I’ve been reading a lot of posts where people talked about watching Yuri On Ice for the first time back when it was airing in 2016 and it really feels so heartwarming and heartbreaking because can you imagine loving a series so much and being there for it from the start only for it to get cancelled.
I watched YOI for the first time back in mid or late 2019 (don’t remember very clearly), after a friend on tumblr urged me to watch it and it just altered my brain chemistry. I watched the whole thing in a day. And then I proceeded to re watch it very soon. I was obsessed. As a baby gay who was still struggling a lot with their sexuality, never comfortable with the labels, the pronouns, all the nuances and always thinking how do I fit myself into this Queer cardboard box with neat little labels, that show rocked my shit.
Viktor and Yuri didn’t need any labels. There was no grand coming out scene, no need to fight against the world for their love and no struggle with their inner self about wtf am I doing or am I right or wrong. They literally just skated and did their work but they fell in love side by side and it was so so beautiful for me.
A part of me was also dismayed because the kiss scene was censored. The touches, the love they showed was subtle. I felt that this meant many could brush them off as friends. That maybe, just maybe, the love wasn’t as strong and maybe I was just deluding myself. It was only after I rewatched it yesterday after years, I realized how wrong I was to think that. And that in turn helped me realize the progress I’d made in my journey to accept my own queerness. Love is not about grand romantic gestures. It’s about being there for each other and lifting each other up and not caring about how the world perceives you. Especially so in queer relationships. It doesn’t matter how some people might perceive Viktor and Yuri as old pals, we know that they are in love.
They don’t have to be incredibly loud. That love is abundantly clear when Yuri asks Viktor to coach him till he retires and Viktor oh so sweetly replies that he hopes Yuri never retires. It’s clear when Yuri changes a jump in the China Cup to show his love for Viktor. It’s clear when Viktor decides to be with Yuri every step of the way from his journey from the rock bottom to the Runner Up of the Grand Prix Final.
We call everything on this ice love and oh YOI you’ll forever be iconic for giving us queers so much love.

The Gateway To Gen Z Consumers (And How It Differs From Millennials)
By Zach Morrison, Tinuiti
Tumblr media
Millennials and Gen Z consumers have over $200 billion in buying power, but to effectively market to both generations it’s important to know how they differ from each other, including what they buy and how they shop.
Gen Z: Shopping And Buying Behavior
Generation Z ranges in age from 4 to 22 years old. They have never lived in a world without computers (a.k.a. instant access to vast information at all times). Forget three-way calling; they have never used a landline. Instead, they Facetime friends in video group chats after school. My own son, who at the age of six falls into this demographic, conducts research on everything from the solar system to Transformers on his iPad to creating his birthday list on the Amazon app, not to mention watching others play video games on the Google hub in our kitchen (note, he’s never heard of Twitch).
But more than being tech savvy, Gen Z consumers (especially those with buying power) are savers and bargain shoppers who also value convenience and efficiency.
Today, Gen Z shoppers are looking for the things that a high school or college student needs most, like casual apparel or inexpensive basics for a dorm room or their first apartment.
The rate of innovation is rapidly moving for this age group, and retailers looking to reach Gen Z would be wise to invest in digital advertising, as many Gen Z consumers actually like online banner ads and appreciate the proactive and personalized experience they bring to advertising.
What’s really interesting is that Gen Z consumers shop in different ways from previous generations, and many of these ways do not include technology. Surprised?
Instagrammable Experiences For Gen Z At Brick-And-Mortar Stores
That’s right; Gen Z likes to document everything in their lives — from what they eat for lunch to where they buy their shoes — leading Gen Z consumers to return to the physical retail locations that Millennials left for online shopping. As they shop, they take photos of cool sightings around the store and hold polls on social media for what to buy. They also Google for coupons, check their email for promotions and read reviews about products as they consider buying them in the aisle.
Gen Z Strongly Prefers Amazon And Brand Name Web Sites Or Online Shopping.
