magnus chase and the gods of asgard is refreshing in a way where no one is actually chasing after magnus and magnus isnt actively chasing after anyone else. like yea he drops subtle hints that he has feelings for alex but he doesn't even recognize or understand these feelings until the last 100 pages of the last book and he's a real one for that tbh

read some posts abt the new pjo book which ofc got me thinking abt smth completely different ahshdjdj
say what u want abt uncle rick but he’s never written the same romance twice. like think abt it:
slow burn rivals to friends to lovers who kinda go crazy when the other is taken / goes missing and it develops to the point where the boy would rather fall into the deepest pit of hell (and do quests to ask gods for rec letters for college) than be without her (iconic, showstopping, never the same, absolutely one of a kind)
guy falls in love with girl only to find out he fell in love with an enchanted pottery version of her, which promptly is destroyed. upon finding the real her, she hates him before she begrudgingly begins to like him and then they get tgt at the end of the series.
girl likes guy, except due to his bloodline he’s cursed to die within a few months but she kinda wants to be tgt anyways. but wait! at the same time she also has a crush on this 4000 year old egyptian god bc his human form is cute (a form only she can see btw). she’s torn between them until in the last book they merge into one person??? and she starts dating him/them/idek???
amnesiac boy wakes up on a bus next to his girlfriend, only to find out later that a goddess implanted memories of them dating into both of their heads and they actually don’t know each other at all. over the course of a quest they develop some real feelings and decide to keep their relationship going. i think they break up later but i stopped reading the books before then so
boy and genderfluid person meet in the afterlife and trade snarky banter until eventually he accidentally confesses by using the power of his crush to shrink a god to the size of a perfume bottle
boy develops crush on girl who everyone else is wary of / doesn’t like bc she is the daughter of the god of the underworld. eventually he finds out that she died like 80 years ago and her brother brought her back to life bc the god of death was chained but he accepts her past and likes her no matter what.
boy is magically transported to the cursed island of a millennia old titaness who was promised freedom and is bitter that she never received it (although it’s theorized that she was granted it but all the gods forgot to tell her) and while he’s trying to get off the island they fall in love and he gets back to her by faking his death and using a magic compass to get him back to the island and gets her off of it. i think they also break up at one point but i again i stopped reading the books by then so
sunshine healer boy encounters emo death boy being all emo and pushing people away and goes fuck that and gets close to him and all the while the emo boy is like “a person likes me ??? for who i am??? sounds fake” and then they eventually start dating

I do sometimes think about all the smaller ways Sadie has been let down by other characters.
I think about how she was too young to understand that her grandparents tore her away from her father and brother.
I think about how she internalized that as abandonment by her dad, and that scar never went away even when she was old enough to understand.
I think about how she was in a bad mood at the beginning of the first book because most of the time with her dad was already gone.
I think about how she initially perceived her dad taking her and Carter to the British Museum as prioritizing his work over being her dad.
I think about how Sadie questioned if her dad and brother even still loved her.
I think about how she's always the one to be unfailingly loyal.
I think about how she trusted Bast when a magician accused Bast of abandoning her duty.
I think about how she believed Amos was in control of Set's power at the climax of the third book when everyone else doubted.
I think about how she still visited Bes's comatose body, despite not liking places like hospitals and nursing homes.
I think about how no one really extended her the same.
I think about how her grandparents didn't fight to keep her at home with them in Britain.
I think about how Carter chose to go after Zia instead of going with Sadie to find the book of Ra.
I think about how that made Sadie cry.
I think about Sadie, who feels abandonment extremely acutely, was forced to sacrifice her dad.
It's just something I think about.

Thinking about Frank telling Percy that after the war he had to ask Pluto's permission to date Hazel. The war gave him some leeway and reason for not doing so, but after it ended, Pluto showed up after a few days and asked Frank why he had not requested permission.
Percy is kinda surprised Hazel doesn't look annoyed. Sure she's from the 40's but he thought permission to marry was the common request. Wasn't permission to date outdated, even by 40's standards?
And Hazel shakes her head and explains that historically a lot of children of Pluto/Hades would be courted by other demigods as a trick or a trap. If a child of the Underworld asked her out, permission would be implicitly granted. If a mortal asked her out, permission would be implicitly granted.
But a non-Chthonic demigod, especially an Olympian one and one of such high rank like Mars, requires permission so Pluto or one of her siblings, or even Proserpina, may assess that this person is someone safe. Even friends can betray you in the end, she notes and Percy hates every single word of what she's said.
Years later when he comes to terms with his feelings for Nico, he agonizes about it. He knows Nico likely won't give a shit if he doesn't have permission, and Hades won't do anything to Percy besides maybe yell at him if he refuses to ask because killing him would upset Nico, but if he's going to date Nico he'd like to be on somewhat good terms with Hades for once. Neutral terms, even.
Frank may have lucked out with near immediate acceptance - why, wouldn't he? Hazel was his world. He would rather die than hurt her - but Percy was a thorn in Hades' side from the moment they met, and he was well aware getting permission would be a long process to go through. Probably some more stupid quests to prove himself.
And he'd do them. He hate it but Nico was worth it.
