“I’m adding this one to my collection” He says smiling. “what collection?” You ask in curiosity, he looks over the dress in his hands then looks back into your eyes. “My collection of what you wear during my favorite encounters with you.” He confesses.

College

You awaken in the morning to the sound of your iPhone alarm clock. Austin is curled up against you holding you tightly . You wiggle to get out of his arms but he is too heavy keeping you trapped. You turn your head to look at him as you gently tug his hand to wake him nicely. “Austin I need to go to school.” You say softly and he slowly opens his eyes. He looks at you and he smiles seeing you first thing in the morning, though deep down he hates that you are leaving. But he promised you last night after he showered you and you climbed into bed with him that you could return to school the next day.

He lets out a breath and sits up in bed, he already has a plan set in place that will deter you from school for a while to bring you back to him.

“I’ll set up the shower and cook you breakfast okay?” He says pulling your head to him and planting a kiss on your hair. “Okay Austin.” You say.

You finish breakfast together sitting at the counter in his enormous kitchen. As he gets up and takes your dishes to the sink he decides to offer you something he knows you can’t resist. “Why don’t you take the range to school.” He says offhandedly as he pulls two cooling espressos resting on they tray of his machine.

“Really? You would do that!” You ask excitedly. “Why not.” He says grinning at your excitement. “I’ll have them detail your car in the meantime and you can bring back the Range when you come to work on Saturday.” He offers. “But I thought… you wanted me to stay all week.” You question due to his original agreement he paid your for on Monday.

“Well with school that makes it difficult doesn’t it.” He reveals. “You’ll have to stay here and wake up like this every morning at 5am to drive there then be back here after 5pm that’s a bit excessive.” He reasons.

“Oh I didn’t think about that.” You admit. He brings you your espresso and as you sip it he hands you your tiny birth control pill which you swallow with the last of the caffeine.

He reaches in his sweats pocket and pulls out the range key handing it over. “ Thank you Austin.” You say collecting the keyless fob in your hand and looking up to him. “Your very welcome.” He says feeling his heartache when you stand up and hug him goodbye. He pulls your face to his planting a kiss. “See you on Saturday.” You say grinning. “See you in Saturday” he says with a weak smile.

NE Vacation lets gooo

So I'm still really worn out but less than I ended up being yesterday so HERE is a post about the trip I just went on! It's gonna get real big and have a couple photos so I'll just go ahead and cut it here lol

-We went to visit family in Rhode Island...I have been to NYC a couple times but not any further north than that so anything in New England was a brand new experience. I was not a fan of the humidity (pretty arid here at home lol) but I like ocean and forest so I thought it was super pretty! I could not believe all the flowers and blue/purple hydrangeas EVERYWHERE

-We did fly in and out of Providence airport...but since it is super tiny we had to do connecting flights both ways. Wednesday last week we had to get up at 3 AM (after I had a full work day the day before) to get to the first plane, and on this Tuesday the layover between flights was REAL tight so both travel days were kind of brutal.

-ANYway, we ended up going to the Brimfield Antique Show in Massachussetts for two days. I don't think we covered a quarter of the show, we didn't expect it to be as enormous as it was. I ended up getting an antique inkwell shaped like a shell (it rotates on its stand), a metal dog, some vintage postcards (I love old landscape photos and interesting buildings), an old fan with a beautiful mountain painting on the front and a funeral home ad on the back (wtf lol), and a vintage travel guide to Rome with a lot of pictures but everything in Italian.

-Some other family from New York ended up coming with us to the antique show, as my aunt had rented a Vrbo (first time I've been in one) and there was plenty of room. One of those days we got takeout from a local restaurant and there was a machine in there dispensing pokemon cards for 50 cents...I thought "Sure why not" and got one - it ended up being a Dark Energy card instead of actually anything so I thought that was extremely funny

-We also went to Boston for a day - very pretty as well! I liked it way more than NYC to be honest. I had NO IDEA there were so many tunnels! Rained on us a ton though it cleared up by the time we did a bus tour. I am a big fan of brutalist architecture so I thought the one government building (the bus tour guide called it the Hurley building, I think) was REALLY cool. Wish I had gotten a picture of it but I was on the wrong side of the bus. Also: Bostonians, I am very sorry but your green line subway train makes possibly one of the worst sounds I've ever heard.

