How’d you get into CBB?

basically because steph wore azzi's jersey during a presser one time hahah i'd heard of paige buckets of course, but was never really a big college ball person. but i was like who is this player who is so good steph thinks her shooting form is basically as good as klay's?

and then i started watching highlights and got more into it. i didn't come lurk on tumblr until like end of 2023/beginning of 2024 tho so i didn't really know about the personal relationship aspect beside that paige and azzi were best friends lol

The Celebrity Big Brother House is the same... except with gold trim, star decals, and monkeys 🐒

We are quite literally hours away from the live launch of Celebrity Big Brother 2024 on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player. Which is exciting!

Perhaps less exciting is the reveal of the House, which even by CBB standards isn't anything to write home about. The only real structural changes are that "Jenkin's bench" in the garden has been replaced with a bunch of planters -- and the water tank in the garden has been replaced by a new bench! It's the ciiiiiircle of liiiiife!

In all seriousness, there was never a clear shot of it (or an on-air explanation), but a "DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER" sign definitely appeared in the BB kitchen midway through last year's season, so it's quite possible that's why the tank has disappeared.

It's a little hard to see in that pic, but there are also a bunch of gold monkeys climbing up the garden wall:

The monkey motif continues into the upstairs seating area, which has retained its basic structure and warm colour palette, but now has a gold alligator in it. 🤷

Elsewhere, the changes are more subtle. Let's try to follow the designers' thought process as we take in the next few photos:

Garden + Gold Trim = 'Celebrity' Garden

Living Area + Gold Cushions = 'Celebrity' Living Area

Bath + Star Decal = 'Celebrity' Bath

You get the idea.

For the record, this is still a great House, and I don't think anyone was necessarily expecting massive structural changes this early in ITV's tenure. It's just a little bit "by the numbers" for our liking.

Negende volks- en woningtelling in de voorbereiding

Stichting Algemeen Bureau voor de Statistiek (ABS) start met de promotie voor de 9e volks- en woningtelling, bekend als Census-9. Met een slogan- en logo wedstrijd is getracht te werken aan het aanmoedigen van de creativiteit alsook het vergroten van het bewustzijn over het belang van de Census-9. Op 27 juni 2024 vond de feestelijke prijsuitreiking plaats met de lancering van de Census-9 jingle. Deze activiteit markeerde niet alleen de bekendmaking van de winnaars, maar was tevens ook het startsein voor de werving van censusmedewerkers. De winnaar van de sloganwedstrijd is Michael Mc Calman, wiens inzending ‘Teri Sranan, Sabi Sranan’ is geprezen om zijn doeltreffendheid en relevantie voor het doel van de volkstelling. Het winnende logo werd ontworpen door grafisch ontwerper Wishwanand Sheoratan en is gekozen om zijn visuele impact en representatie van de Census-9 boodschap. Het Census Management Team werd geprezen voor hun toewijding en inspanningen bij het selecteren van de winnende inzendingen uit een groot aantal creatieve voorstellen. De werving van censusmedewerkers is ook officieel gestart. Voor het veldwerk wordt samengewerkt met lokale districtscommissarissen, met wie binnenkort een strategische bijeenkomst gepland staat om de uitvoering van de telling in de districten te bespreken. Het komt nog voor dat weinig Surinamers hun nieuw adres aangeven bij het Centraal Bureau voor Burgerzaken (CBB). Guilliano Koornaar, Nationaal Census Leider en Onderdirecteur Statistieken, benadrukt het belang van de volkstelling voor het formuleren van effectief beleid en planning voor overheidsdoeleinden. “De data die we verzamelen, zoals woninginformatie en verhuisbewegingen, is belangrijk voor het plannen van bijvoorbeeld onderwijsvoorzieningen en infrastructuurontwikkeling,” stelt Koornaar.
