#lg doodles#figure drawing#art study#i like this brush 4 practice. idk if you can tell from here#but the drawing path will often split into two lines bc its supposed 2 be a 'chalky' brush#and i think it helps me think less abt line quality and more ab the whole drawing#im trying to get better at drawing bodies esp bodies in unconventional poses (i like top right personally)#but i still need to work on perspective and proportionality#like the bottom one doesnt quite get there. i lose a lot of depth bc i flattened it in my mind#also i cant Crunch bodies .. like i drew his arm abnormally long bc i couldnt figure out how to deepen his back leg#so that its on the same horizon as his hand.much 2 think ab.#but i had fun. so thats a plus. yaay. <did not go 2 life drawing like i said i would#and back 2 top right i do like the contour lines or whatever u would call them. i think his back#is the most simplistic of the whole page and i rly like the style.want 2 make everything that simple#i do also like the face on the bottom.bc i always avoid faces in poses. i think my fatal flaw is that i truly believe that no matter who reads it literally everybody can benefit from reading orv. like even tho it’s such a simple message the thought that no matter what I am Loved and Important and i Will survive no matter what was smth that hit me so hard especially in the context orv does it (trying to be spoiler free) making me feel Seen and helped in a way that no other media has. idk. i love kim dokja so much guys

I never post about it here but since the one year anniversary of its conception was on July 5th i figured I'd post some drawings that i haven't shared here of my persona 4 older nanako AU
The last two drawings are unfinished but i figured I'd post them anyway cuz i like them :3
The story is in a very vague state right now but if you have questions about any of this please ask......i would love to talk about this with people.
The fact that it's been a year since i started working on it is crazy to me and I've improved a lot in various ways. I wish i posted about it here more but because the story is in such an early stage (and also cuz my art isnt that great) i feel afraid to put it on my blog :,) hopefully I'll post about it more now though cuz i really wanna start on developing a much more comprehensive plot to this which posting about it might be the extra push i need.

I love learning ASL it’s so good. Makes me happy to learn it. I’m so glad my university has classes for it with professors actually steeped in Deaf culture.
#blue chatter#am I good at ASL? hahahahahahaha. no.#ASL and English grammar are incredibly different and even when I remember my vocab I am easily clockable as hearing#but I do have some language capacity now. enough to communicate the basics.#and I just. genuinely really enjoy it. it’s fun to learn and engaging in a way most of my classes just aren’t.#and I can. yanno. communicate respectfully w Deaf ppl. and learn about their culture#which is incredibly important given that I want to go into a field where there is a higher incidence than typical of Deaf people#autistic? you’re more likely to be Deaf!#not to mention the fact that sign language can sometimes be a useful alternative to speech for nonspeaking/nonverbal people#depending on the person obvi; some nonspeaking/nonverbal autistics cannot use sign language and that’s okay#but surely at some point I will encounter either a Deaf client or a nonspeaking/nonverbal client who uses ASL#and when that time comes I should have some idea of how to communicate with them#I also rly like the Deaf church by my parents’ house#their community is really welcoming and their services are really interesting#I think it’s rly cool how they take intentions directly from the congregation#they’ll raise their hands and then sign what their intention is from their pew to the ambo#which is rly neat#it is funny bc every time I go the Deaf ppl I talk to will tell each other ‘go slow she’s hearing’#which is ENTIRELY fair bc. I am hearing. and I do need them to go slower.#but it also makes me laugh bc truly everyone knows within a few minutes.#oh hey the new person? they’re hearing. yeah they’re learning ASL at college. sign slowly for her.#which again makes sense bc a big Deaf culture thing is keeping ppl informed. it’s not gossip it’s getting everyone on the same page.#Deaf ppl do NOT beat around the bush that is like the height of rudeness to them. u say what u mean goshdangit. do not waste their time.#which I appreciate the heck out of bc i don’t have to try and phrase things delicately or w/e#it was also funny bc my mom came w me while I was home for Christmas and they asked her if I was her kid#and she said yes. and the lady running the kid’s craft corner thing was like ‘great you’re doing a craft now’#and I’m sitting there. visibly over 18 years old. amongst several seven year olds. trying desperately to figure out how to say hot glue gun#I made a v pretty pinecone tree it was a lot of fun ^-^

the way the most recent pokemon games don't let you turn off the exp share or the affection mechanic bonuses is nothing short of maddening. i think they make great accessibility features If Only They Were Optional and the flavour text is cute, but i want to have a fun casual playthrough that's at least mildly challenging without having to make it a nuzlocke or something. i don't want to feed my starter bitter medicines to make her hate me :(

PLEASE....#i can't do nuzlockes i do Not have the willpower to stick to the rules and they stress me out haha#anyway i am a fool who's left all of my DS games in norway and i got a hankering for replaying sinnoh games#so i decided to get shining pearl right. figured it might be fun even if ill miss the 4th gren spritework something fierce#what ensued was a needlessly complicated process just to get a copy that was slightly cheaper than full price nintendo blood money#there's a store that listed shining pearl at a lower price. not brilliant diamond - just pearl#i feel like maybe it's by mistake since that's the price of a nintendo DS cartridge. so maybe wires got crossed#the norwegian version of the store does NOT have the price disparity.#anyway i can't order online without a swedish phone number. and the local store is out of stock#so i have several long walks to the store to get them to order it in for me and then to order it delivered to me etc#and then of course another long walk to pick up the mail BUT I HAVE IT NOW. I HAVE VIDEO GAME#and it's very nice and nostalgic with a couple quality of life upgrades#my first pokemon game was pokemon diamond. when i got it i was still learning english and had no idea what was happening at any time#good times good times#obviously no pokemon run is ever gonna be as challenging as my first ever run#it does not need to be! u can immediately tell that a lot of difficulty in earlier games is that leveling up your team was a hassle#and almost always required grinding. i do not miss that at all ! but the remakes seem to be Extremely Faithful#so they're not rly structured around how fast you can level your whole team#or that your pokemon are gonna start doing extra crits or hold on to last HP before u even get to the third gym#OH WELL#you know what's very exciting for me though. i have a misdreavous!!! they're pearl exclusive and not in platinum#ive always wanted to do a sinnoh run with a misdreavous on my team for some reason
