besides you disliking chad all your opinions are A1
I've found that while thinking about how to answer this a lot of my opinions on the AKs may seem negative but I think it's because the Vks were the main characters so they didn't give them any thought to be fleshed out. One word I've thought about multiple characters is shallow and I'm realizing it was just the poor writing because they'll justify, humanize and explain horrible actions the Vks did but made the Aks all completely shallow so that's something to keep in mind.
Chad- I don't actually dislike Chad with a burning passion or anything. He was a handsome teenage boy who knew it and used it to his advantage and I don't see him as a villain within in the whole him and Evie thing, her intentions weren't pure either yet, he takes the brute. Then in D2 and 3 I just kind of felt sorry for him because he was used as comedic relief with no real background anymore.
Doug- Overly hated in my opinion, he was a simple guy, people do way too much about him being quote on quote stalker. I don't care about him and I think he's boring but overall he's the character that made me realize that Aks are held to this unreachable standard while Vks are given grace for everything in the fandom. I've seen people call him abusive because he pretended not to wake up after Evie kissed him it's ridiculous.
Jane- Shallow and insecure. My unpopular opinion about her stands, she got off easy compared to Audrey and would've ditched any of her friends for the winning team. In hindsight that's not the worst thing an insecure teenage girl can do, of course she wants to be popular. My problem was Audrey was villainized and isolated and blamed for actions Jane took part in and Jane pretty much felt no remorse on seeing her old friend fade.
Lonnie- Same thing shallow and wished they didn't make her do certain things. She was happy and supportive seeing Audrey get publicly dumped just because Mal fixed her bob. Then when Uma did the same thing ditched Ben who she knew way longer than Mal in favor of Mal just because he brought another girl after Mal broke up with him. Her D2 plot was stupid, she was way more pissed about a school sport than her friend being kidnapped.
Audrey- My second favorite character out of the whole series, she was treated poorly and deserved better. While saying that I can acknowledge all of her wrong doings and how the plot could've been different had she taken a different path in D3 than trying to destroy Auradon. But she was never a villain, she never bullied the Vks and she did her job like she was supposed to and got her life ruined and was kicked while she was down by her own family. I wish she was the main character and we got to see a good story play out for her after being mistreated so.
Ben- my ultimate favorite Descendants character. I like Ben because he's everything I'm not basically. He annoys me as a figure of authority because his kind nature quickly becomes a weakness and makes him look like he has no backbone but he's Ben so I can forgive him. He had potential to be a good King but ultimately he was not a good King to me looking back. His willingness to forgive others, think of others was commendable and he made his mistakes but ultimately when I see Ben I see a respectable person but not king. He would be a friend to rival all others but if anybody advocated for his King status to be postponed or removed I'd be the first to agree.

[SPOILER ALERT!!!] Can you elaborate a bit on what paths for Oscar you'd feel could be more compelling than others? I know it's a huge question... But I take that you're also a bit surprised by the writing decision to make him value his life less, at least for now. We already know *stuff* about where his story will lead, but not every detail. I just really hope his bad financial decisions leading to the family bankcrupty or whatever are laid out in a way that he's not the complete villain by the end of all, just the little adhd dumb fuck crypto guy that he is... Not kicking Agnes out of her house or whatever. I just don't want him to be that evil in the end. I suspect Maud will play into this somehow, but no idea how yet.
thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu for this ask
spoilers continue below!
frankly - i am not necessarily surprised at Where we are. what i am surprised about is how soon we got here. like i was hoping we would get unraveling derailed unmoored pathetic sopping wet cat oscar someday and thinking that was probably going to be a season 3 thing if we got a season 3, and instead they put it in front of us right out of the gate! so pretty much everything i have been thinking about for the last year and a half has had to shuffle around a bit.
little adhd dumb fuck crypto guy <3 god he's so unwell. i'm so obsessed with him! what a creature.
i certainly don't want them to kill him off & i don't want him to be turned into a one dimensional villain, but i don't think we're at risk of either of those occurring in season 2 based on review spoilers.
his ego & hubris & recklessness & what-have-you have been brought up in reviews that mention the financial issues, which tracks perfectly well for oscar i think - with the caveat that before 2.01, i would only have pictured oscar making decisions that would potentially affect his family if he were very secure in them and manifesting his own reality about it, and after 2.01, i think him just being desperate is also a possibility. it is a pretty big deal to put his entire family fortune at risk & he seemed levelheaded enough not to go down that road in s1, in the circumstances he was in.
i don't think that's the case anymore. so i think where i see us most realistically going is either,
oscar Is secure in the decisions he is making and thinks he's doing the right thing. he's engaged to an heiress so he's basically married to an heiress so he actually doesn't need to worry about anything at all now? & then through this makes some bad and overconfident decisions and/or draws attention to himself in a way that makes him more likely to be taken advantage of while overconfident about it
oscar is not showing his best judgment of others' intentions in season 2 and he wasn't there in season 1 either.
OR, oscar is not secure in the decisions he is making, and they are a shot in the dark to get him what he wants during a downward spiral.
i think either option could be done well and i'm not sure if i'm partial to one over the other. like you, i am not partial to him doing anything expressly out of malice or malcontent, but i think/hope that's fairly unlikely based on what we've seen from him so far... oscar hasn't shown any malice yet (being mean to be funny is different from being malicious.) & is very self-centered.
it's been effectively (albeit not beyond a shadow of a doubt) confirmed that oscar is getting engaged, so i personally am leaning toward more, something goes right for oscar and he decides everything is perfect now oops poor judgment, than, oscar shows increasing desperation and despair and oops poor judgment. adhd indeed!
but. "everything is perfect" tracks with oscar's approach to life in season 1.
unlike in season 1, however, john and oscar are not together, and i do not think john and oscar are getting back together this season for a variety of reasons i don't want to get into - and so that part of his life is decidedly Not perfect, and he could make all sorts of choices related to this that could begin to seep into his society life, as well.
for example, i'm curious as to what extent oscar's watch is a chekhov's gun, and the way that the circumstances around that scene will continue to be relevant.
i mean, point blank it was 1880s gay bashing. as in, this was a prejudiced act of violence against oscar because he is gay and because he has money, regardless of how premeditated it was against oscar specifically. and i say premeditated because i know people on Other Websites are absolutely getting that idea, and i personally think that is less likely, but regardless of how premeditated it was it was still a hate crime and oscar was targeted because his assailant thought he'd be easy to trick in this specific way.
so i think the beating up part was a given. but at the same time, you do not necessarily need to beat a man up to steal his wallet, especially if you have caught him off guard and he thinks you are going to have sex with him. i personally think oscar would Probably cave to being threatened with violence if he knew the man could follow through on it.
so. if you're a horrible person and you're going to the trouble of beating a man up, for whatever reason, seems kind of silly to take the wallet but leave money on the proverbial table and let the man keep his watch. which could mean the watch is less appealing in one way or another, and not in a straightforward way.
i think the obvious route and the one i imagine most of are thinking about is blackmail - oscar himself is a better source of cash than a stolen watch you might have to wait a while before you can sell.
i will say i do think some people are overestimating the amount of identification a man is carrying in his wallet in 1883, but he would likely have a business card and/or calling card with his name on it and that would be plenty for someone resourceful.
buuuuut the watch could be meaningful in other ways - whether that's a "thank goodness they didn't take my watch" way or something more serious à la the above.
we only have seven episodes left :-( but i'm veryyyy interested to see what happens with all of this.
thank you very much for the question i really appreciate it and enjoyed answering it!

4 for Rietta, 9 for Delclis, 15 for Rachel, and 29 for Elystan, please?
Rietta: 4. What musical theatre ballad fits them?
I think "Don't Rain on My Parade" fits her eagerness for life, resistance to control, and general FOMO.
Don't tell me not to live Just sit and putter Life's candy and the sun's A ball of butter Don't bring around a cloud To rain on my parade
Don't tell me not to fly I've simply got to If someone takes a spill It's me and not you Who told you you're allowed To rain on my parade?
Delclis: 9. Pick a quote from Avatar: The Last Airbender that describes them.
