You and Isaac had been having a sleepover, Derek being left in charge of watching the two of you. It had reached a point in the afternoon where the two of you had got tired and Derek asked if you guys needed a nap.

After a little convincing both you and Isaac agreed and so Isaac laid on the sofa, whilst you curled up on another sofa. The two of you quickly fell asleep.

Derek looked over to the two of you before going to get a couple of blankets for you. He went upstairs and went towards a cupboard.

"Hello Derek."

"Jeez! Peter.. Christ.. what are you doing?" Derek exclaimed.

"Nothing really. I was bored so I'm here" He answered.

"Okay well then be helpful and help me take some blankets downstairs"

"Why?"

"Because the kids are downstairs and asleep and it's getting cold..?"

"When you say 'the kids' do you mean like Scott and Stiles and the teenagers that for some reason are always here..? Or-"

"No dufus I mean I mean Isaac and Reader" Derek sighed.

"Oh, yeah okay in that case I can help"

Derek picked up a couple of blankets and started to hand some to Peter when a crash of thunder startled them.

"Oh no.." Derek mumbled.

"What..?"

"The kids.."

Peter and Derek quickly made their way downstairs, looking over to you and Isaac.

The two of you were huddled together, your hands were over the top of Isaacs over his ears - trying to help him muffle the noise.

"is okay Isa..." You whispered to him.

Derek and Peter approached the two of you.

"Kiddos..?" Peter quietly said.

"Mhm.." you muttered.

Peter looked at Derek and nodded.

Derek carefully removed your hands from Isacc, replacing it with his own. He looks at Isacc smiling softly, lightly tapping his hands against Isaacs to a beat, giving Isaac something to focus on and help him calm down.

Peter then gently took your hands and looks at you.

"Are you okay?"

"Too louds..."

"Oh sweetheart it's okay it can't hurt you.."

"Mmmm..."

"Come here.."

He carefully picked you up, bouncing you lightly in his arms.

After about 20 minutes of Derek calming Isaac and Peter calming you down the two adults decided on putting on a movie.

"What movie should we watch?" Derek asked.

"Aladdin..?" Isaac quietly asked.

You nodded eagerly.

Peter chuckled.

"Aladdin it is then"

Derek put on Aladdin and the four of you spent the rest of the evening watching Disney movies.

this kinda just turned into his whole loft hcs but shhh

1. What kind of bed do they sleep in? What size is it?

- it’s a king bed and it’s super comfortable, the right mix of squishy and hard for Derek to actually enjoy sleeping on it. it was a gift from Peter a couple months into them being more comfortable around one another after everything that happened, Peter had noticed that Derek wasn’t sleeping and while getting a new mattress didn’t fix the issue completely, it definitely helped

2. How many pillows do they sleep with? What’s the color of their pillows?

- there’s four pillows on his bed but he really only uses the two on the right side as that’s the side of the bed he sleeps on

3. How many blankets do they sleep with? What colors are they?

- his comforter is gray and he has one maroon red throw blanket that stays on his bed at all times. although he does have another throw blanket that’s crocheted and was saved from after the fire that Laura made that he keeps in his closet, he’s scared to ruin it so it only gets used if he really wants it

4. Where do they keep their clothes? How are their clothes organized?

- he has a dark wood dresser that’s from his time living in New York, he keeps it very organized but also makes sure to keep one of his drawers stocked with clothes for littles from the pack incase of emergency

5. What kind of light sources do they have? How many do they have? Why?

- since the loft has that huge window he doesn’t feel the need to have a lot of light sources. he obviously has main lights for each room, but other than that he just has a small bin of different light projectors & fairy lights that he may use while looking over someone in the pack

6. What colors are their bedroom walls?

- his bedroom has a darker gray color brick while his living room/rest of the loft have light gray brick, you can barely tell the difference but it’s there okay. he needs people to be aware of it.

