Hello your magical girl story looks really intriguing, the premise feels very creative, the art style is simple but good with its own identity, and the characters seem to be fleshed out with depth, personality, and backstory. In short, I love it, and I do have a few questions.
One: Is the story character driven, story driven, or something else
Two: Is the story rated G, PG, PG-13, or something else
Three: Would the story be a web comic, web show, or something else
Four: Will there be a lot of lore and world building, yes or no
Five: what other inspirations did you have for the story's characters, plot, and art style
Six: What humor do you use for the story
I'm only asking these questions out of curiosity. This is just because I love your story, and would like to know more about.
So please be free to not answer all the questions if you want. I'm also fine if you ignore this ask. so please, no pressure.
At the end of the day, please have fun, relax, work hard, take your time, and have a nice day.
I'm so glad! Thanks so much for your interest <3
Character driven (always)
PG/PG-13
Dunno! I've been reached out to already for a few opportunities but right now, I'm just trying to have fun with it and keep it mine until I feel like the idea is fully realized and ready for something bigger. Right now, I'm shooting to make a lil pilot animatic mostly on my own with help from a few friends
Depends on what you mean by a lot but I'd say a soft yes
For Aika, just generally other anime protagonists from shoujo and shonen. I feel like when you're doing a spin on something you do have to rely on the tropes from the genre at least a little bit. For Zira, Toko Fukawa was the jumping off point but they're very different. They're also both based off of aspects of myself (I feel like most artists do this with their ocs tho). Style and story-wise, I was definitely looking at Doremi and Panty&Stocking. That chunky cute look that's distinctly anime but takes some notes from Western cartoons. But mine's flipped where it's more based on my own style from working in Western animation but then having anime influence. And story-wise I like how they're more episodic with an underlying story. The magical girl stuff is more a backdrop that helps the story move forward and enhances the slice of life stuff that's being focused on.
I'm not sure what kind of humor to say other than my own? But my sense of humor has been shaped by Big City Greens (obviously) Adventure Time, Jimmy Neutron, Bob's Burgers, Smiling Friends and many other things but hopefully that gives you the gist

whenever someone mentions how different charles sounds in his three languages (french, italian, english) i think about a comment i read where he probably learned them all differently. like french he is obviously the most natural and eloquent because that’s his first language and the one he speaks most frequently with his friends and family, then italian he sounds a bit more professional and technical because he learned it through karting and mastered it probably through ferrari, and he probably picked up english to communicate with other competitors and do interviews, which is why he always sounds more friendly and ‘media-trained’ in a sense, and he probably had to appeal to sponsors to get them to look at him and support him.
like it’s funny but also endearing to me as a trilingual because i sound aggressive in my first language, shy in my second one, and then confident in english because that’s how i learned them (aggressiveness through my family, shyness because of living in a crowded city, and then confident because i learned english through professional speakers 😭)
Oh Charles def has been PR trained to within an inch of his life!! imo though he actually sounds quite chill and casual in Italian as well, both in interviews and the bits and pieces I've seen in his vlogs, it's definitely a language he uses with some of his friends (I don't doubt they use it at work as well, but the official workplace language remains English).
So imo there's a difference between how he sounds in French/Italian (very much A Dude) and then in English he's either, like, very media trained OR kinda... whimsy, idk. A bit more dramatic? I feel like it started during his twitch streamer era (and his "casual" english really improved 2020 and 2021). I cannot exactly describe it but he sounds so damn manic in English
IDK, just comparing these two different PR videos where he gets very handsy and very giggly with his teammate but one of them is from the Prema days another one is from 2023. The way he introduces himself in the first video vs the second video... "hello everyone" vs "HELLO!!! EVERYONE!!!"
dunno if I'm making any sense but I think his streamer era left a mark.
Anyway I totally feel you about shifting personalities with languages... WHO hasn't been there!! relatable for us as well as Charles

