hunter have a loving but strained relationship. Hunter believes that to protect the only family he has left he’s got to be fearless and tireless. Luz is oblivious to the struggle of her brother and finds herself confused and upset at his sudden personality change. She wants to help him but he won’t let her. What kind of sister does that make her?
In the time skip it’s the early 2000s. 400 years have passed and the Iles has a new Empress — Luz and a right hand Golden Guard Caleb. Caleb doesn’t wander from his mentor or the castle often but on a coincidental day out saves a human boy from getting killed (Philip). Ages not specified. Caleb meets Evelyn a few years later even though the Empress has given him strict orders to never go near her or the opposite side of the Iles. He befriends her and falls for her much to his own confliction. He loves his guardian but now often has to break her trust. How can he call himself her protector if he isn’t there for her?
😘

Things I thought about after Watching and Dreaming, with no particular order. Much of this is pulled directly from my notes document
Hunters tv tropes page says Caleb is hinted to be albino
Lilith may have let Luz fall in Agony of a Witch if Eda hadn't sent Owlbert to catch her
Hunter relaxes slightly with everyone else at the beginning of For the Future when Luz says she's okay after coming out of the portal. He's relieved she's okay, even wrapped up in his own head as he is
Belos lights up the Titan's opposite eye from the one the Titan has lit. The Titan has a functioning left eye but a dim right one, and Belos lit the right one. King has a crack on the left side of his skull, Eda has a grey left eye, Luz has a scar over her left eyebrow. All of the Flapjack tattoos are on the left side except for Hunter's, which is where his sigil was (or is, if they had just started developing that technology and hadn't removed it yet)
The palistrom shortage was not only from Belos taking palismen, but also using the wood to make grimwalkers
Oh no did he ask Hunter to kill the Selkidomus because he expected this grimwalker to be the last and he wasn't giving himself room for failure. He needed to complete his mission, and failure wasn't an option if he couldn't make more grimwalkers. Because he had to have Caleb in the picture.
The fact that the show itself says point-blank that Belos is genuinely delusional and his goals are self-serving (through the Titan talking with Luz)
King never saw the room full of Titan skulls in Edge of the World, so he's seeing it for the first time in Watching and Dreaming
Luz's scene of standing and watching Belos melt while he tries to talk to her perfectly mirrors the scene of ghost Caleb standing and watching Belos melt while Belos tries to talk to him. They have the same expressions, angles, shots. And it's flipped. The scene is flipped. It's literally mirrored. And she has a similar hair thing going on. A fluffy hair noodle.
The speech Belos gave to Luz probably parallels how he tried to convince his brother
Luz's Titan magic orb is like the light glyph. King also had one when he yelled at Belos. Also Luz was zapping around like Hunter, the sound effect is even reminiscent
The parallels between Belos' skeletal form and the Titan's skeletal form
Waffle/s sitting on Hunter's head at the very end,,, feels familiar. No I'm not crying
Alador doesn't hunch anymore, and his belt has three symbols for each of his 3 kids
King finally got to play catch
Willow is definitely about to kiss Hunter in the Grom photo. Also look at his suit. Atrocious. Absolutely wretched. Perfect.
Green fungus vs red grass. Just. The colors in general there's so so so much going on there I have so many thoughts about it
Polly
The fact that Caleb's kindness and forgiveness did not work on Philip. Caleb hugged his brother even as Philip was corrupted and monstrous and it did not work. And the Collector ran into the same problem. Can you stop haunting the narrative for five minutes
Dana as a Hexside student cameo
The earrings exchange
The basilisks!!! At least two others survived!! And maybe reunited with Vee! This is excellent news
The airship with the abomination styled like the way Luz styled the Blight's household abomination to look like a cat
Dana signing Luz's writing scholarship. Luz getting a writing scholarship. Remember at the end of ASIAS when Lumity had the idea of their book club also being a writing club
Amity recognizing Luz quoting Azura in Covention (which Luz also outright states) but not saying anything. Imagine her inner dialogue, must have been so confusing
The kid who introduced sigil application way back when being the one to introduce the removal process. Good for him
Amity and Lilith have a good relationship. They were sort of like a mirror of Luz and Eda's mentor-mentee relationship such a long time ago, but less healthy. Now they're friends
Hunter gets all the family ties. Clearly a Noceda because of Thanks to Them, clearly a Deamonne from Watching and Dreaming, which also makes him a Blight, and he also gets Eberwolf with Darius because of course. If you include being a clone of Eda & Lilith's great-something grandfather AND being Luz's sister AND the fact that there may be a shared guardianship of Luz between Camila and Eda, which also includes Raine, he gets to be a Clawthorne, which also means he gets to be a Whispers. And let's not forget how he's obviously also a Park. If desired, for good measure, you can cite brotherly relation and tack on Porter as well. And don't forget the actual canon where he is adopted by the entire school as the resident cryptid
Hunter is literally a cryptid and I have been thinking about this for a very long time. I wish they got to talk about that more but they didn't, which means it's free real estate
The sheer amount of love and care baked into the finale. It's splendid. The hugs and kisses and words and actions and feelings
Eda and King both got mega evolutions. Then Luz did too
Making a stand against Belos at the site of the DOU. Paralleling prior shots, like looking over the Isles and talking about destiny, the parallels between Luz's Titan mega evolution vs Hunter's possession (there's quite a lot)
How they avoided the feeling of powercreep by keeping a lot of the actions very readable and down-to-earth. Even when they were fighting kaiju puritan with decay laser, there weren't world-shattering mega-powers. Everything was built on what we already understood. We got glyphs, we got Harpy mode and Beast mode and King's powers were heightened but they were still the same powers, we got Luz with her staff and Belos with his usual strategy, Raine fighting back in ways we already understood but also ways which meant more (like breaking their instrument). The archives collapsing and the Collector holding them up with ribbons while standing on the shooting star, we understand those powers because we saw them earlier, it made sense
While the archives start falling, Hunter zips toward Willow before stopping short when they stop falling. Hmmm now where have we seen something like that before. For reference I am talking about COTH
Amity finally using a glyph
Amity using vines, Willow using fire. That's the reversal of their usual things. Amity used the fire spell in Adventures in the Elements, that was tough for her. Willow's got plants down. Hunter using ice. Gus flying around and levitating
Hunter being able to save a palisman
Eda's absolutely MASSIVE smiles throughout
Magic coming from the heart, callback to The Intruder
The massive Titan heart in the throne room appearing way back when, and us all wondering about it, and it finally FINALLY came back with significance. Awesome
Luz burning away the rot before making an ice path to give her a clear shot at Belos. Utilizing the glyphs to their fullest, one after the other, super fast. She's become fluent in the Titan's language
Luz's confident speech to Belos paralleling her prior speeches in a moment of pure epicness as she annihilates him. And that's the last she ever says to him
The Collector crowning the Titan
The Titan acknowledging that he went after the wrong person
Everyone being so very gender
The Collector explaining "Hide and Seek" scene was just so. Intense. Them not understanding how mortals work. How empathy works. They're a young child who was raised by the wrong sort of people, they honestly didn't know any better. But that's when compassion comes in
The way the Collector flinched away from Amity paints a bad picture of the sorts of expectations he has
The Hexside kids are okay!!
