The ending of the Librarians was ....interesting. Like the fourth and final season just reset itself?? It ends at a beginning. What does that mean for the events of the season?

They haven't happened yet. Do they happen "again" but different somehow? Example, the quest to find the stones of Alexandria wouldn't happen cause the stones are already in the Library. And anything with Nicole will be different cause she's a good guy now.

Another example, the noir episode. Maybe I'm wrong or not remembering correctly, but I'm pretty sure that because Flynn and Eve tethered to the Library that means they may not be going on adventures as often? So instead of them getting trapped in that noir movie, maybe Jake and Cassandra do? Which would be a fun Jassandra AU tbh.

Or do Jeff and Jenkins still switch places? Does the gang go to that camp? Maybe Nicole goes with them instead of Eve. Which could be fun and would be interesting to see how she works with the LITs now that she's a good guy.

And since it all began with the tethering ceremony there's no which one of the LITs is going to tether with Baird. So no Trial of the One?

Some stuff would be the same, but that same stuff would also be different. And... yeah there's just a lot to unpack there.

i'm not crying, i'm just remembering the episode of the librarians where cassandra leaves for a while after a bad artifact retrieval and jenkins is worried about her the entire time and then it's her memory of him that helps her through a panic attack and at the end he takes her home gushing about how extraordinary she is

I finished “The Librarians”, y’all. What do I do now? 😱

Maybe it’s time for a “Leverage” rewatch. That show is perfection.

A few thoughts first:

1. I weirdly enjoyed the shorter seasons. I felt like the show was more focused.

2. Jenkins. I just adored him. It is by far my favorite role with John Larroquette. The scene where he’s a D&D Dungeon Master was a thing of beauty.

3. I love Eve’s maternal vibes.

4. Love love loved Ezekiel’s character development. The looper episode broke me.

5. The ships, but also… not? I totally ship Jacob and Cassandra, but also Jenkins and Cassandra, and yet… I really liked how they just… were. I love a good platonic relationship just as much.

6. Judson and Charlene.

7. The series finale. I don’t know if they knew the show was ending or not, but this was one of the best series finales I have ever seen. Just beautiful.

I told my husband this show gave me “SeaQuest” vibes: a great cast of characters, episodes that almost always ended on a happy note, and just a feel good vibe when I watched it. A great comfort show. I adore “Leverage”, too, so it was meant to be.

If you haven’t seen “The Librarians” it is currently streaming on Freevee. I will definitely be purchasing this one.

"Risk" - Gracie Abrams

I don't think I've heard a single Gracie Abrams song before, but unfortunately "Risk" doesn't make me want to hear more. The folk pop stylings here are so generic and Abrams presence isn't felt at all. One of those songs that just goes in one ear and out the other. A song built out of cliches. Not sure if I'll give The Secret of Us a chance after this, we'll see. What a way to start the month!

"Buried Alive" | "Together" - Chance the Rapper

Chance the Rapper has released two new singles this month seemingly in preparation for his new album Star Line Gallery. It's been like 10 years (wow) since Chance's heyday with mixtapes like 10 Day and Acid Rap. Since then, he's been on a bit of a downtrend culminating in his catastrophic debut album The Big Day in 2019. These new songs set him back on the right track a bit. You can tell they mean a lot to Chance, but they can sound a little dull at times. I do really love the beat on "Together," but I enjoy his verses more on "Buried Alive." So, yeah these songs aren't super fulfilling, but maybe he can recover nicely into a decent album.

"Starburned and Unkissed" - Caroline Polachek

Caroline Polachek's dreamy contribution to the I Saw the TV Glow soundtrack is really good. This sounds unlike what Polachek has become known for. These long, spacey verses are a surprise, but a welcome one. As is the atmospheric production. The chorus amps up the energy nicely, it's really beautiful. I haven't gotten a chance to see the film, although I've heard it's really good, but this song rocks.

"Tennessee" - Kevin Abstract

I used to be a massive BROCKHAMPTON fan back when I was in high school and I've tried to stay up to date on what the former members have been up to in the wake of the boyband's dissolution. I feel like I've done a decent job until now. It's like two days before this post goes out and I'm just now learning of this new Kevin Abstract single featuring Lil Nas X. I mean, it's fun. There's some funny bars, but it does feel far too loose and clunky. Kevin was the driving force behind BROCKHAMPTON in the group's later days, but I fear the bloom might have fallen off of the rose just a bit. Maybe I'm overreacting because of this silly single, but he just hasn't made anything interesting in years. He also released that god-awful "Once in a Lifetime" cover this month. I truly hope he can recover and make something cool again.

