● Caden is not only canonically gay and a dragon, but is the soulmate of Valerius, the King of Dragons. In a world of shifters Caden is the 9th dragon shifter to appear in a world with 8 dragon shifters who have divided up and rule the world. Another ability is being able to telepathically communicate with Valerius, his soulmate, across any distance in human or dragon form. Valerius and Iolare are not the only soulmates as their dragon spirits Raziel and Iolare, respectively, are also soulmates.

Here's the synopsis for the book for anyone who wants to listen to it!

backstory for whomever is interested:

one day a young boy was running through his town, running errands for the townsfolk to deliver things for shopkeepers. he found some bread and ate it, it was on the ground by a bin. he heard a voice in his head and assumed it was just a god, his body then felt off and he was suddenly smaller. he looked down and he had grey legs? he ran. he ran and didn’t stop, something was terribly wrong and. when he finally stopped he was lost, he prayed to pan to help him home. he never got help. he soon transformed back, he was struggling to breathe, he was naked, lost, scared, and tired.

years later, he heard about a man who suddenly became a big black dragon, he went to help him. they grew close over the years and he was known as an ally to all new shifters, and during the war, he was neutral and helped get people safe.

then caden came along, he was a regular for a few years at the emporium before he got to busy and stopped going.

I started listening to a podcast/audiobook called Dragon's Reign on Spotify. It's a cliché gay romance novel that was just nice to listen to while I did schoolwork and art. I ended up really liking it and I was curious and wanted to know how they looked like besides how they looked like on the cover. I didn't like Caden's haircut so I gave him a new one. I had to draw it out for myself because I thought it would be fun. I'm proud with how it came out too.

Favorite LGTBQ+ Book

Unfortunately I haven't been able to access a lot of books with representation, but I have been listening to a audiobook podcast called Dragon's Reign, which is read by the author Raythe Reign. There are 90 chapters out so far and I am loving the plot.

The story takes place in a world where shifters live their lives alongside humans, ruled by the 8 dragon shifters. It's focused on the life of Caden Bryce, an ordinary human who becomes the 9th dragon shifter after a heroic deed. There's romance, drama, suspense, and a good touch of humor.

King Valerius (Dragon's Reign by Raythe Reign/X. Aratare)

• King Valerius is the King of all dragons and first dragon shifter in this world. Valerius bonded to his dragon, Raziel, thousands of year ago during a war when his own brother was killed before his eyes. Raziel the dragon bonded with Valerius to allow him to avenge his brother. Valerius remained isolated for many years, preferring to be alone until forced to come out of hiding after the truth about the existence of shifters was revealed to the world and became a reluctant King. Valrius does not much want to rule, yet still cares for those under his protection. Meeting his soulmate Caden, ninth dragon shifter and the white dragon, changed his outlook on life. Helping him to not be as grumpy and to take a more active role in ruling.

Similarly to Caden, Valerius is immortal and able to shift into his dragon form via Raziel, his dragon spirit. Valerius is the black dragon and has the breathe abilities of all the other dragon shifters such as fire, poison, lightning, energy, lava, and more. He is also able to internally communicate with Raziel and telepathically communicate with Caden, his soulmate, across any distance in human or dragon form. Valerius and Iolare are not the only soulmates as their dragon spirits Raziel and Iolare, respectively, are also soulmates.

Whiptail lizard (Real Life)
