Caden Bryce (Dragon's Reign by Raythe Reign/X. Aratare)

● Caden is not only canonically gay and a dragon, but is the soulmate of Valerius, the King of Dragons. In a world of shifters Caden is the 9th dragon shifter to appear in a world with 8 dragon shifters who have divided up and rule the world. Valerius at first believes him to be invading his territory after Caden stops a terrorism bombing and instead of dying he becomes a dragon shifter. Caden is kind and caring, always choosing to save others and attempting to end conflicts through peaceful means. Caden does not want the responsibility which comes with being a dragon shifter but eventually realizes he can use his new influence for good.

In this world shifters exist via animal spirits who bond with humans, granting them immortality and the ability to shift into their bonded animals, among other abilities. Caden is bonded to Iolare, the white dragon, who he can communicate with internally. Iolare has ice ability along with the ability to force other dragon shifters back into their human forms. Another ability is being able to telepathically communicate with Valerius, his soulmate, across any distance in human or dragon form. Valerius and Iolare are not the only soulmates as their dragon spirits Raziel and Iolare, respectively, are also soulmates.

Ever Dark - Chapter One (Playlist here) by Raythe Reign

I recently found the podcast/audiobook called Ever Dark on Spotify recently and I wanted to share it here cause I'm IN LOVE! Not only is all the main characters and couples M/M, but it includes vampires, unique storylines and absolutely delicious smut scenes that are like *chef's kiss*! <3 I can't believe there aren't more mentions about this audiobook on tumblr, so I thought I'd share! The R rated scenes are pay only, but I totally paid lol cause~ y'know, I wanted the full experience HAH! And the actors' voices are amazing, fits so well! <3 Definitely recommend!!!

Yearly Book Wrap-Up 2023

This is my first time posting on here when it comes to anything personal or related to my interests. Considering this was a big year for me, not only in books but in other areas of life as well, I figured I'd share my book-wrap up for this year.

Ever since finishing my bachelors degree I'd started on my book journey once again. While it had continued during college, it never really felt the same, not until I had graduated. Slowly, year by year, I started to read more book. It had begun to feel how it felt in high school, constantly reading and enjoying myself as I did so.

This year's goal for me was: 40 Books

This year's read count: 55 Books!

I surpassed my goal by 15 books, an achievement I never imagined I would reach. This year I truly felt I was a voracious reader and I could not be any happier.

backstory for whomever is interested:

one day a young boy was running through his town, running errands for the townsfolk to deliver things for shopkeepers. he found some bread and ate it, it was on the ground by a bin. he heard a voice in his head and assumed it was just a god, his body then felt off and he was suddenly smaller. he looked down and he had grey legs? he ran. he ran and didn’t stop, something was terribly wrong and. when he finally stopped he was lost, he prayed to pan to help him home. he never got help. he soon transformed back, he was struggling to breathe, he was naked, lost, scared, and tired.

years later, he heard about a man who suddenly became a big black dragon, he went to help him. they grew close over the years and he was known as an ally to all new shifters, and during the war, he was neutral and helped get people safe.

then caden came along, he was a regular for a few years at the emporium before he got to busy and stopped going.

this is an oc for a mlm or m/m book called Dragon’s Reign by X. Aratare, if you want to read it she/they (couldn’t find pronouns) has a podcast that i’d recomend reading:)

Book Review: Transformation by X. Aratare

TWO STARS

I found the author via the podcast Dragon's Reign on Spotify, and found myself enjoying the story, so I figured I'd read some of the other stuff they've written. This was really just an introduction to the story that we'll be getting to read in the next books. Like, why is this seven chapters? It doesn't even have a conclusion! This could've been so much shorter, and it ends just as we're about to get into the actual meat of the story. The first book is basically just the scenes that'll be kick-starting the real story in book 2. It's the backstory, and it dragged for much too long. And maybe I'm being a bit of an asshole here, but I'm mad and very disappointed, because I was going into this really excited. The 'Something traumatic/tragic happens at the ocean, turning main character into an orphan/almost dying, which then makes them hate the ocean and vow to never set foot in it again' trope is really overdone. I'm sorry, but I've read more mer/siren stories that have this trope than not. Usually it doesn't even bother me, but this, along with the other stuff is just too much man.

The Abyss: Blood Kin by Raythe Reign

A note: Raythe Reign publishes some works but The Abyss is only available with a subscription.

This is my first Raythe Reign story and I'm so glad I bought the subscription in order to I read it. I love the characters and the relationships. The villains are proving wonderfully multifaceted and the story intriguing. Tranis is set up for most of it as the villain but as the story progresses you see more of why he was doing what he was and that he really loves his son. And the major villain garners some sympathy late due to his history (he's still an ass).

Abaddon, Ararion and Dorn have what is possibly my favourite relationship right now. It is so complicated. Lust, longing, love, jealousy and power are all at play. Add to that the blood and the history. It's messy and compelling. I do wonder where the author is heading with that but we'll see.

It needs to be said that Leonais and Nico have one of the most unlikely yet adorable relationships. Nico totally deserves the Bunny nickname. Leonais just reminds me of a lion, don't mess with his Pride.

Basically, the story is amazing. It's hard to step away from and well worth the subscription

King Valerius (Dragon's Reign by Raythe Reign/X. Aratare)

• King Valerius is the King of all dragons and first dragon shifter in this world. Valerius bonded to his dragon, Raziel, thousands of year ago during a war when his own brother was killed before his eyes. Raziel the dragon bonded with Valerius to allow him to avenge his brother. Valerius remained isolated for many years, preferring to be alone until forced to come out of hiding after the truth about the existence of shifters was revealed to the world and became a reluctant King. Valrius does not much want to rule, yet still cares for those under his protection. Meeting his soulmate Caden, ninth dragon shifter and the white dragon, changed his outlook on life. Helping him to not be as grumpy and to take a more active role in ruling.

Similarly to Caden, Valerius is immortal and able to shift into his dragon form via Raziel, his dragon spirit. Valerius is the black dragon and has the breathe abilities of all the other dragon shifters such as fire, poison, lightning, energy, lava, and more. He is also able to internally communicate with Raziel and telepathically communicate with Caden, his soulmate, across any distance in human or dragon form. Valerius and Iolare are not the only soulmates as their dragon spirits Raziel and Iolare, respectively, are also soulmates.

Whiptail lizard (Real Life)
