Weeeell I technically actually have quite a few collected off to the side throughout the years (don’t think I ever showed all of them off at once on tumblr) but just in case- 👀

Top shelf-wise consists of a few MLP Equestria Girl dolls I got back when they were still trendy (like around 2014-ish), the first of them I bought was the goth-looking Pinkie Pie (I think she was a Target-exclusive?) and then the last one I bought was a second-wave Sunset Shimmer (the big one sitting next to Flash Sentry). I’ve been meaning to get a second wave of Fluttershy, Rarity and/or Pinkie but idk when I’ll be able to or if they’re still available now 😔

Next shelf consists of a few other EQG dolls I bought off and on, along with a first row of Monster High dolls (which I was definitely more hype into buying in that time). My first ever MH doll was the first wave Draculaura and the last one I bought was Kala M’rri from the underwater-themed MH movie (you’ll see her in the very last one since I had no room on the other shelves thanks to her tentacle-tail).

Some other misc. dolls I have include a few Disney Princess dolls (Elsa, Megara and Tiana), and then a random MyScene (Barbie) and Bratz doll (Cloe) I collected at the thrift store once as seen in the second pic below-

I have another Bratz arriving soon and I def plan to get the 20th anniversary (and Rock Angelz) dolls once they drop online too ���� gotta love the classics~

kdrama: penthouse 

i’ve talked a little bit about this kdrama here, but when i tell you i’ve become mildly obsessed with this kdrama...i’ve become mildly obsessed. it’s about these rich families and everything they’re doing to achieve power/stay in power. the characters are all so very complex, and i honestly can’t describe too much more of the kdrama just because it’s so bonkers, but if you like a good revenge plot, this is...def. the kdrama to watch. 

movie: your name 

ngl, i cried a lot watching this movie. like, i think i cried...at least three times? basically, this movie is about these two people who keep waking up in each other’s bodies, and things get even  more complicated from there. this movie really utilizes the japanese myth of the red string of fate, and it’s really lovely. i didn’t think i’d care for it, but i fell in love. also, the soundtrack is amazing. also, just...there’s something so beautiful about two people just being tied together by some twist of fate. very romantic, also very much a coming-of-age story too. i am honestly so blown away by it, not to mention the beautiful animation. 

podcast: me & au 

i’ve talked about this podcast ad nauseum here, but like.......ugh no the way this is literally one of the cutest audio drama podcasts ever. it’s just about two fanfic writing gals, and it’s really cute. also really very gay. also really cute. i literally have listened to the last episode 4 times because i can’t get over how adorable they are. 

documentary: paris is burning 

so i actually watched this documentary for a class, and i’m glad i watched it. this documentary goes into the drag queen scene in 1980s new york. like, idk i don’t really know transgender history, and i feel like it’s just important to learn. i honestly felt kind of sad watching this documentary, mostly because you see a lot of folks talking about their dreams of wealth and comfort, while you, as a 21st century audience member, know that that’s just...really hard for trans folks to procure. there’s some more complicated history behind this documentary, i think, but overall i think it’s an important piece to watch if you want to learn  more about your queer history and also just how the black and latinx community really contributed and made up a lot of the queer world we know today. 

music: oh boy. so much music. 

i mean, y’all know i have to mention fearless (taylor’s version) for the obvious reasons, but i’ve genuinely enjoyed?? this?? version?? i was afraid that it wouldn’t feel the same and that i’d want the nostalgia factor, but like...the nostalgia factor is still there. and taylor’s voice has def. improved, and like,,,now i can’t really listen to the old fearless? mayhaps blasphemous, but i really enjoy taylor’s matured voice, and just hearing her now handle the notes that she might have struggled with as a teenager just makes me :’)) because wow, look at how far she’s come. 

i’ve also been really in love with girl in red’s debut album if i could make it go quiet, again for the obvious reasons. it’s really a wonderful debut album, and i’m so in love with girl in red’s sounds because she can really go from soft and quiet to just hard-hitting, clashing sounds but in a good way? my favorite track has to be did you come? just because of how much it just slaps. it’s bitter, but it’s the kind of bitter that makes you feel like....satisfied. idk how else to explain it lol. i’m also a big fan of midnight love, because it’s quiet, but it’s also...very sad. very much a song you’d listen to at 2 am alone in your bedroom. 

but i guess my fave for the month has to be this lovely playlist of all the classical music in barbie movies, specifically the ballet ones. listen......listen, let me just re-live my childhood, okay? barbie movies slap, actually, and i’m really glad that it got me to appreciate this music more. 

