(A short ‘roomate!joel miller’ thought that has been rattling around in my brain)
You couldn't wait to get out of here. Out of the renovated gymnasium-turned-shelter. The cots pushed so close together that you could barely breathe.
It was always like this, the crowds of people coming in waves. Ushered to the one of the few set up around the QZ, taking up every last inch of space.
There were only a few ways out. Many of them you didn't want to think about - like the pit in the middle of the city that was always smoldering.
But, if you were really lucky - you might get picked for housing. Which is where you were now, fingers and toes crossed. Ration cards in your hands as you watched the few apartments you could afford dwindle down. A lottery system, feeling just as hopeless as the ones before, in a different world.
Soon, it was down to one. Just a small, shabby thing. A small group of people around you - but somehow, you hear your own name being called.
A sharp, rough curse soon following, muttered behind you. You turn towards the voice, and then freeze. Because you know it.
Joel Miller.
A lot of people in the QZ knew him. The people he ran with, even though they had not been in Boston long.
"Split it with me." You murmur, low enough that only he can hear. Not sure why you say it. Maybe because he helped you - though you're sure he doesn't remember it. Maybe because you feel bad for him.
Either way, it's too late to take it back now.
"Don't need your charity." He grits, a tick to his jaw. Pissed - and you get it.
"I know what it's like." You press, your voice hushed, "Anything is better than staying here."
Knowing the worry that your things will be stolen, during the day, or while you sleep. That you cot will be taken, that you'll end up on the splintered floor again. After months spent sleeping next to a hundred strangers, an acquaintance would be nothing.
Yes, the apartment was small - a one-bedroom. But it was a castle compared to this. And after all this time, you still weren't heartless.
He scoffs, barely audible - and then goes silent for a long time. Thinking it through, as you pretend to count the rations, the paper crinkling in your hands.
Your voice is called again.
Giving him one final glance as you turn, muttering a low, "Take it, or leave it."
He scowls.
He takes it.

So…I have a question.
Do you guys think the whole “Hunter being nervous about being a Grimwalker” plot line is over? Or no?
Because like, it was touched on in FtF. We have confirmation that Gus knows, which a lot of us suspected already.
But we don’t really know for sure if Willow knows what a grimwalker is. And she was absent during that whole conversation soooo…
Is that plotline going to be fully resolved in the finale? It seemed like they were really building it up in both CotH and TtT.
And we had this shot:
…which highly implies that Hunter is worried the most about Willow finding out and how she’d react, similar to how Luz is probably most worried about Amity finding out.
So … are we going somewhere with this? Is this going to be one of the many things wrapped up in the finale?
What do you guys think?