Although they enjoy physical stores, they also really like to shop on Amazon and brand name web sites for fast and free shipping and apparel basics. And when compared to other age groups, Gen Z consumers purchase from name brand web sites like Chubbies and Bombas instead of multi-brand web sites like JCPenney by a 10% margin.
Millennials: Shopping And Buying Behavior
When you think about a Millennial, you may picture an entitled intern taking selfies and wasting their paychecks on $5 designer lattes and avocado toast; I’m here to tell you that you’re wrong. Millennials (ages 23-38) span 15 years that include college grads with one to two years’ work experience all the way up to homeowners with two children and a C-level title. That allows for a fairly diverse range of shopping habits and needs.
Shopping trends often follow the consumer through their life stages. As such, Millennials are buying work clothes and baby products in increasing numbers over casual attire. But beyond life moments, these shopping habits also can be attributed to digitally native brands that sell those types of products, like Etsy and Bugaboo for strollers.
The rise of digital shopping experiences and services has fueled the love affair Millennials have with online shopping and e-Commerce. Above all else, they shop online and free, fast shipping is the new expectation, not the value-add service it used to be.
Millennials Are Buying Clothes On Instagram, Snapchat And Other Online Channels
According to a recent study, over 70% of participants self-identified as Millennials have made a purchase from one of two social media outlets in the past couple of months — compared to less than one third of Gen Zers. This is important for e-Commerce retailers to note as up-and-coming generations are leaning on technology in this way, as well as a nudge to invest in visually appealing digital media to attract buyers in these age groups.
If Millennials Must Shop In A Store, They Will Go To Big Box Brands Like Jet And Target
These legacy brands are still trusted by Millennials, presenting an array of options as well as an online and mobile experience. These stores also offer convenience in location and a variety of clothing, housewares and groceries all under one roof.
Although Amazon may be the apparel web site of choice for younger shoppers, most age groups are browsing and buying clothing across multiple shopping channels, which speaks to the need for brands and retailers to invest in a strategic multi-channel strategy to engage with apparel shoppers across multiple touch points.
To reach Gen Z consumers (and their growing wallets), brands must be willing to build visibility across multiple channels. That could mean improving the functionality and features of an e-Commerce web site on desktop and mobile, investing in premium content (if that brand is selling on Amazon), creating unique physical store experiences like pop-up shops and implementing a paid media strategy to scale traffic to each.

02:40 PM Prabhudas Lilladher on SBI "SBI’s core performance was better off than expectations on the back of higher other income, led by continued strong recovery from W.off a/c, decent NII and relatively good opex control. Earnings were dented on the back of sharp provision rise based on ageing of certain legacy NPAs in the NCLT List -1 taking PCR to around 100 per cent. Also, asset quality improved on the back of lower slippages (Rs 79.6 billion or 1.6 per cent of loans) v/s expectations and also incorporating few of the recent stress names. Going ahead, higher recoveries & lower slippages should improve asset quality, while better PCR of +60 per cent (70 per cent on corporate book and 93 per cent on NCLT) should translate to normalization in credit cost, helping improve return ratios. 01:53 PM Prabhudas Lilladher on Larsen & Toubro "We maintain our BUY recommendation on L&T on the back of its strong business model with robust order book, diverse skill sets, strong execution capabilities and increased focus on improving return ratios by exiting non-core assets. L&T delivered good set of numbers in 4QFY19 with PAT of Rs38 billion, up 14 per cent YoY. Revenues were up 11.1 per cent YoY led by growth in Infrastructure, Hydrocarbon (mainly international) and Services businesses. EBITDA margins came in at 12.5 per cent, down 80bps YoY. Margin miss was mainly due to upfront booking of cost and lower revenue booking due to projects not achieving threshold. The overall order inflow for FY19 was up 16 pre cent YoY with domestic order inflow up 11 per cent YoY and international up 30 per cent YoY. NWC reduced by 200bps YoY at 18 per cent in FY19 over FY18 and management has to remain between 15-18 per cent going ahead. RoE at the end of FY19 came in at 15.3 per cent compared to 14.1 per cent in FY18. The company has guided for revenue growth of 12-15 per cent, EBITDA margin (ex-services) 10.5% and similar number in FY21. Order inflow guidance of 10-12 per cent which will be mainly driven by Infrastructure and Hydrocarbon mainly in the overseas markets. It expects strong ordering momentum to start from 2QFY20 onwards. The company continues to focus on its strategic plan of achieving profitable growth and improving RoE in medium term. 01:30 PM Edelweiss on Kalpataru Power Last close: Rs 460