During my nearly 20 years in different fandoms, I've come to notice that usually the bigger the fandom, the more fandom wank it has. It's only natural, I guess, because the fandom base is so big, so there are bound to be many kinds of people in the mix. And sometimes those people don't mix well and you get fandom wank. Sad, but true.
Not to say that smaller fandoms are fandom wank free, either. They can be even worse if there's, for example, a clique that's decided something is fanon, ergo it is now the Law of That Fandom™.
Yeah, that’s the way the proverbial cookie crumbles - alas, wank is inevitable and has existed as long as fandom has. My issue is that these days it appears to be dominant in so, so many new(ish) fandoms, regardless of size or obscurity (but especially in the larger groups). And it’s all vitriolic as hell - callouts, bad faith arguments, character hate, ship hate, driving people out, little bit of column a, little bit of column b, the list goes on. Definitely not the kind of party I’m personally looking for in my fandom experience

Preston x Danse is the only companion ship I think would actually work because Preston’s inner turmoil is sort of a loss of faith in himself due to the traumatic experiences he’s faced while Danse is looking for something to have faith in and would find the fact that despite the desire to give up Preston held out so long not just for the honor of the Minutemen but because he had some hope.
It would 100% start off as a lotta unhealthy on Danse’s side as I believe he completely lacks the emotional intelligence (due to a combination of factors) to recognize the he’s feelings as anything but a sort of respect for a superior along with leaning too much into Preston as a substitute for the BoS. Preston may not really have a title but he’s like THE Lieutenant of the Minutemen. Realistically he’s the only companion Danse would probably be comfortable taking instructions from especially for how trusted Preston is by the Sole Survivor and his adherence to military standards despite how unstructured the Minutemen are. It would be him waiting for orders, approval, anything from Preston and he thinks it’s just the desire to have the regiment of the BoS again but he also like when Preston compliments him on being useful or resourceful. He likes the stories of Minuteman glory days and he trades the stories of the BoS that don’t hurt to talk about. He likes the familiarity Preston would provide and he’d be oblivious that it’s not just new found loyalty to the Minutemen.
Yet Preston explains it himself that he’s not a natural leader. He’s not an instructor. He helps manage what the General has put in place and he content on doing that. He relays what needs to be done and does major upkeep but I don’t think he’d know what to do with this guy this literally marches up to him and practically begs for a mission that doesn’t exist. Like the formality and respect is nice but he can tell it’s covering something even if Danse doesn’t.
Danse could go to Sturges for the many repair and upkeep assignments he gives him and has the freedom to go straight to the Castle if he really wants a big mission, but he chooses to come to him everytime. He’s aware enough that Danse only trusts him out of all of the Generals confidantes but it would take a bit for him to understand why. If anything Danse should be strategizing with him as equals seeing as he almost got the Minuteme wiped out and Danse was a Paladin for the Brotherhood with many successes under his belt before Preston even led his first scouting mission. It’s like he sees him as some figure of hope, some one who can come in and add stability. Someone with a fresh outlook who can provide a new perspective for him.
It’s like he sees him like he saw/sees the Sole Survivor but that would be crazy because that would also mean… and then oh, it clicks.
The revelation is both flattering and he doesn’t know what to do with it cause how do you address “I know you respect me but is that the only feeling you have for me?” To the guy who like refuses to rest unless you tell him at ease? He has to reevaluate his whole manner of interaction with Danse cause this is a very slippery slope that he’s sliding down and it’s even more perilous due to Danse’s repressed emotions regarding… everything. There’s an equal chance Danse will try to open up as completely shut down and he’s not just concerned about it cause Sole Survivor cares for him but because he has grown to care for the guy too. It’s not like he doesn’t also enjoy Danse’s company and value as a Minuteman member. He’s not a love at first sight guy but he’s played with the idea, anyone would when you’ve spent nights trading stories, historical facts and beers by the fire in a little home you’ve carved for yourself through literal blood, sweat and tears.
I think it’s one of those cases where it’s agonizingly slow to the actual relationship but neither part are anguished about that. If anything happened to soon Danse would be too dependent and Preston not equipped to handle it. It’s a case where I genuinely think they’d bring out the best in each other cause theyd want to figure out what is best for the other and not just apply what they think is the best. It’s the care that Preston would ask Danse what he wants to do and encourage it and at the same time Danse would be incredulous everytime Preston second guesses himself.
Long story short it’s a good ship to me because it’s just two guys with broken confidences and faith in their roles being each other’s hype man and kissin a little about it.