I thought the top of this building, whatever it was, looked very neat. Very art deco.

-Uhh, what else did we do....after that we did actually do stuff in RI. Went to Ft Adams, went to Blithewold Manor, did a scenic ocean drive...I love how none of those Beachfront Home buying shows actually show the wild amount of traffic caused by people trying to get to the beach - parking whereever and blocking lanes constantly. I'd never live that close to the water to begin with as I'd be too afraid of flooding or my house falling in, but I had no idea how bad the traffic situation actually was. 8'D

-We did get a milkshake from Newport Creamery! I'm not normally a milkshake person but we tried them anyway and it was soooo good. Really enjoyed all the local chains in general.

-On the last day we did a lighthouse tour on a large catamaran and that was super awesome, I think it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. There was a Karen on our boat throwing multiple tantrums as the tour did not start fast enough for her liking but that just ended up being also extremely funny. The guy actually doing the tour was great and I'm actually quite curious about the history of the area, as I had no idea there were so many pirates o_o

Leo Okagawa has recently been known for performing improvised music on electronics at venues in the Tokyo area. On the other hand, he has long been creating “composed” works using environmental sounds, analog noises and electronics.

This CD consists of pieces in the latter category. Okagawa made 43 tracks from his direct recordings (each a few minutes long) of sounds he encountered in various locations between June and August 2023, then put them together without edits to create this 72-minute-long field recording masterpiece. Although taken on different days, the 43 tracks follow the flow of a summer day from early morning to dusk. The myriad sounds captured in changing locations hit the listener’s ears in a dynamic way.

Bandcamp Daily: The Best Field Recordings on Bandcamp: January 2024 Between June and August of last year, Leo Okagawa carried his Zoom H4n recorder with him everywhere he went, capturing small moments throughout his day. He then assembled these clips into a narrative of a representative summer day in Tokyo, organizing them chronologically from morning to night but otherwise leaving them completely unedited. Some tracks are almost shockingly mundane (“a man reading a newspaper at the library”) while others hold more intrinsic interest (“an ascetic monk passing by on the street”). But these pieces mean more in the aggregate than any single recording would suggest; cumulatively, they create a window onto another person’s experience of the world that is oddly touching in its simplicity. Vital Weekly: ‘Just Another Day’ by Leo Okagawa is a conceptual release, not a cover of an early Paul McCartney song. It’s Leo recording events from one day, just another, starting at 5:16 AM to 8:39 PM, sounds of a van waiting, birds, ‘an unmanned subway ticket gate’, the clean up of fallen leaves and such events of daily life. It’s a pity the cover says, ‘recorded June-August 2023’, which is not another day but highlights various days of recording. Isn’t it cheating? Okagawa chooses a fixed point and starts recording with no overdubs. It’s an exciting release and, for Ftarri, a surprising one, seeing they have very few that deal with field recordings and not in this way. It’s something one would expect from a label such as Gruenrekorder. It’s fine work, but for the experienced listener to field recordings, and I think I am one of them, not a big surprise. It’s a straightforward documentation of life in the city (and I assume it’s Tokyo). Okagawa made a great selection, that much is clear, and it depicts life in the big city. Beyond that, I am lost. I used watercolor, pencil, colored pencils, and pens in my drawing. I first outlined with pencil and thought of my biggest aspirations such as becoming a doctor and having enough money to buy a car/a bunch of clothes but I also thought how what big society right now which is social media. I also really like the winter so I including a painting on the wall of the room with a drawing of snow falling. I also love sunsets a lot so another drawing on the wall is of the sunsetting in the beach. As I was finishing I realized how I love using color to create an even bigger juxtaposition of what is there in that room versus the items specifically being depicted in the still-life. The paintings in the background show the different seasons and the containers such as the bowl holding the money/water dispenser with social media are in pencil. I come to realize how our passions, goals, and technology such as social media are what bring color and light to our lives by giving a deeper meaning and connecting our surroundings. I morphed a person into my drawing of a stethoscope to represent how my passion for becoming a doctor grew further this year and it connects really well because a big part of this profession is working with people. I animated the car with a squiggly line design because the main purpose of them is motion so I thought it was the most fitting to make it stick out more and give it more movement. I also added a collage element with cut outs that represent a big part of my 2023 which are dance, fashion and eating a lot of cup noodles as a college student.

