Genshin things that I will ignore in canon:
Diluc and Kaeya exchanging letters to each other during his 3-4 year revenge quest
Kid Kaeya was a perfect angel who never did anything wrong
Adult Kaeya is a perfect angel who never did anything wrong
(Let the man be morally dubious that’s when he’s most interesting. Plus his recent characterization is inconsistent with his earlier one and his bio lore)
Yae Miko tormenting every single Inazuma guy character (her silly rivalry with Itto can stay it’s funny)
60% of the Venti alcohol jokes (they aren’t funny most of the time. The only time it’s funny is times like when Beidou wouldn’t let Venti and Kazuha drink despite them both being of legal drinking age)
Paimon being the travelers voice (I’m in the minority where I like Paimon as I feel she’s the travelers annoying little sister and with that in mind she’s written rather well but I do agree with everyone who’s annoyed with how she speaks for the traveler. While I’ve never published any fanfics in a lot of my ideas Paimon ends up getting a bit shafted due to me not really knowing what to do with her because outside of being the travelers voice she doesn’t do all that much.)
Most of the Inazuma main story (if I want to I can be willfully ignorant and enjoy the story but after reading gold-rhine’s Inazuma re-write I can never go back)
The traveler being a jerk to Furina at the beginning of her story quest. (In character for Paimon but the traveler I think would at least be a little more understanding and would try to get Paimon to stop guilt tripping her)
Finally, the traveler fails to get Charlotte any scoops from the fortress of meropide. (I know why but they did waste a bunch of her money and that feels mean)

Ooc // pre-tumblr, I actually had multiple stories! Not listed chronologically.
Anti-government multiverse theory story about four queer teenagers with various powers and their maze headquarters
An AU (???) of above story where two of the teenagers fall in love in, like, the most fanfic-tropey way possible (Some tropes include: Meeting in a coffee shop (one working there, the other being a sleep-starved college student), fake dating (for a ball), one of them Getting Sick and the other helping, one teaching the other how to do their version of art, etc.)
A story where a guy and girl fall in love but oops girl has Deadly Flower Disease (not the hanahaki thing) and dies before he can tell her he loves her
Very happy-go-lucky girl manages to have a (female) demon fall in love with her and have said demon banished from hell for falling in love with a human
Above story having demons be dead children?? Specifically this demon being a “demon of regret”, where a miscarried (/aborted? I’m not sure past me knew what abortion WAS) child was a “child of regret” and having a different look to other demons
Two magic twins, the god of magical knowledge and the goddess of magical energy. One cannot exist without the other, and with either gone, magic will be undone completely
Said two magic twins falling in love with two different characters: the goddess falling for a necromancer/bard combo, and the god falling for a prince, that, due to a controlling mother figure (not even his real mother, son of two women but kidnapped as a baby), could not speak “the common tongue”, and could only speak in an ancient language
A story where you (aka y/n) were roommates with a persona at the time, who had magical powers similar to error sans (I was an undertale fan pre-tumblr), but was corrupted by Shadow Magic Creecher and eventually succumbs to her corruption (this one I can talk about for AGES it was so fleshed out)
Different anti-government story about a teenager with powers finding out they’re destined to die and make the afterlife better for everyone, with more like, fluff in-between their plot points (Their villainous mentor figure finding love in a past rival and their sister figure fucking killing a guy out of revenge for her sister). This one is the most recent, and I can still probably make something out of this
Vague fairy species, positivity, negativity, and Bambi, one dying quickly, one living a human lifespan, and one who’s actively poached and hunted
And more!
Honestly, I can look through the old notebooks I had in 2021 and vaguely give you a description of Every Story I Ever Thought Up

