Cora's Story: Goth Family Tree, Round 16

Here is the updated Goth family tree for Cora's Story after round 16 (80 in-game days). Changes from the round 15 post are bolded.

Mortimer Goth married Bella Bachelor, and they had two children: Cassandra and Alexander.

Cassandra Goth married Don Lothario, and they had four children together: Twins Isabella and Nick (born round 1), and twins Adrian and Michael (born round 3). Cassandra also had a daughter as a result of an alien abduction, named Nova (born round 6).

Isabella "Izzy" Lothario married Ricky Cormier, and they have four children together: Twins Donald and Walter (born round 9), Aldric (born round 10, currently attending Sim State), and Richard (born round 11). She lives in the Goth family home, also called the Goth Manor, with her husband Ricky.

Nick Lothario, called Nicky by his family and close friends, is Isabella's twin brother. He has one daughter as a result of an alien abduction, named Luna (born round 11). He currently lives with his fiancée, Shanna Mazza.

Adrian Lothario married Sophie Miguel, and they have two children, Cassie (born round 14) and Miguel (born round 15).

Michael Lothario currently lives with his wife, Diana Burb.

Nova Lothario has never been married.

Alexander Goth married Lucy Burb. They had two children, Whitney (born round 6) and Johnna (born round 7).

Whitney Goth married Orlando Centowski, and they have three children together: Lucas (born round 15), and twins Alexis and Ophelia (born round 16).

When Morty came home from work, he saw his former partner Diana Burb walking up to the house. He wanted to run up and give her a big hug and a kiss, but he was trying to restrain himself.

"Hello Diana." "Hello Morty." "You look well," Morty said. She looked great, better than ever in his eyes. "So do you," Diana responded. She knew Morty must have a million thoughts, so she dove in. "I'm sorry moved out so quickly." "I was really worried Di. I thought something terrible had happened to you," Morty said, his emotions flaring up. "What happened? Why did you disappear like that?" Diana paused for a moment. She didn't want to lie, but didn't want to break Morty's heart any more than she already had.

"I got an offer I couldn't refuse." "Without me? Di you know I would've gone anywhere with you. I've loved you all of my life. I would've stayed with you through anything," Tears were welling in Morty's eyes. This made Diana tear up too. "I know you would've. And I'm so sorry I couldn't love you back in the same way."

That was it. Things were really over between them.

Michael Lothario and Diana Burb were spending more and more time together, completely dropping the pretense of just hanging out after work.

"Do you think you'll get the next promotion? The athletic association would be crazy not to promote you to Coach." Michael said, leaning into his date. "Oh come on Michael, I know you didn't take me out to dinner to talk about work. But I appreciate the vote of confidence." Diana replied with a smile.

Michael and Diana were definitely physically attracted to each other, but could no longer deny that they had real feelings.

Michael Lothario knew he was living dangerously inviting Diana Burb over to his house after work, after what went down last time they were alone together. But he really enjoyed spending time with Diana, so he was pleased when she accepted his invitation.

"C'mon, I beat you fair and square!" Michael said after a game of pool. "No way! Best two out of three!" Diana punctuated by poking a finger jokingly at Michael's chest.

The two were determined to act like friends and coworkers, but as they played every game in the house, their banter got flirtier and more suggestive, until they got to the dart board.

One more playful argument and the tension was too much- Michael went in for a kiss, and the two ended up making out on his patio.

They thought their affair would be a one-time thing, for the sake of Diana's partner and Michael's best friend Morty, but that clearly wasn't the case.

Morty Goth brought his sister Cora home from work again, and she has made herself right at home.

Despite being in a very uncomfortable work uniform, Cora breaks it down in the living room.

Diana also brought a family member home from work- her cousin, Lilith. Not sure what music Diana and Morty had on, but apparently it made Lilith want to dance too.

Cora and Lilith both stayed for dinner. Seeing their family members together made Diana remember why she wasn't in a rush to plan a wedding.

At Morty Goth's house, his partner Diana Burb has moved in. She fixed the place up to no longer look like a bachelor pad.

"What do you think, should we invite some friends over to see the house?" Diana asked "Oh it's definitely ready for company," Morty replied, "But let's test out the new bed first."

Later that evening, the doorbell rang.

It was Morty's sister-in-law, Tara Welsh. "Hi Tara! Is everything okay? Where's Cora and Danny?" "They're at home. I was putting Danny to bed and he was worried because you hadn't been by for a few days. I said you and Diana were getting settled in and you all would see each other soon."

"Yes, tell Danny I'll come over later in the week. You and Cora have a great kid!" "Thanks Morty. We sure do. I'll let him know in the morning that'll you'll be over in a couple days."

Morty Goth graduated from Sim State and moved back to Pleasantview, buying a house to live in with his fiancée, Diana Burb.

Morty: So what do you think of the new house? I know it's not much right now, but when you move in we can decorate together. Diana: Oh Morty it's so nice. I love you so much. M: I love you too. I can't wait for your lease to be up so we can start our lives together.

They went to the club together with friends and tried to sneak in some hot tub woohoo, but there were too many people around.

Mrs. Crumplebottom showed up and yelled at Diana for being in her bathing suit. Other than that, it was a fun night.

Morty Goth went to college.

During his sophomore year, he popped the question to his high school girlfriend, Diana Burb.

She said yes- they'll get married after Morty graduates!

Diana recently graduated from Sim State. Once she got settled back into Pleasantview, Morty invited her out with his mom and sister so Diana could spend time with her future family.