But part of the reason of living at the Nome these days was to stop having to do quests. To stop have gods interfering in his life to the point of standing on the ledge of the apartment roof and staring down at black asphalt and garbage bags shoved into a corner.
But Nico is worth it. And Percy - well, he'd like to think he's safe for him now. That he won't hurt him accidentally anymore. That they're good. And he's pretty sure Nico likes him back. When he visits, he always gravitates towards him. Sits by him when he's finished training with Walt. Takes him outside with Carter or Zia so he doesn't develop agoraphobia, and holds his hand the whole time so he "can't run away". He strokes the back of Percy's hand every time they're standing still.
He blushed when that one lady thought they were a couple. Didn't correct her either. Didn't ask why Percy didn't correct her. Didn't let go of his hand.
He hasn't interacted with a Greek god in the last four years. At least not in person. His dad and step-mom send letters every few months through Hermes, who hands them off to Nico to deliver. They're nice letters. Hoping he's doing well. Updating him on how the castle repairs are doing. Telling him about quiet spots in the ocean he can visit at a certain time if wherever he is doesn't have access. He's used a couple of them, with Sadie lazing about on a shitty rowboat far above his head.
It's nice to just lay there on the sand. The first time he'd been worried it was a trap. That some sea god would whisk him away for some adventure that would leave him more torn than he already was. But Phillip had sat with him, wand at the ready, his penguins casually swimming above them and it had been fine. No sea gods, no sea monsters, no animals other than the penguins.
So Hades will be the first Greek god he sees in person. It reminds him too much of his first quest. While Ares has been the first, Hades had been the second and Percy had stood in front of him, feeling too small, everything at risk, and someone he loved dearly on the line. If he failed then, he might never get her back.
If he failed now, Hades might enforce ways to keep them apart. To make sure Percy couldn't ignore his lack of permission and date Nico anyway.
What terrified him the most about not earning permission was the implication he was still dangerous to other people, to Nico. He was sure he was safe now. He didn't freak out at the little kids. He didn't wake up screaming. His gut instinct wasn't to pull Riptide out at every single loud noise. He didn't dissociate as much as he used to. He wasn't on edge all the time. He trusted the other people around him.
He didn't want to die nearly as much as he used to.
But what if it meant nothing? Therapy, medication, avoiding the things that caused him stress - what if it wasn't enough? Yeah, he has attacked Nico once but that was years ago, Percy had been extremely stressed out, and Nico hadn't even cared about it when he apologized. It took him a few seconds to even remember what Percy was talking about.
Aside from that one instance, Percy liked to think he'd always been safe for Nico. But then he remembered Bianca and his gut churned viciously.
Still, Nico was worth it. Nico was something he wanted. He'd do it for him. He'd do a lot of things for him.
Grover stood with him at the entrance of the Underworld. Mrs. O'Leary was splayed out, catching the rays of sunlight and rumbling happily as Annabeth gave her a couple treats and belly rubs. She joined Percy's other side and pinched his arm.
He still loved her. He always would. Their relationship to each other wasn't something that could be killed off, even with the distance and Percy running away. Same with Grover. Either one of them could vanish for years at a time, and when they came back, it would be like no time passed at all. They were clicked into one another like a necklace with interlocking friendship charms.
"You got this," Grover said with a clap to Percy's back. His hand drew up to Percy's shoulder and squeeze. "And we'll be right there with you."
"Or just outside the door," Annabeth adds. She flashes her wrist, a shiny watch on it. "And I have a battering ram if needed."
Grover's face went pinched. "That's not helpful."
"It's realistic!" Annabeth argued. "When has he ever come out here peacefully?"
"He's only been here twice!" Grover said in a gritted whispered shout. "You need at least three times to indicate a pattern."
The two of them stepped back ever so slightly so they weren't shouting through Percy, and continued their bickering on what constituted a pattern indication and whether or not it was helpful or supportive to indicate a fight might break out.
The noise helped clear the sound of his own voice in his head. He zeroed in on Grover's words clashing against Annabeth's opposing side, and breathed steadily. The two of them knew him so well. Hopeful realism.
"Guys," he said as clear as he could.
They went silent immediately and drew back to his side. Grover looped his arm around Percy's, pulling him close in by the elbow. Annabeth squeezed his hand once before letting go.
"You ready?" she said.
He nodded and reached for the doorknob. "Let's do this."

every kane chronicles character really just characters so hard like hello? rick did not have to go this hard writing them (full rant about the main 4 characters ahead because i cannot be stopped)
carter kane being dragged around the globe by his father who's a fugitive of the house of life and unknowingly getting caught in that crossfire and always having to be perfect and then as he finally starts to figure himself out and become a magician and person in his own right, he's thrown right into another role of perfection and expectations. he's always been alone, until the day he isn't anymore, but at the same time, he's appointed pharoah and isolated once again and still stuck.
sadie kane being taken from her father and brother and being raised by her grandparents in london and growing up as far away from egypt and the house of life as she could get. she becomes a magician and a leader, but at the same time she has to leave the life she's established in london behind. she's sure and unsure at the same time, wanting nothing more than her family to lean on, and one day, she finally gets it. she's taken from her normalcy and thrown into a life of magic, but she takes it all in stride despite all of her worries.
