Naked Photography
No not THAT sort of naked photography! Yes it's true I do spend a huge amount of time in front of my husband's lens with my clothes off (no that isn't a a euphemism, I do mean a camera lens!). Indeed I've spent a lot of time posing in front of cameras, period! Some times a girl gets to thinking, 'maybe I could do that too?'
Tumblr media
Okay, at least photos of rocks, nature and stuff. If I do photography it has to be naked and as natural as possible.
Maybe it's my 'naturally inclined' life philosophy but I prefer doing photography the way it's been done for almost 200 years; the analogue way. That thing in my hand is a film camera (a Minolta Dynax 7xi to be precise). It takes 35 mm film which needs to be developed in a lab. I do it at home however, in coffee! Honest.
Tumblr media
I develop my films in Caffenol. You may well have all the ingredients yourself: 1/2 oz of Instant Coffee; 3/4 oz of Washing Soda and 1/4 oz of Vitamin C tablets! These are all crushed and mixed together in 12 fl ozs of water from the tap/faucet.
With the film safe in the developing tank together with the coffee, there is 20 minutes to an hour of doing THIS! Time for a REAL pot of fresh ground coffee (without soda and vitamin C!), drunk naked of course.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The film then gets rinsed with water and left in a fixing bath for 5-10 minutes. The time depends on the film! At that point we're ready to take the film out and examine the negatives!
This is one of the things I love most about shooting film; the anticipation of seeing the negatives and how they turned out!
Tumblr media
In this case, they turned out just fine. Here's one:
Tumblr media
My husband Mart (naked of course). If I have to strip off for him, the least he can do is to get naked for me!
So there you have it! All you need to do photography; film, coffee, soda, vitamin C and.... (you can forget the CLOTHES!).
Back to more naked shooting then!

Thank you for reading. Please like, share and re-blog with my blessing. All photos remain copyright. If you're into photography (as well as just naturist pics of ME) please check out my photography blogs here:

A photographic workflow
Since I really love reading about other people's workflow, here is mine. I decided to test my Agfa Selectronic Sensor S. Therefore, I put in 24 exposures of Fomapan 200 that I bought on a roll and fed into a spooler. I also bought the film magazines. This saves money. I photograph essentially in black and white for three reasons: the first is that an element of complexity is removed from the equation, namely color. The second is economic: color film costs an inordinate amount of money. For color, I prefer to use my Canon Powershot G10. Finally because with black and white it is easier to be in control of the process from start to finish. Loading the camera, I took a ride to the northern outskirts of the city, Trento, where all the administration buildings are located. It was a cold and overcast day, the weather forecast had announced snow. Back home I pulled out the film tail using another piece of slightly wet film. At that point I inserted the magazine into my Lab-Box, which allows development in bright light, hooked the film tail, closed the lid, and loaded the film into the spiral. At this point I prepared the developing liquid, 300 ml of caffenol, which I now use all the time and with consistent results, for developing black and white negatives. I used this recipe: https://filmdev.org/recipe/show/11645https://filmdev.org/recipe/show/11645 When development was finished, I hung the film to dry. Once dry I digitized it using a Sony a7 digital camera with a 50mm macro lens from Pentax, mounted with an adapter. The camera is mounted on a moving column, while the negative is held thanks to a Lomography gadget that also produces the necessary backlighting. The camera is connected with a USB cable to the PC, which-thanks to a remote control-allows shooting from a distance, without touching the device. After capture, the negatives are processed in Darktable (open source). Images are retouched to fine-tune brightness and contrast, although in general only a few steps are required.

Welcome
Tumblr media
Thank you for visiting my analogue photography blog. I am a photographic student, blogger, Lomographer and black and white film photographer based in East Lancashire, England, UK. I mainly shoot outdoors, often naked. It is natural and organic. I prefer life that way; old school and traditional.
Tumblr media
My home town lies amid a wild Pennine landscape which can seem grim and forbidding at times. The post-industrial nature of where I live lends itself to urban landscape photography but natural landscapes are there to be found too.
Tumblr media
I shoot on two Minolta SLR bodies: a 1990's Minolta Dynax 7xi with either a 35-105 lens or a 70-210 f4.5-5.6; also an SPxi with a 35-80 Power zoom (my carry around camera). I shoot Kentmere 35 mm film almost exclusively, mainly 400 ASA. I home develop in Ilford PQ Universal to give my shots the gritty graininess which suits the landscape around me. Lately I've begun to experiment with Caffenol - watch this space!
Tumblr media
My main gallery is on Lomography so if you like what you see here, check out my art by following this link.
My Lomography home is https://www.lomography.com/homes/pennine_girl
Please like, share and re-blog if you wish. All photos reproduced here are entirely my own work and my copyright. I do not routinely re-blog the work of others.
Thank you to my photographic tutor and husband; professional photographer Martin Williams for the (digital) images of me, on this, my analogue page.

Looks like a pile of crap, huh? Well.. actually I think this looks pretty dang good. I took this shot for a project that I'm still waiting for the main folks to get a move on with.
What is it? Well, it's a photo of a phonebooth shot on medium format film, developed in caffenol and then printed on turmeric anthotype paper. It may be the only anthotype of a phonebooth to exist. I mixed the anthotype emulsion after a few weeks of testing. It took 9 days for the sun to burn the image into the paper properly. Then I digitally reversed it and turned it to black and white. I learned a lot about the process in the meantime. I'm not gonna both with anthotypes here in the winter... but come next summer, I'm gonna make some more.
What do you think? Am I crazy? Are good photos only sharp?
