Roman Holiday is almost too lovely to really exist. They just happened to cast two of the most beautiful people to ever exist as the leads of one of the classiest romances ever filmed. It's staggering. How they both have the same classical yet just slightly odd beauty. Both have such classy, restrained bearings. Perfection in film. You could argue that Joe Bradley should have been a Cary Grant role--Peck seems a bit too wholesome to be a scheming, self-serving journalist, while Grant would have had the right trickster vibe--but even that slightly odd fit works in the movie's favor. You can believe in the strength of the very short romance because you feel Anne can trust Joe. His scheming is just a veneer over a thoroughly decent guy. And Grant would never in a million years have been able to pull off that press conference scene the way Peck does. Peck is the embodiment of grace and dignity and restraint, and Hepburn is too, and the result is incandescent. Almost too good to exist in this flawed world.

now that my friend pointed it out i cant stop thinking about the design of the tardis in the tv movie because 1) it was gorgeous but 2) that was a home. that was his home. he had a chair to lounge in and a record player. seeing the tardis in the tv show, that one huge console room, bigger on the inside and yeah, it’s impressive but it’s functional. (i’m assuming this is a budget thing, because it would probably be extremely impractical to have the kind of set they put together for the tv movie for every episode of an actual show lmao.)

there’s just something so. i think it’s the first time i’ve really looked at the doctor in the tardis and thought, right, he lives in there. rather than it just being his car. it is very funny to think of the doctor as a guy living out of his shitty van, but no, the tardis can be a home. it can be warm and comfy and full of knick-knacks.

So like during the 21 years after Héctor disappeared and Ernesto became a big star, did it never occur to Imelda to wonder why all the sudden Ernesto was performing solo? If Ernesto is this hugely famous musician singing Héctor’s old songs, why isn’t Héctor singing them too? Was she so completely anti-music at that point that she never even noticed that Ernesto was performing alone and Héctor had apparently just yeeted off the face of the earth? Like I get it she was majorly hurt by what she thought was Héctor ditching her but all I’m saying is if I’m Imelda and I see Ernesto rising to fame alone after my husband left with him, some alarm bells are gonna start ringing in my head

Continuing the thoughts from this post, this was my original concept for Feyre's dinner gown.

Based on some suggestions from the linked post, I made a few mockups of different silhouettes. I still really like the original Edwardian-inspired style, but I'm curious to see what other people think.

I had a lot of fun "playing with paper dolls" as I layered each drawing and held it up to the light, like this:

It was a great way to visualize different combinations without coloring everything over and over again. (And I'm not proficient enough in Photoshop to try anything that way.) Old school for the win! :D

Anyway.

Overall, I still prefer my original concept, but I don't know if I like the silhouette better with long sleeves or short. Hmm. I know the final decision is up to me and what I feel comfortable drawing, but I am curious if anyone has any differing opinions from mine.
