to be honest I always disliked seamonkeys partly because it just came up as a way to get sun out of the way of bb so I would hate for it to ever be canon and yeah on the 2nd part because I have seen lots of people say that about any close friendships between men which I feel contribute to how guys tend to being too intimate because they are scared of seeming gay (while girls in turn are able to be intimate with each other without it coming off like that due to being seen as more emotional etc)

so basically there are times where if 2 girls have a close scene it would be brushed off but if its between a guy and a girl or two guys it can be seen as something more

you know the final shot in episode witch reminds me of the shot in v3 when ozpin fought cinder ( also remember how people talked about the parallels ozma and pyrrha you could say there are also parallels with oscar and pyrrha given how they are both making the choice to lose their identity's ( go through with a merge for the safety of others ( with oscar he is using magic

Yeah, there’s a lot of little parallels here between this fight and the two final fights of the Fall of Beacon. 

I can’t help think that it’s because this is our first fight with Salem, and we’re supposed to be drawing comparison between her and Cinder. It’s clear that a lot of what Cinder knows comes from Salem, and it seems that some of that is fighting style too. 

But also I can’t help but think of the fact that Jaune has not visibly left the whale and this fight is paralleling the last two times he wasn’t present for a fight.

what are your thoughts on the theory that Keith will get together with Acxa and Lance with Allura, mirroring the friendship Alfor and Zarkon had This show is all about parallels, and with Allura slowly coming around to Lance and Acxa potentially attracted to Keith, the two pairs getting together would serve as a rather striking parallel to Alfor and Zarkon, heads of the Alteans and Galra respectively, while reflecting a rivalry that has turned into a friendship.

I think that’s a pretty shallow parallel, and a significant stretch. It’s asking me to see two separate potential romantic couples as akin to a single platonic friendship.

I don’t have many more thoughts than that, as I think it’s a hell of a reach, and even if either of those two pairings end up together it wouldn’t be a parallel to Alfor and Zarkon. I wouldn’t even bother addressing this theory if you hadn’t asked; there’s so little weight to it I’d dismiss its validity out of hand.

If there is a parallel to Alfor and Zarkon among the characters it’s Keith and Lance. Allura even makes that explicit in s3e2 ‘Red Paladin’, where she tells Lance that the Red Lion has accepted him as its paladin because he showed loyalty to Keith as the new Black Paladin. The comparison is that although Alfor built the lions and Voltron he saw that Zarkon would make a better leader than him and so made the choice that was best for his team.

All that said. I have no objections to any of those pairings developing strong platonic bonds. I actually think that would be the best outcome for Lance with regard to his feelings for Allura - and Allura is really in a place where she could use a good friend right now.

I’ve made my opinions on a\\urance very clear in other posts of mine. tldr: it’s a really bad pairing in canon, but w/e, Lance’s arc demands that it not work out for a successful conclusion.

I have no problem with kaxca, but I think it much more likely that they’ll turn out to be siblings. Y’all gonna get Luke&Leia’d up in here.

If you want to know what I think the endgame ships will be?Lotura, Plance, and Hunay. I think we’ll probably have an open-ended Sheith as well, but I doubt the writers will be able to make it explicit, considering how hard they had to fight just to make Shiro gay.

on why star was able to disintegrate toffeee but not able to defeat meteora I have to point out that meteora is stronger than toffee when toffee was able to beat moon in her butterfly form he was using magic he had the wand while toffee was hit full on and wasnt using magic (marco was able to punch through toffees body)

2/2 I mean meteora had gained a massive powerup thanks to absorbing souls which is something that didnt seem to happen with toffee

what are your thoughts on the scene in harry potter deathly hollows where ron tells harry "you dont know what it feels your parents are dead you have no family"

I think that Ron was injured, hungry, tired, incredibly stressed, under a lot of pressure, terrified for his family’s safety, felt like he wasn’t being useful and wasn’t getting anything done, and was fully expecting to hear a death report at some point. He was also wearing the Horcrux at the time, which twists a person’s mind and makes them think, say, and do things they never would otherwise. Look at Ginny in COS and Harry when he’s wearing the Horcrux, or the locket when it’s protecting itself during the destruction scene: they’re bad shit, man. It was obviously an absolutely terrible thing to say, but it’s not like it’s not semi-understandable in context. 

From his perspective, Harry had just blown off a report of his younger sister getting caught and captured at a school run by Death Eaters and headed by Snape, the man who killed Dumbledore. Harry focused on the good part of the report (her punishment being detention in the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid), while Ron was focused on the fact that his sister was essentially caught by Death Eaters fuelling insurrection and rebellion. Not to mention the situation he knew his father was in and the fact that his whole family (save Percy) was in the Order and actively fighting. Hermione’s parents were safe in Australia and Harry’s were already dead and he’d never known them; from Ron’s perspective, with the pressure and stress he’s under and with a mind manipulated by the Horcrux, he’s got a hell of a lot more to lose than Harry does. It’s not difficult to see that the horrible circumstances Ron was under influenced him (and Harry) to say things that he didn’t mean in the heat of the moment while he was worrying over his sister’s safety.

they can say that all they like but we also have the constant theme of what monty had said, in that queer rep needed to be earned (unlike cishet rep i guess?), & how that attitude has remained pervasive for years after his death.

crwby can say queer characters will be in the show, but that doesn't erase the harm that the queerbaiting they've already done & the way they've treated already queer characters, of which there are few, & it would be laughable to think otherwise.

this also doesn't even get into theirs & the company's treatment of actual queer people under their employ. kdin has come out to say that the "crwby" fans have in their mind when they're so desperate to dissect them from rooster teeth as an entity, doesn't exist. they were all complicit or outright guilty of the queerphobia exposed en masse later last year.

what crwby says & what they actually do are two completely different things entirely & the sooner people come to grips with that, the sooner this conversation can actually be had seriously.

on the theodore arc theory did btd add to that theory

Honestly? Yeah. 

Theodore is basically everything I expected from Papa Arc. He’s very blunt, he’s slow to give praise, but at the same time can be over-enthusiastic. He definitely feels like the sort of man who would say confidence is a key to a woman’s heart, because he is utterly brimming with it. 

Just the fact that he’s so lean with his praise, and has such high expectations for his pupils.... if that translates to Theodore’s style of parenting, then I can easily see his kids having the same sort of insecurities as Jaune. 

Also, the only physical description of him, besides talk about his muscles and his build, state that he has blue eyes and dark hair. You’d think dark hair would count him out of being the father of a brood of blondes, but the oldest figure in the Arc Family Photo we see in Volume 6 is a blonde woman. We’re still not sure if that’s Jaune’s sister or his mom, but she looks significantly older than next-oldest person in that picture, so I’ve always leaned towards Mom. 

Which does beg the question of where the seventh sister is in that photo, if that is Mama Arc.

probably not well. i think he might have more composure than the girls purely because in that moment, they needed him more than he needed that emotional outlet but make no mistake the moment he was alone, he would be having that high key mental breakdown.

i could also probably see a return of his depressive state or honestly just full blown dissociation at this point, we can tell from the show that it probably doesn't look like he's gotten over summer at all or even attempted to. he just pushed it all down & locked it away so he could raise their daughters instead.

I doubt that the woman is the Spirit of Choice. From what little we’ve seen, she only meet the King once before the scene in the screenshot, while a Spirit would be present pretty regularly. 

I have however seen the theory that Glynda is the Spirit of Choice, and although I don’t think that’s the direction they’re going in, it would be a really cool direction to go in.