"Whiskey" - Arooj Aftab

Covering this song here in case I don't get the chance to cover the full album this month (it comes out the final day of the month). This song rules so hard. This is my first time hearing Arooj Aftab's stuff and this beautiful blend of chamber folk and jazz tickles my brain in the right way. Her vocals are so gorgeous too. "Whiskey" is the kind of song that sounds like ocean waves gently brushing up on the shore. The lyricism cuts deep too, both in the words themselves and how they're delivered. Great song.

"Ronald" - Falling in Reverse, Tech N9ne & Alex Terrible

The first time I pressed play on "Ronald" I paused it barely 3 seconds in. I've had a profound dislike for Falling in Reverse and Ronnie Radke in particular, not just because I think their music sucks extremely hard, but because he's a terrible person to boot. He likes to claim he's being "cancelled" or whatever, but if you keep getting allegations thrown your way ... y'know where there's smoke there's fire. Anyway, I'll be honest the farthest I can get into this song is the 1 minute mark. I don't dislike metalcore (see my glowing review of the new Knocked Loose album), but this is BAD metalcore. One of the worst things I've heard all year. Deeply unpleasant song whose target audience is men who go out of their way to make women uncomfortable and also punch holes in their drywall.

"Take a Bite" - beabadoobee

beabadoobee's last full-length album was an enjoyable listen. Not something incredible, but just some really solid indie pop. "Take a Bite" is a bit more of the same, except everything feels a bit punchier. Her vocals have more bite to them and the instrumentation feels weightier. Pretty impressed by this one, decently high hopes for the upcoming album.

"360" - Charli XCX

Alongside a star-studded music video, Charli XCX has dropped another single from her upcoming new album. This could be my favorite single so far. It's just a fun listen with some incredible production. It's so bold, especially in Charli's delivery. There's not really a big chorus or anything here, it just sort of strings you along in an entrancing way. Seeing this opens the record has me excited. I'm loving each new single for BRAT more than the last, my hopes are getting higher!!!

"Gold River" - Parannoul

🥇 BEST SONG OF THE MONTH

Holy shit. "Gold River" has Korean shoegaze sensation Parannoul cranking up the noise and sharpening his songwriting chops which yields absolutely stunning results. This track wastes no time at all, it just fires on all cylinders all the way through. That chorus is just noise rock bliss. Also, the drums on this track are fucking killer. It's just so well-crafted while also maintaining the scrappy energy that's present throughout his previous work. If this leads to a whole album of material like this, we could be in for Parannoul's strongest work to date. Regardless, I still see very big things ahead for him.

"HIND'S HALL" - Macklemore

We've all given Macklemore a hard time over the years, but I do have to commend him for dropping this track. In the midst of the beef between megastars that's defining the hip hop landscape currently, Macklemore, of all people, drops this scathing protest anthem. Here he raises support for the ongoing student protests against their universities investing in Israel and companies with ties to them as they commit this ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. I agree with Macklemore's sentiments here more than I enjoy the track, admittedly, but it's bold of him to do this. More artists with much larger platforms than Macklemore should be speaking out on this. Here is the link to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.

"I Had Some Help" - Post Malone & Morgan Wallen

I mean, it isn't good. Shouldn't be a shocker to like anyone at all. Post Malone has been in his feature bag over the last few months after middling appearances on both Taylor Swift's bloated new album and Beyoncé's new record, but this is definitely the least enjoyable of them all. I simultaneously see the appeal of Morgan Wallen and I don't. It's like he was made in a lab to be the next big country star. To make sure the genre never evolves in the public eye and keeps clinging to its worst aspects. Just a piss-poor attempt at a country song of the summer and with our luck it will probably be just that.

"BOA" - Megan thee Stallion

Despite the harassment lawsuit leveled against Megan thee Stallion last month by a former cameraman, she seems to just continue on business as usual. Who knows if that lawsuit will hold any weight, but I will say that "BOA" is an excellent single. Like she just kills it. The beat rocks and her presence is so distinct. No one sounds as confident and brash as Megan thee Stallion. It's not unfounded confidence either, her talent speaks for itself. Loved this, I just hope one day she can channel all of this energy into a consistently great project.