and, last but not least...i’ve been mildly obsessed with from the new world, which is, yes, another classical piece, and yes, it was also in a barbie movie, but it was also used in the kdrama penthouse, and i’ve been mildly obsessed with all of the parts, because ooooh boy, you want to feel like a princess dancing alone in a ballroom as the world burns? you want to feel like you just murdered some elite in their bedroom? bro-- 

and i’ve also talked about this piece, but i’ve been mildly obsessed with vivaldi’s winter, just because...okay yeah no penthouse has somehow renewed my love and interest in classical music, and i’ve already discussed how this piece unleashes some feral feeling inside of me, but like...BRO WHY DOES THIS PIECE SLAP SO HARD. i know this is hardly news and this is hardly a rec because this piece is so well-known, and you’ve most certainly heard it at least once, but like...........no i’m about to become insufferable with my love for classical music again send help

a veterinarian before marrying into the du pont family, reese’s mother had their ranch doubling as both a home and veterinary clinic where the kids would help with the animals and keep them company. this caused reese to develop a soft spot for them, one that contributed to her going vegetarian at the age of 12 and eventually vegan at 15. it was also this love of animals that led her to wanting to help the environment they lived in and so her parents put her in girl scouts and eventually her love for the outdoors would cause her to join steinhardt’s outing club.

while her mother, eleanor, also helps out with the du pont family business of breeding thoroughbreds as well as run her clinic, her father, pierre, is a chairman of dupont, a conglomerate who got its start in the black powder market before expanding into chemicals for agriculture, materials science, and specialty products.

he was the type to have HIGH expectations for his family, expectations that reese never met. not that she cared to. definitely not a daddy’s girl, she’ll be the first one to call her father out for being a pompous douche straight to his face. probably quoted this to her father during a thanksgiving toast of “what are we thankful for this year”.

the black sheep of her family, even at a young age she could be found stirring up some trouble and almost always dragging one of her siblings or cousins along with her. a rebellious child who didn’t like being put into a box, she lived in a fantasy world of whimsy, often playing make-believe much to her father’s chagrin. she believed in all things fantastical from fairies to mermaids and while pierre tried to stifle those thoughts, they stubbornly remained.

even through her teenage years she’s held onto the firm belief that barbie lore is real. no one knows if she actually believes that or if it’s all of the drugs and her love for the movies getting to her head, but when confronted about it she will always be adamant that it’s a legitimate form of history.

speaking of history, her concept of it is slightly skewed?? def has weird beliefs of what communists are?? like you’re an android user??? suddenly she thinks you’re a communist????

i guess now would be a good time to preface that she’s dumb. stupid. an idiot. the list goes on but when i say she’s lacking brain cells… i mean it. the definition of head empty, she probably has a bunch of rocks where her brain should be sdfgh. but really, she can be innovative when she wants to be but academically she just doesn’t care to do well. in high school she ditched classes more often than not and was probably the kid smoking under the bleachers.

but where she lacks in intelligence she makes up for in brawn??? def the brawn over brains type who was a jock in high school. competed for her school’s equestrian team but also was on the fencing and archery teams. she once begged to be put into archery lessons after seeing the princess diaries 2 and fencing just came along not too soon after. she also used to run track and play soccer but those two sports ended after her senior year of high school although she probably still plays for the steinhardt’s intermurral league as well as any athletic competitions her sorority, tri-zeta ( zeta zeta zeta ) enters.

definitely the jack of all trades type except she’s passable at a whole bunch of things but good at none of them. probably can change a tire but it’ll need to be changed again soon. can bake a cake but it’ll be a little dry. the list goes on. she’s just very curious and picks up a lot of things but gets bored of them easily so she changes to the next thing.

speaking of trap zeta, with the exception of fraternities on greek row, they throw the biggest parties. their jungle juice??? fire AND strong but also, they keep it in like....these dispensing chugs with a key so the only ones with access to fill them up or trap zeta themselves. they also have a stripper pole ( or two ) around their living room so like...ya get lit, get twisted, go off ig.

let it be known that their sorority, tri-zeta, is actually known for their stellar amount of community service but after the residents of trap zeta moved in together their sophomore year, the rep for partying started to increase and that’s why the home of muse 46-50 is nicknamed trap zeta. reese has probably been sent to standards way too many times and only got in and is still in bc her mother is a very generous alumni of steinhardt’s chapter of tri-zeta. 

a broadcast communications major, she’s a social media intern for steinhardt’s barstool page but most importantly has a whole tik tok account alongside her roommates dedicated to their college antics. think the hype house except it’s not pg-13 dancing and rly just their crackhead, drunk antics. might eventually make a playlist of tik tok’s that are probably posted on their account, we’ll see.

okay so you know the whole exposing of secrets from last semester??? reese doesn’t usually get mad but rn she Big Mad. like not only are they be scrutinized by the dean but their sorority is too and suddenly tensions are high between tri-zeta bc if trap zeta gets caught they all suffer and their chapter will be shut down and it’ll be a whole ass mess. atm she suspects their customers and even their somewhat rivals, the drug dealers of the ludes plot, but does she suspect anyone from the house??? no not rly

Stranger Things sibling headcanons bc we got so many more awesome sibling stuff!!!

