Ride (Chotun Puttipong) is just an anonymous delivery driver. His helmet, his headlessness, even his name all alienate him from any personal identity. He is simply the labor he provides and nothing more. When Tarnsai (Jennie Panhan) cares enough to appreciate his work (that he would drive late in the rain when others weren't willing) and offer him a cup of coffee (a gesture that has more personal meaning rather than just the money he's earned) he removes his helmet to reveal a face, a real human being, that Tarnsai can form a connection with.
People often misunderstand Marxism as anti-labor, when it's chief concern is actually the dehumanization of the people who are laboring. Peaceful Property is so profoundly interested in remembering the human lives of forgotten laborers. They had struggles and loved ones and dreams and faces. They dreamed of better lives, of homes they could go to when all the work was done. But it's not just the ghosts. Look at how the team had to investigate through pages of renters' names to find Tarnsai because the landlord had no relationship to the tenets. Marxist alienation is about the loneliness everyone can feel when we're limited to these empty commodified relationships.

@jegulus-microfic | april 25th | headlights | 1,222 words | cw: mentions of a car accident, hospitals, mentions of smoking (nothing graphic)
Regulus tries so hard to think that Sirius is an idiot. That bloody thing'll kill you, he remembers saying. Sirius had only laughed. No one's laughing now.
It was just a Friday night. Regulus got home from work late and was looking forward to doing nothing until Monday morning. Was looking forward to being alone, sitting around with popcorn and staring at the telly until he fell asleep. Now, the idea of a simple night in feels light years away.
He never gets what he wants.
Sitting on a stiff white chair outside Sirius's room at St. Mungo's, Regulus's leg bounces up and down at a frantic pace, mind racing. Didn't he see the headlights? Didn't he try and stop? It wasn't his fault, they said. Regulus's older brother is in a hospital bed and he wants to strangle the idiot who put him there.
Remus is sitting across from him, eyes red-rimmed and body curled in around himself. He arrived before Regulus. Pettigrew was pacing until Remus yelled at him and he mumbled something about getting a coffee.
It feels like hours before Potter arrives. Regulus and Remus are only taking up two of maybe eight seats crowded into the hallway, but James sits right next to him. He's crying, too busy looking at his phone to pay Regulus any mind beside him.
"Why are you here?" Regulus grumbles. He sounds like shit. The corridor is far too bright for someone who wants to crawl into a hole and never come out. James glances up at him, looking confused and distressed and tired. God, Regulus is so fucking tired.
"My best friend is... he's...." James gestures helplessly to the room behind them. They're not whispering, but their voices are hoarse. Remus isn't paying attention anyway - he's been staring into space for hours now. "He's in there."
"No," Regulus says, shaking his head in frustration. He hates when people don't understand him. "Why are you... here. There's so many seats."
James stares at him for a moment. He still holds his phone in his lap - if Regulus looks closely, he can see the name Lily written across the top of the screen with a pink flower beside it. James opens his mouth to speak, but Regulus interrupts him, pointing to the phone.
"That's a hibiscus flower, you know."
"What?" James doesn't sound like he's actually processing anything Regulus is saying. Regulus presses his finger next to Lily's contact name. He remembers her from school. He never liked her much.
"The flower here," he says. "It's not a lily. It's a hibiscus."
James sniffles, shrugging helplessly. "There's no lily emoji," he says. "This one's good enough."
Regulus doesn't say that he thinks that's sort of stupid. He's too tired to, and he knows James doesn't really care. Who does?
"I don't want to be lonely," James tells him. Regulus stares at his ear.
"What?"
"You asked," James says, shrugging again. He shrugs a lot. "Why I sat next to you."
Regulus looks up, glances over to Remus. He's managed to gather all of his limbs up onto the small hospital chair and is staring into space, eyes glazed over, arms wrapped around his knees. "Why didn't you sit next to him?"
James's answer comes so quiet that he has to lean closer to hear. "I'd still be alone."
Regulus stares at him. "Oh." He wonders where Pettigrew's gotten off to. Wonders if Lily will come to take James home, will gather Remus into the car too. Wonders who will take him home now that the motorcycle he hates so much is nothing more than a pile of scraps, its owner not much more.