Belos obviously tries one last Hail Mary, and Luz Is Not Having It
Did the rain come from Luz channeling the Titan's powers?
You can see scarring on Raine's arm. Almost matching Eda. And someone else we know. They should talk

you have GOT to post guardian pics I'm begging you. feed us (me?) information about your characters. I must know. it is imperative
TYSM FOR ENABLING ME ANON BC THEY ARE MY BLORBOS AND IM VIBRATING ABOUT THEM. buckle the fuck up because this is gonna be a long fucking post
Okay first up is Aeris Sharphawk- aro/ace, he/him. he's my main character, my hunter, and the Young Wolf of my timeline.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s half-Awoken, half-Human (I’ll get to that in a moment, he’s actually an older oc of mine that I ported over from Bloodborne whose bastard nature needed a D2 equivalent), and the older half-brother to my solar titan, Marcelline Attenbough- one of the few little remnants from their past life that they were able to discover in a diary on Marcie’s corpse when they were rezzed together (which occurred because their ghosts are twins). He’s autistic, lawful neutral, and vastly prefers using Darkness over Light because of sensory issues; his ghost (Hoarfrost, previously Mercury) mods his helmets to drastically reduce noise, but he can’t help how Arc tingles, Solar burns, and Void numbs. Tends to spend most of his battles either hyperfocused or dissociated to deal with it. As for the lawful neutral title, that’s because he doesn’t fight for the Vanguard because of a loyalty to humanity, but exclusively for the survival of the Last City and everyone in it. This extended to House Light and the Cabal under Caital instantaneously, and would do so to Eramis if she so chose, because he really just doesn’t take most things personally. He's sometimes derogatorily called 'the Vanguard's Hound' because of this.
He’s skilled with a bow, and is cursed with a resting haunted stare that can rival even the fiercest bird of prey- hence his title, given to him because his last name wasn’t present in the little diary that Marcie had when they were rezzed. Personality wise, he’s quiet, stoic, extremely efficient at what he does, fiercely protective of those he loves, and deeply curious about the unknown- though if you don’t know him, you’d never be able to guess it, because he struggles deeply with facial expressions and tone, giving him the appearance that he’s ruthlessly cold and unfeeling (pretty much the Guardian we see in game). Because of this, he tends to do much better with Eliksni than most of humanity- bar the Awoken, though Mara makes him deeply uncomfortable- and is thus far more comfortable with them. He’s the moon to Marcie’s sun, and helps keep her in check, for despite her cheery personality, she has a very strong sense of justice and a penchant for impulsive, temperamental behavior when she thinks that justice has been wronged. This goes both ways, however, as Aeris is the very definition of ‘curiosity killed the cat’; he voluntarily gets bit by venomous snakes at venom labs to see how immunity/allergies develops over time, and has a fascination with the Vex that got him a ‘needs watching’ report after he nearly jumped into a pool of radiolaria to see what would happen. The older-brother affection isn’t related to just Marcie, though; he’s unofficially adopted Eido as his younger sister (or kid? Because uhhh that curiosity of his has extended to fucking Misraaks once or twice), and is a mentor figure of sorts to Crow, though he’s unaware that Crow idolizes him; he only hunted Uldren down to keep Marcie out of trouble, as he didn’t like Cayde and was neutral on Uldren, so seeing Crow for the first time didn’t bother him at all. Tutored on occasion by Osiris, and thus has a very deep respect for him.
People other than Marcie that he likes:  Zavala, Ikora, Osiris, Eido, Misraaks, Eris, and Variks, Petrichor-12 (oc), Viper-4 (oc, lightless guardian), Crow
People he dislikes: Cayde, the Spider, Clovis Bray, Savathun, Mara Sov, Petra Venj (can’t read her very well), anyone who is loud or insistent or confusing
Primary class (Dark): Stasis
Primary class (Light): Arcstrider
Motifs: Dark, cool blue/silver, viper and hawk symbolism
Likes: Learning about things, working with the Eliksni, being good at being a hunter, bows/glaives/swords, playing with Strand, Gambit (surprisingly)
Dislikes: Crucible, loud noises, fusion rifles, snipers because of the kick (despite being very good with them), shotguns, fans and most other guardians
Fun fact: When Hoarfrost and Solaris found them, it was in a frigid part of old Russia, with Aeris holding Marcie close to his chest with his back to the door- they had frozen to death while trying to keep each other warm, and were under a thick layer of permafrost. When they were risen, they found out their names, their relationship to each other, and the fact that their father was a cheating bastard who produced Aeris after screwing an Awoken woman for the novelty of it because Marcie had a little diary in her front pocket, which had been somewhat preserved by the cold. Both their ghosts theorize that the reason why Aeris is so drawn to Stasis and Marcie to Solar is because of how they died, though neither guardian will say anything about it. He can also speak near-fluent Eliksni.
.
Then there’s Marcie, younger half-sister to Aeris and the sun to his moon; she/her, Solar Titan, lesbian, lawful good. Where he is quiet and introverted, she is loud and bombastic, and where he likes to dart in and strike down his enemies from afar, she likes to punch. I just recently made her in Destiny because the character creation doesn't really match how I see her, hence why she's got Arc on here
Tumblr media
(closer to her actual face minus the blue eyes; this is a very old bloodborne pic)
Tumblr media
Unlike her half-brother, Marcie is a full human, and- according to the diary she rezzed with- was objectively her father's favorite, though the feeling was not mutual, and their relationship was strained by her taking so kindly to the bastard son he tried to send away. Compared to Aeris, she's bright, bubbly, and outgoing, but has a fierce temper, and is quick to snap if something has pushed her too far-think a jack russel's terrier of a human being. Her ghost's name is Solaris (previously Quicksilver), and she prefers the Light and Solar by far. Her preferred method of combat is to hit first, ask questions later, which can be incredibly effective or incredibly dangerous depending on who's on the opposite end of her wrath. Her and Aeris share many quests together, with me typically attributing all the seasons that I didn’t play to Marcie, given that I didn’t make a Destiny character for her for the longest time.
She was best friends with Cayde, and was so devastated by his death that Aeris had to go instead, as she would have killed anything and everything in vengeance without a second thought. She did, however, kill Riven- something that Aeris himself was somewhat reluctant to do,given his fascination with the Ahamkara. She's stubborn as a mule, surprisingly strong despite her small stature (well, small-ish), and is an absolute massive lesbian, with her type specifically being 'big strong ladies who can kill me'- which was primarily why she wasn't allowed to fight Eramis, or other big hotties, as she has a pretty hardcore crush on her. (The second reason was that she would have stood and bickered with Eramis about the ethics of what she was doing until either one or the other yielded). Instead, she was assigned to work with Misraaks to evacuate House Light refugees, which ended up being a fortuitous partnership with the coming of the Endless Night. Now, her primary work for the Vanguard consists of aiding Eliksni refugees, along with general alien-human politics and tackling xenophobia, as well as working on being an apprentice Splicer. She is very, VERY passionate about equal rights and will drag you to the Crucible if you fight her- and good fucking luck winning against her, because she fucking loves the Crucible and will beat your ass everytime. She’s somewhat of a local celebrity in that reguard
Her deep fondness for her brother comes primarily from the fact that he is one of the few people to take her seriously without either asking her to calm down or come off as patronizing- he's also a well of stability to her excitable moods, the voice of reason to her hyperempathy. While he keeps her from biting off more than she can chew, she acts as his translator + guide, yanking him back onto the path of sanity if he starts to wander into the Deep, and helping him with dysfunction things that Hoarfrost can’t do. She also enjoys working through the data he collects, even if she has no desire to go searching for it herself, so they make a good pair- even if, like most siblings, they will argue over every little thing and sometimes drive each other up the walls with their stubbornness.
