Truly I think, the most poetic way to end this series is for Conrad to go from writing notes on Fuck's door to finally realizing, a clear conscience is its own source of relief

Angsty set of Morgana-opinion Headcanons for the GaGene family bc yk what they need a bad day. just a bit of a bad day.
• Conrad is an easy subject. Morgana is… a much more complicated topic of discussion for the family. She’s influenced a large part of Gavus’s life, and raised Liberta, and they both have varying opinions on her.
• Gavus is a lot more solid in his feelings, they’re complicated, yes, but he’s solid in that his disapproves of her actions. He’s had time to come to terms that what she is doing is not okay and that he cannot support her any longer. Gavus knows that Morgana is not as good a person he thought she was, but even then. He cannot truly bring himself to hate her. She hurt him, his kids, his husband, and yet he cannot find it in him to hate her. He still wants to plead with her and make her see reason, even after knowing she won’t listen. He does find it painful, even now, to think about the good times with her. It’s jolting to know someone you loved and respected turned out to be so horrible, and it taints everything, Morgana is no exception.
• On Liberta’s side, it’s quite a bit more complicated. Liberta doesn’t know how to respond to Morgana’s actions and horribleness. He doesn’t want to believe it at all actually. He finds himself, often, unable to process what he had actually went through and what is good and bad in his childhood with Morgana because he genuinely cannot tell. Not to mention she treated him nicely, like a son! She can’t be all that bad then, right? She’s still a good person deep down, because she has to be.
• He’s got a good ol’ case of Mafuyu Asahina basically
• Eugene, on his own opinions, hates Morgana. He despises her, and every single fake ass person on the Celestial’s faction. He hates that she messed up badly, that she betrayed Gavus and raised Liberta to believe that his feelings don’t matter. He hates that she did that to his family, and he hates how the situation is complicated. It’s not like everyone can agree she sucks as easily as they do with Conrad. Hell, it hurts him that Liberta even saw her as a parental figure at all! That fucking sucks, and he can’t do anything about it because she DID raise his kid, like it or not. He’s mindful about what he says about her around the kids, but next to Gavus he’s mouthing her off left and right as many chances as he can get whenever she comes up in conversation.
• This both amuses and irritates Gavus. It’s essentially like, “Raven, I know you hate Morgana but can we focus for a second??”. The amusement moreso comes from the fact at least one of them holds enough hatred in their heart for both of them for that woman, thank you Eugene.
• Lastly, Lucilla. Lucilla’s feelings are extremely simplified: Morgana = Conrad. Conrad = Bad, Hate that guy. Morgana = Bad, Hate that girl. She understands there’s more nuance to it for Liberta and Gavus, she’s not dumb, and she can, to an extent, recognize where Liberta is coming from. However, it frustrates her a lot whenever she hears words in Morgana’s defense, from Celestials or otherwise. It’s awful, terrible. Just what about Morgana needs defending? What could possibly be so good about her? She doesn’t get it. She doesn’t get any of it.
• Pretty much, the overall opinion as a family is, well, it’s complicated. Her actions run a bit deeper because of her emotional hold on two of their family members, and Conrad at least made it easy by acting like he doesn’t care (because, well, he doesn’t! Mans is as straight forward as he sounds: he just wanted power and destruction.), but Morgana? Morgana acted like she cared, and maybe she did at one point. For Gavus. Maybe she cared a lot about Gavus, and maybe she got attached to Liberta as well. But it doesn’t erase what she did, just simply complicates it further for the ones she hurt, because they loved her.

wait has someone else talked ab whether stampede vash's dark undercut is just an aesthetic decision or if there's more to it because he did not have dark parts before Eriks Era in the manga but his dark undercut advanced way earlier even before July.
the dark undercut only happened when he was at least a teenager.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two screencaps from Trigun Stampede with kid Nai and Vash. They have mirroring bowlcuts, and the undercut matches the color of their upper hair. Vash is blonde and Nai's hair has a lighter color than his. In the first image they are wearing birthday hats and laughing. In the second image they sit on the grass with Rem, joking to each other. End ID]
Look! All blonde! What about teenage Vash and Knives?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Screencaps from Trigun Stampede. First image is of a teenage Knives. His blonde almost white hair is slicked back, revealing his undercut which has the same color as his upper hair. Second image is of a teenage Vash pressing his hands and face together with a red plant, separated by the glass containing the plant. The backside of his undercut has dark brown color, unlike his light blonde upper hair. End ID]
so something happened between the great fall and Home. could it be that the dark hair is the side effect of healing plants? since it *is* a power of vash that was deemed special aside from being a gate to another dimension?
and you know who is really great at preserving his power in the manga that it only turned black bit by bit in the later volumes?
Tumblr media
[ID: Screencap of Knives from Trigun Stampede in the water containing Vash and the plants. His hair is exactly the same from when he was a teenager. End ID]
this fucking guy.

