Holy Shiitake! I’m now an official mushroom (mini) farmer! 🤓👍 . VIP surprised me & my project management skills by sending four (4!!) @farwestfungi mushroom mini farms last week—& they’re already poppin’! 😮 . First shiitake harvest just completed—looks like mushroom tacos for dinner tonight! & many more nights in future 😆 . The other mini farms of lion’s mane & yellow & pink tree oyster mushrooms are already fruiting, but still a few days away from harvesting. . This fun guy’s about to be up to his gills in fungi! 🤪 Just wish I could share the bounty with the sender 🤔 . #AlwaysHaveMushroomInMyHeartForYou #SporedOuttaMyMind #CapAndTrade #AintNoPartyLikeAFunGuyParty #Mushrooms #きのこ #Champignons #Shiitake #椎茸 #Fungi #FungiPhotography #MushroomMiniFarm #NorCal #Zone9bGardening #Zone9b #Permaculture https://www.instagram.com/p/CZvR7pwFvx7/?utm_medium=tumblr

The pandemic year ends with a tokenized carbon cap-and-trade solution
Tumblr media
It has been a blazing start to a new decade, with 13% more large, uncontrolled wildfires around the world this year compared with 2019. This has spelled dire consequences for CO2 levels, which have made worse a terrible COVID-19 pandemic that has led to unprecedented worldwide lockdowns that have rapidly pushed the economy toward digitization. Related: How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected the crypto space? Experts answer As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, governments around the world have been forced to focus on integrating blockchain technology into their financial services. At the 75th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly, Sky Guo, a founding member of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum and co-founder of Cypherium — an enterprise-focused platform facilitating interoperability between blockchains and central bank digital currencies, or CBDCs — discussed how the next generation of foreign policy leaders can leverage emerging digital technologies to solve the world’s most pressing challenges, given that 80% of world central banks are evaluating adopting CBDCs. Related: Not like before: Digital currencies debut amid COVID-19 Switching to CBCDs and a world financial infrastructure that heavily relies on blockchain technology can nevertheless have a formidable impact on CO2 levels all over the world if the electricity used for energy is produced from coal or other fossil fuels that cause the highest levels of CO2 and other greenhouse gas Read the full article

What I’ve got planned....
I thought I’d look ahead for the month to come and give everyone a little taste of what to expect for some future blog posts. After working on an assignment for one of my classes I’ve been inspired by the carbon tax... as much resistance as it has been getting there’s a lot people don’t know or even understand about it. So, for my next post I’m going to give everyone a little insight on what the carbon tax is, how it works and what it can do four our country. Next I’m going to discuss the alternative to the carbon tax which is cap and trade. I’ll discuss the differences between cap and trade and the carbon tax and explain which is best for our country. I want to further explore cap and trade with a educational video that will really tie in everything that I’m going to blog about. Lastly, I’m going to keep up to date with daily pictures that best depict our beautiful environment and inspire me! I’ll be posting about the bigger topics weekly and will publish each post on Friday beginning in May.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford officially announced plans Tuesday to end the province’s cap-and-trade program.
The PC Party won a majority government after campaigning on axing the program, which forced large companies to buy allowances for their carbon emissions. Ford says in a new release that eliminating it will be the first step in lowering gas prices by 10 cents a litre and curbing other…

HPCA Director Robert Stavins Shares Insights on Carbon Pricing and Carbon Markets at COP 28 Side Event
HPCA Director Robert Stavins shared his thoughts on the promise and peril of greenhouse gas markets for reducing methane emissions during a side event on Wednesday (Dec. 6) at COP 28 in Dubai.
The event, titled “Transforming High Global Warming Potential Sectors through Carbon Markets,” was hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and took place in the ADB Pavilion in the Blue Zone.
Stavins was joined by fellow panelists Molly Peters-Stanley, Carbon Market Lead, US State Department; Thomas Forth, German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK); and Maiko Uga, Program Manager for International Carbon markets, Global Environmental Bureau, Ministry of the Environment, Japan. The discussion was moderated by V.K. Duggal, Principal Climate Change Specialist at ADB.
Stavins spoke about the opportunities and challenges of using carbon pricing and carbon markets to reduce methane emissions. He also delivered remarks about Harvard’s new initiative on reducing global methane emissions, which he described as a “broad-based multidisciplinary approach” designed to “foster new knowledge and meaningful action” under the auspices of the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability at Harvard.
Bruno Carrasco, ADB Director General, delivered opening remarks at the event.

fly ass juicy beat by @JemskiChan!! video & recording by @OutDuhBoxMedia of a song i wrote [for, and produced by, KissTheSky and @IndigenousRising] to challenge the violent hypocrisies of the #UNREDD program and limits of the #ParisAgreement. according to #TomGoldtooth (@dallasgoldtooth) director of #IndigenousEnvironmentalNetwork, “Instead of cutting CO2 and #greenhousegas emissions, the #UN, the US, the #EU, #China, #Norway and #ClimateCriminals like @BP, @Total, @Shell, @Chevron, @AirFrance and #BHPBilliton are pushing a false solution to #climatechange called REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation). #REDD is a #carbonoffset mechanism which privatizes the air that we breathe and uses Forests, agriculture and Water ecosystems in the #GlobalSouth as sponges for industrialized countries’ #pollution, instead of cutting emissions at source. REDD brings trees, soil, and Nature into a commodity trading system that may result in the largest #landgrab in history. It steals (y)our future, lets polluters off the hook and is a new form of #colonialism.