I've already mentioned that she got along with Cayde, but her other friends at the tower are Shaxx, Drifter, Saint-14, and Ada-1. Misraaks is her mentor, as well as one of the few people who can talk her down from stupid shit, with uh…questionable results. And while she couldn't stand the sight of Crow when Aeris dragged him back, she managed to befriend him reguardless, mostly because he was so different from the Uldren she remembered that she couldn’t help but accept him for who he was. She often went out drinking with him and Amanda, and was devastated when she died.
People she likes: Cayde, Shaxx, Drifter, Saint-14, Ada-1, Misraaks, Crow, Amanda (rip), Caiatl
People she dislikes: Uldren Sov, The Osmium Siblings, The Spider, Lakshmi-2, anyone against the Eliksni or people who are rude to Aeris, Calus
Likes: Crucible, Gambit, fucking around with weapons in new and creative ways, going out to drink with friends, playfully flirting, helping with construction work around the Eliksni District, playing around with the Light, moths and other fuzzy creatures
Primary Class (Light): Solar
Primary Class (Dark): Strand
Dislikes: Fighting Eliksni, any exploding enemies that she can’t punch, bows because Aeris will always be better than her at using them, the fact that Aeris fucked Misraaks at one point for science, being alone, her inability to score a girl who isn’t a war criminal
Motif: crimson and gold, bears or lion with eagle wings
Fun fact: Her grasp on Eliksni is actually more fluent than Aeris, and she spends a good deal of her time in the Tower socializing with people while he’s off doing…whatever.
.
Okay, now onto Petrichor-12, who decided to nope out of being a Guardian so I deleted their slot to make Marcie before I really did anything to dazzle them up
Tumblr media
Petrichor-12 is a now-retired guardian that actually came from a dream I had before I even played Destiny. They/them or he/him, neutral good, Void titan, ghost is seldom-speaking and called Whisper. Neutral good. I attribute them with D1 content, so they’re the guardian that killed Crota and Oryx, though Marcie and Aeris were also there to help.
Petrichor is an older, somewhat quiet, melancholy do-gooder that's been haunted by guilt ever since they found out the memories of who they were via the Deep Stone Crypt- a bodyguard for Clovis Bray that was turned to a path of anger, abuse, and violence after agreeing to be tested on for power, and got corrupted by the Darkness. This, paired with being rezzed in the Dark Ages, means that they have a lot of trauma surrounding violence, power, and the dilemma of being made to kill when all you want to do is save people. As such, Eramis's predicament troubles them greatly, and while it was them who gunned her down in conjunction with Aeris, they often found themselves returning to her frozen body on Europa to talk to her (presumed corpse) about Darkness corruption in a sort of venting monologue-advice system, which worked both as a way of fending off their troubles as well as keep an eye on her state- though now that she’s defrosted they’ve vowed never come near her again out of embarrassment.
While retired, they are a stalwart defender of anyone who needs it and a keeper of peace, driven partially by a genuine desire to do good and a need to prove themselves not the person that they used to be. No longer able to mingle with other guardians or humanity at large due to PTSD from what they learned, they live in the Botza district as an ambassador between the Eliksni and humanity, they like to knit + quilt in their free time, teaching whichever hatchlings will listen and getting tutored on weaving by old Wolves in return. They're also 6'3", so…lorge. Zavala and Misraaks are the two people they talk to the most outside of the Eliksni refugees, and they drop by to say hi to Eva and knit with her whenever they have the chance. The war with the Witness is threatning to bring them out of retirement, something that they are deeply unhappy with.
People he likes: Namrask, Misraaks, Saladin, Zavala, Ikora, Osiris (recently), Marcie and Aeris, Saint-14, Eris (complicated)
People they dislike: Themselves, Osiris (formerly), Eramis (reminds them of themselves), Ghaul, Oryx, Xivu Arath, Clovis Bray, anyone who goads them to fight, Elsie and Ana Bray by association, Rasputin
Motif: gold and sapphire blue, used to have a gryphon motif but stopped wearing it because they don’t want to be recognized as the Kingkiller
Likes: Knitting, sewing, weaving, gardening, really anything restorative they can do with their free hands that forces their mind not to wander
Class (Light): Void, sometimes Arc
Class (Dark): no.
Dislikes: War, fighting, being a guardian, everything that has to do with what they used to be, anything Braytech sciences, the cumulative trauma from the Dark Ages and seeing recordings of who they used to be in the Deep Stone Crypt, their own fear of themselves
Fun fact: Petrichor-12 can speak Eliksni fluently, having modulated their voice and hearing to be able to incorporate the subsonic clicks and chirps in their speech, and is now working on learning Ulurant despite not at all liking the Cabal empire
.
Ash: Another dream character of mine, and my newest Guardian (so she’s somewhat of a wip). She/her, solar + void warlock, chaotic neutral to lawful evil depending on her mood. Pansexual but bitchless. Rezzed in the tail end of the Dark Ages, just long enough for her to see how horrible everything was but not long enough to see the true extent of it. Scholar of the Light, and most recently a scholar of the Dark as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ash is a warlock with an awful temper, a moral code that changes on a whim, and a ravenous appetite for knowledge that comes at the cost of everyone else, including herself. Her ghost (an anxious and caring little lass) is called Nutmeg, and is pretty much the only indicator that she has a soft spot. Ash dedicated herself to learning how to get closer to the Light, but unlike the more conventional meditations that people usually do to, she was inspired by ancient Greek priestesses and decided for a more unconventional route- by doing hard drugs. By getting either extremely drunk or very high, she claims that she overcomes the need for meditation (or, rather, bypasses it entirely because she’s too impatient for it) and gains a deeper connection with her powers, as she’s connecting with it instinctually rather than choosing to seek it out. Nutmeg and many others are not as convinced about this method, but they also can’t deny that it doesn’t have its perks, as Ash does have a very powerful connection to her light- mainly through exploding things, or setting everything around her on fire. It’s how she used to survive the Warlords she’d steal from in the Dark Ages, and she’s known specifically for her ability to mimic a nova bomb, but with solar power, which is strong particularly for how unexpected it is.
However, being constantly hungover and harbouring no friends doesn’t exactly have its benefits, and as a result Ash is almost always grumpy, abrasive, quick to anger, quick to turn to cruel jibes and mocking when being defensive (which is often), and is generally awful to be around. She has no friends other than Nutmeg (whose bond has become strained as of late, since Ash is now turning to substance abuse for coping with the impending threat of the Witness rather than simply using it for her studies), her apartment is an uncleaned shithole she only uses for crashing in when she’s particularly out of it, and she's constantly in a state of passive-aggressive warfare with Osiris, as she and him used to occasionally cross paths and share research; they might have had a student-teacher dynamic if they didn’t grate so abrasively, and if Ash wasn’t so much of a lone wolf. He’s tried to whip her into shape a couple of times, but to no avail- they just devolved into shouting matches. Pretty much the only people she listens to are the Drifter and Nutmeg, but whether or not she’ll actually take their advice is a toss-up.
