Quote
Capitalists don't want market economies, where they have to compete with one another, eroding their margins and profits – they want a planned economy, like Amazon, where Party Secretary Bezos and his commissars tell merchants what they can sell and tell us what we must pay…

ADHD is a spectrum
I'm so tired of my dad sending me ADHD TED talks and people in general who make it seem like everyone's experience with ADHD is the same. like no Dad just because this rich white guy works a 9 to 5 doesn't mean I can. just because my older sister was amazing at school even with ADHD doesn't mean I can suddenly understand everything and sit still for 8 hours. I have been really struggling with finding my place in the ADHD community because i can't see myself with the representation we have.
all the representation is someone that can fix there with a timer or a Chrome extension (not saying they don't have ADHD or it's their fault I'm happy they found a way to make life easier just that I wish that wasn't the only kind of person give a platform, make it seem that EVERYONE with ADHD just needs to use a clock). I have watched all these people be able to succeed. I did everything they said and nothing worked. it gave me the idea that I must be doing this to myself, I must be failing on purpose, and others to just say I'm not trying the only reason I'm failing is because I'm not trying. honestly, the only thing I want is for more than one type of person with ADHD to be the representation. it feels like it is just the one person who can take care of themself and feed the capitalist hellscapes that is America. it feels like with this image of ADHD people can say "ADHD? a disability? Have you tried this app with everything behind an expense paywall? you have? Oh well then try harder next time, you just need more discipline/You're just being lazy stop using it as a crutch.". it reminds me of that one tweet of a person saying "You guys don't take shower when you're depressed, gross. well, I've been depressed and I was taking showers, you're just being lazy". I also see this happen to other disabilities, now instead of a white boy who struggles with school. it's now the white boy and white woman who was a gifted kid. both suck because it is a generalization. it honestly feels let it's going backward, it feels like it trying to be more palatable, now instead of a loud boy who can't sit still, it is the quiet white girl who is good at school.
I wish I had someone say "Hey, it's okay you can't do this it's not "giving'' up, it's knowing your boundaries. just because you can't do this thing means you are a failer. you can be disabled and that it, you don't need to be constantly trying to "fix" yourself to be more useful to others. can't is not a bad word, you do not have to use the word yet. it's okay to be in your comfort zone. your goal is to help yourself make life easier" and say "Oh you can't do this problem okay, how can I accommodate your disabled" instead of just saying "Try again" or " I can't always help you, you need to get ready for the real world no one going to help you there".

Ppl (and sometimes whole history TEACHERS) will just say « communism failed and can never work and is inherently authoritarian » as if that’s wasn’t an highly ideological unnuanced take on the history of the 20th century and blatantly western centered