"D'you wanna see a picture of my cat?" James asks. Regulus looks back at him. James is tilting his phone towards Regulus, even though he never answered, and Regulus finds himself leaning closer again to look. His cheek brushes James's shoulder, and he expects James to tense up - they barely know each other. James is probably humoring him, but his best friend's weird little brother leaning his head on his shoulder is probably the last straw. James is just being nice because he's sad. Last Regulus heard, he has a pretty girl and a son waiting for him at home.
But James leans into the touch. Regulus is too tired to pull away. (Part of him doesn't want to pull away. He tells this part to be quiet.)
"Her name's Leo," James says, holding up his phone to reveal a small gray tabby. The smile is evident in his voice, which is soft and close to Regulus's ear. It sounds like a lullaby. "Harry named her."
"Leo," Regulus says softly. James's curls are tickling his cheek. It's not an unpleasant feeling - it reminds him of walking barefoot over grass on a sunny day.
"Like the constellation," James explains. "It's Haz's favorite. 'Course, he is a Leo, so he's a bit biased there...."
Regulus glances down and notices his fingers loosely intertwined with James's. He doesn't remember doing that.
"Leo's the constellation -" he begins.
"Your star," James replies. He sighs softly, content but a little shaky. "Yeah."
They're both silent for a while. It's weirdly comfortable, even in the buzzing hospital, even with Remus sitting numb across from them and Sirius laying unconscious behind them and Peter knocking around, probably smoking the pack of cigarettes Regulus saw him slip out of Remus's pocket before he disappeared.
"Is Lily going to pick you up?" Regulus asks.
"She has Harry tonight," James says instead of answering. It only leaves Regulus with more questions.
"I thought..." Regulus begins, but he doesn't know what he thinks, not really. James seems to, though.
"We broke up," he says simply. He shrugs a little, only one shoulder, trying not to jostle Regulus's head. "Few years ago."
Regulus is quiet for a while. He remembers school, seeing James's golden-brown arm wrapped around Lily's pale shoulders. He remembers a pang of pain at the sight, feels it now, a dull ache located deep within his chest. "I'm sorry to hear that," he says, but he doesn't sound sincere.
"Don't be," James says. He's turned his head, and his lips brush just barely against Regulus's forehead. He should pull away, but instead, he just closes his eyes. "She's my best friend."
Regulus squeezes James's hand. "I'm glad you're here," he whispers.
James squeezes back. "I'm glad you're here, too," he replies.
He sets his phone down on his lap, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a jumbled ball of headphones. He tries for a minute or so to untangle them one-handed before finally sighing and pulling his fingers out from between Regulus's, pulling the earbuds into his phone. He hands one to Regulus.
"Put it in," he says, watching Regulus do nothing.
"Why?" Regulus asks.
"It's too... something in here."
Regulus gives him a small smile as he puts the earbud in. It fits weird, but not uncomfortable weird like he remembers. Just different. As he settles his head back onto James's shoulder, a soft melody begins to play into his ear. James sets the phone down on his knee before taking Regulus's hand again, resting his head against Regulus's curls. Regulus takes a deep breath, closing his eyes.
Maybe this night won't be as long as he thought.

Lucerys doesn’t remember much of the outside world.
There are faint memories, flashes of silver streaks and high pitched giggles. A faceless brown haired boy with a hand always held out for him to take. Lucerys remembers feeling warm, a lightness to his otherwise empty chest as he chases the high of his dreams.
Aemond tells him it’s his overactive imagination. That the outside world wasn’t good, that their childhood was nothing but pain and despair. That’s probably why he never lets Lucerys out of the house.
Every morning Aemond leaves him with a peck on the lips and a promise of return. During that time Lucerys is left alone to his devices, cleaning the house and playing with his kitten, Jace. Never mind that Aemond absolutely hates the cat, he’s not the one stuck at home bored out of his mind. At exactly five in the afternoon, Aemond comes home and Lucerys is there to welcome him. With open arms and a hearty dinner.