"HE KNOWS" - Camila Cabello & Lil Nas X

Y'know what? I know "I LUV IT" was universally clowned, and rightfully so, but "HE KNOWS" is surprisingly pretty decent. It's nothing remarkable, but it's got some nice production and it's the least grating that Cabello has potentially ever sounded. Lil Nas X offers some sultry verses that are also a pretty nice touch. I wanted to be a hater, but I can't be with this one!

"Gimmie A Light" - Ice Spice

More standard fair from Ice Spice on "Gimmie A Light." If you like her stuff, and I enjoy a good bit of it, you'll probably put this one in your playlist too. Besides that, not much to comment on. I will say though, can she stop with the poop bars? It's becoming a trademark for her and she needs to break away from it before it's too late.

"Delphinium Blue" - Cassandra Jenkins

I enjoyed Cassandra Jenkin's last single and this one is pretty great too. Very atmospheric art pop that just draws you in so nicely. The minimal instrumentation makes you just sink into it all. Like you're diving gently into a pool that is just the right temperature. Beautiful track. Looking forward to the new album even more now!

"FromHere" - NxWorries ft. Snoop Dogg & October London

NxWorries, Anderson Paak and Knxwledge, have released another - far more substantial single this month. Featuring some jangly guitars and Paak's smooth vocals. It also features incredible vocals from October London and a lowkey verse from Snoop Dogg. Dogg's verse sounds like it was recorded on an iPhone, but it's masked pretty well by the gorgeous beat underneath.

"Samurai" - Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco has unveiled the opening track to his upcoming album Samurai and it's really good. Every time I hear something from Lupe, I'm like "holy shit, this is incredible. I need to dive into his discography soon!" but I never do. Getting the same feeling here. He's a very distinct rapper and lyricist. He also has an incredible ear for beats. I love the jazzy production on this cut. Really looking forward to this new album! Maybe I'll finally dive into his albums soon.

"Sexy to Someone" - Clairo

This new single from Clairo sounds like it's trying to capture the feeling of a soft rock hit from the 70s. She does it pretty well, this is a fun listen, but I just wish it was more exciting. I think Clairo is a really good songwriter and I've enjoyed a lot of her past material, I just think she's gotta do something with some more bite sooner or later. Anyway, I don't want it to seem like I dislike this track. I don't, it's a very pleasant listen and I'm excited to hear what the rest of the album will sound like!

"How Sweet" | "Bubble Gum" - NewJeans

The only K-Pop group I have the energy to keep up with, NewJeans, have dropped two new tracks this month and they're a lot of fun. They have made some of the most enjoyable pop bangers of the last two years. These two tracks are no different. I absolutely adore the production on "Bubble Gum" especially. Those funk guitars and cloudy synths just sound so amazing together. Just so much fun. I'm always gonna lock in whenever NewJeans drop some new stuff.

"Turn it up" - PinkPantheress

PinkPantheress dropped a new single which means I had to clear out like a minute from my schedule to give it a shot. I kid, this is one of her more substantial cuts at 2 minutes 30 seconds. The short song formula really works for her, so I understand why she doesn't buck the trend too much. This track is no different. Love the hazy melodies here. Sounds like a club banger for people who don't go to clubs, i.e. me. I'm not sure if a new album is on the way given it wasn't too long ago that she gave us her debut album, but we shall see.

"Grippy" - Cash Cobain & J. Cole

A song so bad that I don't believe it's real. In the midst of the Kendrick/Drake beef that Cole tapped out of before things got too messy, he drops this collab with Cash Cobain entitled "Grippy." Ok look, I get being horny, but this song is like disgustingly horny. Filled with some of the worst bars all year courtesy of both perpetrators. One line of Cole's in particular, "She said she was gay until I slayed, now she strictly dickly," was so disgusting I physically cringed. The whole "fuck you straight" thing was gross when The Weeknd did it years ago and it still rings horrible here. Alongside "Ronald" from earlier, this is a contender for worst song of the year. I'm sorry, but if you even dare consider J. Cole to be in the "big 3" of anything other than corny weirdos after these last two months in particular, you're delusional. "Don't mess with Cole when he's in album mode" my ass.