Target price: Rs 575
Recommendation: Buy Kalpataru Power (KPP) exited FY19 with yet another beat (10% on EBITDA) driven by healthy execution (up 30% YoY) in Q4FY19, especially in the non-T&D business. Management has been focusing on unbundling of balance sheet. It has now categorised transmission BOOT assets as assets held for sale, implying imminent exit. Despite 24% top-line growth in FY19, KPP was able to pare net debt by Rs 2bn led by collection efficiency and proceeds from Thane real estate sale. The company is ideally placed to clock 15% EPS CAGR over FY19-21E with potential balance sheet restructuring triggers. Maintain ‘BUY’ with revised TP of Rs 575 (earlier Rs 540) as we roll forward to September 2020. Maintain KPP as our top pick in the T&D EPC space.

What are your opinions/ships for Wally??? Like OTP and BrOTP wise
//ooc:
I feel like I’ve talked about my ships and OTP’s before, so I’ll go into more detail now. I’ll also go into more detail about his friendships which I never do. There is a lot below this read more and I’m sorrynotsorry about it.
OTPs-
birdflash:
This is my all time top ship ever in anything. I’m not sure if it’s because I rp as Wally or I just see them being really good together.
Dick/Wally are whole-hearted dedicated individuals who would love the shit out of each other. They both bring the best out of each other while being able to support each at their worst and being able to handle that with grace. This probably comes from their years as friends and teammates. They both know that the other is loyal and exceptionally talented and could see the potential of the other. However, they have their flaws (stubbornness, competitive nature, etc.), which makes them more like a real couple. Overall, their relationship would be a very healthy, loving, and supportive one.
Further, Dick and Wally need each other to remain true to themselves as people. There are plenty of platonic canon moments in the comics where they call each other out for this. Quite frankly, it makes sense because with their similar experiences as being heroes from a young age and having mentors. I think I unlike some of the other Teen Titans and Titans, Dick and Wally are more pressured into roles to take over for their mentors for legacy reasons. “There always needs to be a Batman, he’s a symbol,” and “There always needs to be a Flash to protect Central and keep the League honest”. It came with the territory of being the sidekicks. So, the two get caught up in this loop and when they do they have each other. For Wally, Dick has to remind him he’s not Barry–whom Wally idiolizes/idolized–and that he’s competent and capable of handling things on his own. That Wally can be Wally West and a successful Flash. Where for Dick, Wally has to remind him that he isn’t Bruce and doesn’t have to be to accomplish whatever he’s trying to accomplish as either Nightwing or Dick Grayson. He also reminds Dick that feelings are nice and that he cannot function like Bruce, so he has to do things his own way. Further, Wally would support Dick being Nightwing or Batman or whoever he chooses to be and that he doesn’t have to take up the Batman mantle if he doesn’t want to. There are other people to do it and there can be a Gotham with heroes that doesn’t include a Batman. While the similarities of their situations are fundamentally the same, the nuances are different. This makes for a really good dynamic.
Aside: For any of you who have watched Yuri on Ice!, Dick/Wally remind me a lot of Victuuri. I know some of you might think me a heathen to compare my non-canon ship to a canon one, but it has a lot of good parallels and like I said, that’s how I see Dick and Wally being as a couple in my mind. The other reason I compare the two ships or see birdflash as Victuuri is because of the world YOI is set in. Literally no one cares Victor and Yuri are gay and everyone cares for them and loves them, in my head I see this for Dick and Wally. No one cares they are gay and everyone in their lives and in the world is like “that’s so sweet, they belong together”. But this is more of a social commentary and less of a headcanon-y one. Still I think the representation of YOI with canon gay characters who represent different cultures and are fully developed characters without their “gayness” being the main attribute. I think this is an important thing to mention, as I see both Dick and Wally being in love but never having being gay as a defining characteristic of themselves or their relationship. It’s just a matter of who they love (which is honestly how the real world should work…but I digress).