This passage discusses how a writer was able to create an association between a color and a emotion. I found it very interesting by how in the nineteenth century the way shakespeare depicted the color green was why people assoicate this color with envy. Its fascinating to see the power of description and words to push people to imagine a certain color when they read The Merchant of Venice.

First time I’ve written an x reader in a while, I hope it’s okay. Also not beta read, so let me know if there’s any mistakes.

Snores filled the room that was illuminated by the sun, light filtering in through the holes and rips in the curtains covering the window above their heads. You needed to buy new curtains but that was the least of your worries, especially now that your entire body felt like it was made of jelly and a boulder. Not only that but your head was pounding, breathing was hard, throat was incredibly sore and you felt entirely too hot for comfort despite not sweating.

What you thought were just allergies yesterday, seemed to turn into so much more in the span of twenty-four (24) hours.

You fought to breath both from your mouth and nose as snot couldn’t decide if it wanted to go one way or the other. However, after a few seconds of struggling, you were finally able to breathe, through your nose thankfully. That didn’t stop you from gagging as the feeling of a clump of snot slid down your throat, almost making you vomit. The arm over your waist did nothing to slow you down from getting out of bed as fast as your sluggish body would allow.

There was a groan from the bed that filled the room as bare feet shuffled quickly across the cold floor to the bathroom, fuck the slippers. Upon entering the bathroom, the mucus came back up your throat and was quickly spat into the toilet, followed by a gag that promised to be more than just mucus that would come up. Luckily, that didn’t happen, or maybe unluckily, as the filling wouldn’t leave your stomach or throat.

Your mouth was so dry in result of you apparently sleeping with it open, leaving your tongue stiff from lack of moisture. And after spit was accumulating in an attempt to fix the dryness? You wish you had just left everything dry because now everything was uncomfortably slimy. Everything. Spitting into the toilet again, you failed to acknowledge the figure that appeared in the bathroom doorway. A look of concern washed over Andy’s face as he heard the flush and saw your soft form shuffle towards the sink, grabbing a little plastic cup from the dispenser to fill with tap water, panting weakly the entire time.

They let you get a drink before approaching you, listening as you groaned then coughed slightly before they spoke up.

“Hey lovely, you okay? Allergies kicking your ass?”

Turning to look at him, you shake your head, trying to get past him with a mumbled, whiny but croaked out, “I think I’m sick.” He doesn’t let you get further than a toe over the threshold before he’s gently grabbing your wrist and turning you to face him. It’s as his ringless hands cup your cheeks that you begin to shiver, teeth chattering and his grey eyes widen.

“Darling, you’re burning up!” “I-I feel hot but cold at the same time.”

They gently turn you around again and guide you back to your bed, one hand holding yours as the other rests on your cushioned waist. They encouraged you to lay down before covering you up, tucking the blankets under your sides at your stuttered request. After what felt like half an hour, which was actually only a few seconds, Andy came back with a thermometer and placed it under your tongue, not needing to ask you to open your mouth seeing as you done so once the device was spotted.

After the thermometer beeped to announce it was through, Andy grabbed it from between your lips, looking at the number it displayed. “Looks like you’re hot in more than one way.” A groan came from you, from the fact you had a fever, or from your partner’s horrible flirt that was poorly timed, you both were unsure, maybe it was both.

Walking back into the bathroom, they sanitized the thermometer and put it away before looking through everything in search of some cold and flu medicine. Once found, they got the proper amount and brought it to you to take, praising you for taking it despite the taste.

“I’ll make you some soup.”