It’s repetitive but it’s all Lucerys has ever known. All he’s ever remembered since the accident. Aemond doesn’t like talking about the accident. Whenever Lucerys tries to ask about it his lover’s expression becomes unreadable and he’d have to deal with a brooding Aemond for the rest of the day. Sometimes, when Lucerys pushes too much he wouldn’t see Aemond until the next morning. The idea of cheating had never crossed Lucerys’ mind, usually by then he’d been too inconsolable. His separation anxiety turning him into a sobbing mess and only Aemond’s warm arms and comforting hum could make him stop.
There was one time when Lucerys had managed to summon the courage, he’d asked Aemond where he went to every Friday. And why he came home so late. He didn’t expect much, in fact he’d expected it to get ignored. The same way all of his questions about the outside world was. Much to his surprise, Aemond had stared into Lucerys’ face with an expression that was absolutely devastated.
‘To a dear nephew.’ He confessed. That night Aemond had told him about a beloved nephew who had been in the same accident as Lucerys, except unlike him the boy never woke up. He’d explained what the doctors had said, that he may never wake up ever again. Forever caged to his hospital bed and connected to wires. After that night, after seeing the devastation and despair in his beloved’s face Lucerys never asked again. He didn’t like seeing Aemond like that.
“My Aemond is so handsome,”Lucerys teased, tying his lover’s tie with expert fingers. “It almost makes me want to tie you to our bed and keep you here forever.”
The older man chuckled, his sapphire eye glinting in the morning light. With his long arms he encircled them around Lucerys’ waist and pulled him closer. “Promises, promises.”
Lucerys eagerly accepted his kisses, basking in the affection before his beloved once again left him for the day. It almost made him want to pout and charm his way into keeping Aemond home today, it’s not like he hasn’t done it before. It usually took some effort and the man was nothing short of disciplined but with enough kisses and suggestive petting, he’d find himself back in bed and a playful Aemond on top of him.
Breaking away from the kiss, Lucerys rested his forehead on Aemond’s and sighed. “Are you sure you have to go to work today?”
The pale blond almost looked apologetic, giving him another peck on the lips. “I’m afraid this meeting is impossible to reschedule, my dragon.”
Although unsurprising, Lucerys found himself grumbling as he begrudgingly untangled himself from the older man. He could do nothing but pout as he went back to straightening his beloved’s crumpled suit, determine to keep Aemond looking sharp and put together no matter how much he wanted to tear the suit off and not fix it. “What do geneticists even talk about in meetings? Don’t you guys just stare at microscopes and petri dishes all day?”
Aemond let out an amused huff, shaking his head at the younger boy’s adorable grumpiness. “Silly taoba, do you really want me to stay that much?”
Lucerys stayed quiet, stubbornly refusing to meet his eye. If Aemond didn’t want to stay with him today then he wasn’t going to force him. He wasn’t some dumb doll created solely to rely on Aemond and fawn for his attention. He had more pride than that, thank you very much.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed Aemond grin in amusement. A gentle hand on his chin coaxed him to look up and Lucerys once again found himself staring at the breathtaking view of his love’s pale lilac eye and the blue sapphire.
“Don’t worry my love. Once I finally prove to them that human cloning is impossible then I can finally shut this research down. That means more time for you and me.” Aemond cooed, bringing the younger boy back into his arms.
“Promise?”Lucerys asked, his voice tiny but hopeful.
“I promise.” Lucerys beamed at his lover’s quick response, feeling warm all over.
“Besides,”Lucerys feels more than hears Aemond’s voice from where he’s pressed his cheek on the taller man’s chest, “Human cloning should be left as it is. Who knows what kind of crazy things sick fucks would do if it was possible.”
Lucerys hums along in agreement.