zia rashid who's been loyal to the house of life since she was eight years old and they saved her after her village was destroyed by apophis. she unknowingly becomes the host of nephthys and gets replaced by a shabti and locked in a water tomb below her own village, only to be saved by a boy her replica started to fall in love with but she views as an enemy. she'd fight for the house until the end, but then one day, her loyalties slowly shift towards the kanes and the path of the gods. she's always just been a soldier, but then one day, ra returns and she learns that she is his chosen one. she no longer lives in the shadows.
walt stone who's known he's dying his entire life but comes to the house of life to learn magic anyway. he throws the last year of his life to their cause, thinking its the last thing he'll ever do. he believes in the cause and the kanes and he genuinely feels no regret at potentially accelerating his early death for their cause. but then he becomes the first ever human host of anubis, extending his life longer than he ever thought possible. he can dream again of a life beyond sixteen.

Songs dedicated to my fav Riordanverse ships!!! (I'm obsessed with this trend)
Percabeth - Choosing a song for this ship is quite difficult, especially because they are just THAT couple, but I think Dandelions by Ruth B just gives Percabeth
Solangelo - My personal favourite ship, I think THE LONLIEST by Måneskin or Sweater Weather by the Neighborhood
Frazel - I was just thinking about this, and I feel like Paper Rings by Taylor Swift is so them coded. Especially the line "I like shiny things but I'd marry you with paper rings", like C'MON?!
Valgrace - I feel like Heather by Conan Gray or Fix You by Coldplay are quite Valgrace coded
Zia x Carter - This ship is basically the Percabeth of the Kane Chronicles series, so it was quite difficult to find songs that match their dynamic. But I really think Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez is great for describing how Carter felt after Zia went missing
Fierrochase - Magnus and Alex are so adorable together istg <3. A good song for them would be What Is Love? by Haddaway (I couldn't think of anything better I'm sorry 😭)

Tkc characters at the theme park, carnival, county fairs??? idk what to call them
Sadie:
Only cares about the scary rides
Says she’s terrified of roller-coasters but she goes to the biggest, most terrifying ones
Talks about how scared she is in the line
Insists on going in the front
Always raises her hands in the air
Screams the loudest out of everyone (seriously you can’t hear anyone else)
She always says how scary it was after but she goes on it again and again
Drags Carter and on with her for every single one
Zia:
Drags Carter onto every rollercoaster
Says she isn’t scared but she is a little scared secretly
She doesn’t like going to theme parks too much because it drains her
But when she does go she has fun
Scarily good at the games there
She will win every prize
When she loses-
No one is safe
Carter:
HATES roller coasters
Just doesn’t see the point in going on a death trap
Paranoid because he constantly researches about every single roller coaster accident that’s ever happened
“Ok but there’s a 0.001333333333333 percent chance the ride could fail”
Only goes on for Zia
Screams and holds onto the roller coaster bars for dear life
Other than roller coasters he really loves seeing the shows at theme parks
But like the cool ones with special effects and cool structures he really enjoys them and he loves figuring out how they work
 he’ll search it up
Jaz:
She’s probably the one that suggested they should go
Plans everything beforehand
You can never be too careful
Especially when something always goes wrong with the magic
Doesn’t care too much about the rides and games
She just wants to have fun with her friends
Videos everything
And posts it on social media
Walt:
Probably loves the food
Eats pretty healthily
But when he goes out to the theme parks he will eat the unhealthiest shit
You know those disgusting snacks like deep-fried Oreos that you will literally only find in America?
He will eat that, just because
Usually picks the rides because everyone listens to him
Can tolerate rollercoasters

Still so sorry about the low amount of fic updates or any writing, so here's an extra long snippet of Let The Games Begin, as a treat!
Jason and Piper, visibly exhausted, made their way to their respective rooms, needing rest after the haunting experiences they had just endured. Callum and Rayla, leaning against the ship’s railing, engaged in quiet conversation, seeking solace in each other’s company. Meanwhile, Sadie and Carter opted to sit against one of the masts, contemplating the events that had unfolded.
After a while, Carter noticed Sadie fidgeting with the shen amulet around her neck—a gift from her boyfriend, Walt. Carter, observing his sister’s subtle distress, gently broached the subject. “You miss him, don’t you?”
Sadie’s gaze shifted to her brother, uncertainty in her eyes. “If I say yes, are you going to tease me?” Her voice, usually confident, held a hint of vulnerability that caught Carter off guard. It worried him.
Shaking his head, Carter assured her, “No, no, of course not. Not after what just happened.” He could sense the weight of the recent events on her.
Sadie sighed, leaning her head against the mast. “I do,” she admitted softly, a wave of nostalgia and longing coloring her words.
Carter, understanding the depth of her emotions, offered a supportive presence. “It’s okay to miss him, Sadie. I miss Zia too. We’ll get through this.” The two siblings sat in companionable silence, finding solace in the shared understanding of the challenges they faced.
Callum and Rayla stood together, their backs against the railing of the Argo II, the early evening sunlight casting a gentle glow on the deck. The events in the temple lingered in the air, and the couple found solace in sharing their thoughts.
Callum glanced at Rayla, concern etched on his features, “That was… crazy. Are you okay?”