Holly will usually pull Nancy and Mike together to play hide and seek together or do tea parties with her and her dolls.They used to ignore her pre-Upside Down drama - Mike would go to the basement and talk to the kids on the walkie and Nancy would grab the landline, but after what happened they’d always sit and make time for Holly. 

Holly’s given Nancy and Mike a bunch of feather boas and crowns and they’ll sit there for an hour talking fancy and sipping fake tea. Holly also does “makeovers” on Nancy and it usually makes Nancy look like the Joker but Nancy smiles and tells Holly she loves it. 

Steve and Dustin go shopping together now for hair products and clothes. They’ll be absolute dorks and stay like 10 feet away from each other but every now and then Dustin will run up to Steve with 10 shirts in hand asking if they’re cool or not. 

Steve has lowkey also adopted Max as a sister bc we all know Billy ain’t shit. Max tried to teach him how to skate. Steve fell about 10 times but he did a flip and he was proud of himself. 

 Erica is just constantly making fun of Lucas tbh, but when he gets her a whole set of different Barbies, He-Mans, and superhero action figures, she tears up and gives him a huge hug. 

She still calls him a nerd as she hugs him, but she names one of the action figures Lucas and makes sure it’s in pristine condition. 

 Jane comes back to Kali sometimes -  they’ll ride in the van and Kali likes to go super fast and Jane/El will whoop and scream with laughter the entire time. 

Will comes out to Jonathan first. He knows he shouldn’t be nervous but he is, he can barely get it out. But, when Jonathan hugs him and tells him he’s always been amazing, Will knows he’s made the right choice. 

Sometimes, when it’s late and Jane sleeps over, Kali will read her bedtime stories and change the scenery so that El can feel like she’s living out the dream - sometimes it will be dramatic, with a huge dragon fight that will keep her entranced, or sometimes it’s dimmer and glittery like space and quiet, but either way Jane is entranced until she feels sleepy enough to pass out. 

lbr Joyce and Hopper are def getting married so anyway Will and Jane are great friends anyway bc they are both in love with Mike and were in the Upside Down. When one gets nightmares, the other will come into their room and hold their hand or sleep by their side until they fall asleep again. 

Erica found out somehow that Billy had threatened Lucas. She got pissed and asked if Lucas wanted her to fight Billy. Lucas grinned and told her she wouldn’t have to, but the next day Billy Hargrove’s window - and only his window - was spraypainted with a “you suck” over it. 

Jonathan and Jane don’t talk much but he loves taking artsy pictures of her and whenever she sees them she smiles and goes, “Pretty” and it warms Jonathan’s heart. 

Jane finds the Sarah box as well and she takes one of the pictures of Sarah and keeps it by her bed with her other family pictures - she knows she’ll never meet Sarah, but that’s her sister too and El thinks that she loves her even so. 

Mike always, always goes to Nancy with questions about love. Nancy finds this funny bc she hasn’t even figured love out, but she’ll always act wise and give Mike honest answers about what girls usually like and one time Mike brought a notepad and started taking notes and it took everything in Nancy’s power to not laugh. 

Steve, Max, and Dustin will go to the arcade together too. Max and Dustin will usually go ham on the games but a riot almost broke out when Steve broke both Max and Dustin’s high score on Dig Dug. When they asked him how he did it, he just shrugged and went “Uh, I don’t know. I don’t even get how to play this game.” They almost murdered him.

the chant is the first thing on the pre season itinerary and its the last part of the lfc initiation is just a huge chant going around the room and everytime a new lad comes in the chant is started just to make them feel welcome,

Day 40: A Tale of Barbie & Ken

So apparently Barbie and Ken aka RaeLynn and Rob are back together, or at least back to fucking. After Rob called it off once Rae started catching feels and getting jealous she then went and rooted our tour guide Jay, lol that girl... I guess that must’ve made Rob jealous to the point of him eating his words since they’re back on good terms. They’ve been at it all day now, literally just finishing round 3 a few moments ago. What kills me, aside from their on and off again bullshit romance, is the fact that they never ever use condoms. Crikey, It’s 2019 for fucks sake, how hard is it to have protected sex?! It’s like they feel they’re invincible or something but it’s really just idiotic. They’re 26 years old but act like they’re 16, but I can’t even be bothered. Either they’ll get knocked up or pass a few STDs back and forth to each other lol. In other news, Cairo has been unexpectedly incredible. I didn’t know what to expect, I figured it would be all desert, old, with a bunch of pyramids and stuff. I was wrong, there’s so much more to see and do here, Egypt is sweet. Def recommend it..