"Death & Romance" - Magdalena Bay

Magdalena Bay have been teasing stuff for the last few weeks now with very cryptic videos on social media, but there wasn't an announcement of new music until this past week. The duo's last album, Mercurial World, is one of the finest pop records of the decade so I'm always hyped to see what they have in store next. "Death & Romance" is one of their best, bar none. A psychedelic, piano-driven banger with one of the best pop songwriting I've heard all year. Despite the aesthetic surrounding the song and the lyrics about death, this song is such a fun listen. The instrumental bridge in the middle is so exhilarating. God, this song just rules. I have incredibly high hopes for the next full-length project from them, this is fucking awesome.

"Frogs" - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Nick Cave and his pals in The Bad Seeds have released another single in anticipation for their first new album in 5 years. I might like this more than the last song they dropped. I love the sounds they play around with here. It's incredibly lush, almost triumphant sounding. Cave's vocals sound a bit strained as he belts out almost exclusively in a higher register. The choral backing vocals and the occasional horn flourishes are a nice touch too. It sounds so much more hopeful than The Bad Seeds' last few records, but Cave's lyrics still have that edge to them. I'm very much looking forward to this record!

"Houdini" - Eminem

Unfortunately Eminem released a new song right as the month was drawing to a close. This is the lead single to his new album, The Death of Slim Shady, which sounds like one desperate plea to people outside of his audience that he's not completely washed yet. Remember Slim Shady? Yeah, now come listen to my new album! This song's music video proves that too as Eminem faces off with his older self and even brings back the Rap Boy persona from years gone by. "Houdini" itself isn't very good at all, but what did you really expect? Eminem has been doing old man raps for years now and he's desperately trying to still come off as edgy and whip-smart, but he fumbles at every point. The core of the song is a shitty sample flip of "Abracadabra" by the Steve Miller Band and the bars just sound like a bratty child trying to be provocative. This sucks!!! Can't wait to be terrorized by new singles from him leading up to this album!

Persuasion by Jane Austen Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but superior even to P&P. The slowburn, scorned lovers finding each other again - perfection.

Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller Tragic, yet beautiful. I love the way that no matter what, the leads just accept each other.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid Surprisingly, perhaps, not for Daisy & Billy, but rather for Camilla & Billy. In my opinion the show didn't quite do them justice, but I find the way that Camilla refuses to accept an end to their relationship, and instead make it work a wonderful sentiment. She wasn't going to give up on Billy.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead This is another one that I love because of the way the two characters come together & despite any flaws in each other, just work together and support each other.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (Pictured is actually a modern YA retelling). Okay, I acknowledge this one has its problems but for some reason Jane and Mr. Rochester always delight me. And I mean, theyre doing better than Cathy & Heathcliff so that's something, right?

The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare I actually really love Mark, Cristina & Kieran. It's good representation of different relationship types and honestly, I just think they all bring something the other needs. Which a relationship needs.

Two of a Kind (Klaus x Elizabeth)

Absolute main OC. Made to be Klaus' foil/dark mirror counterpart. While she initially wanted to avoid becoming a fanghunter, it became impossible. Her impatience shot her in the foot and now she's a ruthless huntress. While she is still technically engaged to Klaus, they both mutually, silently agree to go through an adjustment period which is the bulk of the story.

Isabelle "Izzy" Takoni

Tiny but Mighty (Leo x Izzy)

An adorable fashion designer who just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Helping Klaus and Steven with a blood breed years ago, she is the only fighter in Libra who doesn't have a blood blade. She has a crush on Leo (who is mutually interested but stuck in his own head as usual). Still on the fence on who approaches who first, but Izzy is definitely the more confident Leo (something Zapp torments Leo about consistently). The serious hurdle for Leo is that he whole-heartedly believes Izzy is with Klaus or Steven (or possibly one of their relatives).

Nevah "Nebi" Markov

The Danger You Pose (Steven x Nebi)

A tragic figure who is dangerously protective over Leo, who is like her younger brother. While it isn't easy being part demon in an organization that was actually designed to put such creatures down, but Klaus couldn't sentence someone to death after they actively defended himself and others. Steven isn't nearly as forgiving or accepting and keeps a constant eye on Nevah. This backfires spectacularly as Steven can only find positive things about her, even if it takes forever for him to admit how he feels.

Rosalind "Rosy" Baker

Shy Diva (Klaus & Leo x Rosy)

A shy, sweet girl with a naughty (spicy) secret job to put herself through college and jump-start her dream career. After meeting both Klaus and Leo separately, she admitted to liking both of them and not wanting to be any kind of weird problem; she suggested dating them at the same time in a courting sort of way. Unfortunately this backfired and despite Leo wanting to surrender the "contest" to Klaus, after a heavy discussion the three eventually decided to continue the polycule dating system they have going already.