Rayla met his gaze, her violet eyes reflecting a mix of emotions, “I’m fine, physically. But what we saw in the temple…” She trailed off, a shiver running down her spine.
“Yeah,” Callum agreed, running a hand through his hair, “I never expected the spell to conjure illusions like that. It was supposed to be a glimpse of the past, not... those dark reflections.”
Rayla nodded, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns on the railing, “And the way it affected Sadie and Carter. It’s one thing to face enemies, but to confront the corrupted ghosts of your loved ones?”
Callum sighed, his gaze fixed on the clouds overhead, “I worry about Piper and Jason. If the trial affects them the same way…”
Rayla leaned closer, seeking comfort in Callum’s presence, “We’ll be there for them. But what about us? Will we have to face our own illusions, our own fears?”
Callum understood what she really meant, Will we have to face them again?
Callum tightened his grip on Rayla’s hand, “I don’t know, Ray. The thought of reliving certain moments, the mistakes I’ve made... it’s unsettling.”
Rayla squeezed his hand in reassurance. “We face danger together. Whatever comes our way, we’ll handle it as a team.”
Callum managed a small smile, grateful for her support. “You’re right. We’ve faced challenges before, and we’ll face them again. Together.”
“Together.” She repeated.
Callum leaned down to kiss her forehead, “You know, you’ve gotten pretty good at Big Feelings Time,”
“Learned from the best.” She replied.
As they continued to talk, the fading sunlight enveloped them, casting a sense of unity amidst the uncertainty that lay ahead.
The air on the deck was calm, with only the subtle hum of the ship’s magical engines breaking the silence. Carter found himself drawn to the controls, curiosity getting the better of him. Leo, engrossed in adjusting some settings, looked up with a grin as Carter approached.
“Hey, Carter! What’s up?” Leo greeted, wiping his hands on a rag.
Carter leaned against the rail, glancing at the mesmerizing controls. “Just wanted to see what’s going on up here. You know, flying this thing must be quite the experience.”
Leo chuckled, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “Oh, it’s a thrill, alright. Wanna give it a try?”
Carter raised an eyebrow. “Seriously?”
Leo nodded, gesturing to the controls. “Sure thing, Captain Kane. Take her for a spin.”
As Carter took Leo’s place, Leo walked him through the basics, their conversation blending with the soft hum of the Argo II.
Meanwhile, Piper, having had a fair amount of rest, saw Sadie sitting by herself and decided to join her.
As Piper approached Sadie, she could sense the heaviness in the air. Leaning against the mast, Sadie looked lost in thought, her eyes distant. Piper offered a comforting smile before speaking, subtly weaving a hint of charmspeak into her words to ease the conversation.
“Piper,” Sadie acknowledged with a small smile. “How are you holding up after all that?”
Piper sighed, “It was intense, for sure. But I’m more worried about you. You seem... well, not okay.”
Sadie hesitated for a moment, her gaze focused on the deck. “Yeah, it’s a lot to process. Those illusions, whatever they were, hit too close to home.”
Piper nodded, her expression sympathetic. “I get it. It felt personal, like digging up old wounds. Who were those spirits you and Carter fought? If you want to talk about it.”
Sadie sighed, her fingers idly tracing the pattern on her shen amulet. “Walt,” she admitted, a pang of longing in her voice. “He’s my boyfriend back in Brooklyn. And for Carter, it was Zia, his girlfriend.”
Piper’s eyes widened in understanding, “Oh Sadie, that’s tough. How do you feel about it?”
Sadie shrugged, a mix of emotions playing on her face, “Complicated. I know they’re fine, but they don’t know what happened to us, and we can’t tell them where we are.”
Piper listened, empathizing with Sadie’s complex emotions. The weight of the situation was evident, and Piper decided to gently probe further.
“You miss them, don’t you?” Piper asked, her voice soft and understanding.
Sadie glanced at Piper, a mixture of vulnerability and honesty in her eyes. “More than I thought I would. This whole journey... it’s pulling us into different worlds, and I can’t help but worry about the people we left behind.”
Piper nodded, “It’s okay to feel that way. Distance can be hard, especially when you care about someone. Have you talked to Carter about it?”
Sadie sighed, “Not really. He’s got his own worries. We’re all dealing with so much right now.”
Piper leaned closer, lowering her voice, “Sometimes talking helps, even if it’s just to each other. You guys have been through a lot together. Don’t forget you're a team, not just heroes on a quest.”
Sadie smiled appreciatively, “Thanks, Piper. You’re surprisingly good at this comforting thing.”
Piper chuckled, “Comes with the territory. Now, how about we focus on the good stuff? Like getting that Key thing and whatever adventure awaits us next. We’ll find a way through this, together.”
Sadie’s smile widened, genuine gratitude in her eyes. The two girls continued their conversation, navigating the emotional aftermath of the temple’s trials while finding solace in the camaraderie of their newfound family aboard the Argo II

hello! got any kane chronicles aus?