If Delclis were to be anyone from A:TLA, it would be Professor Zei from "The Library": "Now tell me--what was the primary agricultural product of your people? [...] Oh, truly fascinating. That is one for the journal."
Rachel: 15. What superhero are they most like?
Maybe Secret (Greta Hayes). Not a well-known hero...she's a girl with a tragic background and powers that isolate her from society, but she's taken in by a group of other superpowered young people and develops a particular (rather unhealthy) attachment to one of them. She struggles with feeling alienated and abandoned and worrying about her potential to turn evil, and these insecurities build until a villain takes advantage of this to try to use her for her powers. Her friends--who really do care about her more than she's given them credit for--intervene, and she ultimately chooses to do the right thing and gets a second chance at a normal life.
Rachel's story is very different, but there are some thematic similarities.
Elystan: 29. What do they consider to be their greatest strength? Is this actually their greatest strength, or is there something about themselves they don’t see?
Elystan thinks he's very clever and can outwit anyone, and he clings to that because he doesn't feel at all capable in any other regard. He majorly overestimates this trait though. His actual greatest strength is...does he even have one? His creativity? His interpersonal skills, if he could ever learn to use them properly? I'm really not sure.

Hi!!! I hope not to bother you but I wanted to ask your opinion about these last chapters since Midoriya's return. Personally, these last moments seemed very interesting to me and have the potential to turn the fight between Izuku and Tomura into something much deeper, because we still don't know how the confrontation between them is going to develop, the fight is inevitable considering that Tomura has no total control of his body and AFO is largely the one who took control in these last chapters.
I also enjoyed how Horikoshi used two characters more central to Midoriya's conflict over others, Uraraka her talk with was the first time where Izuku spoke about Tomura. Horikoshi raised a nice talk between both who are afflicted by the same feelings and gave mutual support, since although class A is united, none is really thinking in the same way as Izuku and Ochako, although perhaps it would have been good to have Todoroki, still Shoto's conflict continues to be taken to a family level, he has referred to Dabi as the sin of his family, for which Iida would like to support him isn't out of place and Kirishima and Bakugou doesn't affect because at the end of the day there is no emotional bond between them, so Bakugou isn't interested in Shoto looking to save Dabi or not, this didn't happen when we talk about Midoriya where Bakugou doesn't want to or at least he still wouldn't be able to understand Midoriya's thoughts. On the other hand, we have Mirio, honestly I would have liked that after Eri, both characters had more interactions especially because in these last chapters we can get to see why Mirio could have been a possible successor. So far only Izuku and Mirio have been able to see or interact with Tenko, Izuku during the war was able to see him and Mirio was able to feel a strange presence in Tomura when he said he had no friends and upset Tenko, who is gaining more control over Tomura's body, to the point that AFO seeks to suppress him. Mirio is from heroes' side one of the few who even without knowing Midoriya's plan offered useful information. When Izuku asks if Tomura is still there, Mirio told him what he saw and this is an advantage, Mirio isn't saying that he fights no matter who is there, this for example is different with Bakugou who at the beginning of the fight he says he can't tell the difference between AFO or Tomura but in the end it doesn't matter. Mirio not only calms Midoriya but even without knowing his plan, he provides useful information for Izuku to act accordingly.
I like how Horikoshi managed certain characters to help the MC in a certain way, especially since both characters are helps in a positive way, Uraraka offers a compression that most class A can't give and Mirio offers a more human heroic side than the one we have seen in characters like Mirko, Best Jeanist or Aizawa when we talk about the villains or at least I feel it that way. I don't try to say that others heroes are bad for fighthing the villians but it's good that we saw other characters like Mirio if we consider that the plot is about how heroes saw the villians.
Tumblr media
W-Woah this is a lot! I’ll do my best to touch on all the points you mentioned I’m actually excited thank you for this Asks! I love the enthusiasm! Ok, I have a lot of opinions on the latest chapters some great, some unsure, and some that still need to be polished.
But yes the fight is inevitable. Regardless of any theories there is no way AFO is going to give up Tomura’s body. He worked too hard and it no surprise he lie saying of course they fused. Thank goodness for Mirio to call out that lie, because clearly people can’t tell he a lying liar bastard sometimes.
Gosh I adored that scene with Izuku and Ochako! I wish Shoto was there too because honestly those three all want to save their respective villains. Kirishima and Bakugou only seem to understand for Shoto that this is family. They might seem more unsure if it was Tomura and Toga who have no connection to them.
Izuku doesn’t trust anyone with the fact he wants to save Tomura despite the fact the man leveled a whole city. But he shared this with Ochaco and this is important level of trust.
Bakugou made it clear he didn’t care if was AFO or Tomura that he wanted to defeat him regardless. So the CONTRAST when Izuku did ask about the distinction honestly resonated a lot MORE than would have been if didn’t make that distinction. Because people aren’t realizing that most of these heinous acts are AFO, with some Tomura tantrum sprinkled in. Courtesy of Mirio saying and doing just the right thing to show the combination is shaky and not as strong as AFO lying about.
Mirio has been shooting up to top four character because of this and man I wish he showed up more too after Eri.
Best Jeanist and Aizawa..... They aren’t exactly going to see a victim they only going to see a monster or villain. It isn’t bad but it shows they have a very narrow window for Aizawa it’s the truama of losing his friend, while Jeanist is a professional who also was traumatized by AFO just instantly destroying him first encounter.
So we NEED Ochako and Mirio as if Horikoshi is saying THIS is the next generation. They both are supporting the MC in his goals despite everything seeming to be saying ‘kill’ the villain they are choosing to save. And bless them I adore it.
Tumblr media
I need heroes actually being Heroic and truly good at heart to contrast the dark villains.
On another note I have some... Thoughts on poor Bakugou role in this war. And it not exactly pleasant with the message this is sending. Since he couldn't give a shit if Tomura a victim or not.

“None are known to be good, till they have an opportunity to be bad”-Benjamin Whichcote
Summary: From the day you laid your eyes on Izuku Midoriya you knew you were going to be drawn to him.
From the day you laid your eyes on Izuku Midoriya you knew you were going to be drawn to him. There was something about the way the college student stood in front of you with his arms drawn into himself as if he shrank far enough he would disappear. You couldn’t help but smile softly at him.
The man in front of you was impressive to say the least even though he didn’t look it. He was able to track your group for days without your people even knowing. He documented everything in notebooks he carried with him. You watched as his Adam's apple bobbed the more he stared at you. He was trembling slightly, but his eyes never wavered. They held a fire behind them, one that you couldn’t even begin to describe.
“Midoriya, right?” you asked, folding your hands in front of yourself.
“What do you want with me.”
It wasn’t a question. Part of you grinned at the challenge. You had to give him credit, his voice only shook a small amount. Anybody else wouldn’t have been able to have the courage to do so, much less to you.
Standing up from your chair, you signaled to the guards on either side of the door to stand down when they tried to move closer, weapons raised.
“Do you know who we are?” you asked peering down at the streets below you. All Might was battling a water quirk user. You scowled at the scene before you, it was only a matter of time before he beat them to a pulp.
“I know,” he said slowly in an attempt to keep his voice level, “that you’re an organization dedicated to uprooting false heroes.”
Without turning around you gestured for him to continue. You watched his reflection in the window, he took a deep breath almost willing himself to talk once more.
“You took Endeavor down and made a deal with Stain.”
“Very good,” you clapped, turning back around to face him. He was focused entirely on you. ”Now do you know who I am?”
He didn’t hesitate, “The Woman in Red, heroes and villains alike haven’t been able to catch you. Nobody knows what your quirk is or if you even have one.”
You nodded to yourself, he showed promise. If you could use it to your advantage there would be no way your plan would fail. With his help you could uproot the fakest hero of them all.
“Tell me, what do you think of us Midoriya?”
It took him a couple of seconds to register what you said judging by the way his green eyes were transfixed on the destroyed All Might poster off to the side of the room.
“A reminder,” he jumped at the sound of your voice while his eyes fixed themselves onto you. “All Might isn’t the hero that everybody believes he is,” you watched his eyes widen at your words. Part you assumed it was from shock at the way you said them so carelessly, but there was something else there. It was swimming under the surface almost begging to be unleashed.
