✨ What have you read because of an adaptation? ✨ Now, hear me out... I know that's a big no-no in the book world, but I've found some really interesting reads that way! I definitely wouldn't have known the books existed -- or even picked some of them up -- had I not seen the adaptation first. Howl's Moving Castle has a special place in my heart, and I finally bought and read the rest of the series! I discovered Howl's Moving Castle through Studio Ghibli, and I just can't get enough of it. The books take it all one step further (unsurprisingly)! Howl's dramatics are turned up by about 1000%, and the sass is string with every character. It's such a fun read! Even though the writing style is unique, and can be hard to embrace sometimes, the story wouldn't be the same without it, and I see how Miyazaki latched onto it for the film! The book world of the series is SO BIG, and I can't believe how we barely see the tip of the iceberg over three books. I really can't get enough of Howl and Sophie in this series, and part of me wishes that Diana Wynne Jones managed to write a dozen more books in the series before she passed. But there's also a beauty in the open-ended nature of the universe she created that demands a similar, open-ended closure for the books. 🥰 QOTD: Have you read Howl's Moving Castle, or seen the movie?