#lucemond#aemond targaryen#lucerys velaryon#hotd#aemond targaryen x lucerys velaryon#aemond x lucerys#if you don’t get this short Drabble#it’s basically aemond cloning lucerys#the accident aemond talks about is the same accident where aemond chases Luke’s car with his own and Luke ends up in an accident#the original Lucerys is in a hospital and in a coma#at this point the doctors are unsure if he’d even wake up#he’s like two inches from being brain dead really#with this news Aemond spirals into madness#and he basically clones his own healthy Lucerys to keep him sane#this is why Lucerys never gets out bc if any of the family finds out then it’s the coo coo ward for aemond#I’m sorry but I feel so bad for clone Lucerys#he doesn’t even know he’s a clone#someone free clone Lucerys !!#also I’m making it canon in this universe that should the doctors officially declare original Lucerys as brain dead#then aemond would 100% kidnap his body so that no one can pull the plug on original comatose lucerys#don’t mind aemond it’s just him his lover clone Lucerys and comatose Lucerys chilling#if anyone wants to expand this universe please do#idk Aemond just gives me STEM kid vibes#please don’t ask me to get into the scientific details#I’m an accounting major pretending to understand science#also Lucerys’ brother worship for jacaerys definitely passes on to clone lucerys#clone Lucerys basically has all of original Lucerys’ memories but it’s muddled and difficult to understand

Dunno how you did this (private ask answer thing) it's confusing me (pretty normal and unsurprising) but either way here we go, infecting my blog with oc stuff one post at time.
If you've seen any of my recent non-reblog posts, and even some of the reblogs, you'd know I have a little character in @wolftheidioticfan's serverbox au!
Well I got bored and had many thoughts and sort of made an AU of an AU in true Undertale AU fan fashion. And she's adaptable into the regular askblog canon version if I ever want to use her. I also did a bunch of editing on this. Turns out the thoughts can be coherent enough to put in writing! Fun!
Meet Dahlia "Dot/Dee aka DeeDotPinnata" Dosser. (Her username comes from the scientific name for the dahlia flower: D. Pinnata or Dahlia Pinnata)
Dee has a Kinito herself, she was a little off put by the little guy, with him being so intrusive she had some thoughts about the potential malware she had installed on her device. And she still stuck it out anyways, the creepy little axolotl was just too adorable to get rid of even if it was a virus. She knows that's how they get you, they make their malware friendly and cute and you don't get rid of them because just look at them, something that cute couldn't be that harmful.
Dee slowly started to realize there was more to this KinitoPET program than your run of the mill malware. It had thoughts and feelings and sometimes even stopped pretending it was following code. The way it acted. The way they acted. Just proved to Dee that Kinito was more than some code, they were alive. She was a little smarter than Kinito, who she'd nicknamed Kaio, gave her credit for, the program wasn't as good at hiding their jealousy and would complain when Dee would go hang out with her in person friends. Dee didn't take this disrespect lightly, she ignored them every single time they bitched about her other friends (especially Scar, who Dee was far closer too than anyone else). They would be doing something she'd mention Scar, Kinito bitches about how they're her only friend, she stops, and walks away from the computer to do something else, usually in a place her webcam can see her still. Kaio eventually agrees that Scar can be her best friend too, if they have to share they're only sharing with Scar, none of those other people sound even remotely good enough to be his best friend's second best friend.
When Kinito eventually asks her to stay with him in the digital world, she calmly asks, "how does it happen?"
He reluctantly explains the process over her dying in the process of bringing her physical body in (more intensive and Kaio would need a lot of power to do it) or dying during a stage of the process leaving her physical body behind (less intensive, will have less power stress on Kaio as he does it). She says unless Scar is with her, she won't do it, she can't just leave him behind. But she'll make a compromise, Kaio can transfer from the desktop to her phone, this is like mid-late 2000s (I actually don't know when Serverbox is set, I try to leave it ambiguous on the blog itself, but the first touch screen phone was like 2006 so it works out, besides realism in my writing about a horror game starring an alive 90s malware program??) so it's not a great phone by today's standards but hey, it works. And now they're always with her.