Despite this, she will overall always choose to do what's right and will begrudgingly trudge along with people in random strikes to ensure that important missions get done, as she fears failure more than she does judgment. And yet, to an extent she also fears judgment, for part of the reason why she’s so cruel is to keep people at arm’s length, so as to prevent them from learning her weaknesses- not even her constant complaining about being bitchless will cover up that the core reason why she makes no effort to clean herself up and be nicer is because she fears vulnerability. She’s also brilliant with the Light and cunningly adept with the Dark, which is why the Vanguard continues to ask for her help and expertise.
People she likes: the Drifter, Hawthorne, Nutmeg, Eido, Toland, Shaxx to most everybody’s surprise
People she dislikes: Pretty much the whole Vanguard and 90% of other guardians, Saladin, the Iron Lords, Osiris, Misraaks,
Primary class (Dark): Stasis, wants to learn Strand but has a hard time letting go
Primary class (Light): Solar, Void
Likes: Learning nuances of the Light that others don’t go into detail to, connecting with the Light, growing more powerful and shaping it into new, experimental Supers that would make Zavala have a heart attack if he saw them in action, taking leadership in Strikes and prodding around New Lights to teach them about what it is to be a Guardian (but gently), killing assholes to put them in their place, spooking people
Dislikes: Being told what to do, being reminded that she’s a mess, being reminded that she’s afraid and that her behavior is starting to turn self-detrimental, being looked down on by other Guardians, the restrictive nature of Vanguard protocol that keeps her from playing around with her experimental supers, guardians who have no respect or care about mortal lives, getting kicked from bars for fighting said guardians with no respect or care for mortal lives, being reminded that she has a soft side and cares so much for other people that it scares her
Colours/theme: black, flame-gold, and green
Fun fact: Likes the Hive aesthetic, and knows their tongue just for the hell of it. Has quite a bit of fun tormenting and taunting Hive Lightbearers, loves digging around the Osmium Siblings. Despite this, she’s not passionate about the Hive, and doesn’t care one bit if they’re wiped out or not. She also pretty much never takes off the Stag helm, as dropping a rift on death has saved her ass more than once, and tends to sleep in her robes. It’s a miracle that she doesn’t stink something awful, but smells perpetually like smoke instead.
.
and last but not least: Viper-4, an ex-guardian who I have almost nothing on because he tends to be a side character: he/him, trans exo, primarily black chassis with red markings, not yet settled on alignment. A friend of Aeris, he's an ex-Hunter who is now the primary caretaker for a variety of venomous snakes whose species have survived the Collapse. He collects their venom to try to recreate old Golden-Age medicines and antivenom- which he does with Aeris's help- and had his forearms modded with soft silicone so that the snakes don't hurt him if they bite him. Generally a friendly and chill guy, but has a melancholy air as most Ghostless do, and wants to learn Strand so that he has some modicum of control over the elements again, as his lack of feeling the Light was the hardest part about his Ghost's death. Much like Brya and Sagira, his ghost sacrificed her to save him, but he blames himself for her death and pretty much entirely refuses to talk about it. Used to be quite adept with Void. I note that he's trans here because it carried over into his exo body, as he was raised with synthetic top surgery scars that were then worked into beautiful engravings of flowers, swords, and snakes by Viper-1

Hows Nish n the gang doing in your post mass-ascension off the string au?
there's so many aus by so many people for the canon iterators with this premise that i haven't thought about what would be happening with them in my stuff gjklsdmcksdklg i figured everyone else has it covered enough i guess
HMM... do i have something that would be 100% canon if i ever tried poking the canon Iterators with th- yes Suns is a fucking Dead (sayonara, cunt)
aight joking but their chances of legit survival are pretty low. might actually let them go offline but before that i Would rather like for them and Pebbles to have a conversation. so Pebs can yell at them for being a horrible mentor and sibling cuz i'll never have enough of Pebbles hating on Suns. he is So valid to do that, go child i love you
Nish is going to come out of his stuffy chamber and into Risio and yell into the sky out of pure joy, definitely. then proceed to get snatched by a vulture and next figure out how to get Unsnatched by a vulture very quickly in the midst of shitting himself silly. next thing on his to-do list would be throwing himself into a bog
oh! with Tinktink/Sparrows giving a solid place for the au in the timeline, this would happen before Hunter would be sent out. so Nish would be making that journey *with* his bewoved scug daughter n since he'd be the one carrying the neuron, Hunter might not even end up with the Rot! so Those two are okay, gods bless ough <3
they make their way first to Pebbles n Pebs would be already off his string and probably very much frozen on what to do now, more or less stuck in his chamber still. the father-daughter duo enter, Nish gets to yell at Pebs, Pebs gets to have his well-deserved emotional breakdown, Nish is a good elder brother so he thinks on it a lil n figures that holding onto this bitterness over going over and hugging Pebs is a Grade S bullshit and from there they make their way to Moon
and revive her together
which like... Shit that's gettin me good.. they do it together.....
cue confused to hell and back Moon, grateful Moon, and hugged Moon. both of these two dumbasses would hug her so hard, good stars above
they proceed to figure out how to help her out with her memory problems and how to help her get off her umbilical arm too and for some time they'd be hanging around in the rock siblings' facilities to figure out how to be proficient at surviving (thank you Hunter)
meanwhile Wind is probably stuck admiring her own city (not too eager to go outside into the violent winds) and Innocence is figuring out how to be a proper Australian while hunting shit with her cyan lizard pack. she's havin a blast and when the main trio comes to find her she will have that survival camo markings on her face (mud), torn clothes and going "OOGA BOOGA HOOOOOOO" while waving her spear around
Suns just lying facedown in his chamber that's it. that's all they do. maybe visit Solis and have one fuck of a depression fest before going back to their chamber to lie facedown again

Heyo! Just had a random drabble/idea that I wanted to share with you!
How do you think White, Hunter, and Jay-Jay would deal with their listeners gaining crushes on someone they meet, but they're too nervous/flustered to talk to them?
~♡Yuuri Anon♡~
Ooh, alright.
I'm not 100% sure how to write Hunter just yet but I'll get there.
