Once I properly gather my old resources, I fully intend on reviving an old Kokiri conlang I had meditated over in my youth. I also have to focus on consulting with our resident Rito Champion on his memories to reconstruct the Rito language and draw on my own experience to best construct Calamity-Era Picori Speech which, despite all my searching, has so far being very different from how it has been (admittedly rather lazily) depicted in canon.

As for Rito speech, it has a few quirks. Since the bird-folk are rather man-shaped, their vocal cords are not located in the area normal birds have them (which by the way is after their lungs branch so they have multiple sets which allow them to make more complex noises). Making bilabial sounds (involving two lips pressed together) doesn’t work because… well, they don’t have lips. I make exceptions for labiodentals like f and v as I’ve both heard those sounds from his native language speaking (weed loosens his beak a little, I swear) as well as there are Earth languages that use those sounds without touching teeth to lip.

My Old Kokiri has its own phonetic alphabet (which is personally more easy for me to follow than whatever the hell English has going on) but I wrote it when I was young during this cycle (like age 12-13) so needless to say I’d like to revise that.

The more I meditate and dig up old knowledge the easier it’ll be to fulfill my role.

The whole "kill Imogen before Ludinus can use her" discussion from 4sd and now the "expendable" conversation from e87 KILLS me because they are so so close. Ludinus doesn't need Imogen.

Ludinus:

is not ruidusborn and bitter about it

has built a device that sucks the magical essence out of creatures (currently fey), but requires the user to be of the same magical essence

commissioned the conception of Fearne (gross) to be both ruidusborn and fey

is now surrounding himself with VERY POWERFUL RUIDUSBORN

I feel like it's been obvious for a while but Otohan fully TOLD THEM Ludinus needs Fearne for his plan to work. He set up his own personal food chain (food dominoes?) that currently goes:

fey -> Fearne -> all ruidusborn -> Predathos? -> the gods??

Imogen would be convenient on his side, and another source of power, but she is not the lynchpin. Fearne is. And right now she seems pretty cavalier about potentially getting caught :)

One thing that I'm afraid about for the next Zelda game is that nintendo is clearly going down the botw route for future titles. I loved botw and totk, but to me these two games HIGHLY prioritized gameplay rather than story. Ocarina of time created a formula for its future zelda titles that in my eyes prioritized story over gameplay (now the quality of the stories could be debated aksjdbakbd)

Overall i just hope the zelda team finds a REALLY good balance between the two

my tears of the kingdom dlc wishlist in no particular order;

dungeons not related to the immediate story that have unique bosses but give you fun items that give you different perks

more outfits

an option you can select on the main menu after you've completed the game by beating ganondorf at least once where you get a segment of post game content that acts like an epilogue

either two new quests like a call from the depths, or eight new shrines, or two new dungeons with heart containers to even out the health bar/stamina wheel

a side adventure where you help a team of different folks build new settlements in select areas of hyrule, possibly even the depths

a flying construct in the vein of the master cycle that people can earn that never disappears, is easy to control, and doesn't eat up your battery as fast as fans typically do

a side adventure/whole dlc pack that delves into the hero referenced in botw from 10,000 years ago on the mural and in the hero's aspect

a side adventure where cece hires link to hunt down the culprit who has been making knock-offs of her clothing brand, and it turns out to be the yiga as a money-making scheme

People who say "we need a botw 3 to round out a trilogy!!!" are such FOOLS. Age of Calamity is RIGHT THERE. we ALREADY HAVE a trilogy. The story arc is already fully rounded out.

i’m up at 5am and i’m sleepy n listening to deadlock rebels so here’s some ramblings

one thing abt deadlock rebels is i genuinely like dislike julian after the betrayal … which is not something usual to me. i usually try to find some reason behind their actions, but i can’t think of anything behind his besides the shitty reasoning he gave:

“We knew from the beginning it wasn’t going to last forever. And you should have stopped when Marco told you to. But you didn’t and, well … You know all those nights at Trout’s? Turns out my run of bad luck is more of a marathon. I got in deep with a few folks that weren’t going to take an IOU.”