7. What does their bedroom look like? What kind of furniture do they have in there? How big is it?

- the loft is extremely open so it’s not necessarily a bedroom but more of a section he’s deemed to be his bedroom. he can see into most of the loft from his bed which he likes, it’s easier to see danger coming, but also to see if any littles are causing chaos if he can’t be at their side

8. What kind of floor does their bedroom have? What color?

- they’re concrete but have built in heaters that he can change the temp of, yes they were expensive but so worth it (especially when he comes home to theo & malia curled up on the floor together)

9. Do they have any toys? Do they sleep with any of them?

- he has a toy bin he keeps at the end of his bed for the littles, it’s filled with plushies, action figures, dolls, toy cars, anything that can fit really. he had started it when Scott mentioned that the loft might be a nice place for the littles of the pack to come and relax, it’s grown immensely. some of the toys Derek hasn’t bought himself and they’ve just appeared but he never questions it. he takes time after the littles leave after a visit to clean them all with disinfectant wipes and spray, just so nobody has to worry about them potentially getting sick from a shared toy

10. Do they have any rugs? If so, what color are they?

- there’s a rug under his bed but it isn’t big, his floors being heated means he doesn’t need them aside for decoration

11. Are there any decorative elements to their bedroom? What are they? Why?

- not really, he’s a minimalist through and through, but there’s a couple things he keeps. he has picture frames saved from the fire he keeps on his dresser next to a few of the pack that Melissa got him, and he has a board hung up by his bed that has all of the postcards Cora’s sent him hung up, he likes to reread them at night when he misses her. and occasionally a little will draw him a picture that he happily hangs up on the fridge with magnets (he has a folder of all of them in his closet)

12. What are some of the things they do in their bedroom?

- technically all he does in his bedroom part of the loft is sleep, or read, but as for the rest he does just about anything. when he’s watching over littles he lets them have free range on the house aside from the kitchen since that can get dangerous, so there’s lots of games of hide & seek, they can set up huge race car tracks across his floor since it’s so open, Kira & Lydia like to have talent shows for their stuffed animals, Theo & Malia sometimes shift into their wolf form at the loft so they play fight if Derek allows it— he doesn’t have strict rules. If nobody’s getting hurt, offended, or being left out, than it’s most likely okay

13. Do they share their bedroom with anyone. If so, who?

- nobody sleeps there every night but sometimes littles will stay the night in the loft, they always have the choice of the couch, Derek’s bed, or the floor which is mainly just for Malia & Theo staying over

The Toy Doctor

Derek Hale on his knees and sobbing at her bedside was not what Melissa expected or wanted to experience at two in the morning. The man that had shook her awake had a death grip on her sheets and on the sleeve of her nightshirt. She hastily reached to turn on her lamp and was greeted by a surprising lack of blood. She sat up and scanned Derek over, searching for whatever could possibly be causing his current level of distress. A flash of white caught her eye when she glanced down. Getting a closer look, she furrowed her eyebrows. On the floor next to Derek was a white teddy bear. It looked old and worn down with love, which was probably why the arm of the toy was halfway detached.

A particularly loud sob drew her attention back to the werewolf next to her. She quickly connected the dots and started attempting to calm Derek down.

"Derek, you need to take deep breathes for me." she instructed. She placed a hand over the one clutching her sleeve as Derek tried to control his erratic breathing. After awhile, Derek's tears slowed, and he sluggishly wiped them away. "Care to fill me in on what all that was about?" she asked gently. Derek sniffled and picked up the bear, holding it against his chest.

"My bear." he whispered. His voice was softer than she had ever heard before.

"What about your bear?"

"He's hurt." Tears pricked the corners of his eyes. "Help him, please?"

Her heart melted a little as she looked at him. How could she possibly deny him?

"Alright," she agreed, "but we'll have to go downstairs. That's where my sewing kit is." Derek nodded fervently and jumped up, still holding onto Melissa's hand tightly. He bounced on the balls of his feet as she pushed the covers away with her free hand and stood up. Shaking her head affectionately, she lead him downstairs and prepared herself for a late night operation.

"So what happens now?" Stiles asks. "Are you staying in town until you get your memories back?"