Gender Neutral! Reader
~ Dari
Tumblr media
Reacting to Reader Having a Crush - Platonic
Jay-Jay + Siren! Reader
he is intensely in tune with your feelings because the connection you both have
so when he sees you all soft and googly eyed, he's a bit confused at first
he's not really completely knowledgeable in the terms of romance but is kind of has a baseline from the few stories he's seen
his other half, the demon is more aware and is willing to explain
... but unlike Jay-Jay, the demon is a little possessive(hah, getit?) protective
there is just a mix of feelings but they keep their eyes on the person you might like
they don't otherwise intervene unless they have a bad feeling about them
he also shares how he feels about the object of your affections
Hunter + Demon! Reader
you’re a soft lil’ demon with a sort of innocence to you
so immediately, he’s concerned because some of the people he associates with... are often less than savory
he’s protective and you aren’t too subtle - neither is he - just sort of... looming behind you as you chatter on with whoever has your current affection
generally, he doesn’t try and be too suffocating despite this
only intervenes if he feels you’re too in over your head
if he feels you and your partner are mature enough to pursue a relationship...
he definitely gives them the shovel talk
... honestly, any partner you might have will likely not be good enough for you in his eyes
White Wolf + Grey Wolf! Reader
he's quite a bit older than you(*cough*dilf*cough*) but not very well versed in romantic relationships, especially as he was living as the "Legendary White Wolf"
but he's not blind, seeing you get all fluttery and nervous around this individual makes him a little skeptical as he didn't know if he should intervene as he was a mentor - not your father
... he decides to only step in if he could see that you could be hurt pursuing this
this has to be in a time where things are solved, otherwise, you definitely wouldn't have time for romance
it's kind funny how clearly protective he is though, he's not hovering or anything - but your keen ears can distinctly hear a growling whenever your romantic interest gets a little touchy
he's not worried for the most part, you are capable of protecting yourself - especially if the person you liked was human
... shovel talk 2.0 but graphically describes what he'd do with his claws and teeth if they hurt you

Sorry, I'm late but here are my thoughts on Watching And Dreaming!
I'm still so shook, like it just hit me that we're never gonna see these magical weirdos again. But no worries, the love for them will still live on here! Again, there's spoilers down here, so beware!
Ofc Belos came up w/the nightmare idea to fuck with Luz, Eda, & King
Glad Luz was able to put two & two together and get the Hexsquad (for the time being), Eda, & King to snap out of it
COLLECTOR YOU SWEET BBY BOI!!! He just wants a friend who gets them; I'm glad that the 3 weirdos got through to them eventually!
Raine being a total badass fighting back Belos with their bard magic! Really wish we got more info on Bard magic, especially since my TOH OC focuses on that brand of magic! 🎻
Also, Collector sweetie, no. Belos doesn't deserve your (or anyone else's) forgiveness!
They're obviously not gonna kill of my girl Luz, I knew that! Feral mode Eda AND King going to avenge her regardless!
The Collector crying and confused over the concept of death, loss & true sadness!!! 😭😭😭
So the Puppet Amity screenshot leak was real!
Luz meeting The Titan in limbo! Love his drip (I want those glyph sweatpants now!)
HE'S BEEN ABLE TO WATCH OVER HIS BOI KING THE WHOLE TIME!!!! 😭
TITAN!LUZ?!?!?! Well, I know now who I'm gonna be for Halloween this year (or for a future cosplay idea). I wish she got to keep that form; mostly cuz I wanted Amity to react to that form! 😍😍😍
The Collector helping the reawakened Hexsquad & Camila to protect the puppeted citizens in The Archives
"EAT THIS SUCKA!!!" My best Jontron impression: "She's in boys, she did it, she said it! *Cue the airhorns*"
Belos using a lame ass excuse of "being cursed with dark magic like your mentor". Bye Felicia, hope you're melting burning in Hell! 😒🖕🏼
"I loaf you!" bread pun from a parent to their son, MY HEART!!! 🥲
Hexsquad & their families reunion
DADRIUS!!! And Hunter showing off his wolf shirt, my child <3
Hooty's sparkly eyed reawakening (wish we got at least one more witty remark from him)
The Collector should've stayed with the gang, especially after what he said about their past w/the other Collectors! I knew King would give him Francois as a parting gift/symbol of their friendship.
The glyphs don't work w/Luz anymore??? I know she still has String Bean, but just how else can she do magic? I guess we'll never know!
Cue the timeskip:
Of course, Luz graduated & is going to a magic university
Vee's new look, super cute as always
HARPY LILITH!!! Wish we got more time w/the look, but oh well! 😍
Bump definitely deserves a break after everything that went down. Eda's definitely a worthy successor as headmaster (love her pirate-like drip)!
Palisman carving Hunter! New blue jay pal Waffles; was hoping for a wolf palisman, but of course, too predictable. Besides, I love me some birdies!
Flyer derby champ Willow, slay queen! 🐝
Amity, Gus, & Raine's new looks are also adorable!
Also, did we ever get a confirmation on the name of Raine's palisman??? I feel like they're a Chauncey to me!
Smol Aladarius moment!
RIP Flapjack, you tiny but mighty hero! I also want that birdie tattoo on my wrist (maybe for my birthday, I'll see) 🐦
Luz having a surprise 18th birthday/belated King-Ceañera w/everyone in the Boiling Isles! Just like we wanted!!! 👏🏼
One last "BAIIIII!!!!" from everyone! 👋🏼
And that's the end, it's been real! Thanks again to @danaterrace and to all the cast & crew members behind the show.

Also when do they get teleported out of belos' mind cause I assumed that it was when babybel was summoning the palisman souls, when Luz grabbed him she just didn't let go so she and Hunter scream for Eda to take them out and luckily she could but Luz didn't let go of babybel when grabbing Hunter so now Hunter knows the truth (probably still going to have his panic attack sadly :( ), but Luz realizes that she also brought the 'kid' with her. Now to think about it wouldn't babybel kinda be out of it for a while, since the form came from the dream realm so his body is literally trying to exist.
this is one of the questions i am trying to answer for myself! because when they get taken out really changes some things - well, mostly it changes what i think Hunter's attitude towards Babybel and the whole situation is.
so i'm considering it in terms of those three memories - the staged 'wild witch' attack, the first attempt at coven sigils, and the Collector conversation post-Eclipse Lake.
they should definitely, i think, see at least the first one. i want Hunter's perception of Belos to be shaken for sure, and for him to be confused and uneasy about the previous Golden Guard(s). he knows he isn't the first, but they didn't just have the same rank - they sounded exactly like him! and he clearly noticed.
the more i think about it, the more i feel like my sweet spot here is after the coven sigil attempt memory?
it gives Luz enough info that Owl Team more or less knows what Belos is planning (genocide) although she doesn't have the context of why (witch hunter), and it's something that Hunter can't actually excuse - he was trying, but in the end the best he could do was 'well maybe i'm completely wrong about everything i know to be true', which is not solid grounds for long-term denial.
so Luz has her confirmation of Belos's plans that she can tell Eda and Lilith, while still leaving room for her to realize/find out that Babybel is a human and therefore Philip in the way i outlined in this post
and Hunter also has all of these doubts and fears - suddenly Belos isn't the harsh-but-fair benevolent Emperor who is leading the Boiling Isles into a utopia, but a liar and a manipulator who's been hurting and killing people for a very long time and is clearly trying to do it on a mass scale.