Last thing about this ship and why I ship it: the friends to lovers trope is a) my life and b) cute af. @theacro-bat
Linda/Wally:
I feel bad I don’t know their official ship name, but oh well. I don’t only ship these two because their canon, but I ship them for how genuine their relationship is. Linda gets Wally to grow up a lot and to being such an ass; Wally gets her to be more fun and spontaneous. Most of all, they love each other to pieces and would (and probably have) died for each other. They are my favorite DC power couple, and I don’t think they’ve ever broken up (I might be wrong about that, I don’t consume ALL the comics). They have a lot of depth and character development within and because of their relationship that benefits them both.
I don’t have too much else to say here because you can read the comics or about them. I don’t need to justify a canon couple, they’re canon.
The biggest difference between Dick/Wally and Linda/Wally is the making him grow up part. I don’t think Dick would push it that much and just accepts and/or excuses that part of him. Dick would probably figure that something else would happen to force him into growing as a person and he doesn’t necessarily feel the need to do it. Linda, on the other hand, whips Wally’s butt into shape and pretty much tells him he has to grow up to handle his problems (she does this constructively of course). But like I said, that’s the biggest difference.
BRotps-
Wally and pretty much anyone and everyone. Although, I’ve written some about each closer friendship he’s had.
Dick/Wally:
I know you’re done reading about these two, so I’ll make this brief. Copy and paste the above but instead of being romantically involved they are platonic. I will say this about their friendship, they are both touchy with each other, not sexually but support-wise. They hug, do the head-to-shoulder, and shoulder touching. They’re cool. @theacro-bat
Roy/Wally:
Aside from being redheads, Wally loves Roy to death and will probably never give up on him. Roy could scream at him and Wally would still come back. They may not be best friends like Dick and Wally are, but that doesn’t undermine their closeness. Wally remains close to Roy to the point that Lian refers to him as an uncle, so that says something about their relationship.
Jinx/Wally:
Okay this one is more complicated, but sort of my favorite. I know I don’t rp a TT Wally, but that doesn’t change how much I love them. From teenagers to adults, the two went from being a couple to being best friends. They are the most platonic lovers you will ever see and meet. Because of their history, they know a lot about each other but continue to grow that relationship into a better bond that often surpasses the definitions of romantic and platonic. Wally will always be there to support and listen to Jinx. It’s highly probable if not a true fact that these two would live together because they both hate being on their own and they can “tolerate”–in Jinx’s words–each other’s company. Wally doesn’t mind her behavior and she doesn’t mind his eating and running around all the time. Their relationship is really beneficial for the both of them. They put up with each other in a way that only best friends can and they can be in the same room without the need to talk. Jinx also sort of fills Wally’s need to be a caretaker and den-mother. I genuinely believe they love each other.
If you want to compare this to a canon companionship, I cite Dick and Donna. @lucklessprincess
Shayera/Wally: Unlike his other close friendships and relationships, these two are sort of the most “brotp” of the bunch. Shayera and Wally would hang out to get into trouble and send memes back and forth to each other. (Shayera is officially meme queen in his phone.) Despite Shay being a highly skilled warrior, she’s still a person with a sense of humor which Wally can compliment nicely by either acting as the thing she is making fun of, or being her comedic partner. In this way they are a lot like siblings with Shayera as the older sister. Wally and Shay are probably the closest fun friendship in the Justice League. Even though their friendship is mostly humorous and joking in tone, they care for each other immensely (like siblings). Shayera cares a lot more for Wally then she’ll admit and Wally thinks she’s worth everything even though he’ll never say it. That’s why she is the one who pulled Wally out of the Speedforce and he’s the one who believed in her/forgave her after the Thanagarian invasion. @masic-bxtch