*Strolls in late with Starbucks*
Hi! Yes, yes I do. I dumped highlights from three I've developed the most under the cut :)
Julius and Ruby Both Die At Cleopatra's Needle -Basically this one's just an excuse to raise Carter and Sadie together and, uh. I decided that I wanted angst. So RIP Julius. :( -The Fausts are slightly less shitty here in that Carter and Sadie are full-blown orphans and it's much easier to feel nice about your son-in-law when he's dead and they don't have to deal with him. -. . .yeah, this isn't a nice AU. -Anyway, initial shenanigans abound (Carter and Sadie being raised together is fun as fuck, Sadie keeps dying Carter's hair via his shampoo because her friends all have violent crushes on him. He has no idea why that's why she does it and it's staying that way, these two fight about who's Muffin's favorite for Bast to mortify them later). Things are also sweet in that this is very much a You-And-I-Against-The-World thing once the magic shows up. -Amos is very angsty about this! Because the House of Life took this as a Get Out Of Kane Nonsense Free Card and were pretty harsh about him even being in England, near his niece and nephew. -(The House of Life went to the Owen Lars School of Thought, which is that you can hold back generational overpowered bullshit if you just don't tell the kids jackshit) -Anyway, Amos is plot-relevant here because he does the thing at the British Museum instead, only with exponentially more self-loathing. It's the usual godly line-up, only Osiris enters Amos and Set enters Desjardins. -See, where this gets fun is that Desjardins is given the boot as Chief Lector after this all comes out, and he basically winds up as the siblings' reluctant angry French adopted uncle live-in ally (Think, "If you didn't want to join our found family, you should've killed us when you had the chance"). Since Amos is dead, we're saying Sarah Jacobi was next in line for Chief Lector. I have no idea who was actually next after Amos since Jacobi/Menshikov clearly didn't give a fuck about legitimacy, but it's more fun this way. -The other big thing is that Sadie and Carter are much less on-board with the whole "Join the organization that tried to kill you thing", even when they're all "pretty please join us after our major fuck-up in almost causing the apocalypse". -TBH, the best fun of this AU is: A, More angst because dead parents, B, Carter and Sadie hit the ground running with their relationship, and C, Desjardins reluctantly hanging around Brooklyn House because he doesn't have anywhere else to go while Carter and Sadie try to run a whole school together. -And as always, both the Kane siblings are bi and I'm not taking arguments on this front.
Zia and Carter Meet Early -I just think it would be great to have Zia and Carter meeting because Julius is on a dig (read: Researching a way to host Osiris without his brain melting while running from the House of Life) and Zia is being taught how to melt things on purpose instead of on accident. -Then they become pen-pals and don't meet for five years and identity porn ensues. -This one is driven by both the angst--Zia dealing with being immediately torn between her one 'normal' friend turning out to be the Accidental Most and her adopted family that saved her life wanting him dead! Carter being torn between saving the world and creating a new one where he and Zia aren't constantly almost dying!--and, uh, to be frank? I think Sadie chewing him the fuck out because god, Carter, what the fuck, for the better part of TRP would be great. -This one's also an excuse for me to, uh, write more about Zia. Because I think Ra's future chosen one deserves fun prequel shit and also I wanna dig into that whole "fiercely prideful and standoffish but also will go from 0 to 100 once she decides you've got something going for you" with bonus "family trauma times two" thing.
God Reversal -I personally think that sticking Horus and Sadie together would be high comedy. I don't think it would end well, but it would be funny. -Like, yes, Isis was stuck with Sadie and Horus with Carter because they play to the right strengths and shore up the right weaknesses. Reversing things is not necessarily a good idea. -But also Horus and Sadie are just. . .god, Sadie is angry. She's a twelve-year-old girl who's never taken seriously, who dresses as loudly as possible to make the right people angry and because it's cool, and she wants her fucking father in her life. -I think that Horus's continual idea of, "Get a sword and beat up the problem until it stops moving and people listen to you," would appeal. Greatly. -Conversely, Isis and Carter is. . .okay, Carter has control issues where the people he loves are concerned. He was raised knowing that he should be able to fit his life in a suitcase, except for the people involved, okay? It was him and Dad, and now it's him and Sadie (and Zia), and the world is ending, and he can't protect everyone he loves. -Like, I should be clear: This is not a possessiveness issue, this is "Carter's actual worst nightmare is watching the people he loves run into a dangerous unknown and never coming back." This has happened to him! Repeatedly! -Isis's whole "Learn the everything about magic--especially the dark bits--and do whatever you have to for keeping the people you love in power and untouchable," thing would, again, greatly appeal. -Basically, I wanna make the Kane siblings wrestle with their demons a lot and also write King Sadie Kane and her Chief Advisor Carter Kane. For fun.

