Ayla in this alternative universe is the famous villain (or antihero, as she likes to call it) Doctor Octopus, a scientist who became obsessed with the idea of revenge on those who transformed her into a cephalopod hybrid and harmed many lives in the process. Before suffering the radiation incident, she was a marine biologist and best friend of Miguel O'hara, the current Spider-Man.

bonus headcanon(?): octoling's tentacle hair can move on its own a little. sort of like, an autopilot thing. this specific interaction is like a sign of affection. josh is fucking entranced by this guy and he cant hide it well

I finally didnt forget about mermay! Mermaid Kassidy would be an octopus because I say so but also because being funny to squish into places and the camouflage, all fun spy things.
