Tried sumptin a bit different last night. Smoked Cajun wings right on my grille. Turned out pretty delicious.

THIS IS NOT MY NEIGHBOR REDNECK DOUG
A few folks have DM'd me with this Instagram, thinking this guy is my neighbor and they finally found us.
WRONG.
It ain't him! The man in that video doesn't look like Santa Claus and that's not his accent.
Tis funny, though.
Doug's energy is a little more up this speed:
showtyme furniture store! (youtube.com)
Dear God this video is so AGGRESSIVELY Louisiana, it makes me wanna chug Sazeracs while listening to zydeco music in a smelly park and lose 4 kilos in water weight because I can't stop sweating.

For my Doug fans who haven't asked but want to see more of this trashy shit: @amalthiaph @yeehawgeek @thecoffeelorian @cdblake1565 @sued134

i was talking about this to a friend the other day but something i see ppl say often that really really pisses me off, is when people start hating on america, but it becomes clear they’re hating not on the state of america, but on the american people- and theyll say something to sort of like. exclude. american ethnic groups, as like a way of being like “yeahh fuck all americans they should all die IM NOT RACIST THOUGH!” except they do that by being like “yeah and there were american ethnic groups like natives and creoles and whatever…uhh but yk those americans. They killed all of them. So they’re not around anymore ergo not included.”
i just hate that. Like if you want to say you hate a whole population of people you have to acknowledge that you’re hating a whole population of people, you cant back out when it starts sounding really racist because by doing that you’re just sort of saying we are either extinct, or our whole continued existence on this land is null. Like either say you hate all americans and include us, or if that doesn’t sound right, then don’t say it at all!

We’ve all heard Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, but turn that record over and you’ll find this delightful lesser heard Cajun Christmas song.

Here we go...
I love when I get the question "how did you get into this?" because the answer is lots of trials and tribulations and God being so good in His plans.
I moved to Nashville right out of college with the hopes of getting into the music industry..I had no idea what that meant, but I know it was on my heart and I needed to do something about it. With every part of my journey, I could feel God letting me know I was in the right place. Now that doesn't mean some "yes" moments didn't turn into very strong "no" ones, but they all led me exactly where I wanted to be.
From working in radio, to digital marketing, starting my own business, now into management, I have learned so much about myself along with an industry that is one of incredible fulfillment, and a ton of challenges.
I can now say that every step has led me here and I am so very thankful. I am working alongside people I love who all equally work hard for someone/something we all believe in. I watch little girls like myself who watch in awe of what they are experiencing..and if I can continue making moments like that happen for someone, then I am in the right spot. If I can continue to travel and experience places and people all with different stories where music connects them, then I am in the exact spot I knew God had planned for me.
I created this page as place is for me to remember it all. Because as much as those moments mean, I want to look back and remember the feeling. The places. The struggles. All of it. It is a whirlwind of a job and a life, so this is my stready ground to write. To journal. To brain dump. And to share...so let's have some fun.
I am a Cajun girl loving where God led her, adventuring (is that a word?) in many different ways of living her dream, including half my days on the road. So here we go...

#MidweekMystery: Wined and Died in New Orleans by Ellen Byron
In the second Vintage Cookbook Mystery, Ricki has to help solve a murder, untangle family secrets, and grow her business, all while living under the threat of a hurricane that could wipe out everything from her home to Bon Vee.
It’s hurricane season in New Orleans and vintage cookbook fan Ricki James-Diaz is trying to shelve her weather-related fears and focus on her business, Miss Vee’s Vintage Cookbook and Kitchenware Shop, housed in the magnificent Bon Vee Culinary House Museum. Repairs on the property unearth crates of very old, very valuable French wine, buried by the home’s builder, Jean-Louis Charbonnet. Ricki,…