Magnus chase has the most consistency when it comes to accents for its characters
PJo/HoO: Characters are from allover the place and have a lot of different accents (Leo and Reyna Spanish, Hazel New Orleans, Nico Italian, etc).Takes place in NY
Kane chronicles: Sadie has a British accent that becomes a US (Brooklyn) accent, Carter used to move all over the place so his accent is probably a mix of a lot of things, Amos Brooklyn accent, Zia Egyptian accent, Desjardins French accent. Take place in Brooklyn but still most of the characters have Egyptian accents because it’s on Egyptian mythology(and all the gods have noticeable Egyptian accents)
Mcatgoa: For just the main cast Magnus from Boston, Alex from Boston, Sam from Boston, Blitzen from a place that is described as being similar to Boston and now lives there after live a good amount of time on the streets of Boston so if he wasn’t born with one he sure does now, Hearth can’t really speak and has been deaf his inter life, and going on to side characters T.J from Boston, Amir from Boston. Take place most of the time in a DIFFERENT REALM OF EXISTENCE
HOW THE FUCK DOES MAGNUS CHASE OUT OF EVERYTHING HAVE THE MOST CONSISTENT ACCENTS FOR ITS CHARACTERS! I DONT FUCKING UNDERSTAND

"YEEEAH!!!! I don't care much for sadie x jazz and I think they would do with salt, but the important thing is the Kane family dynamic with the Egyptian royal family and honestly? It's pure gold. Carter and Anubis hiding in the corner at a party and complaining about their jobs while Sadie and Horus scare people around"
Loved this hc, and thought of thissss hope u like it.
Carter was done. As much as Anubis was now. Done with Sadie, done with Horus, done with the party they were in... He just couldn't take it anymore. But, when his sister called for him through the phone, hanging from the fucking chandelier, he knew shit was 'bout to go down.
As he felt the gentle buzzing of his phone inside the pocket of his pants, he inmediately picked up after seeing the name "Annoying thing #1" on the screen.
"Say? You okay sis?" He asked nearly yelling, the music was so loud it could've torn his ears apart. Almost an instant later, he heard his sister's muffled screams, and another voice yelling. "SaySay, the fuck? What are you doing? Hello?!" He had already hung up. Carter ran back inside to his seat in a corner with Anubis, and was met with his brother talking through the phone, with a face torn between amusement, surprise and worry.
"What do you mean Say is hanging from the chandelier?"
That was all Carter Heard before being knocked down by his girlfriend, Zia, who tried to run away from Horus, who had... His sister's panties on the head??
"Horus, what IS that shit?" Anubis asked, trying to muffle his snorts.
"Ask your sister, I have no fucking idea" He answered, running away as Sadie chases him, her brother's shirt turned upside down on her as if It were her pants. She sneaked a small glance at Anubis, but quickly left.
A few hours later, Carter got a text again, this time from "Annoying thing #2". Carter softly read it aloud for himself. "Sadie got tired, we're back at the Nome, so don't freak out, yeah?" He typed a quick answer before going to Anubis' car to head back home themselves. A rare, but sad smile was seen on his older brother's face, as he lightly hummed to the song on the radio... "Country Roads", it was called. Anubis had always enjoyed that song. He played it to Sadie when she was just a baby. Carter knew those two had always shared a special bond. That was until "the Fight". Sadie and Anubis had argued in a pretty bad way that ended up with two broken vases, a brused eye and many teary ones. He thought of saying something, but decided not to.
After they made it home, they found Horus and Sadie on the couch, passed out after the emotions of the party. Carter made his way upstairs, only to find out that his brother didn't follow him.
"You coming?" He softly asked. He knew of the fight, and didn't want to ruin the slim chances of them fixing it.
"Nah... I think I'll stay for a bit." That was all Carter needed to head upstairs after seeing Anubis plop on the couch to talk to Sadie, and fall on his bed, exhausted.
Okay, maybe he wasn't that done.

Note
“like carter gets more of a pass because their relationship lasted less than a month and neither of them really knew what they were doing” I feel bad for finding the wording of this hilarious.
Zia and Carter, post-first kiss or something: “…”
Zia: “So…what happens now?”
Carter: “Uh…kiss again? H-hold hands? I dunno, this is all new to me.”
Zia: “…hold on a bit. (pulls out phone, frantically types in groupchat) ‘Time sensitive question what do you do after first kiss?’”
Donnie: Have a second, better kiss because the first one felt gross due to all the saliva.