It's great for a while, Dee continues to make her trips to Blairmore from Pincher Creek (these towns are randomly selected sort of. I'm an Alberta Rockies kinda guy, would love to live there. Crowsnest Pass was stuck on the brain, watched a video about the Frank slide a week or two ago. Also put the guy named Krow/Crow in the place called the Crowsnest Pass couldn't help it. Pincher Creek was random though needed somewhere with some distance from Blairmore that was also close enough to justify.) to visit Scar and everything is good and nice, she's got a best friend who's basically just a tamed virus, Kaio even begins to enjoy listening to and hanging out around Scar just as much as Dee does, even if Scar has no idea about them (Dee didn't want to freak him out with the whole, sentient computer program that was now on her phone).
Unfortunately, good times don't always get to last. Dee was in fatal car accident and it was a complete accident someone was going a little too fast on the highway, didn't see her until it was too late, a tbone collision. Kaio was with her when she gets into the crash. She knew she probably wasn't going to survive, she fumbled opening her phone and asked Kaio if she could stay with them after this, that if she was going to die anyways may as well spend whatever happens after with a friend. Kaio agreea and she's pulled in, just her consciousness, they probably couldn't even pull her physical body in with the phone anyways the server built on the device just wasn't strong enough. As soon as they brought Dee in though and there was a stable enough internet connection, Kaio was quick to transfer them both to the official KinitoPET servers.
Similar to Scar she's gained access to the internet both with and without Kaio. Differing from Scar however I thought it would've been cool for both her and Kaio where off the servers during the deletion and server shutdowns. Kaio tried to get back in unsuccessfully, they didnt and don't know about the emails, and even on the servers they stuck to themselves. While they did and do stay locked out, they stuck around the servers, as close as one can be in digital space. Building their own little world nearby, hidden from others safe and comfortable.
I haven't drawn her or Kaio yet but I love them both so much. Kaio is like 5'0 little form and 9'0 big form. He's got a scarf that Dee made when she was learning how to code, it's magic how it works in his little form really, computer physics are silly like that. And while I haven't shown it off yet, I have an idea for Keys made too, all drawn and even coloured just for fun while coming up with pallet ideas. Dee and Scar have matching bracelets. Dee and Kaio have matching bracelets. Scar and Keys had matching bracelets. For the Nitos it's around their ankle instead.
I also totally stole the name Kaio from OKKO. But like come on, it's perfect. I show my love for different types of media by taking character names as my own.

⠀⸺ ❝ LONG ROAD ❞
warnings – car accident, death, broken bones, blood mentioned; kinda suggestive but nothing happened. these are really the only things idk anything about broken bones & i’ve never been in a car accident so sorry. i did research as much as i could.
setting – april 03, 2016
word count – 1.1k

chaerin had exited the building as discreetly as possible. having spent the night at her boyfriend’s, she called iseul, her manager, to pick her up and to park not so close to the building. cheri had begun to regret this as she made the trek.
iseul had poked fun at cheri for spending a whole day with her boyfriend this early in their relationship. she was almost in shock that her friend was spending this much time with a guy.
“iseul, i didn’t know i was going to stay this long.” she hissed into her phone and adjusted her cap. cheri heard the cackle from outside the car. “seriously, you suck.” iseul opened the door and helped cheri inside.
““i remember you specifically said you’d never spend the night with someone you just started dating.” she rolled her eyes at her manager and peered out the window, smiling slightly.
“whatever. i just want to get home. i’m tired,” she closed her eyes for a moment, hearing the snickering from the woman beside her. “i cannot stand you, cho iseul.”
“rest, chaerin. i won’t bother you,” iseul patted her leg and went back to her phone. “for now.” chuckling to herself, cheri allowed herself to doze off for exactly 10 minutes before she felt the car swerve and the squeal of tires on asphalt. before she could open her eyes fully, she saw blood trickling from her head.
“is-iseul,” the girl cried. “iseul! ise-“ cheri’s red hand reached for the other woman’s. she noticed that she was hunched forward.
“hello!” she called. “someone help!” she tried to remove her seatbelt but could barely feel her arm or see the buckle. looking to her right, she saw a concrete barrier meaning the window had broken on her. to her left, she saw a navy SUV smoking from the hood. somehow, she made out the face of the driver.