Before you could place it, he coughed and straightened his posture. He could’ve looked confident when he stood like that if he didn’t shrink into himself at the last moment. With the proper training he’d stand to his full size without feeling insecure.
“Why am I here?” his voice was softer than before, concealed. It made a vicious smirk cross onto your face. You couldn’t wait to help him unlock his true potential. The thought alone almost had you pouncing on him, but you refrained. You wouldn’t scare him away just yet.
You moved closer to him, allowing your nails to drift across the wood over your desk before using one of them to tilt Midoriya’s face closer to yours. He didn’t pull away.
“Because, Izuku Midoriya,” you refused to leave his gaze, “I want you to join Chimera.”
He gulped at the proximity, “And if I refuse?”
You couldn’t help the breathless laugh that escaped your lips. He was too cute for his own good. You flicked your eyes to his before locking them on his lips.
“Then, I guess I’ll just have to find a way to persuade you,” you emphasized the words by moving closer until your lips brushed against his. You watched as he unconsciously closed his eyes and leaned into it, but before your lips fully touched you turned towards the door.
You didn’t miss the pout that crossed onto his face when you broke away, but he missed the sadistic smile you wore as you gestured for the guards to file out. All you received in return was a nod from them until they headed out the door.
When it was your turn you held the door open, but before leaving you met his gaze one last time.
“I’ll give you two weeks to make a decision, until then I look forward to our next meeting,” you purred and leaned against the open door in a way that rivaled Jessica Rabbit, “Izuku Midoriya.”
After you spoke those final words you left with a laugh while he stood in the dark room wondering what just happened.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“She wants you to join, huh?” Aizawa said from where he was perched on the rooftop. His eyes were scanning below, from the lights of the buildings Midoriya could make out the bags under the man’s eyes. It had to be a late night that was for sure.
Part of Izuku felt guilty pulling the man away from much needed sleep, but being an underground hero he needed allies and the only one with enough experience was Aizawa.
“What should I do?” he asked, moving out of the darkness and closer to the man. He watched the capture scarf blow in the wind slightly while he shivered. It was becoming colder even in Spring, he’d have to get warmer gear.
Out of the corner of his eye Aizawa seemed to notice because a soft smile slid onto his face, “I told you to bundle up problem child, but you never listen.”
Before Midoriya could say anything a jacket was flung his way, he jumbled it until he was able to hold it steady. Peering down his eyes widened with disbelief.
“Are you just going to stand there or put it on?”
He didn’t need to be told twice. Stumbling out a yes, he wrapped the jacket around him and zipped it up. It was sleek, light fitting but also warm. Izuku couldn’t help but sink into the feeling. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been hugged, but wearing that coat he felt like he received the biggest embrace in the world.
A peaceful silence fell over the two of them while they stared out at the streets below. It was a quiet night, the only sounds were of the cars driving by and an occasional group of friends walking past. Their voices echoed off the buildings and were burned into Izuku’s ears.
He wondered what that was like, having friends. He knew going down the path he was on would be dangerous. He couldn’t have time for them if he was going to save people, especially since there was a chance they could become targets.
Still, he couldn’t help but wonder if his life would’ve been different if he’d had them when he was younger.
“I think,” Aizawa began, causing Izuku to fix his eyes onto his mentor. “That you should do it. You can get into their organization and gain intel, be a double agent of sorts.”
Izuku’s heart stopped. “Me?” he sputtered, “Do you really think I could pull something like that off? Half of the pro heroes have tried to take Chimera down and they’ve come up empty handed everytime! And besides the only reason I followed them was to bring the information to you!
How do you know I won’t end up like the others?”
“I don’t,” came the response. Izuku expected that to be it and for Aizawa to leave, but instead he turned to Midoriya and placed his fist on his protege’s chest, “But if there’s one thing I know it’s that if anybody could take down Chimera it would be you.”
Izuku focused his gaze onto the ground until he felt a hand on his shoulder. Aizawa shot him a look of genuine faith. “She went out of her way to try and recruit you. I doubt she’ll want to hurt you, but keep your guard up.”
With a nod of understanding followed by an “I will”, the man took that as his cue and began to walk towards the edge of the building.
“You don’t have to of course, but if you do, don't try to do everything on your own kid. You’ve got me. And it’s about time you actually started working on the front lines rather than behind the scenes.”
With that he was off, a sigh left Midoriya’s lips. He’d been told time and time again that he wasn’t cut out for field work. Not with college he was juggling as well as the fact that his lack of a quirk was always taken into account. He stared up at the sky, he couldn’t remember when he became like this.
He thought back to the earlier times where he constantly believed he could be a hero. He still believed, but it was subdued. Sad even, but he’d try. If he could take them down it would mean helping more people.
“I wish you were here, mom,” he said to the stars while tears began to slide down his face, “I’m a little lost right now.”
————————————————————————------------------------------
The two weeks seemed to crawl by. Izuku was getting restless. He knew his decision, but he couldn’t find Chimera anywhere. He checked every back alley, store, restaurant that the members usually went in and came up empty handed. Even when he did find the members and tried to follow them shouting wait or slow down it was like they’d disappear at the last second.
After running around for nearly three hours he found a bench next to a nearby park and took a seat. He tossed his head back, attempting to get all of the air he lost back. His clothes stuck to him uncomfortably while his forehead was making his hair stick to it.
They sure can run when they really want to, he thought in between puffs of air. He didn’t know how he’d make it through patrolling, especially now. He dreaded the thought, clutching his side at the reminder. He managed to take Muscular down but not without the villain getting a few hits in. It was worth it though, considering Koda’s smile once he was discharged from the hospital.
Yeah, he thought looking up at the sky with a serene smile. It had been worth it.
After catching his breath, he was about to get up from the bench until a person sat down next to him with a note. They didn’t look at Midoriya, instead they were focused straight ahead. The shades made it difficult to see their eyes, while their hoodie and jeans made them look like an ordinary person.
“An invitation,” the person grumbled out, “Don’t be late.”
Izuku didn’t watch them go, flipping the envelope over he noticed neatly scrawled out cursive. The envelope itself was red with a wax gold stamp. A chimera was in the center while the cursive was in gold. He didn’t open it until he was safe in his apartment.
His breath hitched as he read the words over and over again to make sure he had them right. Once he realized he did, he texted Aizawa on the burner phone they used specifically for underground work and buried his head in his hands.
“What am I getting myself into?”
------------------------------------------------------———————-------------------
The neon lights bathed everybody into an ocean of colors. People were swarmed into the center of the room, dancing and grinding on anybody close to them. The bass caught in Midoryia’s chest as he navigated through the crowd. He glanced around, taking all the strobing lights in. The letter said to meet at The Tavern, but it never specified where.
After bumping into several people and almost being roped into dancing, he finally found the bar. He took a seat and checked his phone as he waited for his nerves to calm down. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been to one of these. He thought back to freshman year when he first started out he’d gone to a local club to see what it was like only to realize he wasn’t really fond of it.
“Not exactly your scene is it?” a bartender asked, sliding him a drink. Midoriya looked up at the woman with a sheepish smile. She looked to be about his age, her short hair framing her face. Earphones were dangling  from ears. Must be her quirk, Izuku thought with excitement. Her pierced brow was raised as she stared at Midoriya.
“Is it that obvious?”
She hummed for a moment, studying him before she nodded, “Nobody wears a shirt that says ‘Club Shirt’ on it. It’s an interesting pick.”
He flushed slightly and rubbed the back of his neck. He knew he should’ve gone with something different.
“Yeah,” he said trailing off until his eyes landed on the drink.
“I don’t—”
Before he continued the woman stopped him, “It’s on the house, you’re waiting for her aren’t you?”
He was about to ask how she knew when you sat down next to him with a smile, “I see you’ve met Jirou, my most trusted friend.”
Izuku watched as the woman, Jirou’s face turned bright red. He almost thought he heard a don’t mention it before she went off to serve more drinks, leaving him with you.
He was nervous, that much was easy to tell with the way his eyes kept jumping from corner to corner. Poor thing you thought while his leg bounced up and down. Part of you cringed, he felt out of place.
