Recently discovered an author I enjoy on ao3 blocked me, and I respect the hell out of that decision (curate your own fandom experience!!) but I’m soooooo curious about what I did. We had a couple pleasant interactions when I commented on some of their fics ages ago? Otherwise we haven’t interacted 🤔

two messages for the people who are determined to interpret everything phil says to sunny in the worst light possible

he's not a mind reader. if he says something that hurts them, it's not with the intent to hurt them. because he is not a mind reader and he is not intending to hurt them, he will continue behaving in his typical manner to them until someone (IN CHARACTER DO NOT TTS HIM) tells him not to. he is a boundary respecting king if he knows what those boundaries are but he does need to be told them. right now, his intent is to reassure sunny that it's not their fault tallulah doesn't like them. if that's not how sunny feels like he's coming across, he doesn't know about it.

sunny is not shy about telling their papa when something is wrong. tubbo is not shy about telling phil when something is wrong. tubbo has not made any effort whatsoever to tell phil that something is wrong. please open your heart to the possibility that something can bother You, Dear Reader and not bother sunny. we don't have a good idea of what the eggs are thinking unless they tell us. just because you interpret sunny's body language as them being upset at phil doesn't mean they're actually upset at phil

this is qommunication smp. communication requires actually communicating. phil is doing his best to communicate to sunny that it's not their fault tallulah doesn't like them while also respecting tallulah's boundaries. stop treating him like an evil stepmother because you think sunny is uncomfortable and neither sunny nor her parent are bothering to let phil know.

Gonna say it here too but Wei Wuxian has nothing to be sorry for regarding Nightless City.

He tried to speak but they refused to listen.

He was attacked first, defended himself, and was condemned for it.

They wanted to kill not only him, but all the innocent people he was protecting as well.

People blaming him for the ensuing slaughter when his mind broke upon Jiang Yanli’s sacrifice (which was ALSO not his fault like c’mon???) make no sense to me.

They pushed him to it.

They spit on the sacrifices of Wen Qing and Wen Ning.

They refused to hear him out and decided he was done for before Jin Zixuan even died, let’s be real.

(And no, 3000 cultivators did not die at Nightless City. Wei Wuxian straight up questions the absurdity of such a high number himself.)

I don’t know, I’ll probably delete this, but it boggles my mind when people hold this against Wei Wuxian when he was the one attacked.

So I don't know if it was ever revealed how Duncan felt when we killed Malistaire all three times but I'm wondering if maybe some part of him could hate us for that too. Like you hear that and you go "but why. Malistaire was terrible and even Duncan knew that(?). Why would he hate you for getting rid of him."

But like I think it's so....... interesting in a very, very, very sad way how Duncan so easily latches onto anyone who directly feeds into his delusions of grandeur. And that's no fault of his own that he was manipulated by the nasty Schism but when you think about how desperately clung to the idea that Malistaire, easily one of the greatest necromancers any of us had ever heard of (at that time), somehow actually recognized Duncan's talents (even when canon supports that Duncan wasn't all that talented, at least no more than the next necromancer) and then praised him for it so often that Duncan believed that he would be the next Death Professor is. I mean ☹️

So like with that mindset I unfortunately feel like it would be quite easy to twist even Malistaire's death as something that's horrible and awful and all our fault. ESPECIALLY if the Schism was feeding into Duncan's already broken mind and shattered ego and was constantly telling him that everything bad that ever happened to him ever in his life was Our Fault. That's like a realistic conclusion that someone like Duncan could come to

And like, at this point in time, are Malistaire's crimes even a factor in how he thinks????? Was Duncan ever able to separate Malistaire's talent and skills and prowess from the terrible and awful things he did? If Duncan wasn't able to consciously tell that distinction in the first place I can't imagine it would be any better during the years he was being manipulated and isolated and lied to

Like in Duncan's mind it probably isn't, "maybe I shouldn't idolize a national criminal, or idolize anyone at all for that matter, and aspire to be like someone so harmful when I can recognize my own talent and build from there" it's probably more like, "you (the wizard) permanently got rid of a brilliant mind, an innocent person who just made a few mistakes, and someone who believed in me no matter what just so that you could be the better than me and loved by everyone else" and that's! very sad actually!

sorry but i really really do Not like the ideas people have of sonic actually liking amy back and being too shy to admit it. or that sonic SHOULD agree to be amys boyfriend because amy "deserves it after waiting for so long" and by not doing that sonic is mean or immature or leading her on. or that yeah sonic isnt interested Now but they Will get married as adults. or whatever people go around saying.

for the entire time amy was actually open about her crush and trying to get sonic to date her he would almost always either outright reject her or just not say anything but still obviously be uncomfortable or annoyed by it. to say that he actually has always liked her or that he Should like her just feels like youre saying his feelings of not being interested in amy or romance in general arent valid and are a problem that needs to be fixed. that he MUST be with amy just because she likes him and he needs to get over any discomfort he has with the idea because he doesnt have a choice. its like people are so obsessed with shipping that theyre ignoring sonics feelings or at the very least prioritizing amys over his . Actually concerning lately how many hostile comments I have seen about queer women in kpop circles on here and twitter that are kind of framed through the guise of statements you can't really argue with like 'idols are real people' and 'idols deserve privacy' but with a tone that just shows how much people hate queer women more than they care about idols being real people and their privacy. Like I will see people say things about female idols like 'Women attractor!!' And then when a queer woman actually says something about being attracted to them they'll log on like woah now idols are real people you shouldn't sexualize what if she sees that and gets uncomfortable by the possibility of a woman being attracted to her :( Or female idols will be on stage kissing each other on the mouth and if a queer woman says anything along the lines of how they're just like us people will be like woah now!! Hot take but I just read a long post about someone being so upset and angry about the way the other people on empires treat Jimmy Solidarity (pranks, making fun of him, ect) and people in the replies were agreeing and talking about how distraught it makes them and all I can say is you should really stop watching his/others' Empires videos if its making you that upset because I can guarantee that its all in good fun and the man is having a perfectly okay time. He's having fun with his friends, they just like to rag on him. My friends like to rag on me too and it's totally fine, I enjoy it. You're projecting and you're, like, WAY too invested if it's upsetting you like that. You're turning him having fun with his friends into something it's not.