"Yeah, the doctor wants me to stick around for a couple of weeks. I don't know. We got a place downtown, but it's—" Derek sighs. "Everyone feels like a stranger. I mean, they are strangers. I recognize the bonds with my pack, but I don't know them. Even Scott. It's so different."

More silence passes.

"You're the only person who really feels familiar to me," Derek says. However, it sounds somewhat reluctant, like he doesn't want to admit it. 

It's ridiculous how much Stiles's heart thrills at Derek's words, even as it aches. Then he reminds himself that he's dealing with someone with a traumatic brain injury who's had his whole world turned upside down. 

"Do you wanna hang out sometime?" Stiles asks, surprising himself. It wasn't what he'd intended on saying. His heart races, and he wills himself not to overthink it. It's probably not a good idea. In fact, it's probably selfish or something because Derek should be using this time to get to know his pack. Still, he genuinely wants to help Derek—even though he's sure it will blow up in his face. "I mean, you know, um—"

"Are you sure? I don't want to make things weird or awkward. I know this isn't easy on you. One thing I remember is the look on your face when you saw me that morning. You were…not happy." 

Stiles can't help but snort. "Oh, dude. You have no idea. And I'll be honest, I don't know how I really feel about it, but we were always there for each other."

"I don't want you to feel obligated either." 

"Derek." Stiles waits until Derek's looking him in the eyes. "Do you trust me?"

"More than anyone." 

"Then let me help you. We can hang out. It'll be like old times. Maybe we can go to dinner or something."

Derek nods. "Yeah. Okay."

They exchange numbers, and Stiles blows out a breath as they walk out of Derek's room. 

With one last glance at Derek before he heads home, Stiles can't help but think, what the hell am I getting myself into?

hello!!! first off i am -so- sorry for the inconsistent posting on this blog 😭 college is making me a wreck and second of all, thank u!!! no matter how inactive i am i am quite literally never abandoning this blog so dw about me leaving any time soon

hmm I'm pretty rigid when it comes to who I see as cgs, regressors and flips but Peter to me is definitely a caregiver! here are some headcanons I have regarding that ^^

CG! Peter Hale Headcanons

- He's an absolute goofball, the goofiest of goofballs if you will

- If you're regressed around him he wants nothing but giggles and smiles coming from you!

- To no surprise he's still the biggest tease, that won't change whether youre regressed or not

- He'll make small things a big deal! Did you scrape your knee? He'll most likely panic with you or joke about needing to cut your whole leg off (he's a little evil like that too)

- He'll love to show you off when you're regressed as well. You're his baby and he wants everyone to know it!

- A big love language for him is cooking. If you're not picky he'll cook you the most extravagant meals but he would never shame you for being picky or wanting "basic" or "plain" foods. Peter will cook you whatever you'd like.

- Adding onto that Peter loves to carry his little one while he's cooking! Showing them everything that goes into the process and asking you to put in basic things like salt or pepper.

- (Jj and I have talked in depth about this but) Peter looooves to pull pranks on the pack, especially his nephew Derek and you'll likely be his second in command while executing said pranks. Derek hates it.

- While this may not be the best approach to looking after a regressor, he's a firm believer in letting a little one figure things out on their own (within reason of course). He'll give you a warning if you're about to do something questionable but if you go along with it - like putting a pen in your mouth - he'll let you figure out how awful it tastes and the potential mess you're about to make. Derek also hates this.

Now, being in the pack (Especially with who else was in the pack) sometimes meant being made of tougher stuff.

There were multiple regressors and caregivers in the 'Mccall pack' and it meant that everyone tried their best to get on with each other, and just generally look after each other.

However that didnt stop the occasional fight.

Honestly Derek wasnt sure how it had got to this point. He had been watching Stiles and Isaac as they happily play with some small figures, in the corner of the room when Scott, Theo and Peter came into the room yelling at each other.

Isaac tensed up instantly, uncomfortable with the loud noise. Stiles had noticed and moved towards Isaac carefully, also uncomfortable with the noise.

