DIY- Arwen Butterfly Crown part 2.
Lord of the Rings- Arwen butterfly crown- DIY. Painting and accessories.
For painting, first I used a white plastidip for priming the foam. After, I used a light grey coat of acrylic paint. I painted the inside of the crown white.
I let the grey paint dry, I lightly sanded it to dull the color a little. Afterwords, I spray painted about 2-3 layers of silver paint.
Accessories:
I spray painted the pendant piece for the center of the crown silver and went over the edges with a silver sharpie.
I then glue some wire at the top and bottom of the crown, following a picture.
I hole punched the foam to attach the o rings. I hole punched at two places on the crown mirroring where they are. On the back of the crown and on the side.
And then started to attach the chain through the rings.

Wait wait wait... if Xie Lian represents the flower and Hua Cheng symbolizes butterflies... and butterflies are drawn to flowers for their nectar, aiding in pollination...
Did everyone know this!? Did everyone realize the symbolism of this, and I was just clueless this whole time!? I was just like, ohh pretty silver butterfly and never considered there was a deeper meaning

“Defining the problem” (Wendy Cope)
Butterfly reign by @tuesday-teyz
Let me psychoanalyse this piece:
Tommy is looking up at Philza’s statue - the first close up of eyes is the eyes of the statue. Looking forward, while Tommy is looking up, stuck in the shadow of the Emperor
The crest is inspired by the polish crest of Ślepowron
The nether star - because it belonged to Kristin, I sketched it looking like a part of woman’s jewellery. Something you can imagine a woman wearing
Then you have theseus looking at it, kinda mirroring the statue; just like Phil he’s looking forward, but instead of seeing anything around him he’s focused on only one thing (his revenge basically)
The last close up is Ranboo’s eyes. He’s looking down because he’s looking at Tommy, but Tommy is placed above him as a way to show that Ranboo’s not *looking down at him* (in the derogatory sense)
In the last two panels you can see Theseus’ childhood. The butterflies symbolise childhood, innocence and kindness; they’re touching him; in direct contact with him.
And when you look up, Theseus’ older self is also surrounded by butterflies - but never directly interacting with them.
