ANTHONY ANTHONY ANTHONY I AM SOBBINGGGGGGG
"lucas just really cares for max in a way that kind of scares her, in a way that i don't think anyone else really has in her life, so that's a little terrifying for her. and also she really cares about him, which is also scary, and as someone- like as a character who has so many walls up, i don't know, she kind of can't make up her mind whether or not it's something that she wants." -sadie
"yeah, i feel that - i love lucas and max's relationship, it's not like eleven and mike's, you know, in that teenage relationship dynamic. their love is very, y'know, it's real. they don't have to be lovey-dovey to show their affection and how much they care about each other. their true bond is their friendship. they're not together because of, like, intimacy or just like lovey, they really care about each other and see each other for who they are, and you really get to see that in season four." -caleb

I never noticed this scene until now.
This is after Billy attacked Lucas.
Just the way Lucas immediately comes towards Dustin and Mike...
The way both Dustin and Mike rightway bring Lucas into a hug...
The way they both hold him in their arms, to confort him, 'cause, you know, he just got pushed against a wall by a teen way bigger than him and yelled at for simply having been close to Max, but also to keep him away from said teen and to make sure that Billy can't touch him again...
You can tell these kids all love each other so much.

Caleb McLaughlin once again having to address how poorly he’s treated in comparison with his white co-stars by the fan base is once again a reminder of how fucking ugly this fandom can be. The fact that Lucas is a main party member and has been since day one, has been shown having important arcs, important relationships, and has been extremely vital to the plot in every single season and yet receives far less fan attention than his white counterparts is still the reality four seasons in and there’s a reason for that.
It’s the same reason Erica gets ignored and abused by the fandom. The same reason Argyle has received 1/100th of the attention Eddie has and the reason Steddie is far more popular than Jargyle despite Jonathan and Argyle actually having a relationship (and I like Eddie and Steddie so don’t come at me I’m just saying). The same reason Billy still has an extremely devoted fan base who call him a sweet baby boi and write endless fics about him despite him canonically being a racist asshole who literally threatened Lucas’s life just because he was black. It’s the reason Caleb gets snubbed for awards despite some extremely phenomenal acting, especially in the S4 finale. (hint: it’s racism).
Anyway, Lucas and Caleb are amazing and deserve everything and I just think the ST fandom as a whole needs to be cognizant of how the (very few!) POC in the cast are treated.

Eddie and Steve are dating. Steve talks about how great his parents are, and then he drops the ball that he wants to introduce Eddie to them. Yeah, Steve says they're great, but how great are they? Eddie dresses as nice as he can be when his boyfriend comes to pick him up. He's nervous on the ride over to his house, and Eddie realizes that Steve isn't taking him to his house. Where was he taking him? That's when Steve pulls into a driveway. It's the Sinclairs. Eddie raises an eyebrow at him.
"What? Oh, did you think that I was taking you to meet the Harringtons? Ew, no," Steve said, blowing a raspberry. "I should have told you. The Sinclairs adopted me a couple of years ago shortly after the Harringtons abandoned me, leaving me an ugly ass house to try to sell. The Sinclairs are my real parents."
"You didn't tell me on purpose so you could see the look on my face, didn't you?"
"Now, why would I do that?"
"Because you're fucking menace but it's lucky you're cute."
They got out of the car, and before they could even step up to the door, it opened. Sue Sinclair came out to meet them.
"Steve!" Sue said with a smile.
"Hey, mom!" Steve said as he wrapped her in a tight hug and kissed her on the cheek.
Sue leaned in to whisper loudly to Steve.
"You're right. He is cute," Sue said, and Eddie giggled.
He followed Steve and Sue into the house, smiling at how cozy it felt. There were pictures of the family hanging on the walls, with Steve included. Steve’s pictures of when he was younger were thrown in with Erica and Lucas's. This was Steve’s real home. Eddie grinned.
"Oh, it won't be long now before another white boy is added to our family," Erica said, rolling her eyes. "I can hear the wedding bells."
"Erica!" Sue hissed and then tried to whisper. "You know that's illegal."
"I highly doubt that's ever stopped Eddie," Erica said.
"Don't act like you didn't cry when they were both in the hospital," Lucas said.
"Shut up, butt much," Erica said.
"Make me, nerd!"
"You're the nerd!"
"Erica! Lucas!" Sue snapped.
Eddie watched Steve as he watched his siblings argue. He loved the fond expression on his face. It was so cute.
"Oh, please, you'd love to have me as a brother in law, Erica. Think of all the benefits you could reap in Hellfire," Eddie said.
"I'm listening," Erica said as she stopped throwing her bread at Lucas.
"Hey!" Lucas snapped. "What about me?!"
