I don't know how people trust ai for anything when it frequently gets things wrong or out of order. like even listicles, the lowest form of content, can be blatantly wrong when written by ai. when I was looking into white noise machines I found a list that I don't think human eyes did anything more than scan bc it was like

I made my first ever guitar pedal from scratch. It’s a fuzz pedal based on a popular, simple schematic called the Bazz Fuss. I didn’t buy a kit. Just bought a bunch of components off the interwebs. The knob for the potentiometer will come in tomorrow. I can’t put up a sound demo up tonight because it’s 2am in Austin right now. But it works (I tested it out earlier). A problem I have with non-news BuzzFuzz is that the site has no editorial point of view. Any pop culture event they cover has one article saying “Celebrity Did X & It’s Shady,” and another saying “We Love That Celebrity Did X.” I try to separate the garbage they produce from the good journalism, but the strength & quality of their reporting doesn’t negate the fact that a lot of their other content is just stolen from Tumblr & Twitter. Idk, I guess I have lots of feelings abt this....

Frankly, I kinda like that they don't have a single editorial perspective, at least about nonsense like celebrity gossip. At one paper I worked with, the big boss was like "we need to write more editorials" and I was like... why? And editorial perspective is a serious tool, imo, and something that should be reserved for only the most serious of matters. News sources should try to be as objective as possible. Too much editorial perspective inhibits that.Besides, they do have a pretty distinct leaning when it comes to important stuff, like politics and social issues. It's the the celebrity gossip they flip flop on, which is more clickbait stuff than hard news.And a lot of people complain about buzzfeed "stealing content". I have a lot of opinions about the whole concept of "stealing content," but I'm not going to get into that. What I will say is this: we all steal content. There are Tumblr blogs dedicated to Twitter screenshots, there a Twitters dedicated to Tumblr screenshots, and there are Facebook pages dedicated to Twitter and Tumblr screenshots. Tumblr, specifically, was notorious back in the era of Vine for stealing videos.Places like Hot Topic stealing people's artwork and selling it on crappy t-shirts, ya, that's a serious problem.Buzzfeed sharing a screenshot of a shitpost that was also shared on probably 20 other sites? Ya, not that big of deal imo.But then, you can have whatever opinion you want. Buzzfeed isn't infallible, and I really don't care enough to actually argue about it.All I ask is that you make sure your opinion is your own, and not the opinion the internet has convinced you to have.