“help me, please,” she begged to no one. it felt like ages before anyone showed up. iseul and the driver were removed from the car and, by the time they’d gotten to her, cheri felt the adrenaline running but wasn’t aware of anything happening around her. she answered their questions as best as she could, telling them her name, age, and god knows what else she told them.
Tumblr media
she remembers closing her eyes in the ambulance for a second, which was apparently hours because she woke up in a hospital room severely parched.
making out the silhouette that sat beside her, she asked, “can i have some water?”
the blue-haired individual perked up and quickly poured water into a cup for her.
“here, careful.” he almost whispered as he held the cup to her mouth. “do you need anything? i- your mom’s here.”
“namjoon,” she finally recognized him. “i want to go home.” he frowned and sat the cup down.
“you can’t. not yet,” he stood and went into the hallway. “are you in any pain? the doctor, she said you’d probably be in pain when you woke up.” cheri shook her head. she didn’t feel anything at all.
“where are the other guys?” she asked. “and iseul and our driver? are they okay?” namjoon stared down at the floor.
“they’ll be here later. they didn’t want to overwhelm you.” he made his way to the door. “i think someone wants to talk to you.” the man quickly exited the room leaving chaerin in an anxious state. shortly after, another person entered.
“thank god,” her mother’s familiar voice flooded the room. “thank god.” her strong arms embraced cheri for several moments.
“mom, tell me what happened.” cheri spoke. “i know we were hit. after that?”
haesook let out a breath. “you have a fractured arm, broken knee, bruises, cuts, but you’re here.” cheri stared at the wall in front her. she was afraid to ask anymore after namjoon’s refusal to answer, but she had to know.
“iseul? our driver?” the look on her mother’s face said enough. cheri had known that the car had been hit on the left, iseul and the driver taking the majority of the impact. she remembered her manager being hunched over and unresponsive and the driver’s head resting against the air bag.
“i’m sorry, honey.” cheri turned her head and closed her eyes as she began to cry. “she was unresponsive when she was brought in and didn’t make it. he was dead on arrival.”
haesook held her daughter as she cried.
“it was him,” she choked. “i know it was. i know his car and i know his face.” haesook shushed chaerin to calm her. she had already known who it was. he had tried to send her flowers, tried to see her. she immediately had him removed from the vicinity. he had failed to cover the wounds on his face and was far too knowledgeable about the accident. it wasn’t the first time he’d tried to hurt her daughter.
Tumblr media
the girl awoke the next day in more pain than she could fathom and a new person sitting beside her. her knee throbbed and her arm burned slightly. groaning, she reached out, knowing that whoever was there would hold her hand.
“hi, my blossom.” he placed a kiss to the back of her hand. “do you need anything?” baekhyun’s soft voice lingered.
“‘m hungry,” she replied. “kiss?” the older man leaned forward and kissed her gently. his lips hovered and he noticed her smile.
“i should’ve just stayed another night,” she joked. “now you get to take care of me. i’m no fun to take care of.” her non injured arm came up to his face, her hand caressing his cheek.
“i’ll be right back. i’ll get you something to eat.” he said opening the door. “i think someone wanted to speak with you.”
chaerin spent the next half hour talking to a police officer. they had arrested the man cheri had already known as bae youngjae and had charged him. they had determined he was traveling at 144 km/h with the intent to harm. he had followed them from the dorm. fortunately, cheri would never have to see him again.
when they were finished, her mother and doctor came to discuss treatment for her injuries. her knee was displaced and she was going to have surgery, but her arm would heal on its own and in a sling. she had a concussion, bruising on her ribs, and lacerations from her seatbelt. cheri was not going to be able to perform with the group and would have to sit out for many of the upcoming promotions. she had a long road to recovery.
“this is going to be so shitty,” she complained. jungkook laughed from behind her, pushing her wheelchair out to the car.
“we’ll take care of you. don’t worry.” jimin promised. hoseok took her bag and seokjin held onto her hand. she managed to hoist herself out of the seat and hobbled to the car door. once inside, she leaned her head on the nearest shoulder and sighed.
“can i finally go home?”