Hunter can say he was 'just perfecting sigil magic' (he's not even wrong!) but they both heard Belos say those witches still being alive meant he had more work to do. and there was that Guard - same voice, slightly different clothes, but we don't know how much time passed between those memories, so it could still be the same guy under the mask.
but there's that seed of doubt there too, that little nagging sense of existential horror. who is that? is that his uncle's brother - his own father? a son he never knew Belos had? is that the same Guard who was Darius's mentor? how many of them have there been? what happened to them? who were they?
so i think cutting it off there, between that one and the scene with the Collector, puts Hunter in an interesting place. his faith in Belos has been badly bruised and his sense of self and purpose suddenly taken away. he can't deny that whatever Belos is planning, it's bad, or that he's been complicit in it. he can't deny that Belos has been lying to everyone, including him, for a very long time. and he doesn't know what's up with those other Golden Guards, but there isn't a non-horrifying answer, really.
however, his perception of Belos hasn't been completely shattered, nor has it been revealed to him that he's just the latest in a long line of murdered clones. he doesn't know that the 'Titan's plans' for him are just a lie Belos uses to make him easier to manipulate.
he knows he's seen things he wasn't supposed to see, but he's still loyal. he doesn't know that previous Golden Guards have been killed for 'betraying' Belos. he doesn't know that he's just a replaceable object to Belos. he's hurt and betrayed and scared and confused, he isn't sure what his place is anymore, he isn't sure if he can or wants to go back to the castle, he doesn't want to help Belos bring about the Day of Unity anymore, and the residents of the Owl House definitely aren't going to let him take Babybel back
but i think that because those crucial revelations have been withheld from him, it means that he might fall back on his position as his uncle's caretaker when he's faced with Babybel. with almost everything he thought he knew turned on its head, he might cling onto what feels familiar.
his relationship with his uncle has been forever changed, but by taking care of Babybel the way he used to take care of Emperor Belos, he can still have some vestige of a relationship - a simpler one, even, where he doesn't have to fear being hurt, where he can care for and love this man who he's spent his life serving without suffering for it.
which also sets him up for Babybel to be able to try to manipulate him into helping him back to the castle and into his adult body. normally he would get rid of Hunter after what Hunter saw and just make another one, but he really doesn't have time, and right now he can't give up such a powerful ally
(of course, he'll have to play his cards right - Hunter doesn't trust the real him anymore, and similarly to Luz, sees his child self as kind of a do-over. he can't just reveal it right away, but he's going to have to manage Hunter's wounded expectations and sense of betrayal from being strung along and lied to when he does, so he's going to need to have Hunter wrapped very firmly back around his nasty little fingers, or else find some way of convincing Hunter to take him back to the castle without actually revealing that he's For Real Belos)
it seems like Hunter really wants to find a way to be loyal, so who is Belos to deny him that? at the very least, he can try to play on Hunter's loyalty and love for him to get back to the castle so he can continue with his plan, and then figure out what to do with Hunter from there. maybe this one is salvageable. maybe this one will finally turn out right. maybe this one is the version of Caleb who loves him more than anything else.

V - 3 OTPs from 3 different fandoms
W - 5 favorite ships and 5 kinks you like best for said ships
X - top 5-10 characters who are yoUR PRECIOUS BABIES AND YOU WILL DIE DEFENDING THEM
Many thanks! I will enjoy most of these XD
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will (be nice) I'm just not a fan of Jack and Ashi. I was super hoping for a mentor/mentee dynamic and not a ship. Do I get why it happened and does it make sense that Jack fell for her? Yeah, but also I'm 100% busy shipping some bots.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t (again: be nice) For a fandom I'm not in: Soljiwan from Nevertheless. Sorry @nothing-of-a-builder! I wanted to be into it to read your fanfics because I know they're good, but I'm just not feeling it. Hit me up with Kirisaya though! Check out all the fics here (including some Franmouche content that stabs me in the heart every time I read it) For a fandom I am in: Probably Scaramouche and Demongo. I love Scaramouche and I'll take whatever fanart/fanfics exist of him with whoever, but this just isn't my ship.
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves (chars you’re neutral on are fair game, as are chars you dislike) Can I go with Vile (Megaman X) on this? Maybe it's sort of cheating by assuming people think I like him a lot more than I do. I don't really care for him and he's annoying and definitely didn't enjoy listening to him in Maverick Hunter X BUT I love what he represents, and that's not being on either side, which was especially well done in Maverick Hunter X. It's funny because I did cosplay as him and it's one of my better costumes, but it's honestly because I went to a foam armor making class for beginners and we made a helmet that suited him so perfectly. I don't think he would have been an option otherwise. Long story short, I like Vile as a concept, not a character.
Q - A ship you’ve abandoned and why Sorry, calling out Scaramouche and Demongo again (which I want to say the ship name for is Fandango, not to be confused with the OC character Fandango XD). I wrote a fanfic for it (and also, sorry everyone, 'tis my least favorite fic I wrote with Scaramouche) and consumed all the content, but after I was blessed/cursed with Franmouche, that was it. This is the ship!
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything) You will see a theme later but I'm too tired to want to defend fandom stuff that hard, especially since this is headcanons ask. I will say I love writing Francis as a demiromantic, sex-neutral ace. Love seeing him other ways, too, but this is the primary way I write him.
U - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms Francis the Mercenary - Samurai Jack (honorable mention to Scaramouche, always), Boomer Kuwanger - Megaman X, Mr. Freeze - Batman, Maximillion Pegasus - YuGiOh, N. Gin - Crash Bandicoot
V - 3 OTPs from 3 different fandoms Franmouche (Scaramouche x Francis) - Samurai Jack; Mr. Freeze x Nora - Batman, N. Gin x N. Brio - Crash Bandicoot.
W - 5 favorite ships and 5 kinks you like best for said ships Franmouche - massage, hurt/comfort; Scaramouche x Fandango - interfacing while linked; Gal x Jared - mutual masturbation, voyeurism/exhibitionism; Fandango x Ginkgo - aftercare, cuddling, hurt/comfort, the finance pillow talk; Riddler x Devin (OC) - praise, pampering, katoptronphilia
X - top 5-10 characters who are yoUR PRECIOUS BABIES AND YOU WILL DIE DEFENDING THEM Immediately, I am rebelling because I've killed my favorites at least once, I'LL DO IT AGAIN! In seriousness though, I suppose if I read this in "I'm taking them away from you and you have to fight to keep enjoying them" then definitely: Francis, Scaramouche, Mr. Freeze, N. Gin, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Scooby-Doo, Freddy Krueger, Maximillion Pegasus, Joltik, Boomer Kuwanger.

Hi! I need some help and you seem more like a suitable option to ask for advice. I have an AU. Long story short, it's about 2D/sometimes 3D characters being brought to life through a series of magic, making a deal with an Entity, and science, a machine. However, humans got greedy about it and the Entity punished the humans by wiping all characters memories and making them incredible sick with an illness that can/will kill them. A couple of characters end up selling their soul to the Entity in exchange for their loved one to be cured of the illness, becoming bounty hunters that work for them (Collecting souls). Because of this, they no longer need to take the medicine that's suppressing their memory, forced on them by the government. Leaving them to remember their past canon. Anyway, Izuku becomes a bounty hunter for All Might, because of course he does. When he starts remembering who he really is and his memories, I don't know how I should have him react to Bakugo. Like should I have him be the same way he is in canon or should have him go "Wow, you're kind of a dick." for once? There are many factors to take into an account. An example would be his assigned mentor training him is Shura from Blue Exorcist. Anyway, I'm wondering what your input is and I'm at loss. However, I understand completely if this is too much or confusing for you to follow.
