#buts thats just a theory. a GAME theory

i’ve seen relationship therapists and psychologists analyse hermione and ron’s relationship and conclude that they wouldn’t work out in the long run. they’ve argued for hermione to be with harry, krum, even DRACO (don’t understand how a counsellor can vow for canon dramione but alright) as an alternative partner for hermione since ron is “too insecure” to be with her and match her intelligent prowess or what have you.

i seriously don’t understand this sentiment. ron and hermione genuinely seem (almost) perfect to me, maybe not in the movies (a common denominator of people who don’t like romione is that they always cite evidence from the movies, since the films took a lot away from ron’s character and his growth), but definitely in the books.

looking at ron’s insecurities, a lot of people dredge his inferiority complex up to toxic masculinity primarily, when it was more explored how it was an effect of his home life (not gonna argue toxic masculinity wasn’t a factor, they’re teenagers in the 90s written by a pretty misogynistic woman so…). he was the youngest son out of how many children? all of his older brothers were brilliant in some way. bill was an extremely gifted spellcaster, charlie was gifted with magical beasts, percy’s academic score was unmatched, and fred and george (despite their trouble) were entrepreneurial inventor-geniuses. ron, on the other hand, was quite literally born a disappointment to his mother, who conceived him specifically because she wanted a daughter, whilst ginny was born her favourite (though, even then, ginny was gifted at quidditch). ron was mediocre in every sense of the word, and his two best friends were harry (one of the most famous wizards) and hermione (the smartest witch of her age yada yada). and i’ve seen people argue that harry was more welcomed by molly into the weasley household than ron ever was. this isn’t even mentioning the amount of bullshit he copped for being poor (people always downplay the blow to confidence being in poverty can have on a person who is constantly surrounded by people who not only have more, but look down on him for simply being unlucky as to not have what they do).

so yeah, ron was an envious kid, but he was that way not because he was an evil patriarchal conception but because he was lowkey neglected. and even then he was overall an extremely devoted and loyal friend to both harry and hermione, because he did genuinely love them.

there were many moments of ron standing up for hermione that was cut from the films, not as a guy who was romantically interested in her, but as a friend. ron arguing with snape for making hermione cry is one of my fav scenes in the books ru kidding me, and in the movies he AGREED with snape RU KIDDING ME. not to mention how ron was a sobbing violent mess when hermione was getting tortured in the last book, whereas he wasn’t nearly as bothered in the films. and the films cut out harry being a dick to ron about his familial concerns (in dh), so when ron left it seemed like a random dickish move over his jealousy towards harry and hermione’s relationship.

there’s also a million moments where they minimised ron’s usefulness in the books for comedic purposes (forbidden forest with aragog, troll scene, devils snare scene) so ron seems dumber than he is. like, he’s actually smart and a really good spellcaster…. in the books.

so simply by stating this most of the arguments against romione become void. “he’s too stupid/weak for her” simply not true. “he’s a terrible friend who doesn’t stand up for her” also not true. “he’s too insecure to have made a move on her,” yes, but given the context i don’t think people would freak on about ron’s upbringing, i think many would be more understanding, especially considering his growth. even if he wasn’t insecure, hermione is beyond incredible and is bound to make anyone nervous when pursuing her (not an excuse for ron to act like a dick, but it does explain a lot where the movies don’t). “they argue too much” they bump heads, none of the arguments they have are actually super damning, with the exception of ron leaving in deathly hallows.

maybe i’ve covered everything (excluding the abhorrent amount of classism that clouds people’s judgments around how they view ron when harping about how hermione deserves better? hopefully).

now, i know people won’t like me mentioning the cursed child, but i’m going to considering we actually get an insight of their life as a longterm married couple there. a lot of ron stans hated how ron was the only character that wasn’t doing something incredible. harry was head of the aurors, ginny was a famous quidditch player retired to a famous journalist, neville was a hogwarts professor, hermione was quite literally minister on magic. and ron…. ran the joke shop with george.

and i think this was almost the perfect route to go down for ron. because he was average, and was perfectly fine with just being average. hello?? that speaks leagues of growth for his character. he’s supportive of hermione’s work, he grounds her when she gets too caught up in being the literal president of wizarding society, and he still viciously defends her, minister or not. in fact, he’s proud to simply be known as hermione’s husband because he doesn’t feel the need to prove to anyone else his worth. the people he loves most know his worth, hermione never downplays or underestimates him, they are complete equals in the relationship in every single way that matters. they kept ron’s best qualities whilst making him seem more of a healed person. they work so well as a married couple without it seeming like mischaracterisation (not to mention the cursed child literally shows how those two are in love in every reality, so there quite literally can’t be a better partner for hermione or ron according to canon).

so i really don’t understand how professional relationship counsellors can go online and denounce it. probs because they only watched the movies, but it’s 2023 and ron stans should not STILL be fighting for their lives trying to defend him from people who simply don’t consume media with as much depth (which is fine, but one should clarify if they’re talking about the movies because i’ve seen people state they’re talking about the hp BOOKS when it’s simply just…. the films). anyways. romione on top, thanks to coming to my ted talk.