Cassandra "Cassie" Jenkins

Frozen Heaven (Steven & Zapp x Cassie)

Between K.K.'s meddling and Zapp's uninterest in a cute barista (they went on a single date and it didn't go the way Zapp wanted), Steven ended up on a half-blind date with Cassie. His attempt to keep their instant romantic connection secret lasted for all of five months before Zapp overheard him making plans after a particularly nasty mission. Zapp's innate FOMO and pride didn't allow him to leave the happy couple be, showing up at Diane's with Zed and Leo, and foolishly starting a scene by flirting with Cassie in front of Steven (who couldn't do much due to social situation and wanting to keep his strangeness under wraps with Cassie). While Cassie didn't want to cave and date Zapp, he still weaseled his way into the relationship and under Steven's watchful eye, managed to clean up his act... mostly.

Phoebe Hall

Toxic Truth (Klaus & Zapp x Phoebe)

K.K.'s meddling lands Klaus a blind date with a stray ex of Zapp's, who actually sees Klaus and Phoebe walking around the day after and has a weird sense of entitlement. Made worse by the fact that Zapp's idea of dating is much more intimate than how Klaus does. Which incentives Zapp to worm his way into the relationship despite Klaus and Phoebe's objections. They lowkey pity Zapp and expect this situation to not last... it goes on longer than they thought it could have.

Gabriella "Gabby" Warren

Unexpected Romance (Klaus x Steven x Gabby)

Three ships:

Manfred Bloor and Asa Pike from Children of the Red King - my ultimate codependent boy-and-his-dog besties who don’t even like each other. I’d say I’m too weird about this relationship between teens from a middle grade series I read as a kid but like. Canon is ALSO very weird about them so it is my right to have never gotten over them.

Yuzuru Tanigami and Shuumei Satogiri from Crossplay Love: Otaku x Punk - they finally made me admit that I am more of a friends-to-lovers than enemies-to-lovers person, it’s just that I like when the friendship involves a lot of Being Weird About Each Other, and also lying.

Jenkins + Cassandra Cillian + Ezekiel Jones + Jacob Stone from The Librarians - I love all their individual dynamics and they build together so well as the four of them. The series structure is also so fun to play with and leads to so many fun ways for the “when” of it all.

First ship: I have been in this game since I was a little kid so I truly cannot remember, but a fun fact about me is that Nuka and Vitani from Lion King 2 played a significant role in my queer awakening (normal people were into Kovu, I have been Like This for a long time)

Currently watching: On my rewatch of The Librarians, currently on s3. It’s a really great show to have on while crocheting or doing school work because it’s a delightful romp but also if I want to dig into the characters there is enough there to have fun with.

Currently reading: Just started The Hemingses of Monticello by Annette Gordon-Reed as my audiobook, I’ll be starting The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish by Xue Shan Fei Hu soon, and I follow a few dozen manga series (yesterday I passed 300 books read this year, sorta hoping I hit 600 now!)

Currently eating: some left over tom kha gai over rice with a hardboiled egg, kind of just throwing an extra egg into everything right now to keep me full because I’m not that motivated to eat because summer is gross.

Currently craving: I really wish I had gotten a dessert at the grocery store earlier because there isn’t any ice cream in the house rn which is so sad ;_;

Listen. I NEED you all to watch The Librarians. It's good. It's so stupid, but it's good.

It has similar vibes as Leverage, being a medium-budget villain of the week show with an overarching seasonal story.

Except this time, it's about a group of people who track down magical artifacts. It's actually fairly similar to Warehouse 13, if you've seen that. People go out, track down an item, and bring it back for storage.

Anyways.

There are two people who I specifically know who star in this: Rebecca Romijn, who played Mystique in the X-Men trilogy (before Jennifer Lawrence) and Christian Kane, who played Elliot from Leverage, and he's both the same type of character, and also completely different.

The main cast of characters include Eve Baird, an ex-NATO guardian of the Librarians, Flynn Carson, the mainly absent Librarian from before the show starts, Jacob Stone, an art historian and also fighter, Cassandra (?), a super mathematician, Ezekiel Jones, a super thief, and Jenkins, the guy who actually knows his stuff.

Oh, they're all just hyper competent at what they do. Like, hilariously so.

Just watch it. It's fun and stupid and great and just so dumb.