“Do you want to go somewhere else?”
The sound of your voice over the music snapped his attention back to you. Taking his blank stare and furrowed eyebrows as a sign, you huffed out a laugh and repeated yourself. He joined in albeit nervously.
“It’s okay,” he said, stirring his drink with the straw, “You planned to meet here. I don’t want to cause any trouble,” he took a deep breath, “Boss.”
You turned to him with wide eyes before waving him off as you leaned closer to the table, “You don’t have to call me boss you know,” you said nonchalantly, “Not even the guards call me that.”
He couldn’t help but stare at you in awe. How you were able to be so calm in a place like this was beyond him, but it helped him relax. With furrowed brows he focused back on his straw. The ice clanked against the glass, but he couldn’t hear it over the song playing.
“What should I call you then?”
Just like the first time you met, you used one of your fingers to tilt his head up, he could feel your breath mingle with his while his face turned a vibrant shade of red. He silently thanked the lights for making it almost impossible for you to see it. He watched as your eyes clouded over while a sinister smile fell onto your face. It made him feel small underneath it.
Before he could say anything, you leaned in close to his ear.
“I have a couple ideas,” your words sent goosebumps to ripple against his skin while his mouth felt dry. He wanted to know what they were, wanted to ask. What was going on with him?!
He didn’t have much time to dwell once he felt your breath ghost against his neck. It was warm and sent shivers down his spine. He briefly felt the touch of your lips against him, part of him hoped you wouldn’t pull away.
“Please,” he rasped before he could stop himself. Your lips curled into a grin, one of your hands snaked from the table to bury itself in his green hair.
“Let’s get out of here.”
He didn’t need to be told twice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The cool air of the outside clashed with the warmth from the club. Izuku barely processed your lips meeting only to find that in the next minute he was up against the brick wall behind the club. Your hands tangled themselves into his green curls causing him to whimper against your lips.
“Fuck,” you muttered, pussy clenching at the sound he made. You wanted to hear more, wanted him to scream. You placed your knee in between his legs, he instantly started to grind down on your thigh. He tried to pull away from you, but that only made you hold his curls tighter before letting him go. A string of saliva was all that left the connection until you wiped it away with the back of your sleeve.
Izuku’s face was flushed as he tried to catch his breath. Everything about you was intoxicating, especially the way you looked him up and down like he was your prey. He was still grinding against you, his puffs of air were visible in the night. It wasn’t until you touched his side that he flinched.
You pulled your hand away in concern, but he was quick to shush you with the way his lips latched back onto yours. He could tell you about the wound later, you thought. His lips were soft against yours, when you met for another kiss you opened your mouth. Catching the hint, he opened his mouth enough for you to snake your tongue into his mouth. Judging from the way he was grinding faster against you with broken moans you could tell he was enjoying himself.
You pushed him further into the wall, it was surely digging into his back by now, but he made no sound of pain. You made sure to avoid his waist, instead you grabbed a hold of his belt loops and yanked his lower body into an arch.
“Oh my god,” Midoriya groaned, tossing his head back against the wall. He needed more, you were everywhere, breathing into his neck, sucking and biting the skin there. Weakly he went to push you off.
“No marks-can’t ah-can’t ngh cover them.”
A grin casted onto your face. He was so cute like this, all sprawled out under you just as you knew he’d be. You kissed the skin close to his pressure point before staring directly into Izuku’s eyes. Your lips brushed against each other. His eyelashes fluttered as he went to close the space, but you held his neck with one hand and pressed him back.
“I don’t think so baby,” you whispered. Your voice lower in pitch. You didn’t miss the way his pulse jumped under your fingers. Your eyes widened in shock until you gained back control. This was more interesting than you thought. “Does the little hero like this, hm? You like being helpless?” To emphasize your words, you guided his hips with one hand and ground him against your thigh once more.
A high whine escaped his mouth before he could prevent it. He knew this was wrong, that he should stop this but the way your hand made him dizzy around him and the pressure against his cock caused his mind to become fuzzy. What Aizawa didn’t know didn’t hurt him anyway.
“Please,” he whimpered, meeting your leg. He wanted more--no he needed more. “I’ll do anything, I’ll do anything just please.”
“Such a needy little thing aren’t you?” With a huff you slowly stop moving. Tears sprang into the corners of Midoriya’s eyes as he thrashed in an attempt to bring some of the pleasure back, but you only moved your leg away. Broken no’s spilled from his lips and into the cracks of the brick wall. He’s a mess of babbles and pleas. You wait a second longer until you lick a tear from his face, starting at his chin and stopping just below his cheek bone.
He’s about to thank you when you send him a devilish smirk and drop to your knees in front of him. The sight alone causes him to reach his high. You let him calm down, rubbing his thighs through his jeans. You whisper soft encouragements that he can barely decipher.
Looking up at him you can see that his pupils are still blown wide while his chest is heaving up and down. Under the neon red light he looks perfect. You want to devour him, but you hold back. Soon he’d learn how to get hard just by your words alone, but first you’d have to train him.
It isn’t until he comes down from his high that he realizes what he’s done. Mortification falls over him faster than you thought from the way his face flushes even further. You wished he wasn’t in so many clothes, you could almost bet that the same would be found on his neck leading to his chest.
“I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to, I tried holding it in but-”
Slowly, you rose to your feet and before he could stumble over more excuses you kissed his cheek whispering “Good boy,” into his ear. If Midoriya hadn’t just cum he would’ve from those words alone.
You laughed softly at his body’s reaction before breaking away from him fully. You don’t miss the pout that formed on his face when you stepped away. At first it was cute, but now seeing it after this made something snap. You quickly grabbed him by the jaw and traced your thumb over his bottom lip.
“Such a sweet little mouth, making all those pretty sounds earlier, but I think I have more uses for it rather than just pouting,” you locked onto his wide eyes. “Wouldn’t you say, Midoriya?”
He could only nod against you, completely trapped under your gaze. You had him right where you wanted him. “Well then baby boy,” you said detaching yourself once more. “Get to work.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Midoriya woke up in a cold sweat for the umpteenth time that week. He fell back into the pillow with a groan. It had been weeks since that encounter and he was desperate to do it again. He couldn’t escape the sound of your moans echoing in the night or the way your nails dug into his hair just right to send waves of pleasure zipping down his back. And the way you tasted, he craved feeling you against his tongue, drowning in you.
However now that he was officially part of Chimera after being tested the night after he was able to taste you, it had been pretty standard. There was nothing out of the ordinary, the organization ran just like how any other underground facility would. Midoriya had his own jobs that he had to handle such as keeping track of shipments and making sure nobody was caught. He didn’t have much to report back to Aizawa which caused the older man to worry.
Izuku huffed at the sound of his phone vibrating on the nightstand. Speak of the devil. Why couldn’t the man just leave him alone? He knew what he was doing and what he went there to do. Even if his mind was preoccupied with you, he would still put Chimera down first and besides you weren’t serious about him either.
Without looking at the contact he put the phone up to his ear. “Look Aizawa I’m fine I don’t need you checking up on me every second of every day so please just this once don’t contact me on my day off.”
Izuku expected to hear the gruff voice sigh into the other line and promptly begin telling Izuku why checking in is important because it could mean the difference between life and death which, being an underground hero, the lines tend to blur.
Instead, there was a delayed pause followed by a low whistle, “And he lets you talk to him like that? I’m impressed.”
At the sound of your voice, he instantly shot up from the futon. “Boss, hey um why are you calling?” His blood froze for a second. “I didn’t miss anything, did I?!” He tossed the covers off of him and was about to head to his dresser to change when his foot got caught in the sheets causing him to crash to the ground.
You heard the loud bang on the other line causing you to snort. There was a heavy sound of stomping followed by another brief crash that caused you to look out into the city with a smile. You were reminded in that moment that he was still a college student, so full of life.
“Nope, I was just calling to check in.”
Midoriya scowled on the other end of the phone. “You and Aizawa both. I’m fine if that’s what you’re wondering. I have all my body parts intact and none of them are broken,” he even wiggled his hands and sat back on the futon to swing his feet even though you couldn’t see him. “Thank you very much,” he said dryly.