Derek noticed the boys reactions and turned to the three men that had walked in.

He flashed his eyes at them, after turning away from Isaac and Stiles as to not scare them and spoke in a dangerously low tone.

"If you're going to keep fighting then. Get. Out. Now."

"Do not tell us what to do!"

"Go away!"

Theo and Peter half yelled, whilst Scott rolled his eyes.

Isaac flinched at the yelling and tucked himself into the corner more, Stiles instantly jumped back and stood protectively infront of him.

Scott noticed the boys and tapped Theos and Peters shoulders, pointing to Isaac who was now hiding behind Stiles.

"Lets take this elsewhere..." He mumbled, walking off.

The other two muttered apologies as they followed behind the alpha.

"...Boys are you okay?" Derek asked quietly, keeping his distance.

Stiles didn't budge, still standing as a shield to any danger for Isaac.

"You're safe, okay bud?" Derek spoke quietly again.

Stiles shook his head and slightly turned to Isaac.

"Isa? Okay??"

Isaac nodded his head, and held Stiles's hand.

Derek was happy that despite the interuption that had clearly brought unforgiving and negative memories to the surface for the youngest boy, that Stiles was able to comfort him, and just overall protect him.

When it comes down to it, the two boys would do anything to protect each other. Even if that meant standing in the way of danger or just someone yelling to protect the other from a potential threat. Even if they were scared themselves.

Derek’s hand twitches by his side, an urge to reach out and place it on Stiles’ shoulder, to stop and ask if he’s okay. As the mall trip progresses and the longer they spend walking through each store, the more exhausted Stiles looks.

It’s been at least three hours by now and while Kira’s finished up her shopping, including helping Scott pick out a new heft of clothes, Lydia’s gotten her selection of makeup bought; they’re all still trying to help Malia. This is the first time she’s been in a mall since she turned back into a human, it’s overwhelming for her, Derek can only imagine how her supernatural senses are making things sound and smell. Peters been helping Lydia guide Malia through what to buy, how to find the right sizes and what materials she likes, everything that’s needed for a successful shopping trip. And while Derek would love to indulge in seeing his uncle act so tenderly and be so welcomed by the pack, his mind keeps drifting to Stiles.

They drove here in Stiles’ jeep, just them two, and normally that’d mean Stiles would ramble happily to Derek, but today it was almost dead silent. Part of Hale had been worried it was because of their newest development in their relationship, him watching over Stiles when he’s regressed, but then Stiles had yawned loud enough for Derek to cue into what’s going on with him. He’s far too tired to be on a mall trip, never mind one that runs over three hours.

Derek knows he should take Stiles home and get him tucked into bed, let him sleep the rest of the weekend if he so pleased to. There’s still a hesitation to take that authority, to decide for Stiles, he doesn’t want to push too hard. Risk breaking the trust Stiles has put in him.

“Derek?” Peters voice drags Derek back to the store they stand in, he glances around a second to gain his bearings. Kira, Lydia and Malia are by the dressing room, Scott trailing behind them as he talks to Melissa on the phone, Derek can tell it’s Melissa because Scott never speaks that much Spanish with anyone else. Finally he lands on Stiles, where he leans heavily against the stores wall and struggles to keep his eyes open.

“Are you okay?” Peters hand is firm on Derek’s shoulder, gripping it the same way he did when they were kids, when Derek had been plagued by nightmares that made him scream out for Peter, for Laura, for Talia.

“I think I’m gonna take Stiles back to the loft, he needs sleep.” He thinks he sounds like they did, like Peter, Laura, and Talia did, making the decision for Derek that he needed to be looked after. Cared for. He wants to be that for Stiles, to be the safety he once needed and can now give.

“Okay, text me if you need anything. Take care of him.” Peter pats Derek’s shoulder before he stalks back over towards where Malia’s waving for him. Derek takes a breath to steady himself then turns on his feet to walk to Stiles.

“Stiles? Hey, hey, easy, just me.” Stiles jerks more awake when Derek shakes his arm slightly, watching how the brunettes eyes flick around quickly before settling on Derek’s face.