I think I’ve processed this well enough to give an answer. First off, I think this is a really creative fic idea. Would love to see what you do with it. I definitely feel Izuku recognizing Katsuki as being an ass is a great thing to have in the story as it’ll showcase his growth from being a blind follower. You can set up a Katsuki redemption story too, with Izuku giving him “the reason you suck speech” and him actually taking the time to recognize that he was indeed a giant asshole.

OC list.
This was once on my sidebar but editing it from there is a pain, so I'm going to see if I can pin this on my regular journal instead.
Linking to the tag for their screenshots (if they exist) on my gaming screenshot blog, or to any art I’ve done/had done of them.
In progress because I'm moving it and updating links, disambiguating the few characters who have similar names across fandoms, et cetera.
Fandoms: FFXIV (once I add them,) SWTOR, Fallen London, City of Heroes.
Permissions:
SFW art/headcanons - OK NSFW art/headcanons - Ask me first Fic/RP/interactions with other OCs - Ask me first
FFXIV
Baroouse Ironeye: Male Sea Wolf WoL, large friendly man who's really good at hugs and punching things, but not at the same time. Poly and aromantic, very close to lots of people. (Short list: Ran'aa Mihgo, Leih Ariapoh, Ysayle, Haurchefant, Cirina, Hien... I'll make a long list later.)
Quizzie Slagheart: Female Highlander WoL, a short pirate with a minor chip on her shoulder and a big heart. Has a soft spot for Ishgard thanks to a man who took care of her after she and her father fell out. Very close to her fellow Scions.
Mirek Ajerenii: Male Helion WoL who escaped the fall of Bozja because his mother saw trouble starting and sent him away with his Lost uncle. Generally very confused; things go over his head a lot. Still figuring out his relationships (he's probably bi, I'm fairly sure he misses a lot of advances because he just doesn't understand social cues, but he definitely had a fling with G'raha Tia and another with Jannequinard de Durendaire.)
SWTOR - Republic - Ge-ming: Sith Pureblood, exiled Sith heir turned Jedi knight. SF - Captain Zvedza: Twi'lek, smuggler and pilot, has taken over her mentor’s Republic business while he tries to diversify. SF
SWTOR - Empire - Lord Fupan: Zabrak, Lord of the Sith, Marauder, hunter of traitors and generally not great at this Sith thing. SF - Darth Molutsk: Sith Pureblood, Lord of the Sith, Expansion and Diplomacy (but mostly Expansion,) old gay ritualist and loving dad. SF - Bexamushu: Rattattaki, Sith apprentice and scientist, head of research for the Expansion Institute. SF - Drogo Rist: Human, Former Alderaanian statesman in self-imposed exile, Lieutenant in the Imperial Navy. SF - Jonna Wolfe: Human/Cyborg, Defected Republic Spec Ops operative, current Imperial Specialist. Doesn’t like relationships but loved her parents and siblings/nieces/nephews, to the point that she defected after they were killed by Republic inaction. SF - Ja'ghar: Chiss, Ascendency-born and exiled at a young age, eventually adopted into Clan Kelborn. SF - Fixer 42 AKA Baroouse: Mirialan, former Fixer for Imperial Intelligence who got brainwashed by a Sith. The brainwashing failed thanks to a convenient shipwreck. Has reached a point where he has two fairly stable personalities that are aware of each other - one his fixer personality and another a "civilian" personality who's basically a handyman.
SWTOR - Cross-faction/Underworld - Captain Lay'zor: Human. Ace pilot (in several respects,) smuggler and underworld boss. SS/SF - Koushonbe Phopee: Nautolan. Skilled mechanic and quick fighter who can't seem to sit still. SF - Hargath Desop: Mirialan. Adoptive father of Phopee and skilled doctor, he is hiding from a dark past that took the lives of his family and his husband. SF.
Fallen London - The Pliable Operative: Profile. A Rubbery Man and former companion of Markov (see below.) After Markov's disappearance under mysterious circumstances, they were dreadfully worried about their good friend and decided that they were going to do what they could to search for them, and to that end worked to integrate themselves into the Great Game. Despite the prejudice against them as a Rubbery Man, they are doing surprisingly well. - Lt. Bogdan Leonidovitch Markov: Profile. Little is known about him so far, save that he was certainly some sort of officer in the Russian Imperial Army, and that he came to London to keep a promise to one of his superiors. Has a long-standing fear of falling upwards into the sky, which is partially why he gets along so well in the Neath. A generally decent sort who believes in helping the common man and shows kindness to the marginalized - the Rubbery Men, the Urchins, the Clay Men - whenever he can. - Nikole Dupuis: Profile. A dangerous lady and former privateer, who came down to the Neath to avenge her brother. In doing so she lost her soul and, for a while, her reason for living - but she has found another, with her new dedication to the anarchist cause.
City of Heroes
Ranger Bruno Jones: Old man whose powers manifested late in life. Lived most of his life as a park ranger, but gained the power to speak to and command both plants and animals, as well as becoming very large and strong and near-indestructible. This happened after he retired and years after his wife had died, and he decided to embrace his powers and become a hero. His adult children are nervous about this, but so far he's doing fairly well.

since I posted a Wayfarer fic earlier, I thought I might as well post my OCs here too! I love my cool girlies 🥰 honestly this game is great for creating characters, and has a great story overall 👀 I definitely recommend it if you haven’t played it! (link to the game)
the picrew I used is this
---
Selene “Sel” Adellan
Tumblr media
Race: Elf
Origin: Child of the Wilds
Gender and pronouns: Non-binary, she/her
Physical appearance: Warm brown skin. Golden eyes. Red wavy hair, shoulder-length that she later cuts short. Taller than average. Has a few non-descript scars from training, and a big one on her chest from the basilisk. Has a raven tattoo and a geometric one.
Mentor: Varyn
Weapon: Whitesting, the Kingkiller
Best stat: Perception
Second best stat: Persuasion
Childhood: As a child of the clan with her parents long dead, Selene's first years of her life were a constant struggle to keep up with everyone else. She didn't truly understand why she couldn't do the things that came so easily to others, and the subtle but constant disappointment in the eyes of the adults around her took its toll. When Cenric arrived the clan gave her over immediately and without consulting her, which left Selene scared, confused, and upset, though she tried not to show it outwardly.
Personality: Selene prefers to observe things silently and unobtrusively, like a hunter stalking its prey. She will take her time and methodically scout an area before heading in, either from stealth or by trying to blend in. However despite all that caution she can also be impulsive, and tends to make snap instinctive decisions, especially when she feels pressed.
She has learned to keep physical altercations as a last resort, both because of Varyn's teachings, and because she's learned the hard way the punishment and risk that come with failed attempts at fighting. She's intimately familiar with the bitter taste of disappointment that comes with failure… but nevertheless she's stubborn enough to refuse to give up. Life has been unkind to her, and at her lowest she comes off as angry, bitter, and sullen, but she's still willing to try and make the best of things. Varyn's training and love helped calm Selene down, and when she's feeling overwhelmed she thinks of her teacher and tries to emulate her.