You hummed, mulling over his response. Ever since he joined he’s been more sure of himself, capable. It was an accepted change, after all he needed to be strong. Especially if your plan was going to work. After all, the stronger they are the more fun to break.
“He and I are alike then. You do realize that there’s a very fine line between life and death, right? People like us have to stick together.”
“How are you both the same person?”
That question alone had you laughing. “I don’t know what you’re talking about Midoriya, but I do have something you can do for me.”
He perked up at that. “What is it?”
“I’ll pick you up, how does noon sound?”
“Yes-” he said all too fast before coughing. “I mean yeah sure, whatever works for you.”
“Good, be sure you’re ready early, I always come on time.”
With that you hung up the phone and spun back to face your office desk. Phase one was complete, now you could move on to phase two. Leaning your head on the desk, you could feel rather than see Jirou’s eyes boring holes into your forehead.
“Why aren’t you worried about Midoriya?”
You cocked you head to the side. “Why would I need to be worried?”
“He’s working with Aizawa.” It wasn’t a question, but it didn’t need to be. You knew Izuku was working with the man for years before he even discovered your group, but that didn’t matter. You thought back to his confidence, how he was able to give orders and stand up for himself now, but still looked at you to make sure he wasn’t speaking out of turn. It caused a fire to burn in the pit of your stomach.
“Rest assured, Midoriya won’t be a problem. After all,” you said interlocking your hands on top of the desk. “I have him wrapped around my finger.”

Since Septem was mentioned a week ago I have an excuse to say that Lu Bu was the one utterly screwed by it. Darius is glorified in Fate, and at the very least has a decent-ish role in Septem. Boudica had her time in Solomon’s Temple, as well as some event appearances. Lu Bu in Septem is all we fuckin get, ever, and he only shows up for two sections one of which involving him dying instantly to Altera.
He’s actually one of my favorite characters so it brings me so much pain to see him actually ignored, even when we go to China in lostbelt 3 where Chen Gong and Red Hare are featured we summon Mordred instead for some reason.
He doesn’t even get any attentions in events, his most iconic role was that time he adopted Fran in the knk event and even that has been taken over by Moriarty.
While I wouldn't consider anything Darius and Boduica got “content” - I don't even remember what Darius did in Septem and Boudica’s “moment” in Solomon was pretty blatantly them trying to retcon and excuse away how badly she was written - I do agree that Lu Bu has had even less attention. He’s barely above whatever tier Proto Cu and Erik are on, and I know that’s accurate because I actually only a few days ago realized he was in Septem at all after thinking “wait, is Lu Bu the only non FSN f2p unit who’s never been in a story chapter?” (side note, that’s actually Salome. If you’re picky it’s also Proto Cu and KoGil)
Honestly rather than replace Mordred with Lu Bu (they should have cut Mordred entirely and given proper focus to Nezha) they should have left Chen Gong and Red Hare out of SIN and make one of the serious events (Sea Monster Crisis, Little Big Tengu, Case Files, Ooku, etc) about the three kingdoms. Like a singularity where something throws it off to turn it into an eternal conflict and china and never truly unified. Make it so we go around with Gao as our ‘advisor’ with a focus on working with Lu Bu and Chen to end things. Due to his role as the Wild Card of the Three Kingdoms so to speak, Lu gets a conceptual advantage and becomes our trump card in putting a stop to everything. Red Hare can be the comic relief as per usual.
For new servants we can have: -SR human Guan Yu or SSR deified Guan Yu, either as lancer. -Cao Cao as SSR Saber/Rider. -We can also put in Diaochan as the obligatory new waifu, presumably a caster or assassin. -Zhurong if there’s a waifu quota to be met, Archer or Saber? -Caster Zhong Kui
All of them also work as a villain depending on how it would play out, from Deity Guan Yu being a sort of reverse Quirinus to Cao Cao gone mad to Diaochan being evil and sewing chaos like Lu Bu without caring about him any more, or Zhurong being an envoy of the god she takes her name from/some sort of evil revenge driven version of Lakshmi. OR it could be that Zhong Kui is our welfare, and what’s happened is that legions of vengeful spirits created and fueled by all the bloodshed of the warring states have possessed those like Guan Yu and Cao Cao and created an endless cycle of warfare.
...but see also: Da Ji. Since they decided to fuck up Vitch’s plotline that at least means we could get a true Da Ji servant, something like she made the conflict eternal so she could terrorize china forever. Though I suppose that’d make it weird to not bring Jiang Ziya into things...but then again, Lu Bu is established as despising Tamamo sooooo-
Welfare could be human Guan Yu, Diaochan, Zhong Kui, or Zhurong, again all depending on exactly what the focus is and how it’d play out.  Other servants who could appear for more minor things: - Quiche, i’m sure he’d loathe how many potential rulers of china there are lol - Xiang Yu, for pretty obvious reasons both in regards to historical and nasuverse stuff - Zhuge Lliang, especially if Zhurong is involved. A good chance to finally have Zhuge take control for once. - Iskandar, i’m sure he’d have a field day with this “infinite lands to conquer” - Lakshmi/Trung Sisters due to both their proximity and similar struggle. - Wu Zeitan and Scheherazade, Agartha was Agarbage but that doesn’t mean they can’t make use of that similar experience to properly build on them, especially with Wu being a chinese servant and Scheherzade's parallels to the novelization of Three Kingdoms - Yang Guffei particularly if Da Ji and/or Wu appear. -Geronimo and Robin for both their guerilla warfare and if Zhurong is there their representation of underdogs trampled on by war.
Honestly stupid as it is the 6.5 Lostbelt has me wondering if we might still one day get a three kingdoms event. It seems like such a major thing to skirt around for so long, which is exactly how everyone felt about the Holy Roman Empire and we got that. Meanwhile while there’s chinese censorship and stuff they still went with Lostbelt 3, so ya know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've been reading through as many fanfictions for this movie as there is because I was deprived in A Bugs Life 😂
BUT I have found quite a handful of things that are interesting to me...
Despite the limited screen time of a lot of background characters, most (if not all) of the fanfictions out there share these common headcannons of the characters.
I'll also add the ones we all seem to agree on for the main characters too.
<><><><><><><>
💭 Nolan is the most innocent and precious doll in the whole Institute
💭 Mandy's expertise is somewhere between a hairstylist and makeup artist
💭 Micheal is abusive in some shape or form
💭 Or Micheal is just straight up arrogant and a peice of trash
💭 Lucky Bat has the potential to be a villain
💭 Mandy and Nolan are best friends
💭 Ox does feel remorse for how his and Lou's bond broke
💭 Moxy is actually the one who REFUSES to help Lou
💭 It's either Nolan, Mandy, or Ox who reach out to Lou
💭 In Nolou fanfictions, Micheal is pretty much ALWAYS the main antagonist trying to steal Nolan away from Lou
💭 Lou is just...he's a poor sweetheart that needs love and affection (obvi)
💭 Nolan is nearly always taken advantage of by the other dolls because of his naivity
💭 I guess we all also assume he doesn't have any friends other than Mandy 🤔 (felt that)
💭 Lou is an open flirt until the other person actually starts flirting back...he completely loses his swagger then
💭 All the dolls still have a crush on Lou and think he's hot despite everything (they just don't admit it)
💭 Gibberish cat never makes an appearance in any of the stories I've read
💭 Neither does Wedgehead unless the story is a repeat of the movie 🥲

Another essay/review I made. Pretty unique one too if I say so myself.
Something that I don't think gets enough recognition in media is characters that didn't have much screentime but we're incredibly memorable nonetheless. And I'm here to show off some of my favorite examples of this. The nanto seiken master: shin and the user of the emperor: hol horse.
HOL HORSE
Out of all the part 3 JoJo villains, aside from Dio and maybe vanilla ice, hol horse is definitely the most popular with fans. Now there is crazy diamonds demonic heartbreak (I think that's what it's called?) But I haven't read that so I'll just stick with the main series. Hol horse only appears in 4 out of the over 40 episodes of stardust crusaders but he still made a crazy impact with his character in the sea of other minor villains.