Skippy, she didn’t really accomplish much by being there, she will never have a big welcome reception as Prince William and Princess Cathrine ever. Not many people catered towards her, yea she some hugs here with her fake smiling expression. There were a lot of empty seats not too many people showed up as much as in the past. She also got a lot of boos at the end of her Stupid march fiasco in a video I saw, you can hear the boos loudly and she heard it too,( I loved it). My theory is from other comments I read, she wasn’t wanted there, they didn’t want her there, thats why her name was taken off mysteryiously. She saw it and got pissed and went anyway. All she did throughout the circus is make herself look like the biggest old fool that she is.I’m glad she made herself a big fool in front of the world for people to finally see what a selfish, desperate, disrespectful, conniving, nasty, lowdown, shit face she is. If the people allow this to happen again next year and if the vets don’t stand up and speak out against her the indict us sadly will be over and the they won’t have anything to look forward to because she will be there making it about her and not them. It’s time the people stand up against her and push back, that’s what you do with bullies. There more of us than of her and we as the people have to start having our voices heard and not sit around and wait for something to happen. We have the power not her, she has none but we do to push back and stop this sick insanity of hers. We cannot let her enslave us in fear or control by not saying anything, I don’t care what she says, we don’t want to hear or see her anywhere. She almost in her fifty’s and she acts bitter. She seems to be angry at the whole human race on this planet. I noticed she cringes when people hug her like she can’t stand being touched but she touches everyone else. we can’t sit around and wait anymore, to time people rose up and fight back. Everybody is sick of her butting in everything and everyone. I think there is a divorce happening, she put up so much fakeness at the event it was nauseating. So no, she didn’t really make an impact on anything by being there, it just made her look like a selfish old fool that she is and always will be. The invictus better get it together, or there won’t be anymore. No one should be scared of her, she nothing  a nobody. It’s time for our voices to be heard loud and clear. She needs to go. Just my two cents.

drop the akane and komaeda narrative foils rant 👀 much interest to be had here

[busts out my computer] we're gonna need a bigger keyboard.

BASICALLY it started with me realizing that they have really similar designs. or should i say, really DIFFERENT designs? no, i shouldnt, because their designs are similar and different in i think a really deliberate way.

First and most obvious is the hair. they have the SAME DAMN HAIRCUT, but nagitos is light and akanes is dark, and akanes cowlick flips the opposite way. woah whats this? those arent just differences, those are OPPOSITES, highlighted by similarities. that sounds a lot like those things FOILS have, huh? but maybe its a coincidence, lets look at the rest of their designs. oh, whats this? the colors red and white, prominant in both designs? okay, but those are sort of danganronpas colors— oh, huh. I guess they are the danganronpa colors arent they? well, in addition to black— and would you look at that? the other colors in the two designs are dark ones, with akanes being minimal compared to nagito. but you see, the hair is what you see first, its at the top of the design after all. at first, nagito seems friendly and akane seems to be the more volatile danger to the group, but then those roles flip when you actually get a good look at them. Additionally, we see that nagitos design is incredibly complex, and akanes outfit is incredibly simple. this highlights their opposing ideologies and approaches to life.

Oh, whats that? you want to hear about their OPPOSING IDEOLOGIES AND APPROACHES TO LIFE? About how nagito deals with things by making them COMPLEX and akane deals with them by making them SIMPLE? thats not a jab at akane by the way, she very frequently shows that often times the simple route is the best route. a recurring motif in the game is that her gut feelings, while not detailed, are very trustworthy when it comes to lading the characters down the right path. she deals in the tangible, in the simple, cutting through all the extra bullshit and getting straight to the point of things, to the obvious answers that everybody is too caught up in the moment to see. she deals in matters of the body, the senses, a feeling in her stomach. shes physically fit and healthy, she has a strong appetite for life. Meanwhile nagito is the opposite, he has a strong appetite for death, hes physically ill, he deals in the intangible, in matters outside of him. In the hope of other people, in luck, in complex and difficult to understand plans and riddles. he actively makes things LESS simple, and is adamant about wanting to do so throughout the game. theres a direct link there between them. Theres other examples like this of them having opposing life experiences, too. For example, nagito is exceedingly rich, and akane is very poor. akanes talent is the most physical there is, meanwhile nagitos is the most intangible. they often appear on opposing sides in the game.