In the steady buzz of flies the homeward-bound agent was lying finished and insensible; the other, bent over his books, was making correct entries of perfectly correct transactions; and fifty feet below the doorstep I could see the still tree-tops of the grove of death.

@fellmother replied to your post:
{THE ESSAY. HAND IT OVER🫱}
[ I think I ought to get around to actually Making A Cool Essay About It because what I find most interesting about Valentian Succession itself (and the fact that people apparently miss it in their quest for wanting it to have Victorian Misogyny for some reason) is that the biggest and strongest example for how it works is Rudolf. He wasn't even the previous emperor's younger son or nephew or anything, he was like the cousin three(?) times removed at that point... but he just happened to have a brand, so Duma thought he was cooler than Rigel IV.
Aside from the fact both Zofia and Rigel were pretty much hyperfocused on who had a brand to pick the next ruler, there's also Mathilda and Clair to consider when people say Victorian Misogyny is real? The only reason Clive and Fernand oppose Clair becoming a part of the Order of Knights was because she was their widdle baby(and not the firstborn), not because she was a girl, or she wouldn't have been able to enlist at all if Women Couldn't Serve. Nobility had a responsibility to serve the crown in military service, sure, but only like the first child was mandatory (like Mathilda/Clive/Fernand) and they only had to serve a few months of the year (barring wars and emergencies), REGARDLESS of their gender. It was their right as to them being nobles. ]

{something about my vash that's a little fun to me: my vash is. painfully aware of how many people he hurts by NOT killing people too. and my man is like. maybe i should be ok with killing. at least a little bit. even if it means i'm a massive disappointment to rem especially now.}
{as if rem isn't eventually gonna see how beat up one of her baby boys is and be like 'i never meant for you to let people hurt you like this' and possibly also be down with murder.}

sometimes I think about how jere and his dad don’t have a good relationship. from a young age, it’s always been conrad and his dad, with their dad only really paying attention to conrad. jere’s never been encouraged or congratulated or pushed to do anything and if both him and conrad did good in something, mr. fishers attention would be solely on conrad. he doesn’t blame conrad for this at all but he wishes he had the same relationship with his dad as conrad had growing up and not just being a last thought. it’s why he took it so hard when Susannah died. because the only person he had in his corner had now gone and he was alone.

didn't realise that the summer I turned pretty season 2 was still going lmaoo. I finished episode 6 and was like well damn I guess this is it. here we go again ig
#the problem with this series is that it is too set in todays time#but the books are so so 2010 coded and it kind of ruins the whole vibe#even the little choices of adding in modern music.. idk man. like my Jeremiah has never heard of Ariana grande and I know this in my heart#its so. Netflix originalified#and I know we will look back in 10 years to cringe at this bc even now I am cringing at it#and then the casting. that's a whole separate issue#she really said Conrad was 'dark dark dark' and they made him barely a brunette (can you use brunette for men? many have been wondering)#and Jeremiah isn't even properly blond like can we commit to the bit please. be serious about this im not even playing#bc they could have dyed their hair its not even that deep#I like belly at least like I look at her and I think yeah that could be belly#and Taylor as well actually. not in season 1 but her season 2 hair I believe it can be her#the only good thing they changed is making Jeremiah bisexual#and also I think the characters aren't obsessed with each other how I thought they should be after reading the books#the stakes are simply not that high when in the books it was like life or death for belly to get Conrad to notice her#ALSO not enough flashback scenes to their childhood#I don't even care ab this like that but it's just the principle of the thing! like it could have been great and they fumbled it completely#I need to have some kind of input in these things they should hire me as a creative director 😤#also I came here to say that Jeremiah is wearing an outfit I have worn many times before but I got sidetracked