“We movin’ stores?” It comes out slurred and groggy, Stiles reaching to rub the sleep out of his eyes.

“We’re going home.” Derek keeps his voice as soft as he can muster without letting all his concern show through.

“We’re done?” He nods instead of trying to explain that they’re the only ones leaving, knowing that Stiles would just fight to stay and give a million reasons why he needs to be there. Derek always appreciates the stubbornness Stiles put up, it reminds him of himself, but Stiles isn’t in any state for an argument.

“Yeah bud, we’re done. I’m gonna take you back to my loft.” He takes Stiles hand when the little leans onto Derek’s shoulder, all his weight shifting to be against Hale. It breaks Derek’s heart. He wishes could scoop Stiles into his arms and carry him away, make sure he never exhausts himself like this again. He settles on squeezing Stiles’ hand tighter.

They make it to the loft with no complications. Derek’s even able to talk Stiles into riding on his back up the stairs so he could stay in the half asleep state he fell into on the ride back.

“There we go, comfortable?” He asks once he’s taken Stiles’ shoes off and laid him back in Derek’s large bed. He debated taking them back to the Stilinski house but figured they’d have less of a chance of getting interrupted here.

“Jeans aren’t.” A huff of a laugh escapes Derek, he nods before tuning over to his dresser. The bottom drawer has become Stiles designated drawer for all his little gear, it’s not a lot, nor does Derek think it’s enough, but he’s able to pull a pair of fleece pajama pants out and a pacifier Stiles adores.

“Here, now lay still as I get your jeans off.” The idea of causing some type of harm to Stiles or making him more uncomfortable pains Derek. He takes his time pulling the jeans off before slipping the fleece pants on. He darts his eyes up to Stiles as he works, watching with a small smile how Stiles happily sucks on the green pacifier that he’s taken to quickly.

“Feel better?” Stiles nods along before his arms open up, urging Derek to come lay beside him. Derek’s heart stops for a split second seeing it, knowing how much trust it takes for Stiles to be so vulnerable, he’s heard a couple times about how Stiles’ regression is something he doesn’t share with many. With anyone really, Scott and Lydia know, Alison knew, and now Derek knows. That’s it.

So Derek graciously shrugs off his jacket and climbs into the bed, allowing Stiles to curl into his side and place his head on Hales chest. It doesn’t take much longer for Stiles to fall asleep, his heartbeat and breath pattern even out, a comforting rhythm that Derek sits awake to listen to. He carefully moves to take the pacifier that’s gone slack out of Stiles’ mouth, placing it on the bedside table for when he wakes up, before Derek allows himself to drift off. He hopes Stiles feels the safety and security that in Hales arms that Derek did with his family after those nightmares, when he had caregivers looking after him.

Regressor Derek head canons : Food and drink habits

Derek isn't very picky about what he eats in either headspace, but he likes simpler foods like spaghetti and mac 'n cheese

He will throw a fit if he has to suffer through any of Stiles' 'healthy' meals tho. Soggy tofu and fake meat are some of his few dislikes, and that gets amped up to eleven when he's little

He goes absolutely bananas for applesauce

And watermelon. Most fruits really

He's a very messy eater no matter the food and has a tendency to get it everywhere. And i mean everywhere

Although, he makes an effort to be less messy when he gets to eat in the living room or in Stiles' room, and that effort shows when papa Stilinski is babysitting which makes Stiles ever so jealous

For the most part, he cooperates when getting cleaned up, but if he feels crabby or is upset with Stiles in his big headspace he'll put up a fight

Plain yogurt and granola is his go to snack

He has a secret love of banana baby food that he indulges in when he feels particularly little, sad or deserving of a treat

He once tried some of his cousins baby food when he was about 6 years olds because it smelled good and has loved it ever since

He prefers juice over milk during the day and milk in the morning or at night

Warm milk makes him sleepy

He becomes distraught if he accidentally spills his drink no matter how many times he is reassured that its okay and no one's mad