His stand: the emperor is a type of stand that's really unique and I can't think of any that are quite like it. The closest one is Anubis but even then Anubis was more of the stand user than the actual stand. It's a gun that's a stand. I don't need to explain why that's awesome. But I will anyway. A gun with infinite ammo and the bullets can be controlled to go anywhere. That is a kickass concept that is taken advantage of in the fight scenes he's in.
The fight with centerfold and polnareff is probably one of the best fights on stardust crusaders pre battle in Egypt. The combination of hanged man and emperor made a pretty interesting and exciting situation for polnareff and kakyoin and even served as a bit of character development for polnareff with the (fake out) death of avdol and one of the cooler kakyoin moments with the (actual) death of centerfold.
And the (kind of) fight with boingo/mondatta was a good amount of light hearted fun in contrast with the constant threat of Dio and the potential death of holly. That part with horse man holding polnareff up at gunpoint always makes me die laughing.
Plus in some ways, Mr. Horse goes through his own mini character arc. Goes from working with someone as evil as centerfold to kill polnareff either because of the money or just for the sake of it, to trying to betray Dio from how sick he is of his shit to hospital because he got his ass shot by his own gun, to whatever happens in the josuke thing but again I'm not talking about that.
Hol horse is a great part of jojo and one of the best examples of a memorable character with little screentime. But how about the other side of this coin? What about the very first major antagonist of my absolute favorite story of all time?
SHIN
Consider this part 3 of my endless shilling for fist of the north star. (Part 1 and 2: https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/comments/q30mop/i_absolutely_love_kenshiro_and_he_is_one_of_if/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterRant/comments/s6u32s/the_fangs_arc_is_the_greatest_arc_i_have_seen_in/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
If hol horse was one of the best examples of a memorable character with little screentime, shin is THE best example. Again I'm only going off the original series. In this case the manga. So no movies or side series's or whatever.
The main reason I believe shin is better than hol horse is because of how little he actually appears in the manga. To put it into perspective, hol horse appeared in episode 10/11 of the first half of the part and episode 12/13 of the second half. The first time shin is even mentioned is about half way through chapter 6 and is noscoped at the end of chapter 10. Less than 5 fucking chapters with this guy and he feels infinitely more developed than anyone in dozens of other animes/mangas I have seen.
Like hol horse, shins fighting style: nanto seiken is an incredibly unique power. Unlike hokuto shinken which is focused on destroying the victim from the inside, nanto seiken is focused on destroying the victim from the outside by just slicing them to pieces like blades with just the users hands. I don't know how you can get a cooler martial art than that (aside from hokuto shinken of course)
Shin is also very good at playing both sides of the villain coin. On the one hand he's great as a Dio type MENACING over the top crazy villain with the actions he does plus his personality but also great at the sympathetic and tragic type villain with his backstory and the death of yuria.
And the fight with kenshiro he has is one of the greatest fights I've seen in any manga. It's so well drawn and has so much emotion to it that it trounces every other fight scene in almost every other anime/manga in both ways.
The fight and shin as a whole also serves a lot for kenshiros character. His whole character is about loss and shin is kind of the thing that sets it all off with the indirect killing of yuria who was the only one kenshiro truly loved and who loved kenshiro. And shin killed all of that when he bullied kenshiro at first and stole yuria from him.
Shin is one of my favorite antagonists in manga and the absolute best example I can think of when talking about characters that made a big impact with short time in the spotlight.
But that's only 2 characters. What are some memorable characters that you can think of that didn't have much screentime? Hell, how about the opposite of this? What about characters that have the majority of screentime but are ultra bland and boring? I want to what you all have to say.

You wrote a lot but all I see is "the potential to be a rapist or pedo" and that's also bad enough? That's the same thing imo. A redeemable char would *never* have that as potential, which is why I'm judging them because it shouldn't even be potential. I don't know why ppl don't understand that "they could be a rapist" still comes off as the same exact thing, the essence of their character. You would never say that about another sk8 char.
Yes I write a lot lmao XD
Anyway, even if I wrote a lot I feel like I didn't make myself clear enough, and your ask is exactly the reason why.
I'll try to be concise and clear, but I really can't promise anything. To begin with, "you would never say that about another sk8 character", is a bit of a tautology, because Adam is the only villain depicted as such. It's easy to associate the two things, a character being the villain and him actually doing bad, morally wrong, things. I am also inclined to say that it's fine for a villain to be bad, because that's their job, but I feel that it's the amount of "canon hints" we're given that makes the difference in the end. I'm taking an example from another fandom, which is also a spoiler (but the series is 20 years old almost so...), but I feel it's a perfect example to make my point clear. so I advise you to idk stop reading if you are playing/watching this series now (cw for sexual assault and killing).
I'm talking about Adachi from Persona 4, who has, canonically, meaning that there is a scene showing that, tried to sexually assault and eventually killed an high school girl. Now, he is the main villain of the series and I like his character, but I would never ever think of justifying or excusing his behavior. He did those things, pretty obvious in a canon scene for us to see, and he didn't show any sign of repenting while doing them. The series tries to give him a redemption arc somehow in a future game but the things he has done can't be erased and, when writing a story or generally talking about his character, they should be always taken into consideration. And, fyi, this one character does end up in jail, because he is a murderer (and the protagonists uncover his wrongdoings).
Back to Adam. He has never actually done anything on screen. The fact that the fandom decided to label him a sexual offender is entirely their interpretation. I think there are a lot of counterarguments to him being a r*pist. He has never touched or even showed signs of wanting to touch Langa in a sexual way without his consent. I highlighted this part because I think that's what marks the fine difference line between a sexual offender and someone who just had this label put on him by a fandom. First of all, the only person he has shown a canon interest is Langa (arguably Tadashi but it's another story); for example, with Miya or Reki he has never approached them with such intentions. I can't stress enough that he gives Miya advice from afar and is lowkey puzzled and offended when Reki hugs him in their second beef. Apart from the fact that Langa is 17 and I'm not going to go vld again (i avoided such a fandom at the times because of this), Adam has shown even signs of backing off when Langa felt distant to his advances. In ep 5 he could have invited him in his car, if he wanted to take advantage of him, but he didn't. It's very clear that, even if he says that he wants to love rather than being loved, he is very keen on making sure of reciprocation.
I understand that there are some people that use villains in media to project the Bad Things happened in their life to that, and it's fine if someone wants to read his character as such, but I am, in every possible way distancing myself from this interpretation. I read fanfic about abusive Adam but, in the end, i felt like they were a bit ooc, in my opinion. But I can see why people would see him as such.
Is his behavior problematic? Sure, to an extent. Even the author, as an Adam apologist and stan, addresses that and in multiple instances she repeats that he has been taught a wrong form of love (and that's part of the reason why he ended up a villain). However, i feel that it's not correct to dump him in the same category of actual r*pists and p*dos in media; he hasn't done anything of the sort in canon (and from the author's words he wasn't even supposed to), so I want to be free to enjoy potraying him as a broken, prolly problematic to an extent character, but still capable of being good (as he proved to be, in the end). The world is not purely black or white, and Adam falls in a shade of gray not many viewers have grasped. I'm not going to impose my views on anyone (that's why I said it's fine if you want to see him a way i don't agree with; he's a villain and a very sexualized one so it's just a matter of fact that such an association is made), but I feel that my interpretation of Adam as just an over the top villain who had been broken by a toxic environment is well motivated enough. After all, one of the messages of sk8 is that broken things can be fixed to an extent! I understand that there are kinds of toxic behaviours that shouldn't be forgiven so easily or at all, but I personally don't think that Adam's one falls in this category.

lmao i don't know all your shipping preferences but can i say, i much prefer sam with ba'al than with jack (this might be because i'm a high jack/daniel shipper but also, i just prefer the sam/ba'al vibe over the sam/jack vibe)
I'm a multishipper so I ship pretty much everything simultaneously: I love JackDaniel too 🥰🥰🥰 They are so cute and so good for eachother 🥺
Honestly yeah I prefer the vibe of BaalSam to JackSam as well 👁️👅👁️ But that's personal taste and interpretation of course 🥴
Oh no now I feel like explaining in depth why I love Baalsam and why I ship it... oh no... someone stop me 😩... LET'S FREAKING GO I'M GONNA EXPLAIN WHY!!!!