Jake's and Sarina's wedding headcanons meme

Where they get married. Cathedral Park under St. John's Bridge in Portland Oregon.

When they get married. In autumn (late September) of 2021.

What traditions they include. They have a Christian and Hindu fusion wedding and find ways to blend traditions. Jake and Sarina have a bachelor and bachelorette party respectively. During Sarina's bachelorette party, she has the mehndi ceremony (adorning hands and feet with henna tattoo) with Cassandra, Eve, Nicole, and Estrella. Jai mala (exchanging jasmine flower garlands to wear) and the exchanging of the rings. The jai mala happens when Sarina reaches the end of the aisle. It's followed by the Hindu vows then the Christian vows and the ring exchange. And their friends toss rice at them at the end of the ceremony.

What their wedding cake looks like:

Who smashes the cake into who's face? Sarina smears a bite of cake on Jake's face. While she's laughing, he silences her with a kiss. Which gets cake on Sarina's face and they laugh.

Who proposed to who? Jake proposed to Sarina in the summer of 2020. It was morning and they were having breakfast. Jake made french press coffee (Sarina's favorite way to have coffee). The coffee was in a new mug that he bought for her just because. (Sarina collects novelty mugs). They do the daily crossword together and when Sarina reaches the bottom of her mug she sees "will you marry me?" written on the bottom. Jake gets down on one knee and with a ring and proposes.

Who walks down the aisle and who waits at the alter? Sarina walks down the aisle while Jake waits at the end of it.

What their wedding dress/suit/other looks like: Sarina wears a red bridal lehenga. The garment blends modern and traditional Indian aesthetics. Jake wears a black three piece with a bolo tie and a black cowboy hat.

What their color scheme is and what sort of decor they have. The color scheme is jewel toned and includes red, burgundy, orange, yellow, and forest green. They have a mandap set up on the deck for their alter. Lights, flowers, and foliage are strung up across the arches. There fall leaves and flowers on the stairs which serve as the aisle. The staircase is also lined with glass lanterns with candles inside.

What flowers are in the bouquet (what do the flowers mean?) The bouquet has red roses, purple waterlily dahlias, orange rank and yellow kalanchoe. Red roses symbolize love and passion. Purple dahlias are a symbol of grace, beauty, dignity, and kindness. Ranunculus flowers mean charm and attractiveness and kalanchoes mean persistence and eternal love. For added greenery, the bouquet has seeded eucalyptus, gumdrop eucalyptus, maidenhair fern (in orange), and leatherleaf fern. Eucalyptus is a symbol of strength, protection and abundance. And the fern is a symbol of sincerity, magic, fascination, confidence, shelter, discretion, reverie and a secret bond of love. Silk flowers are used and after the wedding, the bouquet becomes the center piece for the Stones' dining room table.

What their vows are. Saptapadi, the seven vows of Hindu marriage. Jake an Sarina walk seven circles around the fire in the mandap. While walking, they say the vows. 1) To nourish each other. 2) To remain lifelong friends. 3) To be together forever. 4) To take of family. 5) To share joys and sorrows. 6) To preserve wealth. 7) To grow together in strength. After the saptapadi, Jake and Sarina say the classic Christian wedding vows. "I, Jacob Stone, take you, Sarina Bhonsle, to be my wedded wife. . .till death do us part." "I, Sarina Bhonsle, take you, Jacob Stone, to be my wedded husband. . .till death do us part."

If anyone's late to the wedding. Flynn. Naturally.

Who's in the bridal party/groomsmen? It's a small ceremony. Most of the guests are the Library people. And the rest are a few family and friends Jacob and Sarina have outside of the Library. Because of this, they decide to not have a bridal party and groomsmen. Instead they just have a Best Person and a Person of Honor. Jacob asked Cassandra to be his Best Woman. Sarina asks Ezekiel to be her Man of Honor.

What their bridal party/groomsmen are wearing. Ezekiel wears a burgundy suit with a kurta shirt. Cassie wears an orange cowl neck gown. The color coordinates with Jake's orange ranunculus boutonniere.

Who gives speeches at the reception (bonus: what do they say?) Cassie and Ezekiel give speeches. As does Eve and Jenkins. Cass's speech is mostly about the good change she's seen in Jake since Sarina came into his life. Ezekiel ribs Jacob, basically saying that Sarina is too cool for Jake but wishes them a happy life together. Eve's speech is about officially welcoming Sarina into their weird found little family. Eve and Sarina later develop an inside joke that Eve is Sarina's Guardian-in-law. Jenkins congratulations the happy couple and makes a point to tell Jacob how proud he is of him.