The misery that kicked off with the onslaught of the Cold War has finally concluded, at least for the time being. The Afghan war started with an internal battle in Afghanistan in 1978, between anti-communist Islamic insurgents and the Afghan communist government, supported by the Soviet Union. Due to the former Soviet Union’s engagement in the war, the US involvement became essential, as the two superpowers came face to face in battlegrounds across the world. Since then, bloodshed and fanaticism have continued unabated, and the region remains volatile. During the 1970s, the United States was watching the situation in Afghanistan closely, trying to gain a foothold there.  As the country was under Soviet influence, the US began slowly funneling money towards anti-Marxist resistance groups.  Since the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, the United States has been directly involved in the region except for a brief period of time. The US was either supporting the mujahideen against the Soviet Union or fighting directly against the Taliban after the September 11 attacks. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, American interest in Afghanistan began to diminish, and the US left behind a well-armed and motivated extremist group in this whirlpool; Osama bin Laden was one of them. The United States’ involvement in Afghanistan began under Jimmy Carter and continued until President Biden.   [caption id="attachment_8891" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Jimmy Carter initiated Afghan war when he came face to face with the USSR in Afghanistan in 1979.[/caption]   Jimmy Carter: Taking on the USSR Face to Face Jimmy Carter approved collaboration between the CIA and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence before the invasion of Afghanistan. To respond to this cooperation, the CIA provided $500,000 of non-lethal assistance to the mujahideen. Carter reacted vigorously following the invasion in December 1979. He authorized Operation Cyclone and began supplying weapons and money to the mujahedeen through the Pakistan army.  He believed the provocation was dangerous. He imposed sanctions against the Soviet Union, guaranteed renewed help to Pakistan, and pledged the United States’ commitment to the Persian Gulf’s defense. Carter also urged a boycott of the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics in his anti-Russian bid. The CIA’s covert Operation Cyclone was the longest and most expensive engagement in history. The United States funneled more than $20 billion into Afghanistan to train and arm resistance groups. With Operation Cyclone, the CIA paid for weaponry and money for the war through Pakistani general cum dictator Mohammed Zia-ul Haq, who asked Muslim countries to send troops to Afghanistan. Many people volunteered, including bin Laden. [caption id="attachment_8893" align="aligncenter" width="2047"] Ronald Reagan anti-communist policy approaches helped him launch operations in Afghanistan.[/caption] Ronald Reagan: Assisting Insurgent Groups against Russia    During Ronald Reagan’s presidency, Operation Cyclone expanded. He advocated a more aggressive anti-communist foreign policy and provided aid to anti-Soviet resistance movements overseas. To implement this policy, Reagan sent CIA paramilitary operatives to arm mujahideen forces against the Soviets. It aimed at assisting the rebels in their war against the Soviets by providing weapons, tactics, logistics, and training programs.  In 1983, at the White House, President Ronald Reagan met with mujahideen leaders, whom he referred to as “freedom fighters.” Little did he know back then that the same freedom fighters would bring down the twin towers in 2001. US forces armed the mujahideen with anti-aircraft Stinger missiles in 1986.  Stringer missiles changed the entire war scenario, and the Soviet Union began negotiating its withdrawal. Under Reagan, the CIA sent billions of dollars to Afghanistan. This strategy was successful in driving out the
Soviets. [caption id="attachment_8894" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Under George H.W.Bush, the US curbed its role in Afghanistan as the USSR disintegrated, which portrayed the US win in the cold war.[/caption]   George H.W. Bush: USSR had Fallen, so Did the US Ambitions With the collapse of the USSR, America had little interest in the region. However, even under President George H.W. Bush, the United States provided financial assistance to the region. The US spent $4.2 billion on assistance between 1987 and 1993. Bush stated that the United States would continue to help the Afghan rebels as long as their efforts resulted in a stable government. An accelerated effort to end the Afghanistan war led Bush to send a delegation to South Asia on January 14, 1990. In its 1992 budget, the Bush administration announced it would not renew funding for the Afghan rebels. In an effort to control Kabul, the Bush administration issued a public appeal in April 1992, urging Afghan rebels to act with restraint. This was a significant shift in US policy, as it started changing the course of its support for the mujahideen. [caption id="attachment_8895" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Under Bill Clinton's tenure, the US started establishing itself as an anti-mujahedeen entity, which was a major policy shift.[/caption] Bill Clinton: The Beginning of US Long-term Involvement in the Region During Bill Clinton’s presidency, the CIA established that bin Laden was not just a Taliban financier but also the head of an operation based in Afghanistan. Because he was urging Muslims to kill Americans, the State Department asked the Taliban to evict bin Laden from the nation. In response, the Taliban claimed not to know his location and declined the request. Later, the CIA prepared a plan to capture and remove bin Laden from the nation, but General Anthony Zinni and a few others in the State Department rejected the notion. An attack on US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania was carried out by terrorists in August 1998. Twelve Americans were among the 250 dead and 5,500 injured. Clinton ordered missile strikes after intelligence linked the bombings to Osama bin Laden, a Saudi Arabian living in Afghanistan and suspected of terrorist activity. President Clinton tried to neutralize bin Laden by bombarding al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan and a pharmaceutical site in Sudan, which was supposedly making biological weapons under Osama bin Laden’s watch. Although the planes hit the desired target, bin Laden survived.   George W. Bush: A Man Behind Global Invasions In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, President George W Bush issued an ultimatum to Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar; either hand over bin Laden and other terrorists involved or prepare for war. After the Taliban administration rejected the war warnings, Operation Enduring Freedom was launched in Afghanistan on October 7, 2001. Less than a month after the September 11 attacks, this invasion was conducted with the aim of destroying al-Qaeda and defeating the Taliban. Bush targeted the terrorists’ finances, boosted homeland security funds, and provided Afghan refugees with humanitarian assistance in order to drive out the Taliban from Afghanistan. The Bonn Agreement was signed on December 5, 2001, giving power to warlords who had ruled from 1992 to 1996, as well as key players in the Northern Alliance. In the same month, the US-backed Hamid Karzai became the caretaker president of Afghanistan. Following the defeat of Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2002, Bush called for a Marshall Plan to rebuild Afghanistan. President Bush announced, “Mission accomplished,” in May 2003, and the Pentagon declared major combat in Afghanistan over. [caption id="attachment_8896" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] President Barack Obama is photographed during a presidential portrait sitting for an official photo in the Oval Office, Dec. 6, 2012. (Official White House Photo by Pe