Oh, yeah, thats right. they often appear on opposing sides in the game! That, to me, is really what cements it beyond just pure coincidence. nagito and akane are ALWAYS butting heads. i mean christ, she tries to kill him at one point! there are multiple scenes where she tries to fight him, where shes moving the plot forward with her simpleness and hes moving it backwards with his complexity, in direct opposition to each other. She has a very simple answer to the nagito problem: get rid of nagito. nagito himself has a very complex answer to the nagito problem: get rid of nagito. they got to the same place by very different methods, and that happens all throughout the game. akanes gut feelings are often proven right, and so are nagitos complex theories. Akane knew the pillar killed nekomaru just by looking at it, meanwhile nagito had to play a (shitty, aggravating, oh my god this took me so long) minigame, go through a game of russian roulette but more, search the octagon for the weapon, and piece it together by looking through the worlds tiniest window that they were, in fact, inside a normal fucking building in order to figure out that yes, the pillar did indeed kill nekomaru. in game, we're seeing how their directly opposite approaches are leading them to similar results, that despite them being direct contrasts, theyre very similar.

Thus concludes the nagito and akane are foils rant akjsdjflskjk than you for listening i hope i dont sound. insane i just think about this a lot and NOBODY TALKS ABOUT IT LIKE. guys.

mianitian isles theory: all the gods are secretly apart of the darkness and theyre trying to lure the heroes into the darkness in order to take over not only the land but the other dimensions (ie s1 and s2)

like everyone has been saying, ianite IS being extremely sus right now and her luring jordan into the darkness would be SUPER easy for her since he trusts her no matter what. she could easily have another potion of darkness and rename it to "ianites potion" or some fancy shit like that and say "oh itll help you and prove to me that youre my one true follower" because jordans gullible and stupid as shit

dianite (spoiler alert) is actually evil and just putting on a facade for the others. tom is so willing to do evil shit that if the darkness used dianite as some sort of puppet in order to get tom to do their bidding, it wouldnt be so hard, wouldnt it?

as we all know, karl accidentally joined the darkness (poor guy) so theres no turning back now LMAO. theres also this one line that the darkness said that REALLY stuck out to me. it kinda went "poor karl, always being left behind" OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT im just paraphrasing. karl technically is the replacement tucker in this series and not only is he new to the series, hes new to the entire game. maybe he feels like he cant fill tuckers shoes in, but the darkness tries to persuade him into thinking they can make everything better for him. saying that "you dont need them {jordan and tom} we'll respect you if you join us" dun dun dunnn idk karls and interesting character i love that guy

DEC lets talk about dec. ok so we all know him as the priest right? he has communications with the gods and all that so we can assume hes buddies with them. so he knows everything about them and what they say. one day he accidentally stumbles apon a conversation happening between the gods (or one of them idk) and the darkness. they dont know/cant see him/whatever ok but dec now knows about their secret alliance. BUT the gods dont know that he knows. BUT (a lot of buts) hes afraid to tell the heroes because the gods might find out and he doesnt want to get killed or something. hes trying to find a subtle way to tell them, but for now hes keeping quiet.

- another theory could be that dec is apart of the darkness as well but thats lame, i like dec and i hate the darkness i wont do that to him

mianite easily succumbed to the darkness by wearing that armor and tried to kill the heroes (duh) but what if it was an act? it would have the heroes go crying to their gods (karlyle probably just sitting there) and theyd """protect'"" them from the darkness. mianite got the short end of the stick to try and pretend to be "possessed" or whatever the fuck happened

now about the "take over not only the land but the other dimensions" part. obviously the darkness had access to the mirror dimension if im not mistaken right? (if im wrong then totally correct me, my memory has been kinda shit lately) so that means they have access to ALL the other dimensions, including the season 1 and season 2 dimensions (i dont know what to call them so lets just say s1 and s2). the darkness is evil, so DUH DOY theyd want to take over as much land as they want. and its not like those dimensions are completely abandoned, it was only the heroes that left. redbeard, s1 ianite, the old streamers, spark/jeriah/country bat (i think) are still in the s1 universe. i dont remember but im pretty sure theres still some characters in the s2 dimension? havent seen it in a while, feel free to correct me or say whos left. theres no heroes in any of those dimensions to stop the darkness from taking over and god knows what theyre even capable of. we've barely seen what they could do but look at fenrir right? i assume theyre more powerful than s1 dianite or s2 mianite. and by luring the heroes into the darkness, they remove one obstacle out of their way.