Mino’s “Here’s why I love BaalSam so much” aka just me gathering up the few baalsam crumbs the show writers, Amanda Tapping and Cliff Simon left in their wake....and baking a cake with those crumbs.
Before I start, PSA: English is not my first language, so please bear with me if there are any mistakes 😭
Okay so I feel like at first I can't explain it without mentioning the differences with jacksam, and to all jacksam shippers: I love jacksam to bits too and they're so good, as the show has showed us multiple times, but I miss a little spice here 😩🌶️
I will also briefly talk about things I have found in Baalsam fics that I adore in (Fic points)!! And link back to fics I love with (x)!!!!
(Mid-writing note: I realize I say a lot about Baal and less about Sam, and that is because I just think about Baal way much than I think about Sam, mainly because we have so little Baal screentime compared to Sam’s screentime. I often wonder how/what he feels and try to analyze his behavior closely. 🥺 I don’t do it as much with Sam, sadly 😭
1. The ship dynamic scale (totally made up by yours truly, me 😎)
I often describe the ships I prefer as "A is obnoxious and B is struggling to stay sane" (maybe because it is a description of my own relationship??? 🤔) (this is exagerrated for fun and giggles don't worry i am fine and happy). They are all a variation of this, in different levels. I'd say jacksam fits level 1, Jack being obnoxious sometimes but in an endearing, jokingly, "aww you're such a goof 😍😂" way, and Sam's not really struggling, she just laughs and shakes her head, her heart full of love for her man.
Baalsam on the other hand. Oh boy. They are on level 5 out of 5. What the hell. Baal is obnoxious, in the villain way. And that means, a VERY extra way. He's mean obnoxious. Putting salt in the wound obnoxious. "if you don't shut up I will punch your teeth in/shoot you" obnoxious. Sam is struggling every minute to stay sane with this crazy motherfucker. He's SO MUCH. ALL THE TIME. But joke's on her, she also thinks it's funny. 🤡 That's her sanity flying out the window.
Seriously, Sam has to put her foot down. She has to play Baal’s game and sometimes be mean too. I feel like Baalsam allows Sam to unveil her true potential. A strong woman who takes no shit from men and 2000 years old overlords. She can be 200% true, smug, mean. Maybe JackSam respect each other too much they wouldn’t dare saying/doing some things like Baalsam would  🤔 Maybe Sam is restrained by everything she lived with Jack, the respect she has for him, the 10 or so years spent having him as her superior officer.
A lot think that Sam got her smug from Jack, but I don’t agree: she was smug from the get-go in COFG. She just can’t be too smug with him around or it’d sound like insubordination. Aint she tired of being nice? Doesn’t she wanna go apeshit? That’s what baalsam is. Sam going apeshit and quitting being the perfect nice girl.
Baalsam is an explosive volcano and it ravaged me 😩💖💖💖
2. Baal is a Villain
Send him to horny villain jail!!! BONK!!! 💥🔨
Baal being a villain is VERY important. Villains are so extreme. Everything he does, he does way too hard and too much. His evil plans? As layered as an ogre. Onion. I meant onion. His wardrobe? Nothing but the finest. His love? He'd give his Queen the Universe.
I love that. Everything he does, it's too much. But it's so amazing. Urghhj I love it SO MUCH. Sam is overwhelmed 😩💖 All of that for HER?? Damn, boi either really wants to get laid with her especially or.. 🙊‼️ I love the concept of a Villain’s Love because it knows no boundaries. A villain won’t be held back by things like morals, the love they feel is disproportionate......AND I DONT KNOW Sam being able to provoke this kind of feeling in Baal’s little snake heart makes me lose my absolute fucking mind!!!!!
Very important too: even if he becomes a SGC ally in one way or another in whatever AU, Baal will still keep his good ol' villain habits. Sam would try to tone them down, but they will always be there. You don't erase 2000 years of bad habits 😭. His first solution will be murder, and she will go "we talked about this." Classical Enemies to Lovers shit  🥴💖 (x)
(Fic point: When Baal does something so extreme yet so so soooo damn sweet for her and Sam can’t believe it??? 10/10 Or when he acts on his villain plans for distasteful jokes and that puts Sam on a tight spot and he immediately feels bad at the unfair treatment she gets because of him (x))
3. The endless verbal jousting
I love watching them being mean to each other. If Baal goes too far, she /would/ hit him, and he would turn his other cheek saying "Do it again, loved it". What a freak 🥴🌶️ (x)
Honestly I just love their little sparring matches, even more so when they do it in front of an audience. Like lmao guys..... y'all flirting in front of everyone what the hell!!! BONK !! 💥🔨 horny jail for both of you. At least Teal’c seems to enjoy their jousting   He even teases them holy shit, Teal’c is the true multishipper in that show!!!!
Tumblr media
(Fic point: When they argue and come to a fistfight (mostly Sam hitting and Baal taking or blocking the hits)? HELL YEAH!!!!)
4. Admitting the other’s qualities
I’ll start with Baal:
Baal seems to appreciate the courage Sam shows in front of him. You could explain her confidence in The Quest by saying that at this very moment Baal doesn’t have an advantage on Sam since she’s the one holding the gun. There is something else, and I will bring it up later.
Let’s talk about Reckoning!!!! The situation is different, Baal actually called for help whereas he was supposed to kill everyone on Dakara. And here goes the little sparring match in front of Jacob  🤡 Sam ordering Baal around??? Being smug as hell??? 10/10 love it
Tumblr media
It’s the first time he sees her and he’s taken aback. He should look mad, having a woman addressing him like that. But he looks rather surprised and curious of what’s going to happen next. I can literally hear the little “Hm. Interesting.” in his head. Baal enjoys that smug look on her face. Tau’ri female who??? Who IS she!!! Quick gotta be a jerk so she won’t suspect I’m crushing super hard right now!!!! Cliff Simon decided Baal will be the horny one among the System Lords and holy shit he did just that 😂😂😂 i’m sorry i’m just incohenrently babbling at this point I CANT BELIEVE THIS, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!!!! you thought that huge ass post was going to be me thoughtfully bringing points and evidence? nope it’s just me losing my shit.
I believe that, despite what Baal says, he recognizes Sam’s intelligence to some extent. He’s just too proud to say it clearly and is too busy testing Sam’s limits. The more I think about it, the more I feel like he really looked for that punch in The Quest. Some kind of... I don’t know... “What makes you so special, as a female Tau’ri, to be on your kind’s elite scout team? How much can you take before you retaliate, if you retaliate at all? Show me what you’re made of.” kind of thing? Baal has shown some kind of interest in Earthlings in the past. He has studied them while living among them and he seems to like how different they are from other humans, Now he knows she’s as fierce as she needs to be to survive in this galaxy.
Have you sEEN his smile and his laugh after she punched him in The Quest? AFTER SHE TURNED HER BACK TO HIM TOO, OH, MY GOD. He really wanted a drastic reaction from her and he got it.
Tumblr media
That is a “I love me a woman who can kick my ass” kinda smile if you ask me  👁️w👁️...
What makes me think that it was a test is: after the punch and Sam’s threat to kill him, he stops being so annoying and they can finally work together. But why? Why did he care about being killed? He was a clone, there’s no way he was still hoping to steal the Sangraal from SG-1, so his mission as this one Baal clone couldn’t be fulfilled anyway. That makes me think that he was just testing Sam’s limits, and maybe having a little fun with her.
(Fic point: I LOVE IT when Baal gets access to the SGC and everyone gets on his nerves because he thinks they are all dumb as shit. But when he talks with Sam, he’s not so annoyed. She can keep up with him. Well, sometimes she needs a little help but- Maybe she’s okay to be with sometimes...(x))
Sam’s turn:
Tumblr media
It’s no problem for Sam to admit Baal’s intelligence. However the idea of working with him just makes her go [grimacing emoji]  😭 😭 😭 She just knows he’s gonna be obnoxious pfahahaha But!! She trusts and values his knowledge nonetheless! She knows that teamed up with Baal, they can solve anything. I believe that’s why she asks him for help so easily despite...Well, Baal being Baal.