aww, man, i'm hella bummed over the news of ofmd.
i wasn't even jonesing that hard for s3 — like i'd of course watch it when it came out, but s2 reiterated and reenforced for me why i'll always choose fandom and fanworks over canon — but i feel gutted for the writers and actors. i feel grieved and jaded. and i feel aggravated that it is a familiar, well-worn groove of jaded grief over how queer stories and stories centred on non-white cis characters with diverse casts don't get their chance to flourish and grow. they don't feed the capitalist beast, even though they absolutely fckin do you're just dumb media executives. those stories are not as easy to market; not the sure, quick buck. not the stories for 18 – 25 year old straight white boys you can peddle to advertisers and that look good in quarterly-projection presentations.
i'm sad because the cast really seemed to get on. really seemed to have one of those rare mixes of chemistry and off-screen friendship. and i want to see them hang out and be creative together and fall further in love with now they portray found family on screen with so much ease and sincerity and full of genuine joy.
i'll miss them. i'll miss watching them play their characters. they seem to love them as much as and for the same reasons that we love those characters.
and to a lesser extent i'm a little disappointed to never find out what the plan would've been for s3, where djenks originally had the characters end up, how and if the creative decisions in s2 would've been addressed. fandom will of course find answers to this, and i know i'll probably think those stories are better if i could compare because i always do, but there's still a part of me that wants to know what djenks and the writing team and the cast would've done.
that all said, a part of me finds it extremely awkwardly morbidly hilarious that the s2 ending is now the official end. the ending that i can only read as a fascinating-yet-distressing lovecraftian horror story waiting to happen. like, not great as a final note due to how much it upset and divided the fandom. i wish it had been an ending that sparked opportunities for community-building and excitement and creativity that comes from a place of wanting more rather than feelings of betrayal or discomfort or creativity that comes from the need to process or to fix or to ignore.
but also as someone who enjoys absurdist dark humour, it's kind of perfect to me. the ending is an amazing (accidental) representation of schrödinger's cat of a conclusion. and i love it.
like, you can read the ending as happy. the main couple is together; the crew has their freedom and found family and can continue a life of adventure without the drama ed or stede can cause. izzy… whatever, i guess. whatever people who are cool with izzy's fate wanted for him.
or you can read the ending as, like: stede, run! you just shacked up with a known mentally and emotionally unstable guy who just very traumatically (and violently) ended a longterm codependent relationship. with the fresh grave of your boyfriend's ex right out front. because both of them are dudes that literally hoard each other's corpses because the codependence and obsessive possession just runs that deep. and you made these life choices while on an isolated spit of land with no one else around but the sea and a rundown shack whose aesthetics are straight out of a horror film. and that's implied to smell like death in one of your last lines of dialogue ever. nothing good will come of this, my guy.
if you know me, you know which reading i'm taking and running with.

just in case there's ever someone writing with murtagh based on their knowledge of the movie 'eragon', here's a disclaimer:
both have different versions of murtagh. here, murtagh is nothing like the one you know. he descends from aristocracy, he grew up at court, stood at the heart of intrigues and snobby people pleasers, etc. hygiene is written BIG in his schedule. dirt-covered face? no thank you. i get that some of the things were impossible to know for the movie creators but there's also a lot of material they ignored/left out/altered. on purpose? i sure hope so or the situation would be even more grotesque.
under the cut, you can find some details, which might as well be interesting for those wishing to write with him in the future.
murtagh ...
... is not first seen by eragon in duret (where angela is). angela does mention eragon's future meeting with murtagh, though (i believe).
... did in fact see a dragon before. he might not remember morzan's but i am almost 100% convinced that he must have seen shruikan at some point. he technically lived with a dragon. and while he was surprised to see saphira take off, it might be simply for the reason that he had just never seen a dragon take flight so close before. shruikan is massive in size, bigger than the movie showed. hard to miss, you know? however, hardly seen flying around.
... wouldn't have held zar'roc with amusement and gawk at it (in case you've seen the deleted scene where he takes the sword while eragon is sleeping). trust me.
... did not shrug it off and was like 'alright gang, let's go to the vardens.' in the first instance it was mentioned. murtagh initially wanted to leave eragon once they were close to the vardens. well aware that the whole depth of his true identity is likely to be revealed there and he'll risk being dragged back to galbatorix which unfortunately does happen in the end.
... doesn't know the location of the vardens, he's not one of alagaësia's tour guides ready at your service. not long ago he pretty much spent every of his living seconds behind the walls of galbatorix' estate, not allowed to leave. how is he supposed to know about the varden's exact location? an alliance opposing the king.
... was there when brom died (who did not get wounded by the shade in gil'ead btw, which is also a city, and not the fantasy version of alcatraz). murtagh came to the camp while brom was still there at the brim of death ─ and assisted in tending to brom's wounds.
... helped saphira rescue arya AND ERAGON (after brom's passing), who were both held captive in gil'ead. arya stays in a self-induced coma from the moment they escape until they reach the vardens and neither eragon nor murtagh know she's an elven princess. she first mentions this in the second book!
... shot that arrow into durza's head, he hit the shade's shoulder then landed an arrow between his eyes. eragon didn't do that. brom can't tell them they need to pierce his heart, since he's already dead by the time.
... carries a physical scar. a reminder of his father striking him with zar'roc, it stretches along the ENTIRETY of his back, and it's not just a small curve over his hip bone (as is shown in the movie). the few people who get to see it are usually taken aback by how gruesome it looks.
extra info dump:
despite of what the movie suggests thorn will not die by default if murtagh were to die before him. yes, most of the dragons die shortly after but it's due to the emotional and mental repercussions their rider's death causes. losing their rider can drive them into madness and they may act in a haphazard manner, meaning their own actions would lead to their death. like achilles being so blinded by the thought and urge for revenge that it eventually kills him because he's defeated as a consequence of his recklessness. there are records and sightings of riderless dragons. galbatorix current dragon is such an example. shruikan is not the one that hatched for galbatorix.
dragon and rider are equal. the way eragon speaks to saphira in the movie commanding her to do this and that does not work! murtagh can't tell thorn what to do, and neither can thorn force actions on murtagh. the rider is not above the dragon. so don't go complaining to murtagh when thorn's being mean to you.