That had you sitting up and almost falling out of bed. You were NOT going to let him fuck up your kitchen with his attempts at cooking, sickness be damned.

“NO!” If the sharp pain in your head from the yell didn’t have you quieting down, then the pain in your throat following the word for sure did. “I’m okay enough to make soup. Don’t worry about it.”

Lunging forward to try catching you in case you did fall, your partner scoffed. “Absolutely not, lay back down. I’ll just order some from that mom and pop restaurant nearby since it’s such an issue.” They were a little offended at the rejection, but bit their tongue to keep quiet.

You immediately felt bad for your reaction and tried to make amends. Moving off to one side of the bed, you threw back the covers and patted the empty space while shivering, inviting the redhead to lay with you. They climbed in and laid on their back, looking at the ceiling as you covered both of you to keep warm.

Once you were comfortable on the mattress, your positioning and spacing didn’t last long as Andy pulled you close to him, into his side with your head on his chest as one of his arms wrapped around your shoulders, rubbing your upper arm. A quiet laugh came from you but quickly turned into pathetic little coughs from shortness of breath that you tried directing away from your partner.

Once you caught your breath and stopped coughing, you spoke up softly, not needing to speak too loudly with the short distance between you two.

“I’m sorry, I know my outburst offended you and was completely uncalled for. I know you just wanted to try and make me feel better, but you’re currently doing that by laying here with me, and it doesn’t involve my kitchen.”

With a short laugh and a head shake, Andy turned to look at you, then planted a light kiss to your forehead. Silence washed over the room, aside from Bug, the mouse, chatting away to the air, before a question passed your lips.

“Sooo… does that mean I’m forgiv-“ “Yes, you’re forgiven, love.”

A dopey smile crossed your face at the conformation, but soon dissipates when something dawns on you.

“You need to get away from me before I get you sick. I care about you too much you have you catch what I’ve got. You gotta get Bug and go home.”

Wiggling back, you get enough distance away from them to put your hands between your bodies before they realize what’s going on and try to prevent you from creating more space. You had just gotten warm enough to stop your teeth from chattering and they didn’t want you getting cold again, or to suffer through the sickness alone.

“What? Lovely, no. I don’t care if I get sick. I plan on staying here until you’re better, and if I get sick? Then we can be sick together and figure out how to adult through it together. Now, don’t fight my cuddles!”

Snot began running down your nose causing you to try sniffling it back in, then you felt arms wrap around your waist. Gently swatting the hands, you uttered that you would “be right back” and that you “needed to blow your nose.” So as you stood from your bed, Andy grabbed the box of tissues off the night stand and passed it to you, getting a soft “thanks” as you started back for the bathroom.

After a few minutes of what felt like blowing your brains out of your nose, you could finally breathe through it without hearing that annoying snot filled nose noise (you know the noise, right? Idk how to describe it.) and it was honestly a blessing. You also weren’t choking on any of the mucus anymore since you had been awake for a bit and most of it was out of your body. Washing your hands and grabbing the box, you started the trek back to your partner.

Unintentionally laying with your back to him, Andy scooted closer to you and wrapped his arms around your middle, slowly rubbing the squish that was your stomach over your shirt, it was comforting to him and quickly started to become comforting to you as well. So much so, that your eyelashes fluttered shut and you began slipping off into dreamland.

“What time is it?” Not that you were going to stay awake no matter what the time was, your loopy brain seemed to want to know, but you weren’t sure if the question was asked or just thought, especially since it sounded extremely slurred. But you were surprised when you got a less slurred response from behind you.

“6:14 when I woke up, not sure now. I’ll get your soup around lunch and make it a big enough order so there’s some for dinner too.”

There was not one thought in your head and none of the words spoken registered, but you still gave a hum in acknowledgment. You’ll figure out what was said when the redhead wakes you up at 12:30 with some delicious looking soup in a bowl for you to eat.

This definitely wasn’t how the two of you planned on spending the only day you both had off at the same time from work and college, but spending the day cuddling wasn’t so bad either. Maybe next time the sickness could be ditched.