They all went to Maple Springs Pool and Spa, but Morty had to get back to the dorms, leaving Dina Goth, Cora Goth, and Sam Broke with Diana. They had a good time playing darts together and chatting.

Even though the Goths are a small family, there's always a lot going on.

As a fortune Sim, Morty is usually pretty focused on studying and learning skills. But he's leaving for college before the end of this round, and took time out to make a booty call to his girlfriend Diana Burb (John and Jennifer Burb's second child).

Cora has also made a few booty calls, all to Tara Welsh. They haven't taken their relationship any further, but they're enjoying their time together.

At Michael Lothario's house, Michael had been thinking a lot about his coworker Diana Burb. After Lilith Pleasant's death, Michael and Diana had been working together more. He decided to invite her over to his house to hang out.

"Y'know, things have been going really well for me lately" Michael boasted. "I can tell- I've never seen a house like this!" Diana said wide-eyed. "And your butler? He makes the best hamburgers!" "I think so too. Hey, we should go up to the game room! I have so much cool stuff to show you."

Michael showed her the bubble blower, card table pool table, and Myshuno. He could tell Diana was impressed.

"Wow Michael! I've never seen a house like this. You're amazing- I mean, your house is amazing" Diana stammered. "I think you're pretty amazing too."

They looked at each other for a moment, and both realized where this was going.

They stripped off their clothes while walking over to the couch. Diana hopped on Michael's lap.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Michael asked. He had been dreaming of this moment since he met Diana in college. "Of course I'm sure." Diana said, leaning in to kiss him.

"Diana... that was incredible. You're an amazing woman." Michael stroked her cheek. She had never seen him look so happy. "Thanks Mike. You're amazing too." She smiled, trying not to think about the implications of what they'd just done.

Note #1: In this round, Mortimer Goth had his first great-great grandchild (Anna Cormier), as well as his 9th and 10th grandchildren (Parker and Arthur Goth). It makes me think of that president who was born in the 1700s and still has living grandchildren- that'll be Morty and Kaylynn's kids.

Note #2: I'm expecting my surviving Sims born in round 1 (Isabella, Nick, and Cora) to pass away in round 18, and I'm already sad about it. When Cora dies, my plan is to finish posting about that round, then that'll be the end. So, the next round may be the last, just a heads up.

At Michael and Diana's house, the doorbell rang.

It was Morty.

"Hi Morty," Diana said as she walked down the steps to greet him. "Hi Diana." "How did you find me?" "Our niece told me where you were." "Of course, Johnna. Won't you come in?"

The two caught up over lunch.

"So how long have you been living with Michael?" "Ever since I moved out of our house. I never did move to SimCity," Diana admitted. "Did you ever become a Hall of Famer?" Morty asked, because that was the reason Diana gave for leaving him- to move to SimCity and focus on reaching the top of her career. "I did. Michael and I are both Hall of Famers now." "That's wonderful Diana. You always wanted to reach the top of your career and live in a mansion. I'm happy for you."

"What about you, Morty? Are you still living with Cora and Tara?" The last time Diana saw Morty was at his sister's house. She knew he was struggling after she left him.

"No, I recently moved out," Morty said after scarfing down some salad. "I got married to Kaylynn Langerak, and we're expecting a baby." "Oh Morty!" This was all a huge surprise. She didn't know Morty wanted to get married or have kids, as it never came up when they were together. "I know," Morty replied, noticing her shock. "It's not at all how I thought my life would turn out. But I'm looking forward to this new chapter." "Congrats, Morty. I'm glad you've found happiness."

Morty just looked at her. He knew this was probably going to be the last time he saw Diana, so he didn't want to get into an argument. But his happiest years were with her. He never would've felt this need to get married in his later years if she hadn't left him. He was just trying to make the most of the time he had left.

"Welcome home, Morty. You can stay with us as long as you need to." Cora said as she hugged her brother. "Thanks sis. I can't believe it's come to this. I don't even know where she is right now." Morty said, looking completely bewildered.

"Hey, let's focus on something else for now. Tara and I set up the spare bedroom for you, and the butler's making your favorite meal. And Danny will be home soon to give us all of the high school drama." Cora said. "You're right. I need to get my mind off of Diana for a while. I really appreciate all you're doing for me," Morty replied.

Cora Goth's brother Morty had been spending more and more time at their house. His partner Diana Burb had been spending a lot of time away from home, giving the excuse of work. Morty couldn't stand to be in the home they built together, all by himself, so he'd been spending a lot of time at his sister's house.

Tara Welsh could hear her wife on the phone in the next room.

"Is Morty on his way over? He knows he's always welcome here, he doesn't have to call," Tara said as Cora walked into the room. Cora looked distraught. "Diana moved out while Morty was at work today," Cora said quietly. "She didn't tell him why or where she was going. She just took her things and left." "Oh no! Poor Morty. What's he going to do?" Tara asked, hands clutched over her chest, as if her own heart was breaking. "He's selling the house, T. He asked to stay with us while he figures out what to do next," Cora said. "I hope you told him that he can stay with us as long as he needs to." Tara replied. "Do you mean that? He could be here for a while. I wanted to make sure you were okay with it before I made any promises, Cora said hesitantly. "You know I'm fine with Morty being here! We have plenty of room, and he needs our support," Tara responded.

"You're really the best, you know that?" Cora said, caressing her wife's cheek. "You're not so bad yourself," Tara smiled.