Tumblr media
I feel like, when you put the "it’s a matter of life and death” thing aside, Sam’s desire to learn could push her towards Baal. She knows there is a lot she could learn from him, and they can work together once he stops insulting her every 5 seconds. She can learn from him in those moments.
(Fic point: I love fics where Sam learns things from Baal... It’s usually very sweet, because Sam is absolutely adorable when she’s excited about science and Baal can’t help but melt a little bit when she smiles so bright at him. Thankful.)
5. Sam’s kindness
I said earlier that, as we all know, Baal is a villain. But what’s important here is that he is a Goa’uld System Lord.
No trust, no kindness and love allowed between those guys. Those would leave the door open for treason and low blows. (See Qetesh in Continuum)
(I believe the only Goa’ulds truly in love we saw were Apophis and Amaun’et)
Now what I tell myself is: that must be pretty freaking lonely. In any shape or form. You can’t have friends, because you can only befriend your fellow godlings who will try to kill you at any given opportunity. Same for mates. 🤔 Baal is just alone at the top of his army and that’s all. What if this isn’t enough? He is different from other Goa’ulds.
What if Sam’s genuine worry and thankfulness towards him in Reckoning were the first time he had someone feel those towards him for like, hundreds, or even thousands of years? Not something distorted and stained by any slave-to-god adoration?
Tumblr media
He is soooo surprised. He even stutters a little? At a loss for words when faced with kindness, you, galactic overlord? And she looks actually worried about him and his ship about to go down, when before saying thank you, she asks him what’s going on. I like to think that this first interaction shaped what Baal will think and feel for Sam forever....And that it made him a bit soft for her  🥺 Maybe he sees in Sam (and in the rest of SG-1, see: how much fun he’s having with them during The Quest) a possibility for friendship and maybe more, something he hasn’t considered for A WHILE. He seems to be thinking “did she really say that...wait what do I answer to this...uh....Good luck.......ok i said it. damn that was weird.”
Also can I briefly talk about this??
Tumblr media
Why does Sam look so embarrassed in a “Oh god right Dad is right there and saw all of that hUM.” way 😂 I don’t think she felt like it was creepy, since Baal was just responding to her kindness, and she definetely doesn’t want to talk about her being nice to a System Lord with Jacob bjfdjgbfdg
(Fic point: All I can think of is this fic where Sam gets thrown in a prison cell with a badly beaten up Baal (his symbiote is not able to heal his wounds because of a collar he wears), and she refuses to leave him there to die. They escape together 😭💖💖💖 (x))
6. Sam knows Baal will never hurt her
Maybe this is a result of Sam’s kindness in Reckoning, but Baal made it clear to Sam that he would never hurt her directly. And this is what I was referring to when I said “there’s something else” in Sam’s confidence in confronting Baal. This line below activates all of my monkey braincells because what the hell!!!!
Tumblr media
That’s “I kinda like you” in Villain language is it not????? Out of all the things Baal could have answered to “You can kill me if you want”, he decides to say “I would never dream of killing you.” with a voice so soft... oh my god. Talking about soft....
Tumblr media
Is it me or Baal’s touch on Sam is kind of gentle....like he doesn’t hold her wrist too tight or anything,,,,  🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭💖💖💖 Because honestly, another Goa’uld would have yanked on her arm so hard to put their hands on that hard drive but no no no he just closes his hand on her wrist and lets her go gently when she pulls out of his grip and AM I OVERANALYZING THIS?????? IM SORRY I GOT THAT TRAIT FROM MY DAD!!!!!!! we just have that tendency to watch things over and over again to notice all the small detailsssss
I like to think that afterwards, once the heat of the moment gone, she noticed that, hey. He /could/ have hurt her very badly, she was at his mercy after all. But he decided against it. Maybe because she’s the only one who’s been nice to him for literal cenTURIES????? HHHNHNHNHNHN I CANT!!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE SHE NOTICED IT!!!! And that it’s why she’s so confident addressing him like she does in The Quest.
I think I’ve addressed pretty much everything here and I’m going to talk about more things I like about BaalSam but more on the headcanon side  🤔
Miscellaneous:
About Baal’s host:
I have said multiple times that Baal is different from other Goa’ulds, and I really don’t think it is just an act.
Tumblr media
He is willing to break the god act, change strategies when he realizes there are better ways to proceed, searching for new allies in drastic situations, etc etc... Baal is way more human than other Goa’ulds.
What if that was because Baal let his host’s thoughts influence his own?
Why wouldn’t there be asshole humans wanting to be hosts to asshole Goa’uld symbiotes? Just like the Tok’ra, but on the villain side? (even if Tok’ras are assholes lol) (except Jacob. I love Jacob) (And Martouf) (I don’t like Martouf but he’s the only one with Jacob that I consider a Real Tok’ra) (The other ones are hypocrites) (ANYWAY!)
I love to think that when Baal doesn’t have the flanged voice, it is his host who speaks, as Tok’ras do. I know symbiotes don’t have to talk with the flanged voice but. Having Baal and his host thinking so alike that it doesn’t matter if it’s the host or the symbiote talking makes so much sense to me. It really could explain his different way of thinking. Baal has shown curiosity for humans and how they think, how to better manipulate them...What if it was because of the good experience he has with his host? It could also explain why he’s the horny one amongst the System Lords 😂 He is just very human in a lot of ways.
Now you’re like “ok but what does that have to do with Baalsam” AND YEAH I HEAR YOU !!!! I just think it may be easier to imagine Baalsam for a non-shipper if you see Baal in that light?  🤔 🤔 🤔 it sure helps Sam seeing herself with him in fics 🥴 I don’t know!!! We know so little about Baal, and there are so many possibilites. I’m going way out of the Baalsam remit but at the same time, I strongly believe those who don’t understand the ship are those who stop their analysis of Baal at Abyss. He is so much more than just “that one Goa’uld who tortured and killed Jack in that one episode”. Baal has so much potential that makes this ship work!! Sam seeing that potential makes this ship work!
Sam hosting Baal (yes, the symbiote):
OKAY OKAY OKAY SO!!! This is something I LOVE to bits!!
That’s a thing that is great if as I said, Baal and his host are on the same wavelength. But it can work without it nonetheless.
Sam hosting Baal, consensual or not, is always ALWAYS such an amazing trope. (x) It’s really something that makes me hyperventilate because it makes them so close...so blended...it’s infinitely intimate... When Baal is in love with Sam, it’s even better. (x) I almost can’t describe it because it is so wonderful. Being able to feel each other’s feelings. Baal healing Sam from inside when she’s injured. Sam deciphering his emotions and most importantly the affection he has for her, especially when he still haven’t confessed it? holy shit it’s SO DAMN GOOD!!!!! The silent conversations they can have within Sam’s head, Baal pouring Goa’uld knowledge into Sam’s mind. It’s just the two of them and I can’t express how comforting that is to read.
i don’t know, random stuff I like i guess, I’m almost done:
He just really craves her attention huh. Look at that smile, so cute...”I’m smart! Did you know I’m smart as hell? Of course you did. But I Would Like You To Acknowledge It.” He’s even bouncing on his heels, i love when he does that!!!! He is turning towards Sam especially too  😭💖 and she’s just ê____ê LMFAO
Tumblr media
(Maybe this is just another “it is my speciality and not yours” moment but hey i like to give him the benefit of the doubt 💖)
Baal being “I’m tired of being a villain, I want to be loved now”...Aren’t you tired of going apeshit? Don’t you want to be nice? just a little bit?
Baal using so much petnames so easily... i’m usually not a fan of those but having him saying “my love, my sweet” etc etc oh fuck!!!!! i don’t know wHY it gets me!!!
A lot of Baalsam fics are smutty, and while I enjoy that, I still think they have so much potential on the spiritual level. They’re both nerds and they both have so many things to learn from the other. (x)
Baal taking Sam on his ship to show her some neat space stuff.
Baal loving motorcycles just like Sam and modifying engines with naqadah.