Choices: Despite bungling her confrontation with Kane and ending up with an injury, her intuition leads her to the chalice. She convinces Marea to give it over with some Tough Truth arguments, but then abruptly decides that she wants to give the chalice to Hera. She doubles down on her decision and keeps gambling with lies that she doesn't have it… but the Count sees through her. She blacks out during the fight with the basilisk.
Because the pact with Lethalis was forged without her knowledge or consent, she feels resentful over it and her helplessness. She’s cold, if outwardly polite, to Zenaida, but has no particular investment in her or her plans. As far as Selene is concerned, all that matters is one Order achieving mastery over the others to end the risk of civil war, and it doesn’t have to be Lethalis in particular.
Which means she has no particular reason to antagonise Quirinus, and his clear competence and cleverness makes her more inclined to bet on him. She finds herself drawn into conversation with him despite her usually quiet tendencies, and is intrigued by his ideas. When he asks her if she would use magic if she could, she says yes.
At the gala she blends in well thanks to her training from Varyn, but she keeps her Wayfarer pendant (a decision she regrets after her argument with Aeran). She talks to Allegra and gets information from her, and also agrees to convey Quirinus’ message to Lethalis. At the end the Lethalis council votes to give up on the Astrial mission.
[Episode 3 placeholder]
Relationships: While strictly platonic, her relationship with Aeran is very close and loving. Selene thinks of him as her family, and has an instinctive and unthinking closeness and trust for him. She doesn’t like being touched in general, but feels comfortable enough with Aeran for many casual platonic touches, and they make a seamless team in battle. She’s patient with him, and plays the good cop to his bad cop routine.
Which is why their argument in Episode 2 cuts her deeply. Aeran’s barbed comments hit all her insecurities, and she’s shocked by his vitriol. She transforms that hurt into anger, and by the time the argument is over so is their friendship. 😭
At the end of the night she goes to Melchior, and to her surprise actually enjoys herself. Selene sleeps with him, and while at the moment it’s just about a physical release of tension, she’s not uninterested in a romance, in theory.

Magda “Maggie” Sero (formelly Mollen)
Tumblr media
Race: Human
Origin: Child of the Sea
Gender and pronouns: Female, she/her
Physical appearance: Olive skin-tone with freckles. Black eyes. Long brown hair, curly. Slightly shorter than average. Has a sea creature tattoo and a Wayfarer one. No scars.
Mentor: Sero
Weapon: Krakenkiller, the Beast Slayer
Best stat: Agility
Second best stat: Persuasion
Childhood: If there’s something Magda hates it’s being overlooked, so she was a VERY loud VERY rebellious child. She genuinely enjoyed all the travelling she got to do, and was very adventurous and bold. While she led a privileged life and didn’t have much to complain about other than her lack of magic, once Cenric found her she leapt at the chance to join him. She viewed the Wayfarers as cool heroes, kinda like pirates but better, and she pestered her family to let her go with him (not that they needed much encouragement).
Personality: Confident, brash, and charismatic, she has both the skills and the luck to justify her arrogance. She likes to take charge and be decisive, and enjoys the physicality of fights and the exhilaration of adrenaline pumping in her veins. She tends to take risks that she refuses to acknowledge as actual risks, and once she decides on a course of action she is too stubborn to listen to other people’s advice. This made her butt heads with Sero a lot, but at the same time she made it no secret that she admires and loves them. As far as Magda is concerned Sero can do no wrong, and any accusations of similarity between the two of them are a downright compliment.
Choices: Magda found Zenaida’s ship from the very beginning, and accepted her offer on the spot. When the Count confronted her and Aeran she stepped up and challenged him to a duel, which she won.
She considers Zenaida her close ally, has no complaints about Lethalis and is happy to be loyal to them. At the gala she blends in seamlessly, and refuses Lady Anaxas’ proposal on principle alone. At the end of the night the council votes to continue on with the mission.
[Episode 3 placeholder]
Relationships: Magda has romantic feelings for Aeran as well as a strong relationship with him, and likes to exchange playful flirty banter with him. However the way she jumps into things headfirst without consulting him first—or at all—bothers him, and she tends to push him too much for answers when he’d rather have some space.
She feels frustrated by Aeran’s “sullenness” during their Velantis stay, and doesn’t understand why he refuses see all the good things happening to them and how well her plan is working. After their argument she flounces off in anger and spends the night with Veyer, both as a fuck-you to Aeran and because Veyer is someone who clearly knows how to have some fun, finally!
---
Ava Liranis
Tumblr media
Race: Half-Aeda
Origin: Child of the Desert
Gender and pronouns: Female, she/her
Physical appearance: Pale white skin. Topaz eyes. Waist-length straight hair, topaz. Very tall. Her crest is a group of isometric lines in ruby. Has a scar over her eye from a fight. Has a geometric tattoo.
Mentor: Cenric
Weapon: Starsong (she didn’t look into her blade’s past and didn’t name it)
Best stat: Strength
Second best stat: Agility
Childhood: Used to discipline and a warrior’s life, Ava tried to overcome her lack of magic by honing her physical body to the best of her abilities. When Cenric found her both she and her parents discussed things, and decided together that becoming a Wayfarer was the best course of action for her. She left on cordial terms, but none of them expect to ever meet each other again.
Personality: Blunt and with a no-nonsense attitude, Ava’s preferred method of dealing with things is as directly as possible. She’s aware of the effect her obviously strong body has on others, and is not afraid to lean into intimidation, especially since she lacks the patience—and inclination—for the diplomatic approach. She prides herself on her martial prowess, and is confident in battle while still being sensible enough not to start fights she cannot win. After all Cenric taught her practicality among everything else, and Ava eagerly took all his lessons to heart. To this day Cenric is probably the last person left in her life that she genuinely loves.
Choices: Despite her due diligence to the investigation, she fails to find the chalice and instead fights and kills the mysterious monster. When it comes to dealing with the Count she, Aeran, and Rhodarth fight and defeat the basilisk. However Rhodarth dies to the Count, and Zenaida intervenes and kills the Count herself. Ava still steps up and convinces the Viridian Lady to back down, since their forces are clearly superior.
She had zero desire to join forces with Zenaida, and still feels like she was forced into it. Ava makes it no secret that she’s only going along with the mission for the money, and her relationship with Lethalis is cold.
At the gala she wears her bodyguard uniform and makes no efforts to blend in. She scares the rude noblewoman, and accepts Lady Anaxas’ offer… provided the reward is high enough. Ava also punches Quirinus, has zero regrets about it, and refuses to believe it was a bad idea. At the end of the night Lethalis voted against continuing with the mission.
[Episode 3 placeholder]
Relationships: While she enjoys having a teammate by her side that works so well with her in battle, Ava self-admittedly doesn’t really understand Aeran. She often finds herself feeling impatient with his bad moods, and brushes past his arguments to do things her way.
As a result their partnership doesn’t survive the pressures of Velantis. Their arguments become uglier and uglier shockingly fast, to the point where they actually get physical with each other. Ava also finds the letters Aeran was hiding, and they end Episode 2 as enemies. She feels bad over it… but not that bad.
Ava has no romantic or sexual interest in people, and ends the night alone.