te Souza)[/caption] Barack Obama: An Era of Reckless Drone Bombardment After taking office, President Barack Obama ordered a reinforcement of US soldiers in 2009. In Afghanistan, more than 30,000 troops had been deployed to combat radicals. In his message to the nation, he stated that these forces would only be in position for a short time and that their primary goal was to give Afghans time to build their capabilities and protect their own future. This was the beginning of the new era of US involvement in the region, which would continue for more than ten years. The one major goal that was achieved in this war on terror came after ten years. In May 2011, Obama announced that Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind 9/11, had been executed by US military and CIA personnel. By 2012, the government withdrew 33,000 “surge” troops with the intention of returning all security duties to Afghanistan by 2014 and completing the withdrawal by 2016. The withdrawal did not occur before Obama’s term ended in 2017. Obama’s era was characterized by the reckless bombardment of Afghanistan and Pakistan with the help of drones. US drone attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan, which began under President George W. Bush, had grown significantly after President Barack Obama authorized an expansion of the attacks in 2009. Several civilians, rescuers, and even American citizens have been killed by drones. During this war on terror, more than 13,000 strikes were carried out in Afghanistan, according to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, killing between 5,000 and 10,000 people. In Pakistan, 430 strikes were carried out, killing between 2,500 and 4,000 people. Obama was criticized for drone attacks and for what many humanitarian organizations called extrajudicial killings. [caption id="attachment_8897" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Official portrait of President Donald J. Trump, Friday, October 6, 2017. (Official White House photo by Shealah Craighead)[/caption] Donald Trump: From Arms to Table In 2017, former President Donald Trump warned against a hurried withdrawal from Afghanistan. In addition, Trump enlarged the US military’s involvement in Afghanistan and increased airstrikes, including the use of the world’s largest non-nuclear bomb against ISIS fighters. The Taliban were gaining ground in Afghanistan by then, controlling more than 60% of the nation, despite seventeen years of conflict in Afghanistan. Finally, the United States decided to try to end the long war by initiating peace talks with the Taliban. The Taliban and the US agreed that the remaining 13,000 troops in Afghanistan would be evacuated by May 1, 2021. In doing so, the group would cut ties with al-Qaida and cease attacking American forces. By the end of Trump’s presidency, the number of US troops in Afghanistan had decreased to 2,500. [caption id="attachment_8898" align="aligncenter" width="2048"] President Joe Biden poses for his official portrait Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in the Library of the White House. (Official White House Photo by Adam Schultz)[/caption] Joe Biden: Abandoning Afghanistan Unilaterally, Once Again The situation in Afghanistan appeared gloomy when President Joe Biden assumed office. When Biden was vice president in the Obama administration, he believed that adding troops to Afghanistan was the best way to win in Afghanistan. But in his capacity as president, he announced that the US would completely withdraw its troops before September 11, 2021.  During his speech in April 2021, President Biden said that he is now the fourth president to oversee American troops in Afghanistan, but the fifth president will not be burdened by this responsibility. By July 2021, the United States withdrew the majority of its troops from Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan without informing the new Afghan commander, allowing the Taliban to attack Afghan security forces. Just as after the cold war, this time, America has once again left modern-day weaponry to the Taliban, which could prove
to be detrimental. [caption id="attachment_8901" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Every president had his own approach to handle Afghan crisis. However the hasty withdrawal raised eyebrows on Biden.[/caption] Final Thoughts Despite the twenty years of war, when President Biden announced a complete withdrawal, Kabul fell to the Taliban in a matter of days. It was highly anticipated, however. Because of the way the evacuation happened, there was no hope of a peaceful transition at all. The Taliban wants the country in its entirety, which is against US interests. The American approach is widely criticized both home and abroad, considering that all the NATO forces were in this together, but the US did not incorporate any ally’s concern in making withdrawal decisions. It is a common perception that Biden could have escaped the country with a better approach, without any loss of life or property.

Once again thinking about suicidal Percy breaking up with Annabeth while he tries to recover his mental and physical health by hiding within the safety of the Nome, and developing a massive crush on Carter in the process.
Zia subtly trying to remind Percy of his place by emphasizing that Carter is straight whenever she can. After a while of these, Percy gets the clue and holds her shoulders, like, "Zia, I'm not gonna try and steal your straight boyfriend from you. That's gross people behaviour. But I do think that we should talk about how hot he is together, and that should be the basis of our entire relationship."
He lets go and holds his hand out. She takes a moment, then shrugs and shakes in agreement. Carter now has to suffer through Percy teaching Zia how to catcall him when he walks by in his exercise shorts after teaching some of the kids, and Zia teaching Percy how to flirt with subtle and gentle words that make Carter squirm, his face burning.
After a few weeks of this, he watches them hunched over in a corner whispering. He doesn't trust it at all. And he's right not to, when a few hours later Zia starts dropping sexual innuendos with her smooth beautiful voice, stroking Carter's arm. Percy is giving her a thumbs up. She's grinning, cocky, and it reminds Carter just a tad too much of Percy and his near-manic victorious grin when he manages to catch Sadie in her own prank.
Zia pulls Carter off the couch and towards the bedrooms. As they pass through the doorway, where Percy is leaning against the wall, Carter hears a laughing, "Have fun!"
Ah. That's what they were talking about.
