In which Peyton Myers is a juvenile parole officer by day, and a vampire slayer by night. With help from a couple in-the-know people in King County, she manages to keep both relatively separate. Until her best friend (and not so secret crush) Rick Grimes witnesses her stab his partner-turned-vampire Shane Walsh.

So I watched Maestro tonight on Netflix. And... I don't get it? The accolades, I mean. The performances were great, especially Carrie Mulligan's. But the whole thing struck me as more of an ego project for Bradley Cooper than anything else. And almost the entire movie was people talking over each other, which meant I couldn't/didn't catch half the dialogue. My lasting impression is that Leonard Bernstein was a supremely selfish man. An asshole, really. And I'm sorry, but tortured artist doesn't have to equal asshole. At least I hope not. And that sort of story doesn't necessarily need a platform like this one.

But the music was excellent. *shrug*

If you want to watch a movie that encompasses life and love and music and artistry and overcoming the curveballs life throws your way, watch American Symphony instead.

I'm so sad Dracula Daily is over, but I'm so glad I got to go on this wild ride with everyone. This insane bookclub has been one of the things to keep me grounded this year (mainly by helping me keep track of the passage of time lmao), but also discovering that even though Dracula is known as a horror novel, it's really about friendship and love.

God, that's so fucking cheesy. But also appropriate, I think.

Anyway, poor one out for Quincey Morris, and happy birthday Quincey Harker. And congrats to the 1890s Scooby Gang for getting their happy ending <3

nothing pisses me off more than people praised for ~doing something amazing~ when the actual product is mediocre and the only reason they had to work so hard is because they failed to properly delegate.

aight so CYL results are in and though I didn't vote for him this year I will 100% be getting Soren. No doubt about that. Maybe also Male Robin if Instys doesn't decide to make him Grima again (doubt it since well... Grima's their own character on there, but you never know)

Fem Corrin winning's nice, though I would have preferred if her male counterpart had one. And then Gullveig being in first place... well usually brand new FEH ocs score high on CYL so I'm not too surprised.

Part of me is also kinda glad that both Shez's are still on the top 20. Male Shez being on 12th place while Female Shez is 14th. Not just that but Arval apparently scored 55th which isn't too high but seeing as there's over 400 characters it's still kinda neat. Though I'm sure that next year the placements will drop, especially since next year will include Engage characters. Wonder if one of these three will get an Alt tho.