Who catches the bouquet? Cassandra catches the bouquet. She then shares a knowing look with Estrella.

What their wedding photos look like. Photos of the newly weds were taken on the Cathedral Park staircase. As well as group photos with Ezekiel and Cassandra and photos with Flynn, Eve, Jenkins, and Nicole. There are also candid photos of the ceremony and the reception. Such as photos of the rice tossing and the cake smashing. Jacob and Sarina have a tri-fold frame of the cake smashing. First photo is of Sarina smashing cake into Jake's face. Second is of Jake kissing Sarina, getting cake on her face, and the third is of them laughing together.

What sort of food they have at the reception. Entrées: Mutton biryani and pork chops w/ fig & grape agrodolce. Appetizers: Bacon wrapped dates w/ goat cheese, potato skins, and amritsari paneer tikka. Side dishes: Masala mac & cheese, quinoa bhel salad, and tamale pie. Desserts: Cherry and apple fried pies, ras malai mousse and thandai truffles.

How wild their reception gets (who dances the best, who gets drunk first, etc.) Ezekiel is the best dancer. Some guests start a limbo contest which Jenkins wins and Flynn was a close second. Cassie gets drunk on champagne.

What their rings look like. Sarina's engagement ring & wedding band and Jake's wedding band.

What sort of favors they have. Wooden engraved bookmarks.

Where they go on their honeymoon. Château de Fère in France.

Something memorable that happens during the party/ceremony. A couple of Jake's cousins get too drunk and start a brawl.

Who officiates the ceremony. They hire a pandit to perform the Hindu parts of the ceremony and a priest to perform the Christian parts.

What song their first dance is to. "Here, There and Everywhere" by The Beatles.

Who gives who away as they walk down the aisle. Jenkins walks Sarina down the aisle.

ALBUM SHOW NOTES

Laughing is a Canadian band whose debut album, "Becaue It's True", is an album well worth your time. As they like to say themselves, they pay attention to some of the best songwriting of the past 5 decades and use it to influence what they come up with, and they're pretty good at it. All of the members come from other Canadian bands you've never heard of like Monomyth and Nap Eyes, but this incarnation I believe is going places. Please check out our north of the border naighbors (assuming you're in the US) when we play the full album on this week's Album Show.

Also worthy of note this week is the new album by Phish, which for once really catches their live shoud, called "Evolve", The new album by Cassandra Jenkins called "My Light, My Destroyer" that features the song "Petco", and Cigarettes After Sex's new album, "X's". If you want to revist the 1980's but with brand new music, I recomment Love Friend's new release called "Handle With Care", and if you feel like testing out a gothic horror concept album, I do recommend Earth Tongue's "Great Haunting". Finally, I have to admit that I liked the new Remi Wolf album "Big Ideas".

For once the Spotify Biography (quoted above) is pretty accurate. JonoJono is really a mix of many styles, without it becomming a mess. I rather enjoy his new album "I'm cool... The Librarian dies. and for handwavey reasons the Library doesn’t just hire a new one, and the LITs (or whatever our au equivalents of the cast are) go around pretending they’re just proxies and flynn is still alive and easily EASILY there’s smth in the library for whatever necromancy they want.

(maybe spit as the library??? that’s awful. he’s kind of a narrative tool to give the MCs tasks? he could be a rly unfortunate clippings book?)

Another "timeshifted" show crossover AU idea that wouldn't leave me alone (although this one would shift itself fewer years than my idea for an X-Files/Warehouse 13 crossover): The Librarians and So Help Me Todd

Picture this: what seems to be an ordinary case involving what appears to be just ordinary employees of the Portland library (as they said "we're the librarians") turns out to be very much not ordinary and before they know it Margaret and Todd get swept up into fighting the magic whatever-it-is too; Todd bonds with his fellow neuroweirdos (including falling a bit for Cassandra) and learns he's not the only one with the luck gift shenanigans, and Margaret and Jenkins bond over the metaphorical cat-herding they have to do (with perhaps a little spark there too that causes Margaret to think about where things are going with her and Gus) and everybody's special skills all help save the day and both Wrights end up with long term client working-relationships with the Library (Margaret's basically their lawyer for even the magical law stuff and Todd's kind of an adjunct/reservist Librarian of sorts)
